No idea on tests, I have agreed to have any offered, being an older mum I thought it important

MundayCakes85 · 25/10/2016 07:47

I didn't have any tests last time, we won't be having any this time either.
Only real symptom at the moment is the tiredness, although that might have something to do with working full time with a toddler Grin
8 weeks today. Booking in next week!

Poppydm · 25/10/2016 08:25

I've not really looked into other tests yet to be honest MrsPage. I think I'm just going to get all the checks done too.
8+1 today. Needing to pee all the time. The hunger has eased for me and ive now gone to only being able to eat what I really fancy as opposed to anything and everything. Thanks for the maternity jeans recommendations! Definitely getting some of those bad boys this week. For those of you with experience, when did you start to notice your bump?

babyand · 25/10/2016 08:30

Poppy I was about 20/22 weeks before I got a noticeable bump (girl) my sister was pregnant the same time and started showing around 15 weeks (boy) both our babies were born the same weight

HazyHazyJeans · 25/10/2016 08:43

Gosh I really can't remember when I properly started showing. I think I thought I had a bump from about 16 weeks but it probably wasn't a noticeable pregnancy bump until after 20 weeks. I'm expecting to show earlier this time. Everyone is so different though, we all carry/show differently!

Poppy you mentioned mat jeans yesterday, I think someone else recommended H&M & I second that recommendation. I found their mat stuff to be v good. And I agree over the bump is the best!

Masweetpea1 · 25/10/2016 08:53

I had a small bump from about 14 weeks, though was in maternity jeans earlier as it was more comfy.

This time there's been a bump from 6 weeks Shock

Mommytobe2017 · 25/10/2016 08:53

Morning everyone Flowers

I'm feeling exhausted today. I only went to the garden centre yesterday but it seems to have drained all the energy I had!

7 weeks today. At this rate, I'll be giving birth next week!

lamafarmer · 25/10/2016 08:58

WOW I feel awful on the tube today - very faint/sick. I HAD a seat which I gave up to a lady wearing a BoB badge (from the other end of the carriage... no one else got up) - definitely going to order one today...

Anyone know where to buy sick bags? I haven't actually vommed yet but I think having a couple with me would make me feel better, especially when stuck in a tunnel between stations...

5+3

Sixisthemagicnumber · 25/10/2016 09:13

I have had the first negative comment from somebody who doesn't even know I am pregnant (we haven't told anybody yet). I was out walking the little one in his pushchair when a neighbour stopped to talk to me and said "you better make sure he was the last one as you have plenty to look after already". I was a bit taken aback but did manage to tell him to concentrate on his own family size and not to worry about mine.

I'm going to get a lot of this negativity when people realise I am
Pregnant. We had some negative comments last time when it was dc3 so now it is dc4 or will be even worse. Im bracing myself for
Comments suggesting we should get sterilised, buy a tv, keep our legs crossed etc Sad

Monkeyandthebear · 25/10/2016 09:17

Dizzy I went to Body Balance yesterday and the instructor was great. I spoke to her at the start and she said I am ok until 16 weeks to carry on as normal. Twists are the problem later but she told me to watch what she is doing now which are open twists rather than closed. Basically your belly faces out rather than into your leg. She kept looking over and pointing out modifications. My problem was more feeling a bit queasy when I was doing anything when my head was down like downward facing dog. Instructor suggested eating mints when I do it. Was good to discuss with her.

Struggling at work today. Feel I should tell someone because I work in a factory, spending half the time in the office and the rest in the factory so I think there is a safety element. The factory makes food so can smell a bit too and I cannot be sick on the factory floor. Dont want to tell my boss though. Hmm

VeganMama83 · 25/10/2016 09:29

Wow so much to catch up on!

Hope you'll be ok mummy Flowers

Yep deffo going to bf again, no other option for me/new baby. Still have milk in as DS2 stopped feeding last month.

Still feeling sick most of the day and still majorly bloated.

I wouldn't bother getting fitted for a nursing bra until a week or so after baby is here as they'll be crazy big as milk comes in. I just used a bravado nursing bra at first and then got measured at Bravissimo about 8-10 days pp.

Overtime got cut in my store but I'm gonna do some overtime in a larger store and will actually be doing double the overtime I was previously doing so that'll help massively.

3 more sleeps until early scan and that chart that was posted re: miscarriage odds has dropped to 3.9% now so I'm feeling positive

7w today

DizzyNorthernBird · 25/10/2016 09:32

Thanks monkey, that's interesting. So did you do the open twists now or was she just showing you them for fututre use? Yes I can imagine down dog being a problem if you aren't feeling 100%.

six people are just so rude, they should mind their own business! Angry

I'd been considering looking into mat trousers for work already. As its my first i suppose I won't show for ages yet but my trousers have been so uncomfortable with bloating after I've eaten. Hopefully I can hang on until when we're ready to tell people, I don't want to be outed by a pair of trousers if anyone notices!

Six weeks today and it's also my birthday! Feeling rough but that's more likely due to only getting six hours sleep due to working a late shift. I'm at work tonight too and I'm at home alone this morning, happy birthday to me! Lol.

Masweetpea1 · 25/10/2016 09:34

six, i can't believe people are so rude to come out with comments like that. Especially someone randomly that you see out. Good for you standing up for yourself!

DizzyNorthernBird · 25/10/2016 09:36

My boobs haven't changed at all yet! I keep looking at them for signs of growth or veins appearing but so far my bras still fit nicely and they look the same as always maybe slightly saggier as I'm a year older now lol

MumofthreeandBean · 25/10/2016 09:41

HAPPY BIRTHDAY Dizzy

VeganMama83 · 25/10/2016 09:42

six wow can't believe the rudeness!

One of my SiL said to my parents in the hospital after DS2 "oh I suppose we'll be here every year then!"

Obvs must be the only woman in the world whose had a small gap! She also pissed me off as she wasn't even meant to be at the hospital as I'd said GP only and she just turned up with MiL. This time I'm actually loving that we are hiding it from all of them!

Sixisthemagicnumber · 25/10/2016 09:44

Unfortunately sweetpea and dizzy people are very rude and it makes me not want to tell anybody and just let them figure it out as I get massive.
When I was pregnant with dc3 we had lots of people ask us if it was an accident or tell us we were mad to be starting again as dc2 was due to start senior school. As soon as dc3 was born DH had people telling him he should get the snip as 3 is plenty Angry. It took us over 4 years to conceive dc3 and he was very much wanted. Having dc4 feels like the icing on the cake as dc3 will have a close age sibling. 4 children will make us a large family but we are not asking anybody to help us practically or financially so they should mind their own business.

DH has suggested the following response when people say something negative "the usual response to a pregnancy announcement is congratulations".

Masweetpea1 · 25/10/2016 09:59

six, i like dh's response!!
When we got pregnant with dd, one girl at work that i don't know very well asked 'was it planned?'........ Er yes. And then she said ' is it shanes '. Omg...... If you knew me in rl you'd know that I'm the biggest prude in the world and to suggest it was anyones but his would be hugely insulting to me. Stupid cow, thankfully my other work colleagues stood up for me!

Mummyh2016 · 25/10/2016 10:07

Hope everything is okay mummy Flowers

I feel shattered, have slept crap the last two nights. Had bad tummy ache last night which made me think the worst, realised about an hour later though that it was trapped wind, never used to suffer with that before!! No sickness but my mom said she didn't have any with me and I've read it's hereditary. My boss announced yesterday his wife is pregnant, it really pissed me off. Think it's because no one likes her and all he does is talk about himself. Plus a bit of me is thinking if something happens to my baby I'm going to be reminded over the next 8 months by him rubbing my face in it (she's 2 weeks ahead of me). He can't keep a secret to save his life.

My best friend has her 12 week scan today, I'm so bloody excited Grin

Mommytobe2017 · 25/10/2016 10:08

People can be so nasty, can't they?

There's a particular lady I work with who I know won't be able to help herself. I'm ready though. I vowed in September that I'm not taking it anymore! I'm not going to tell her myself she can find out some other way

I think I'm starting to feel sick this morning. I'm freezing but got the window open for some fresh air. Sides are still aching. Must have overstretched yesterday.

Mummyh2016 · 25/10/2016 10:08

sweetpea we have someone like that in our office. Why anyone thinks it is appropriate to ask if someone's pregnancy was planned (unless you're a close friend) I will never know!!!

MumofthreeandBean · 25/10/2016 10:28

six I fully understand you!
My youngest is due to start high school September, I just see it as a good thing that he will catch the school bus and I won't have to rush about with a baby, until I go back to work that is.
Peoples opinions don't matter but it does hurt, we want this baby, surely that is all that matters!!
I was on the depo for 9 years, then I had the implant for a year - with my tummy problems I needed to detox my body so I had the implant removed. It was removed in June - and here I am 9 weeks pregnant. Meant to be. No we didn't use contraception but in our eyes we were happy with what might happen. Honestly didn't think it would happen though,
The people I am most worried about with 'comments' would be the parents at football matches, though 2 of them do have large gaps between children but can be so snide sometimes

KittyVonCatsington · 25/10/2016 10:30

Last time I just had the Nuchal fold and normal blood tests and was 1:180 and all was fine. I couldn't afford a private Harmony test though so hope I don't need it!

What is the world coming to when a pregnant woman gives up her seat to another pregnant woman?!?! lamafarmer you are wonderful!!!!!!!! I must say I had no trouble on London tubes buses or trains when pregnant-even after munchkin was born, I was still offered seats till the bump when down (and DH was holding DD!)

Go for Mat trousers Dizzy best thing ever! Even if you don't have a bump, having something dig in to a pregnant tum hurts. Best thing I ever did was get maternity work trousers very early. No zips!! Bliss!!!

6+2. Heartbeats should be starting by now!!!!!

LittleLight42 · 25/10/2016 11:02

People judge and that is SO annoying. I have often been told that I will stay single forever as I haven't been married by 25 (happily married in 34) and I was actually looked down upon by some people who didn't think I was a 'full woman' (their words) as I chose to not have children while having no money and studying. I saw that group of people last weekend and the first thing I was asked was whether I was pregnant yet. I said no, but my PhD is finished so you should really start calling me a Doctor.
eejits.

I congratulate you on your pregnancy and well done for doing what you feel is right for you. go girl!

babyand · 25/10/2016 11:14

Just got my first scan date for 13th December. I will be 12 + 4 . Family wedding on the Friday I'll be 12 weeks! Aghhh was really hoping to have a scan for the wedding x
