Does anyone know where I put my glasses? I've lost them somewhere between the car and the house?!? Baby brain strikes early Smile

Masweetpea1 · 23/10/2016 17:42

Great news mrs!

KittyVonCatsington · 23/10/2016 17:51

In my experience, Junebaby your DH will soon understand once baby is here, what he can and can't do! Until then, I do think some men struggle to 'see' how things will change. I wouldn't worry at the moment and just be rest assured, you will both soon find out if your baby can sleep with 'noise' or not! Grin

Oh, with cured meats, you can eat them but put them in a freezer first to kill any bugs then thaw out (advice from NHS). It is how I got my saucisson fix last time! Obviously in restaurants though you can't be sure.

Beautiful scan photo mrspage-so pleased for you!

That is very cute Dragon!

MundayCakes-check the top of your head?!?!! Grin Oh I'm so mean! They will turn up when you least expect it, like in DD's toy box!

Sixisthemagicnumber · 23/10/2016 18:37

Anybody else have a massive drop in appetite? I'm really struggling to eat my meals. I know I have to eat as I am pregnant and also have other children to look after so I'm forcing myself to eat at least half of my meals but it's a real struggle. I was like this in my last pregnancy during the first trimester and I lost half a stone, then in the second and third trimesters I was a greedy pig and gained far too much weight Grin.

Six I am struggling with food. Never a problem with me normally but I have no appetite and feel sick, I am trying.
My last 3 pregnancys I was all bump and looking back at photos I was so thin, wouldn't mind a bit of weight loss this time as I have grown over the years 😂

PurpleHaze1 · 23/10/2016 19:06

Fab pic mrs!

Hope you found your glasses munday Halloween Grin

PurpleHaze1 · 23/10/2016 19:08

I'm not really struggling with food per se but I am being more fussy. As long as it's something I really fancy, I can eat it fine but I'm definitely 'off' foods that I'd usually eat no problem.

I am crazy bloated though. I look about 5 months, not 5 weeks, pregnant tonight! Halloween Blush

Thanks guys - I'm chuffed!! Smile

Mommytobe2017 · 23/10/2016 19:28

I'm so excited to get to our first scan. 2 weeks till mw appt. Then probably another 3 or so weeks for the scan.

It still doesn't feel real. Went to my friends DS 1st birthday party and was so desperate to tell her. I did sit there wondering what I'm getting myself into with all the kids and chaos...

Food wise, I'm absolutely starving all the time! I have a huge appetite anyway but since we found out about bean it's gotten worse. I just want chocolate!!

I think it might sink in when we see it on the screen. Everytime I tell DP that I love him, he says it back and I say baby too. So, so weird...

I had a nightmare about giving birth last night. I think it's since my friend said she was in labour for 3 days... Shock

VeganMama83 · 23/10/2016 19:38

Hi everyone! This thread is so busy now it's fab!

As said previously don't worry about the baby's room needing to be sorted. It won't get used for ages!

Still feeling sick for most of the day and still off lots of foods I usually love but pigging out on salt and vinegar crisps and cinnamon bagels with homemade Nutella!

Going to be good from tomorrow with food as ideally would like to drop a few pounds before booking in appt!

Scan on Friday. Can't wait. So hard not being able to tell my parents. It's gonna be so hard to hide til January esp since I'm so bloated already

Mooseville · 23/10/2016 19:57

I wish my appetite had dropped. I've put in four pounds already!!!! I'm too aiming to eat healthier and do much more swimming and walking as I can't put on any more so soon!!!!

Masweetpea1 · 23/10/2016 20:10

My appetite has reduced again (last time dh put on half a stone in the first trimester and i lost half a stone!!)
The travel bracelets have completely failed today, i felt horrendously nauseous, though i may have felt worse if i didn't have them on (I decided not to test that theory out!).
I've had to go out today to buy some baggy tops for work, i have a definite (4 months) bump now that's going to be impossible to hide until Jan......i can't even pretend I've put on weight, it looks like a baby bump Shock

Thanks all for the reassurance re the nursery! I'm sure we will be OK, been having a bit of a clear out this afternoon and looking on ikea website for storage ideas to sort the flat out. DP has accepted that computer in baby's room may not be ideal due to the light from it etc though thinks it's "a problem for another day". We have said we will keep the baby in our room for the first few months anyway. I'm sure we'll manage in 2 bed flat as can't really face/afford moving at the moment. Only bought this place last Jan!

Sixisthemagicnumber · 23/10/2016 20:40

june our little one has just turned a year old and he has only been in his own room for two months. We had the nursery decorated before he was born but in reality we needn't have bothered. I expect this baby will be in with us for at least six months too.
Would it be an option to leave the computer where it is for now and then move it into your room when baby moves into his own room as you will have the space in your room where the cot has been?

MissisBee · 23/10/2016 21:08

Aww Mrs lovely picture.

Told my parents and sister tonight, they're delighted. I'm even more nervous now that everything works out.

Managed the nausea much better today, have been pretty much nibbling constantly and ginger does seem to help me. Hoping it continues in this vein (but doesn't disappear altogether!)

Hey guys ,

Just had a catch up on the thread! Had about 50 to read so I can't remember them all to reply! But, there is a July thread?! Amazing we are getting there slowly!!

I had my sisters hen last night! We started at 11:30am yesterday but I think I got away with it . No one questioned me. I had one sister in on it with me ( we are very very close) so I just drank sprite all day and night letting on it was vodka. I ordered a glass of wine for dinner and my sister drank it. I put it to my mouth a few times for show. We got to be at 6am Confusedso tired now but was delighted to come home to dd, really missed her.

Nausea set in hard today! I felt like I had a genuine hang over!

Panic over! They were down the side of the seat in the car Blush
Had a great weekend with friends, they told us they were 9 weeks pregnant so DH spilled the beans! Lone parenting this week so hoping DD stays in this lovely, helpful phase so I don't get too knackered by it all Grin

Hi ladies, glad you've found your glasses Munday Grin
I'd say I've been a bit more fussy than normal. The total ravenous hunger seems to have passed but like you said Purple struggling with being crazy bloated. Can't stand wearing tight things on my tummy. For those of you with experience, buying some maternity jeans if I'm abnormal size 8 are maternity jeans just like a size 8 but with a stretchy waist band? Does anyone have any recommendations?
Told my dad after being ridiculously nervous and he was totally thrilled. It was really lovely Smile
Got my first midwife appointment on Tuesday and feeling a mixture of excitement/nerves! She comes out to my house for it.
Hope everyone is having a lovely night Smile

Poppydm · 23/10/2016 21:45

Aaah a normal size 8 not abnormal!! Blush

Masweetpea1 · 23/10/2016 22:07

Just buy your normal size jeans. You can get under bump or over bump ones. Personally i prefer over bump as i feel they're less likely to fall down!! X

NikANak · 23/10/2016 22:12

Joining the party, 5+6 with my 2nd :)

Sixisthemagicnumber · 23/10/2016 22:27

Agree with masweet, get over bump jeans in your usual size. Over bump jeans are so comfy I wish somebody would start making them in non maternity so I could wear them forever.

Poppydm · 23/10/2016 22:30

Thanks ladies! Might try topshops. Yes I've heard lots of people say that about comfort. I might never look back Smile
