Ooh sorry moonlight I hope I haven't just planted a Chinese takeaway seed in your mind!

northernquavers · 23/10/2016 09:10

Morning everyone. Takeaway sounds like heaven!

Are any of you experiencing freezing cold extremities? I am usually always too warm - have the aircon in my office as low as possible, sleep with feet out of covers even in winter. The last few days, my hands have been visibly white and icy cold and my nose is freezing my DH keeps noticing when we kiss. I am having to bundle my feet in fluffy socks and slippers. Is this pregnancy related? Can't believe such a tiny bean could alter my circulation so much!

Yes northern , I'm freezing too and I'm always warm and known for having the windows open in winter!! So it's very peculiar.

MissisBee · 23/10/2016 09:27

northern I'm the opposite, I'm usually always cold but the last week or so I've been too hot all the time

Sixisthemagicnumber · 23/10/2016 09:29

I'm constantly cold too. I dread to think how much my gas bill is going to be.

qate · 23/10/2016 09:32

northern Ditto, normally I sleep with the aircon on full blast and covers thrown off, while husband hides under a sheet and duvet... for the last week, I've been sleeping in long pyjamas (much to his annoyance!) with the aircon off, curled under the duvet. I'm mostly fine during daytime, but evenings/nights I get really chilly. Am glad it's not just me - everyone says that you warm up!!

Haha dizzy that would be nice!

I'm always cold anyway so no change there but I have been waking up in the night having hot flushes, I literally need to strip off and go stand by a window for a few mins then back to cold again! Very odd. Guessing it's the hormones.

My sickness seems to be getting a bit better last few days which is a relief (I think). Ovia told me today that the placenta is taking over more so hopefully that's why and things will start to get better. I'm off to do a food shop later so will see if I fair better than last time when I was heaving round the shop at all the smells!

Hi all, def feeling the cold here!
It's been a week and half since last scan and have booked in another one today Confused think this could become some sort of addiction!! Going on LMP dates I am 9+1 today, but going on the dates at last weeks scan I am 8 exactly.
Interested to see what I am dated at today - hope all is well. I haven't had any changes in symptoms so am not going into it worrried, I just want to get an ok at 8 weeks knowing the success rates go up so much from that point.

Happy Sunday everyone x

haveacupoftea · 23/10/2016 12:05

Feeling great today, although i was up at 2am for a pee, boobs are a bit sore and have a sore throat, i feel a lot better on the emotional end of things. I spent a few days there feeling very overwhelmed, sad and irritable.

Mommytobe2017 · 23/10/2016 12:05

Hi everyone 😆

I'm still feeling the cold. I'm ok when busy or cooking but as soon as I settle down for the evening I start to freeze. Thank goodness we have a blanket!

haveacupoftea · 23/10/2016 12:06

8+2 (always forget that part)

PurpleHaze1 · 23/10/2016 12:31

I'm freezing all the time too. It's not totally unusual for me but I think it's more extreme than normal.

I gagged eating breakfast this morning & had to run to the loo! Confused I feel fine again now though. In fact, I'm ravenous... DHs making bacon sandwiches Grin

Hello all!

I'm freezing too most of the time! And I still cannot stop eating beige food!

Just had a browse round Mothercare eyeing up the prams! Lol

JunebabyT · 23/10/2016 12:47

Anyone else got a DP who is slightly failing to face reality... DP seems to think he can keep his computer in the spare room and still play his games in there "while the baby is asleep" Angry Really pissed off. I've told him this is not going to be possible and did ask whether it's possible for him to play his games on a laptop as we don't have space for his massive computer with multiple monitors, which didn't go down too well... We only live in a two bed flat and so the spare room will have to be the nursery. Surely I'm not BU thinking we need to make a proper nursery and not leave the sodding computer in there! And I don't know when he thinks he is going to have all this spare time to play the games!

qate · 23/10/2016 12:50

Was going to update the spreadsheet with my details, but struggling to edit - clearly far too lazy a weekend for me - any suggestions?!

peaceloveandbiscuits · 23/10/2016 13:00

June that was the set up we had before DS was born. DS didn't actually need that room for four months, so all his stuff was in our room, and DH kept his computer and the spare bed in there. When DS was days old he would sit up all night playing games and holding DS, while I slept. Don't knock it!

PurpleHaze1 · 23/10/2016 13:07

June I understand you feeling a bit frustrated but TBH it might not be as bad as you think. DH was studying for his post-grad when DD was born. His computer etc was in her room but it was fine because she wasn't in there until 6 months. She didn't nap in her cot until she was over a year either so actually, she was barely in her room!

I remember feeling like the nursery had to be perfect for DD but honestly, in the first few months it was just a storage room! Smile

Dragon5000 · 23/10/2016 13:25

I wouldn't worry about the nursery for a while tbh! Even though ds went on his own room at 9 weeks - kept me awake snoring little git! They don't recommend they go into their own room till 6 months and their only sleeping in it just be careful with the glare etc but babies will sleep I'd they want to regardless of what else is going on!

Slight panic this morning - I am allowed honey aren't I??

peaceloveandbiscuits · 23/10/2016 13:26

Unless you're a baby under one, yes, you can have honey Grin

MoonlightMojitos · 23/10/2016 14:41

dragon I survived 2 weeks on hot lemon and honey when I had a cold, it's fine :)

MumofthreeandBean · 23/10/2016 14:42

I panicked with marmite yesterday!! I googled it and apparently it's fine, I was so pleased!!!

Donostia · 23/10/2016 15:03

Haha mumof I ate RIDICULOUS amounts of marmite last pregnancy, spoonfuls of the stuff. It was my craving. AND I don't live in Britain, so sending DH out for Marmite meant an actual road trip to Nerja to find an English shop!!

Whats the deal on cured meats? As the NHS says to avoid but my GP says fine... to ham or not to ham!?

Donostia · 23/10/2016 15:07

JuneBaby yes YANBU... tell him to grow up! And sell the massive computer and buy a lovely nursery chair or something with it and a nice laptop to play games on.

DH is worrying a little about lack of sleep. He did most of the night feeds last time and I did feel guilty about that but just couldn't muster the urge to get out of bed when I knew he would do it Blush Hoping that breastfeeding will be a lot easier this time so can just feed in bed - DS wouldn't accept my breast until he was 3.5 months old. I expressed for 3.5 months!!! Noway am I doing that again!

When should I go to the doctor? I'm 4+6 today.

mrspage1985 · 23/10/2016 15:17

Hi all, good scan - dated at 8+3 making me due 1st June Smile
So happy to have seen the good heartbeat!

Booking in appt with midwife tomorrow - all feeling very real now!

Yes that's why I panicked after remembering the baby under 1 thing. Phew!

Sorting out ds toys today and he found a rattle and told me the baby could have it. I asked what baby and he said well very soon you'll get fat and there'll be a baby in your tummy!
I can't wait to tell him!
