And thanks kitch, will check out that link. Made the mistake of starting to leg shave the other day but realised it would end badly and just gave up. Might just resign myself to stubbly legs this winter, can't even bring myself to care that much!

Kitch82 · 06/11/2016 12:32

I've had a month of hairy (think gorilla) legs but had a spa day with my friends yesterday so spent 30 minutes perched on the edge of the bath doing the best I could. I did suggest to hubby that he could give me a hand, not keen to say the least. Luckily spa day was worth it. That's it now though until after baby. It's soooo glamorous this pregnancy malarkey.

Lovewatchingrainfall · 06/11/2016 13:00

I know what you mean with nesting. So far I have sorted out DD clothes, made room for baby clothes, sorted out the dreaded hall cupboard sent DH to B&Q three times for different screws and bits.

Sorted out my clothes and realised how little clothes I had. And now sent the DH off again to get stuff for a roast. Poor him.

Need advice as to where to store nappies. We have a strange bathroom with no storage and no room for any. Would a box under the cot be okay or should I get a changing table which seems expensive?

Nojo82 · 06/11/2016 13:17

I bought a wee drawers/shelf thing from ikea to put nappies etc in downstairs so they are handy. You can put canvas boxes in it. But i do also have a storage room (very small) that currently has shelve in that has all the nappies on..

Nojo82 · 06/11/2016 13:19

This is it and had a chest of drawers underneath..

December 2016 babies.... not long to go now!
Lovewatchingrainfall · 06/11/2016 13:54

Wow nojo that looks fab

Nojo82 · 06/11/2016 14:08

Its actually got quite a few more nappies since that pic was taken..

Londonmamabychance · 06/11/2016 15:37

love you can etc a changing table from IKEA for around £14. We have their cheapest one and it has worked a treat, loads of storage underneath and personally I found it really handy with DD not having to bend etc when changing her. Even now she stands up on it and gets changed there, saving me the hassle of bending over her on the bed or similar.

Didn't get hardly any sleep last night again, this insomnia with no apparent reason other than needing to wee is driving me nuts! Drank loads of chamomile tea, did 30 mins yoga and went for a short walk in the park yesterday, all the things you're supposed to do to get a good nights sleep, but still
Lay awake most of the night and kept poor DH awake with tossing and turning!

Nojo82 · 06/11/2016 20:27

Oh hello braxton hicks.

Thisisbonkers · 06/11/2016 20:56

Wah. Not convinced junior has been moving as much today. But he/she is moving. And has changed position during planet earth. Will have a cup of tea with Poldark and see if he/she objects to me resting the mug on my bump as normal.

Nojo82 · 06/11/2016 21:18

bonkers have a can of coke and chocolate bar and lie on left side. Should get junior moving.

SouthDownsSunshine · 06/11/2016 21:46

thisis if baby doesn't move after you've been lying on your left side etc etc, give the midwives a call. I went in yesterday after baby hadn't moved in the morning. Of course, baby started moving as soon as I arrived at hospital. But the midwives were great and didn't make me feel like an idiot at all!

I've felt really rough today, despite sleeping lots last night. I'm fighting off a cold, but have felt emotional, exhausted and on edge. Lots of gentle period pain that I think is just baby lying low. My rubbish diet of the last few weeks is catching up on me I guess.

Nojo82 · 06/11/2016 22:05

Yea i had reduced movements the other day and that was part of tbe reson why i went in. Lying on left side didnt work.m sorry meant to write that at end.

Thisisbonkers · 06/11/2016 22:53

I got a bit of a pounding when I lay down. Going to bed, if it doesn't rave as I'm trying to sleep then I may worry. It's probably just glad to have a day to chill out as I've not done much.

barkingtreefrog · 07/11/2016 06:14

bonkers hope you felt some bump dancing overnight!

Night I was told heat on the back but ice on the front for the spd pain. I use ice and paracetamol when I go to bed to numb it enough to get to sleep.
I have a tubigrip, a pelvic support band and crutches to help get me out of the house, I wouldn't be able to go anywhere without them now.
My last two weeks at work I took in my yoga ball and sat on that as sitting on any normal chair for more than 20 minutes (no matter how careful I am with my posture) makes everything seize up.
I definitely have much more pain on the days I do either too much or too little - there's a very fine line between moving too much and making every inflamed, and moving too little and everything going very stiff.
I saw a chiropractor and they manipulated my pelvis/hips back into position but it didn't actually help much. The physio just told me my hips were very stiff and I wouldn't get much relief now until birth. I am having hydrotherapy on Wednesday though, so they can do some exercises with me in the warm water that I'm unable to do otherwise. That will hopefully loosen things off a little Smile

I'm definitely entering the nesting period. Chomping at the bit to get to IKEA so I can buy a chest of drawers and wardrobe and start sorting out all the clothes I've been passed on. Apparently they will assist disabled customers, so turning up on crutches and asking someone to get the furniture onto the trolley and into the van for me should be okay?! Hope so, as DH has no time to come with me for ages!!

Nojo82 · 07/11/2016 08:03

bonkers hope baby is moving about now.

So my good nights sleep on sat night was a one off.. been up since 3am.. DH slept on sofa again!! Think he's fed up with me tossing and turning. Weird but I can't sleep without him beside me. Plus I could hear him snoring, argh!! Kids to school then I'm back to bed!!

KitKat1985 · 07/11/2016 08:56

Bonkers I hope baby started wiggling last night and gave you some reassurance. I'm sure the midwives will happily check you over if you are still concerned this morning.

Sorry to everyone not feeling that great and suffering with colds or pains. I'd been feeling pretty good up until yesterday when I managed to jar my back awkwardly (I have a long history of back problems from an old disc injury) and found myself stiffen up and get uncomfortable very quickly. I'm not as bad today but starting to feel like I'm about 80 years old.

In other news I'm 37 weeks today, so officially now classified as full term, which feels like a bit of a landmark! In some ways quite relived to know that I've made the 'safe' number of weeks now, but on the flip-side I'm really freaked about the fact that technically labour could begin anytime (although I don't feel that anything imminent is about to happen) and freaking out about labour etc.

Thisisbonkers · 07/11/2016 19:13

I ended up going in this afternoon, there were wriggles last night but not really this morning so rang triage at lunch. Got hooked up and baby decided to show me up and was perfectly fine and plenty of movement 🙄 Typical but feel happier for having been.

DartmoorDoughnut · 07/11/2016 19:22

I'm becoming convinced this one will turn up early purely because this time around we have a plan in place! Have a low level backache and he's head butting my cervix again. I've not washed any clothes yet FFS just stay put for another 4 weeks!!

Bumbleclat · 07/11/2016 19:38

dartmoor mine's regularly head butting my cervix too, is that a sign that they're getting ready to come out imminently?

I'm uncharacteristic ally focussed and on the ball at work at the moment (primary teacher) I keep getting to the end of lists and keeping up with everything which is unheard of for me!? Not sure if it's because I'm going to miss my job or I don't want anyone to think I don't care because I'm not going to be there for a while. Maybe a but of both. Actually come to think about it, I think it's because the baby has given me perspective and my best feels good enough for once.

DartmoorDoughnut · 07/11/2016 20:02

I don't think so bumble I think it's just them getting into position BUT I'm getting paranoid!

Londonmamabychance · 07/11/2016 21:33

I'm the same with getting paranoid the baby will arrive early, have so much pressure far down and today it felt like the baby was trying to push itself through the front of my belly he was kicking so frantically. I'm only just 35 weeks for God's sake! Just hope his pressure will calm down once Im off work next week and don't have to be as active as I do now.

SouthDownsSunshine · 07/11/2016 21:48

I'm convinced baby is engaging and then moving out again. Doing squats in pilates this evening it felt like baby was about to fall out, and there was space below my ribs. Then 5 minutes later baby was up at my ribs again and I couldn't bend at all! Pilates was great but gave me painful braxton hicks again. But it does help a lot with the rib and hip pain.

I have a feeling baby will come early. I didn't think so until the last few days, but now I'm sure it will! DH and I only discussed v briefly this evening what we'd do in that scenario! I think we need a better plan than we currently have.

DartmoorDoughnut · 07/11/2016 22:13

Any exercise seems to make it worse, by exercise I mean walking the dogs Grin I'll start the walk fine but by the end I'm waddling as he's moved down so much! I've phones a dog walker this evening to try and solve that issue!

Feeling really bad for my DS though, today was gorgeous weather but I was so tired and uncomfortable I just couldn't do anything so we pottered at home, he's only 2 so isn't pushing for anything but I just can't keep up with him now and I get so worried he'll hurt himself when we're out as I won't be quick enough to stop him Blush hoping to go to the beach tomorrow with him and the dogs after his playgroup in the morning to make up for today's day of boredom!

nightcap · 07/11/2016 22:30

kitch thanks again for that pelvic partnership link, it was really useful! Had a good PDF for employers so I've forwarded it to the hr dept in case I need to do more working from home.

barking sounds like you've got it much worse than me, hope it's letting up some of yet time at least. I've been much better today, was able to walk around without too much difficulty. Although this evening have been having really sore and tight stomach high up, above my belly button. If it's not one thing it's another!
