Thanks Oriana, MW went into a spiel about turning him with an ECV (which I'm not going to go with if offered). I'm madly thinking if he stays breech then a section seems like a positive option!!
That seems like a long to leave a check up, have you got any hospital appts inbetween?x

Thisisbonkers · 04/11/2016 11:22

36 week appointment this morning, need to double check what she wrote but think I measured 34? But she's clearly not worried if that is the case. Baby is engaged, I have instruction to pack my bag.

I've been getting mild period pains and back ache arrived last night. And sleep is eluding me. I'm still torn between wanting all this to be over and utter horror at it being 4 weeks away!

OrianaBanana · 04/11/2016 11:50

I have a growth scan and a consultant appointment about DD's size at 36 weeks stubble so at least I'll see someone.

Also have an appt to talk through DS's birth in 2009 a few days after that with a midwife, which I'm hoping will make me a bit more prepared for this one, if I know what happened and why!

Azure83 · 04/11/2016 13:47

I've had bi-weekly check ups from 32 weeks, it will change to weekly from 40 weeks, with birth centre tour and health visitor coming in the meantime, some extra samples and a scan for reduced movements. And all that with a very straightforward low risk pregnancy!

StubbleTurnips · 04/11/2016 13:52

The midwife said to me today they don't need to see me at 36w as I'll be seeing the consultant which is why It skips - could be the same for you Oriana. Still seems like a long time though.

Nojo82 · 04/11/2016 14:05

So after i wrote the post this morning, i vomited again followed by severe headache. So took myself in to hospital to get checked. Baby is fine, was on monitor and had growth scan. Baby measuring 4 days ahead so all good. But im still not great so ive to get a chest x-ray and ecg. Im also being admitted, waiting to see medical team..
When i phoned this morning hey told me to go to gp but i told them that i had reduced movement so told me to come up. Like wtf, the gp would have sent me to hospital anyway..

Lovewatchingrainfall · 04/11/2016 14:21

Oh no nojo glad to hear you are being checked out and being looked after. Yes the GP would more then likely sent you there.

Bigfam · 04/11/2016 14:45

KitKat1985 oh no! I tend to bleed when dp and I (ahem) go at it a bit hard Blush

Sounds horrible nojo I hope they can get to the bottom of what's causing you so many problems Flowers

What does it feel like when a breech baby turns on it's own so late in pregnancy? I imagine it must be quite painful!

OrianaBanana · 04/11/2016 14:48

Sorry to hear that nojo, hope you feel much better soon.

That might be it stubble, not sure why they don't want to see me at 34 weeks though Confused last time I saw a consultant they just looked through my notes and asked me to confirm what was on there, no examination or anything (bit of a waste of everyone's time really).

SouthDownsSunshine · 04/11/2016 14:59

My consultant appointments have been in addition to routine midwife appointments, I'm sure at this stage they'll fit you in if you want/need one.

My baby seems to engage and move out again regularly. When she's engaged I get period type pain, when she's not, I get reflux!

DD started to engage early, and midwife accurately predicted that I wouldn't need my 40 week appointment. I didn't - labour started at 38+5 and she arrived at 39 weeks. So I'd follow your midwife's advice thisisbonkers! Also, I think bumps measure smaller once baby is engaged a there's less poking out front!

Thisisbonkers · 04/11/2016 15:10

Gulp. Not ready for a potential early arrival!

Nojo82 · 04/11/2016 16:04

So im home again. Was seen by different Doctor who sent me home coz tests were clear. Now on iron tablets. She did seem to take no notice of the headache and vomiting. Just glad baby is ok, now to try and stay out if hospital until baba is due.

barkingtreefrog · 04/11/2016 17:13

That's a relief nojo and yes, waste of time going to the gp who clearly would have sent you to the hospital!!!

Bonkers I agree!! 4 weeks seems so close and so far away both at the same time!!!

Seeing my midwife next week when I'll be 35+6, not sure when I'll see her after that.
Got my 36w scan and consultant appointment the following week when I'll be 36+5, so hoping to see a pretty much fully cooked baby by then as I'll only be two days shy of 37w!!!

DartmoorDoughnut · 04/11/2016 17:39

Bambino is definitely moving down quite insistently, don't think it means anything I bloody hope it doesn't! but very uncomfortable when he does and I end up proper waddling but then he eases off again. Only 4 and a bit weeks to go, crazy!

Glad you're 'ok' nojo sounds horrible though Flowers

goinggrey1978 · 04/11/2016 20:14

DartmoorDoughnut, yes bubble has moved and is squashing my stomach as well as my bladder, feels like its feet are in the centre now rather than the right hand side where they used to be, bubble did all this moving during the night and it was most exhausting and tiring, as i barely got any sleep at all, i'm so ready for bed now!!
i've got appointments every 2 weeks now, plus extra one for my thyroid as well

DartmoorDoughnut · 04/11/2016 20:27

It's not my stomach grey he literally headbutts my cervix for a few mins then it eases off, really bloody uncomfortable though!

Talking of uncomfortable he was breach until a couple of weeks ago when he turned whilst I was walking the dogs, luckily I was by myself as it literally made me double over and swear like a sailor which I am trying to avoid doing in front of DS! In any case I wouldn't like to think how uncomfortable it would have been a few more weeks down the line

Bumbleclat · 04/11/2016 20:54

dartmoor mines doing this too it is horribly weird/uncomfortable/disconcerting isn't it! At least they're not breech!

Londonmamabychance · 04/11/2016 21:59

I'm 34 weeks and was seen by mw this week, will be seen again when I'm 37 weeks and then they said to see my GP at 39 weeks. Low risk pregnancy.

Nojo poor you feeling bad but good you got checked out and bubba is fine and nothing alarming with you. Hope you feel better soon!

Stubble my DD was breach until something like 35 weeks or even 36, can't quite remember when she turned but the thing is I did yoga to encourage her to turn, I did know she was beech from 32 weeks though so started earlier, and who knows she may have turned anyway, but it cant harm. Although, forgive me but can't remember if you're one of those struggling with spd or other issues, in that case of course it's not an option. But if not, here's some positions. yogayippie.blogspot.co.uk/2012/03/helpful-tips-to-turn-breech-babies.html?m=1

Today got some baby clothes in the post from my mum and added it to the few things I had by myself, and now bubba has his own drawer, DH's socks have been relegated to a basket under the bed. Feels good to have at least one thing done! Can't wait to get everything sorted when I finish work in one week. But also feels scary to be so close!

Bumplovin · 05/11/2016 02:03

Oh no insomnia strikes again and tomorrow we are having some pregnancy photos done think it will be cucumber over the eyes in the morning!

happydays00 · 05/11/2016 02:19

I'm with you bumplovin. Getting so bored of the insomnia now

goinggrey1978 · 05/11/2016 05:20

Unfortunately bubble has hiccups again, so waiting for them to go, so I can get some more sleep!!

barkingtreefrog · 05/11/2016 05:48

Not sleeping here either. Combination of spd pain and feeling sick. Anyone else got nausea again?
Got our first NCT class today. I emailed the lady running it and asked how much of the course would be on labour just so we knew, and said we were more interested in the after birth part - feeding, sleeping etc. She emailed back and said labour would be discussed throughout the course. No mention of any of the parenting stuff?!
I'm really hoping it was a badly worded email as I don't want to sit through an entire day of learning about labour when we've already done that at the hospital class (and are hoping it doesn't arrive early and the c section gies ahead as planned) and we want to know about the bit after the baby has arrived!! We don't mind some repetition as that was what we were expecting, but not a focus for the entire course on just labour?!
It's the NCT essentials course, has anyone else done it and can out my mind at rest?!?

happydays00 · 05/11/2016 06:58

barking I have HG so my nausea has never left, sick every day for the last 30 weeks Sad

I did the NCT essentials course - unfortunately I would say it's heavily focussed on labour. We did do small parts on the post birth and also a session on what to expect at a C Section so hopefully you will find it useful still

StubbleTurnips · 05/11/2016 07:20

barking our NCT class had one day of labour, one day of post labour things and an evening of breast feeding.

Even though they asked for input into the schedule our course leader didn't deviate from that!

StubbleTurnips · 05/11/2016 07:22

Thanks London, I am having some hip based issues so will see how mobile I am before I attempt anything Grin

Feeling for all you with insomnia, it's awful.
