bumblecat if you're planning to breastfeed beyond 6 months you'll loose he weight a lot quicker! Breastfeeding really helps weight loss, I put on 16 kg's in my last pregnancy (sorry, rubbish at pounds, lived here for 12 years but still
Can only think in kilos!) and lost 11 of them within 5 months without doing anything other than loads of walking with the buggy everyday and breastfeeding exclusively. Breastfed up to 15 months and it definitely helped keep the Pounds off.

Eskerina hope your sleep training is going well! I'm also trying to sleep train DD (2) who since we took he dummy off her 3 months ago would only fall asleep first in our bed and now we've managed to make it into only in her bed while we are in the room. Yesterday sang for her for 20 mins and then say and waited in the room for 40 mins, every time I was about to get up, the little buggar who looked completely asleep would cry out and sit up. But finally surrendered. She just needs to learn to fall
Asleep on her own, or at least faster either us in the room, or I think we'll be in for a bumpy ride when baby arrives!

I actually didn't loose any weight whilst bf'ing until he was only having it for morning/naps/bedtime. So for the first 18 months I lost nada then it started coming off. Mainly because bf'ing made me STARVING

I ate too much chocolate and cake in my desperate and sleep-deprived state to lose any weight while bfing! In fact I put on a stone

Hope the antibiotics do the trick bigfam and you have the whole family healthy again soon!

Another one not overjoyed about an extra hour of lying awake tonight! We're still on our way back from Cornwall. Due to an accident on the M5 it's been 8 hours of driving and we're still half an hour away....
On the plus side, I didn't go into early labour while at the other end of the country, which is a bonus!

DD is doing well thanks! She's started breastfeeding which everyone is amazed by at her age. She's currently asleep on me in a kangaroo cuddle. I'm getting a bit less scared of moving her about as I get used to how tiny she is.

Good luck with the clocks going back everyone, I hope all the kids adjust quickly.

Love holiday was a lovely break, thanks. DH was surfing so he went off early every morning hoping the waves were there and when they weren't he just took the dog for a run instead. I had the morning to chill and try and nap to replace the sleep I hadn't got overnight, then walked along the beach/canal with DH and the dog in the afternoon. Unfortunately we visited Tintangel Castle without realising how many steps that involved. It was a struggle despite the crutches and belt and I've been in a lot of pain since. Oops!

I slept in her room last night, it's so nice!

C section recovery is only a minor part of recovery for me. I can't remember if I said I had severe hellp syndrome, and that is seriously draining. That said, I wouldn't opt for a c section, I've found recovery a lot more painful and the lack of mobility has had a shitty impact on my SPD. But I do feel much better now! I guess it's just luck how much pain you get from any childbirth. And of course the upside is the c section saved mine and DD's lives, which makes a bit of pain nothing really!

Bigfam are there any drop in centres locally to you where you can pop in & get your bp checked? My local mothercare has a community midwife in 2 afternoons a week where you can go get checked so maybe there's something like that around you? Hope everyone got some sleep in the end.

I hate looking at how much weight I've put on, so far it's 11 kg so about 1 1/2 stone but I'm only 32 weeks & I was a larger lady when I got pregnant so I think I've put on more than I should have in the whole pregnancy already!

What's everyone putting in their hospital bags? I'm not sure what to pack aside from 3/4 baby grows for the little one - do we need to take nappies? Enjoy your tour KitKat 😁 and enjoy your massage Dartmoor - very jealous!

I put weight on breastfeeding - Lots! It fell off easily enough. I don't find a put on excess weight in pregnancy though. But breastfeeding made me so hungry and thirsty, plus lack of sleep, my diet went to pot and I ate so much cake.

Oh, seems like weight loss during breastfeeding isn't that common, then! Guess it's different for everyone. Who knows, maybe it wasn't the breastfeeding that made me loose the weight but rather all the walking I did during my year on mat leave, I'd say I probably walked at least one hour a day, very often more, because I was always going out to groups, parks and grocery shopping etc and we don't have a car and public transport in London with a buggy is a pain (busses can be okay but the tube is so difficult due to lack of lifts and often no space on busses anyway). Hmmm...either way, don't worry about weight gain, anyone! I know it's easier said than done, but we're growing little human beings and afterwards feeding them
Off out bodies, our bodies are working really hard and they're amazing, and if they out on a bit more weight, never mind!

london I have 2 dogs and - as per the name! - live in VERY hilly Dartmoor, I wore DS pretty much constantly for the first year and walked the dogs for at least an hour every day, normally two. Oh plus we live on a ridiculous hill and I walked to the shops most days coming home carrying DS and shopping. Exercise/breast feeding/whatever we're all different

Right thats it, im going to buy a new mattress. Im in total agony this morning. Can hardly walk this morning, can't cope any more.. prob got nothing to do with the mattress but worth a shot..

Nojo have you got a mattress topper?? Could be an option. We brought a mattress before falling present and ever since I have hated it. So brought a lovely mattress topper and it's been lovely.

natalie your weight gain may be about right. I was a bit overweight before getting pregnant and found this really helpful to track my weight:

I'd obviously be happy to put on an extra stone or two to have a healthy baby but it has helped me to know that I am in the right bracket with my weight gain.

Clocks going back wasn't too much of a problem, dd3 was up at half 5 (so would have been half 6)
