Oh no Solomon, but great that you're being so well monitored. I've got a heart rate monitor at home, I should maybe use it more often.

34 weeks growth scan today, and despite DS diagnosis, baby is growing perfectly well with no signs of restricted or slowing growth:) C section booked for 25 Nov, and if I naturally go into labour earlier the consultant said I wouldn't need constant monitoring, but equally, I wouldn't be allowed a water birth. Or I could choose to have a c section. It's nice to have options!

Londonmamabychance · 21/10/2016 18:25

solomon sorry to hear you are not well, but sounds like you're getting good care. At least it's good they found out.

Nojo82 · 21/10/2016 18:31

solomon hope all goes well. So ive borrowed my mum bp monitor to keep an eye on myself.

At how many weeks have people packed their hospital bags? Ive yet to get everything for it lol..

Bigfam · 21/10/2016 19:12

Damn, I think dd3 has slapped cheek. Has anyone got any experience? Do I need to contact anyone urgently or is it ok to wait til monday? What do you guys think?

December 2016 babies.... not long to go now!
Kitch82 · 21/10/2016 20:44

Might be worth ringing 111 for advice bigfam.
So today has been eventful. Baby has been a bit quiet over the last 2 days so went in for monitoring. All was good I'm just not feeling much due to anterior placenta but they decided to send me for scan to be sure. I'm 33+2 but babies head and abdominal circumference measure between 38-39. Femur length measures 37+. The sonographer got someone in for a 2nd opinion and she got exactly the same measurements. Bit shocked as fundal height has been 50th centile all the way through but estimated foetal weight is 6lb3oz. I'm booked for GTT on Monday and another scan in 3 weeks. Anyone else measured off the scale? What happened?

Nojo82 · 21/10/2016 21:45

Oh god kitch my sister had to go for a gtt late on as baby was measuring big but she was born very petite and still is. So they arent always accurate..

Ive got a very excited ds2. He has been asking so many questions about baby. I got a new changing bag yesterday so thats his new topic. So ive told him that he can be responsible for making sure we have everything we need in the bag. He is super happy and is counting down the weeks more than me..

Bumbleclat · 22/10/2016 02:34

Wide awake club here. After a 7 week term teaching 4-7 year olds full time I am exhausted!
I keep falling asleep at 8pm then being up between 1 and 5am with baby kicks and random ailments.

Has anyone else been told they gave low iron?

I've been reading that iron can't be absorbed if you take ant acid regularly - rock and hard place spring to mind Confused

Also that tea/coffee/chocolate and dairy products cause lack of absorption- I really need to focus more on my diet it's so hard when working such long hours to prioritise.

goinggrey1978 · 22/10/2016 03:35

Bumbleclat, I'll join you in the wide awake club too, bubbles favourite times are between 3am and 5am, where I just can't sleep again after a wee stop, as I can't get comfy again or bubble is fidgeting or mind is ticking over about all sorts of randomness!! I too work in a school but haven't been in since last Wednesday as antibiotics for a chest infection again gave me the runs so haven't actually managed to say good bye to my class or the rest of the school yet, although my last official day is the first day back after half term it's an inset day so need to arrange when to come in with my head teacher to say goodbye to all the children, fingers crossed we both get back to sleep soon!!

Bigfam · 22/10/2016 03:44

Bless your ds nojo I'm also awake, but have to say it's entirely my fault (puppy related!) But this is only the second time tonight he has woken, seems he can pee/poo and easily nod off again, I can't!
Sorry to hear you've got a chest infection and feel crappy goinggrey hope you're fewling better soon

AppleMagic · 22/10/2016 04:30

Hi everyone, I've been stuck in bed so had a chance to catch up on the threads!
I'm recovering from a terrible three day migraine following an eye test. On Wednesday I couldn't keep anything down so spent a few hours in maternity triage on Iv fluids being monitored. The monitor showed I was having regular contractions which is a bit stressful as I'm only 31 weeks, but they said not to worry as they weren't painful.
This is my first pregnancy living in the US and the care is ridiculously thorough. From next week I have weekly non-stress tests (as well as monthly appointments with the dermatologist, endocrinologist and nutritionist for various complications). My whole life seems to revolve around medical appointments at the moment!

Lots of sympathy for everyone having a tough time at the moment. Final stretch!

SolomanDaisy · 22/10/2016 07:03

So it turns out pre eclampsia can turn into eclampsia very quickly indeed! I had a girl by emergency c
section yesterday morning. All a bit scary, but we're both doing ok. Do watch out for symptoms, I nearly died.

barkingtreefrog · 22/10/2016 07:16

Oh my godness Solomon I bet that was terrifying, so pleased to hear she's here and both of you are okay Flowers. Congratulations!!!

Bigfam my neighbour's daughter had slapped cheek, I don't think it's an emergency to get her seen, but it is one of things you shouldn't be exposed to during pregnancy (at my school when one of the children got slapped cheek they sent the pregnant teacher home) so just look after yourself x.

excitedmummytob · 22/10/2016 07:23

Congratulations Solomon...glad you're both ok x

Bigfam · 22/10/2016 07:28

Oh my god soloman how awfully scary that must have been! I hope you make a full recovery, congratulations on the birth also hope she is doing well x

DartmoorDoughnut · 22/10/2016 07:29

Oh wow Soloman congratulations! Well done for getting checked out and admitted so quickly, super mum to the rescue already! Flowers hope you're both home soon

I'm getting kicked so hard on the top right of my bump that I'm feeling bruised

StubbleTurnips · 22/10/2016 07:40

Hope you and your DD are ok Sol, congrats Flowers

Eskerina81 · 22/10/2016 07:44

So pleased to hear you're both doing OK Soloman. Congratulations on the arrival of your little girl and I hope you both get to go home soon x

Jfw82 · 22/10/2016 07:45

Congratulations Solomon Flowers

Eskerina81 · 22/10/2016 07:50

Soloman i should also have added gefeliciteerd!

KitKat1985 · 22/10/2016 08:45

Oh goodness Soloman. Sorry you've been through all of this but congratulations on your beautiful baby girl. How are you both doing? xx

OP posts:
Thisisbonkers · 22/10/2016 08:45

Congratulations solomon how scary though!

bumble, I have iron tablets for low iron. I'm guzzling fybogel for the increased constipation, and then gaviscon for the reflux the fybogel gives me! Midwife said I was only on the cusp of needing iron (some people wouldn't be given a prescription for my count, 108, just told to alter diet) so I don't have to take it religiously. My give my poor bowels a break Blush

daisychain07 · 22/10/2016 09:09

Congratulations Solomon!

Wondering if you ladies could help me. I know we are told to keep an eye out for reduced movements but what about increased? Yesterday I am sure he did not go to sleep for the whole day (kicking constantly) and much more active than normal this morning again. Should I ring someone or is this normal?x

OrianaBanana · 22/10/2016 09:25

daisychain I would always say check with midwife but I say that about everything!

Soloman congratulations, but what a scary time that must've been! Hope you are both ok xx

goinggrey1978 · 22/10/2016 09:50

Bigfam, thanks eventually got back to sleep with some help from paracetamol!! Think some of it was excitement as I have a very busy week of all things bubble related!! Tomorrow I have an all day birthing workshop with a very good friend of mine, Tuesday i have the hospital tour I the birth centre and maternity section with my mum and Thursday I have a feeding class too!! Also my dad is going to bring over more of bubbles equipment so I can finish setting up bubbles end of my bedroom!! And finally late last night I got booked onto another paediatric first aid course at the beginning of December as I missed it last week as I was ill, so was very lucky to get a message and to get a space as well, especially as it's just 20quid!! So all very busy and very exciting too!! Hope you managed to get back to sleep again eventually??

Soloman, wow and congratulations!! Hope your both well and keep us all updated!!

Babydreaming · 22/10/2016 10:13

Congratulations Solomon!! Glad your baby girl is here safely. Sorry that it sounded so scary. I'm sure she will be a fighter :)
