Wow cant believe babies are starting to arrive..

DD is doing well and I've expressed some milk for her today! I'm still on full bed rest so not spending as much time with her as I'd like.

Basically I had diarrhea and stomach cramps which I didn't
know was a sign of
pre eclampsia. It was only when I took my own blood pressure that I called the midwife. Thank god I did cos I had a for when it developed into eclampsia later that night. We'd
probably both have died if I'd been at home.

She looks like a full term baby but really tiny and we're enjoying kangaroo care with her!

Good luck to everyone else - watch out for weird symptoms!

Glad to hear your DD is doing well Soloman. Scary how quickly things progressed for you. Did you have high blood pressure at any of your ante-natal checks? Sending you both love. x

I hadn't had any high blood pressure and I was due a midwife appointment the next day. It would have been so easy to wait until then. I didn't have any high blood pressure in my first pregnancy either, I just wasn't expecting it. I

Thanks for sharing the warning signs Solomon it must have been very scary for you. I am consultant led because my mum had preeclampsia which apparently pre disposes me to it.
Can I ask why you had your own blood pressure machine? Is this something they recommended you have?

Congratulations Solomon glad that you and DD are doing okay. Must have been a pretty scary few hours, you must be so relieved you were so vigilant with the weird symptoms, a lesson for us all I think! X

We have a blood pressure machine for my husband, who has occasionally got high blood pressure. I assumed that normally the two week apart midwife appointments would have been enough, but in fact they would have been just far enough apart to kill me!

Soloman huge congratulations on the safe arrival of your baby. It must have been very scary for you and your DH. Rest up and enjoy your newborn snuggles!

Just letting anyone know who likes the walking dead and watches it on sky (I know there's a couple!!) That they're showing the first episode of the new season at 2.30am in Fox!! I'll be using glue to keep my eyes open, but definitely wont miss it
(Obviously if you're a little less obsessed it's on tomorrow at 9pm)

Hey everyone. I had my babies this morning at 737 and 739. I really thought it was braxton hicks but were painful and wouldn't go. So came down to the hospital and I was 3cm. I had the first steroid injection and then the meds to stop labour but they didn't work. So had a c section. My boy is doing well and so is my girl but is intrabated ATM.

First picture is my baby boy, Beau who is 3lb9 and second my girl Bronte who is 3lb5. Born at 31+6

These Christmas babies seem to be getting impatient.

Has anyone else not put on a lot of weight. Since my booking in appointment I have only put on just under 2lb. I know I have not been eating loads but surely I should have put more on?
