Yes you are right very reassuring thank you . I thought I felt more and earlier first time round but that was a long time ago.

NameChange30 · 21/10/2016 14:09

I'm 21+4, first pregnancy, and I haven't felt any movements yet either. I guess there might have been some subtle movements but not enough for me to notice! It's definitely reassuring to know that others are in the same boat Smile

Carolann8584 · 21/10/2016 15:17

On a separate subject, anybody know where I can get a good baby book?

My DM did one for my older brother but didn't with me and my young Bro.

I really want to do one for our baby, with scan pic, hospital bracelet, lock of hair from first hair cut to works. Only shop I have found 1 book in was Mothercare its not a very big branch. I have found loads on amazon etc but want to hold/look through before I buy.

Carolann8584 · 21/10/2016 15:53

Something like this

MotherofA · 21/10/2016 16:20

Sure is namechange! I feel so much better now Smile
As for baby books carolann , I was bought 3 different ones as gifts with DD but I'm not sure maybe mothercare or a nice gift / book shop ? Try googling ? X

charlybs · 21/10/2016 18:40

I will look for the MIlton liquid too thank you dusty!

carolann we also just got a different car. traded in my little micra and DH's BMW for a very sensible kia. DH is a bit sad but we needed a 4 door really to get baby in and out.

I've been feeling some movement but just in the mornings when I lean on my tummy slightly. it is probably baby saying "oi turn onto your side properly" haha.

oh re baby books - I am just going to fill a scrap book so depends if you want the baby stuff that goes with a specific baby one or not. I found one once in a shop but it was a bit dated and twee and not my bag so just went with a blank book with a pretty cover.

Hiya, I don't really post on this thread much but I'm wondering about ante natal classes and bits?
I know 5 months is really late to be looking at these sort of things but I've had a lot going on personally and to top it off I'm bipolar and have been off my meds since 6 weeks which has taken a lot of work emotionally and physically with withdrawal, and I have struggled leaving the house with anxiety.
I'm only 20 and I have a lot of support from my family and my partner, but I'm panicking I should've gone too these classes and that it's now too late, wouldn't even know where to look to start going.

Cloeycat · 21/10/2016 21:19

Froglou- I'm not going to antenatal classes until the end of January so don't worrry about not having been yet. Have a look and see what the NHS are offering in your area, some of the trusts have great classes available. Where I am there's only the NCT classes which are what I'm doing they're expensive but appearently worth it.

NameChange30 · 21/10/2016 21:54

froglou
Sorry you've been struggling - I hope you're getting support from your doctor and/or a mental health professional?
It's not too late to sort out antenatal classes. There will probably be NHS classes, as Cloey said, which you could ask your midwife about. If there are no NHS classes or if you want to look into other options, there is also NCT, the Daisy Foundation, the Wise Hippo and others which might be available in your area. I'm sure you will be able to find something and it won't be too late to book. For our due dates, the classes are likely to start in January.

Happygojo86 · 21/10/2016 22:29

Frog definitely not too late to book antenatal classes, I didn't book anything last time until after my 20 week scan. NCT are expensive but as you are young they may be able to do them cheaper if you fit their criteria..... that said.... you might be better off looking into 'young mums' groups. In my area there is a group run by the children's centre for mums and mums to be under 25. Also there is a group for mums with mental health concerns in my area, I don't know much about it personally but a friend of mine goes and she says it has been really useful and she has made some great friends. Anyway.... might be worth looking into Smile

MotherofA · 22/10/2016 00:00

Froglou wow bless your heart . Sounds like you are having a tough time . I was 21 when I had my DD and not only did I not go to antenatal classes , I didn't have any friends who had children and lacked support . Don't worry you will be absolutely fine and have plenty of time . Glad you have support Smile

Danni198 · 22/10/2016 06:37

Hi everyone!

New person here... My EDD is 18/03/2017, i am 19 weeks and this is my first baby. I'm new to mumsnet so I will have to get my head round all the abbreviations Smile.

I wish I'd known about this thread from the beggining... I found the first trimester pretty rough but the second has been great so far, except I keep on getting colds! Also I can't sleep right now as my hip hurts but that isn't very usual.

I think I can feel my DC (?) moving which is rather lovely. We heard his/her heart beat this week which made me cry, I was more emotional than at the 12 week scan!

charlybs · 22/10/2016 08:44

Hi danni welcome! you're right - DC means darling child, so DH is husband etc etc.

aw hearing the heartbeat is awesome! I can't wait for my scan on Wednesday I'm literally so excited. really hope baby behaves so we can get all the measurements quickly and maybe hear the heartbeat too.

just wanted to say what everyone else has frog antenatal classes don't really start until January so you're fine!

I'm feeling very grateful that my placenta is in a normal position this time because I'm definitely feeling this one move a lot more than I felt my dd. Used to worry about her all the time for lack of movement but can feel this one loads. Had my 20 week scan and found out its a boy so that's exciting. I could tell it was a boy before she even said because I could see its man bits quite clearly 😂 I didn't really have any inclination of what I was having except for not craving sweets as much this time around. Other than that I've felt exactly as I did with dd

NameChange30 · 23/10/2016 21:24

Congrats Dozy! Smile

Carolann8584 · 23/10/2016 22:12

Congrats dozy Smile

Think I've just pulled something, crouched down to feed the dog and now my right bum cheek is killing me, can't get my leg comfy Sad

MotherofA · 23/10/2016 23:43

Congrats Dozy and welcome Dani . Strange carol I feel like that too ! Also in right bum cheek / lower back . Hopefully will ease off after a good nights sleep .

Dozygirl · 24/10/2016 09:01

Oh the joys of loose ligaments carol hope it's better today

Carolann8584 · 24/10/2016 09:16

Morning, Not as bad as last night but still feel like I'm getting booted in the bum cheek when I walk. Hopefully my lunchtime walk will loosen it up a bit

Hope everyone is feeling ok today Smile

Butterpuff · 24/10/2016 10:50

Hi Dani I have the same due date Smile

Also pleased that my placenta is better placed this time so I'm feeling loads more movement. I'm dying to know if I'm brewing a girl or a boy, but we are not going to find out! A week and a day till the next scan and I'm terrified and excited.

Our antenatal clinic has loads of posters up about various antenatal classes, for younger mums, twins, older mums, hypnobirthing, VBAC etc. and they like to book you for a class as close to due date as possible I think so that information is still fresh when you need it. So good luck finding something Froglu

BeccaSays · 24/10/2016 11:17

My scan is today! Has anyone else had twinges in their bits? I'm wondering if it's the baby kicking or resting on my cervix!
