It's funny isn't it! Other than the iced bun I haven't really fancied sugary stuff even though I'm usually a massive chocoholic. I think I've lost weight not due to the nausea but just because I haven't fancied my usual naughty snacks as much. Not worried as much about the weight this time round - first pregnancy I didn't put any on in the first trimester but by the end of the pregnancy I'd gained 10kg.

newbieho · 16/10/2016 14:18

Great news Fox, enjoy the day Smile

newbieho · 16/10/2016 14:21

I have got weird cravings - raspberries and clementines. Raspberry jam on toast - pure heaven Wink Forced my husband to cook beetroot soup yesterday - it was yummy!

mightymouse76 · 16/10/2016 14:47

newbie mmmm raspberry jam on toast!!! Good one!! Need need need. DP has sweetly gone to shops with the weirdest list of food - I'm craving meat like mad. And pickled fish. And herring roes (so hard to buy now, total nan food). Think I need some protein after weeks of carbs only?! I can bet you a million pounds I'll probably not be able to eat anything I've asked for, but I'm going to try...

LorrieJ · 16/10/2016 18:30

I'd be happy with a vat of sugar puffs right now. I don't think I've had them in nearly 20 years. Oh, for when they've gone soggy in the milk...

RasperryInAMelon · 16/10/2016 18:59

Fox good to hear you're feeling better

DH and I have been away for the weekend visiting friends, as lovely as it's been - sleeping on the floor on an air mattress and being woken up at 5.20am by their 3 year old has absolutely done me in!

I woke just before 5am this morning busting for a wee and managed to casually be sick at the same time Sad

Feeling much better today though, just tired... hubby ran me a lovely bath when we got home and popped out to get today's craving food of choice of... a Pot Noodle...

FoxMulder · 16/10/2016 19:10

Yeah mamushka everything smells bad. DS, DH, my own skin and hair, the bathroom...

AnneLovesGilbert · 16/10/2016 19:12

Some amazing food ideas going on today! I'm having a banana and oat smoothie a day, really craving protein. Nearly lost my appetite the last 2 days though, not much nausea so it isn't that. But I'm on the vitamins and fruit and dairy are enough of my food groups! As a lifelong pickle lover I'm shocked to have gone off the idea completely.

Boobs are enormous, they seem bigger every day and at their most painful first thing in the morning. They must be expanding at night! Shock

lucieloos · 16/10/2016 19:13

Has anyone not had the tiredness thing? I mean I'm going to bed a little earlier than usual but I don't have the completely shattered tiredness that I've read of where you are literally getting into bed as soon as you get home. I also don't have the smell thing either just queasiness pretty much all the time.

AnneLovesGilbert · 16/10/2016 19:14

And yes to the smells. It's like most things smelled horrendous but you only realise when you're pregnant.

Thankfully DH still smells lovely but just about everything else, inc DSC and the cat smell off Hmm

ginandcake · 16/10/2016 19:26

Hi ladies, has a really busy few days with DD1s birthday and family staying. Everyone has now left and I am laying on the sofa feelinf like a whale. Do not have the energy to move, despite the mountain of ironing and school bags that need packing and general mess everywhere!

Badgerbird · 16/10/2016 19:58

Hey anne just a thought but you could add a scoop of peanut butter or pea or whey protein powder to your smoothie for extra protein kick if that's what you're looking for :) I made loads of protein packed smoothies when ttc as good for eggs and endo lining ;)

AnneLovesGilbert · 16/10/2016 20:12

gin take it easy! Where you can let someone else pick up the slack Smile

Good thinking badger, I had a banana, pb and cocoa one a while back but have been distracted by frozen fruit and oat ones, must try that again! Thank you.

Badgerbird · 16/10/2016 20:26

Mmmmmmm PB, banana, cocoa..... one of my faves Smile

mighty did you manage to eat any of the goodies other half got you? Mines cooking me a roast right now :) ps you totally missed out on screwfix trip ;)

fox did the sickness hold off today? Hope so!

lucie my energy is different daily but generally much more tired than usual! Cried coz so tired today, had loads to do and felt useless! I'm normally a very busy active person. Bloody hormones!!

Flingmoo · 16/10/2016 20:28

I'm glad I'm not the only one with the smell thing. My toddler smells so weird, especially if he's got a bit sweaty during his nap, and almost has that weird "ill person" smell. His breath smells like fish to me as well. It's so sad I just want to enjoy cuddling him Sad

I didn't have this issue during my first pregnancy.

Adventuregame · 17/10/2016 09:16

Feeling much better this week (9+5). Boobs are still a bit sore but sickness seems to have settled. 12 week scan in 2 weeks. Just want to fast forward really - feel like i'm in limbo ?

FoxMulder · 17/10/2016 09:36

I'm on my own with my toddler for the first time since getting sick today. I don't know how I will manage!

FoxMulder · 17/10/2016 09:37

Dying for a scan too to see if there is really anything in there or if I'm just dying.

RasperryInAMelon · 17/10/2016 10:13

Fox when have you got your scan? Mines on Wednesday, apparently regardless of the info I've given my midwife which pretty much shows I'm approx, 8+5 today she thinks I could be 15 because of how big I am already so she's booked me a scan for this week. No doubt I'll need to go back at c.12 for another to have my downs tests etc

KentCat · 17/10/2016 10:29

Hi,

Nope people don't mind me joining the thread. I'm 11+6 due May 2nd.

Due to appointment availability I've got to wait till next Monday for my c.12 scan. I'm getting so nervous. I've had a relatively symptom free pregnancy to date, I've been tired had some heartburn in an evening and my nipples get so painful with the slightest bit of cold but otherwise I've been fine. Having got past the initial excitement of being pregnant guess I'm just feeling a little loss, just want the scan to confirm the little one is there and all is well.

Anyone else feel the same?

FoxMulder · 17/10/2016 10:31

Saturday raspberry. Will be interesting to see the date they give you based on that!

Just gone to have a shower and remembered that our water is off today! Aargh!

FoxMulder · 17/10/2016 10:35

Yes kent the wait is getting very hard now.

RasperryInAMelon · 17/10/2016 10:36

Not long now then Fox

I know! I explained that my first day of my LMP was June 17th after I came off the pill. Only got married on August 13th and we went back to condoms up until August 8th so at most by Weds I'd be c.10 but I did a test on August 28th which was negative so could even be less than I think. Who knows!

Like everyone else, I just want to see the scan and hopefully hear a heartbeat just to confirm that everything is ok.

Strange how in such a short space of time you can make a connection with your baby Smile

Niks2026 · 17/10/2016 11:10

Just back from my 12 week scan. Saw baby wriggling around. It's so bizarre that you cant feel any of the movement yet baby is stretching out and kicking away. They've moved my date forward by a couple of days so me EDD is29th April.
