Rabbity what's this Emma's thing you talk of?...

Adventuregame · 13/10/2016 15:40

Talulah glad you're feeling better too. I'm on the same EDD as you and 9+1 today and feel fine !! Worryingly nice to not feel as drained !!

Rasperry I got my 16 wk app made during my booking in as well. Fluid intake - do you like squash ? I'm on apple and pear squash all day !!

Adventuregame · 13/10/2016 15:42

I got the Emma's Diary thing last year with my pregnancy that ended in mmc but not been given one this year ? I think it was the gp who gave it me last time ? It's basically just a load of info done in the style of someone's diary but there are vouchers etc in it

JulyLady7 · 13/10/2016 15:48

Talulah and Adventure I'm one day behind you (by scan dates) and I feel better too! I was a wreck on the weekend and vomited for the first time on Monday. Now I don't feel as queasy but I'm encouraged your scan sipper if your symptoms eased a couple weeks ago.

teainbed · 13/10/2016 15:56

They don't test for pregnancy in your booking appointment! The sticks they use look for glucose, protein, blood etc but not HCG.

Great news Sipper!

Welcome Difficult and fingers crossed for your scan and things, it must be a worry not knowing how pregnant you are.

RasperryInAMelon · 13/10/2016 16:06

Adventure I do, problem is, I sit on my bum all day in an office and only get up to pee or eat... I'm so lazy Confused

Adventuregame · 13/10/2016 16:19

Me too Rasperry ! London commute and office work - urgghhhh

mightymouse76 · 13/10/2016 16:25

raspberry I'm on fruit juice but nothing too acidic (orange makes me feel rough afterwards). Pineapple or Apple seems to work a treat though, and I water or ice cube it down sometimes to deal with the sweetness. My teeth will prob fall out eventually but I'll be hydrated and high on vit c, and it hopefully makes up for that fact that no green veg has passed my lips for 3 weeks

Rabbitykins55 · 13/10/2016 16:28

Raspberry it was something I registered for online, they email you vouchers that you exchange at Boots or Argos.

AnneLovesGilbert · 13/10/2016 17:02

But tea how do they know you're really actually officially definitely pregnant? Do they check for it in the first round of bloods?

teainbed · 13/10/2016 17:05

No they don't do it on your bloods either. It's pretty rare to get someone not pregnant booking into the clinic. If you've done a home test and it's positive you're pregnant there's no need to do anything more. The reason we get booked early these days is so they can get the diet and smoking and folic acid advice in sharpish. If you had bleeding or cramps you'd go to EPU and there they'd check your bloods. For everyone else there's the 12 week scan that confirms gestation and viability.

AnneLovesGilbert · 13/10/2016 17:33

True, I don't know why it occurred to me as a possibility, seems so daft. I guess it's just so labour intensive for the NHS with the appointments and paperwork and tests, I felt like they had a right to some proof first Grin

trinityrabbit · 13/10/2016 18:25

lush to see some people managing to feel a bit better, and lots of good scans... raspberry hot blueberry/blackcurrant squash has been my saviour, the posh squash with no sweeteners.

I had some beige/brown cm yesterday which freaked me out..but think it was from dtd the other day which felt a bit tender...has stopped now and back to normal cm so hopefully all ok. Was going to book a scan for today but it's full until next week now, when I've been looking there have been same day appointments all the time..now suddenly super busy! Typical! NHS not til 8th Nov.

stationaryace · 13/10/2016 18:33

I remember being surprised last time that no-one actually verified I was pregnant. Seemed funny that everything else is questioned but that is taken as gospel.

Got my scan date through today - 28th October but it's at the maternity hospital and not our local clinic (one of the docs is trained as a scanner so normally all are done there for our area). Not sure why the change in location but I have another mw appointment on tuesday so I guess I could bring it up then. Means we'll need to decide if we're telling my parents in advance as the hospital scanning department are much less toddler friendly than the local gp.

Think I'm moving away from general nausea and on to the eat-everything-in-sight stage. Must have self control. Was diagnosed with GD last time so spent the last trimester feeling starving as the NHS diet info was useless so I didn't eat much.

Brightsmoke · 13/10/2016 20:35

Urgh nausea has hit me again tonight. I've had nearly a week off, but tonight I'm hungry but the thought of food is making me feel sick :(

Someone remind me why I'm doing this please 😫Sad

WishIWasSleeping · 13/10/2016 20:42

I feel exactly the same Bright!
Really fancied some chip shop chips at about 3 today, obviously didn't have any as I didn't really think that should be my first food after 3 days of not eating so I had toast and now I feel awful! Envy
Much fun!

RasperryInAMelon · 13/10/2016 21:03

Wish I'm the complete opposite... I can't stop eating! Problem is, all I'm craving is utter crap!

WishIWasSleeping · 13/10/2016 21:08

First time round I slept pretty much for the first three months, then proceeded to eat my entire weight in crap and chocolate and takeaways whilst making myself eat veg at least twice a week - I don't know how I didn't get GD...! - for the rest of the pregnancy. Being pregnant in the cold and over Christmas wasn't fun! But I lost all the weight I put on without trying in the first couple of months so I say go for it! The only rule I stuck to was 5 pelvic floors for every bite of chocolate or crap food! Grin

MissMooMoo · 13/10/2016 21:09

Im generally ok in the days now for food but I absolutely can not eat in the evenings.
I feel so sick and have horrible acidy burps.

Streaky17 · 13/10/2016 21:18

Ooh is it worth signing up for free stuff or do you just get bombarded by spam?

My nausea has only come on this evening after feeling OK all day. Eugh!

lalaland1985 · 13/10/2016 21:32

I work in the public sector and remember one of the service users saying she was pregnant. I contacted her gp and right enough she had told them she was pregnant but didn't test. She had had her booking in appointment (that's how I knew about the 'pregnancy') and they had not tested her. She had a diagnosed borderline personality disorder and I contacted her psychiatrist. She asked her two days before her dating scan if she would mind giving a urine sample before her first perinatal appointment. The test was negative. She still went to the scan. No sign of anything. The GP should really test!

I went back to work today and I am so so tired. Counting down to my scan on the 21st!

Sipperskipper · 13/10/2016 21:32

Thanks for all the nice words all. Hope those with scans & appts coming up all have good news.

Can't stop looking at the pics, I just can't believe its in me!

Streaky17 · 13/10/2016 21:52

Wow lala!
Sometimes I don't believe I'm pregnant but then I rub my expanding belly.

LorrieJ · 13/10/2016 22:05

I'm glad to read everyone is progressing nicely.
Does anyone else's temperature fluctuate? I nearly had a funny turn at the ophthalmologists this evening I felt so hot.
I'm still holding the vomit at bay thankfully. I do seem to have settled in to a routine of heavy nausea from waking until 11, followed by dead tiredness and mild nausea until c.5, at which point the heavy nausea kicks back in. It's not helped by the sense of smell thing which I managed to avoid first time around as I had constant rhinitis instead. Cute wee beastie at the end of it all, right?
