Long overdue response, but my scan is through a pregnancy crisis clinic where I have friends, so I get to see inside for free(yay!).

Though this is not my situation:
They do free scans early on for teen mothers in shoddy situations who are unsure if they are keeping the baby, just to show them it exists and discuss options.

lilly also try the pregnancy sickness support website.

I'd love a scan...I'm 8 weeks today. Can't justify the cost though. That's 2 weeks wages for me. Except this week because I was too sick to go in so I got nothing.

I feel for you all with nausea. Was in an awful state yesterday. Could hardly stomach anything. I'm so glad I woke today with much less nausea. However the tiredness is horrific and I've a head cold too. I'm just misery at the moment! Glad so many have had scans. Did with my last 2 but don't think I will this time. My scan is booked for 12wks exactly.

My private scan is only £39- I used the company last year and they were very good and professional so I can't really complain about the price. Feeling awful today- according to nhs I'm 8weeks today but I think my scan will show I'm a little behind (so disheartening to lose days you think you've already done!) but healthy baby is all that matters!

Beach got a cold here too. Paracetamol and honey and lemon are helping. Would love a hot whisky though!

Thank you for the various replies. I'm pleased to say I have eaten a little more today which is good. I know I feel better after eating it's just so hard when you think it's going to come straight back up. I'll have a look at the website, try and get some bands and I will also consider the GP if I'm really struggling to eat. I guess it's all such a shock, I breezed through my last pregnancy so I really wasn't expecting this. It really does help being able to talk about it on here. I hate having to pretend everything is fine in RL when I just want to curl up from the nausea. Only 6+4 today...so long to go!

It's nice to hear others are having scans already, although I don't think I'll be paying for an early one. I'll try and be patient and wait.

Things I can eat - ice lollies. Apples if sliced and very cold. Chicken supernoodles. And only these with difficulty.
I'd forgotten how hideous this sickness is! And only a week ago I was wishing for it as well.
At not even 8:30pm I'm off to bed, hopefully a good nights sleep might help. Rock and roll.

What's everyone else up to this Saturday night?

I caved and went to the private scan place today. Only 6 weeks so should've waited, but as I'm not sure of my dates I thought might be ok. They saw a sack and a yolk but no fetal pole. Hopefully just too early but it also might be not viable. Am feeling really, really tired, and sick so hoping everything is going ok and my dates are a bit out (I'm not sure of them anyway tbh). I need another scan in a week to see if things are progressing. Fingers crossed.

Anyone else crampy tonight? No bleeding or anything but it is hard not to worry. I have an underactive thyroid and when I saw my gp after my bfp I suggested we get my bloods checked, we did that and tsh was 3:85, it needs to under 2 to maintain pregnancy. Gp increased my medication but am concerned it is not enough, levels over 2 can result in miscarriage, I get my bloods rechecked in 2 weeks at gp's and medication can be further increased! 8 weeks today and no scan until 11 weeks 3 days how am I suppose to last? Hope your all having avoid Saturday x

Glad you're feeling a bit better Lilly. For me the nausea has started to lessen a little (I'm 9+4 today)but suddenly feeling exhausted, put the kids to bed at 7, had a little lie down on the bed and have just woken up! Going to get in my PJs and go back to sleep I think.

Hope you get your levels sorted 4, that extra stress must be hard. I'm still crampy on and off.

I gained two days on my scan Sonnet, was really excite by that, DH couldn't understand why!

icunt try and hang in there Hun, at that early dates can easily be a bit out and so much growth can happen in a week. Try and stay positive and keep your brain busy this week!

You lot are getting me worries I haven't really had much nausea, hope this isn't a bad sign.

Those suffering with nausea and sickness, I purchased the anti sickness bands from boots yesterday, and whilst I can't garauntee they work, I had no nausea at all yesterday and managed to eat full meals for the first time in a while! Definitely worth the purchase

Thanks peach. I'm a bit further along than you, 8+5 at scan. They also asked me to bring notes, but didn't want/need to see them so don't worry too much! Let us know how it goes :)

Morning all
Tired this end - had to go to a client charity ball last night, ended up out parting till 4am this morning - don't know how I did it as I was ready for bet at 11!
It was a weird one - being out and not drinking, had water all night with the odd Diet Coke - one colleague ended up guessing I am pregnant because I wasn't drinking. Bless him he then helped me cover it up from the others. It helps that I don't need drink to make me dance all night!

Today is most def a sofa day with my doggies, sleeping and catching up on some tv! Hope all is well on MN land xx

Awesome job Mrspage and Brightsmoke - woohoo for eating and partying, lol! I'm helping babysit for a friend next week and I really, really wish I hadn't agreed. I honestly don't know how I'm going to get through the day chirpily amusing and carrying around a baby! I just want to hide under the duvet with a sick bowl!

Morning all. Hope everyone's starting today feeling ok. 7+1 here.

Booking appointment on Tuesday, going to ask to have an early scan with nhs and if not will book a private one for next week..only £40 where I live so not too much.

Not having too many symptoms, mostly tired, have a slight off stomach in the morning but wears off pretty quick.

But I do have stretch marks already!!! I think it must be due to the bloating I get at the end of the day. Had them early with my last pregnancy even though the babies stopped growing at 5.5 weeks (mc discovered at 12 week scan). Anyone else getting stretchmarks this early?!

Also is anyone feeling emotional? Was reading some other threads earlier and feeling really weepy, haven't noticed anyone mention the hormones making them too emotional so far on the thread.

Small rant.... Moving house this weekend... For obvious reasons I am avoiding the heavy lifting but have been working bloody hard packing boxes etc while dreaming of my bed and a handily placed sick bucket... So my OH (who I normally love dearly ish) finds me having a rest and says "I know you're tired but we're both in the same boat and we just have to crack on". You pardon??!!! I wouldn't be unreasonable to throw anything breakable at the wall in a fit of rage and then hide somewhere comfy with a duvet... Would I?!

Morning all.
Trinity I am an emotional mess. Early scan tomorrow due to a week of spotting and mild pain. I'm terrified but hopeful that even though it's been a week now, it hasn't got any worse. Found out yesterday a friend is pregnant (about 4 weeks behind me). I'm pleased for them but can't be excited for them yet until I know everything is OK for us. At least tomorrow afternoon I'll know either way.

Trinityrabbit - about a week ago (so 7w) I was getting really down in the afternoons / evenings. Just wanted to go to bed and feel sorry for myself. Has eased a bit now, fortunately!

Scan went well- as expected due to late ovulation I am 7+5 instead of nhs' calculator saying 8+1. Nice healthy heartbeat and everything looking as it should! Phew!
