They won't do much for you if you're not actually being sick I'm afraid. They'll tell you to try natural remedies (ginger, travel bands, eat little and often...) and that's it. They are reluctant to prescribe unless you have that horrendous vomiting condition that I can't remember the name of.
I asked last time about it as I was awfully nauseous (threw up maybe 10 times) and the midwife just smiled patronisingly and told me to suck it up basically!!

EsmesBees · 01/10/2016 07:16

Have you tried sea sickness wrist bands Lily? You can get them from Boots. I had to resort to them last time when j couldn't stop throwing up. This time I feel very nauseous but have only actually been ill once, but it is still early days.

Nice to hear about all the heartbeats on scans. Fingers crossed for you Jon. I had intermittent red bleeding last time and all was fine. Although the worry at the time was horrid.

Calphurnia · 01/10/2016 07:45

Is anyone not showing??

I need to not tell work til as late December as possible..!

I'm not feeling too sick & managing to do my usual exercise, which I'm hoping will help

And I've ordered some support leggings & jeans. Am I deluded?

Brightsmoke · 01/10/2016 07:55

Scan day for me today, been awake since silly o clock. Genuinely terrified of what will happen after small bleed in the week, but I'm hoping everything will be fine. Fingers crossed for me please

Calphurnia · 01/10/2016 08:05

FX Brightsmoke

PeachIcedT · 01/10/2016 08:09

Brightsmoke fingers crossed all is well for you today. I hope you get some peace of mind.

Calphurnia I'm not showing yet, although my clothes are tighter. I'm still exercising twice or week else people may suspect! And like you am trying to keep quiet as long as possible because of a potential promotion (which is taking ages to be put out).

Toying with booking an early scan tomorrow... just to put my mind at ease

Sonnet18 · 01/10/2016 08:10

Good luck brightsmoke. I have my scan tomorrow morning and I am really nervous too. Let us know how you get on!

iCoCo · 01/10/2016 08:15

Fx brightsmoke for today.

calphurnia I'm not showing at all I'm 9 wks tomoz. I've not put on any weight, but if I follow my mums weight gain, I'm about to become huge.

Calphurnia · 01/10/2016 08:36

Peach and CoCo that's reassuring!

12 week scan booked for 15 November which feels an age away, booking in appointment is 13 October, not long at all

Tiredness is the main symptom now. I could happily get into bed at 5 pm

LillyBugg · 01/10/2016 08:38

Eurgh really they won't do anything? I've managed two small bites of weetabix this morning and some sips of water. I just don't see how this can continue!

Haven't tried the bands, I was even in Boots yesterday. I'll have to see if I can get some.

Good luck for the scan bright.

Sonnet18 · 01/10/2016 08:45

Not much they can do really! It's horrible, I really feel for you. I suffered terribly last time...no real symptoms this time which is why I'm a bit worried!! I used the travel bands- not sure if they helped but worth a try!

peasandquiet · 01/10/2016 09:06

Morning ladies, nausea is horrible, I'm back to the remedy I used in first pregnancy which is a massive breakfast every morning as it settles my tummy very hard to force it down tho. I'm desperate for this not to be as bad as my last pregnancy as I didn't stop throwing up till 30 weeks and then still felt sick the whole way! Will be a long 8 months feeling like this.

peasandquiet · 01/10/2016 09:07

And hope those having scans this weekend all go well. No luck persuading my DH that we should get one.

Calphurnia · 01/10/2016 09:16

I've heard good things about the sickness bands, and they're drug free, so worth a no risk try?

mommathatwearspink · 01/10/2016 10:07

Can I join you please ladies? 9w today with baby #2. Due 6 May 2017 I think... my dates keep changing.
I've had 3 scans so far (2 EPU & 1 private) due to some bleeding at the beginning and slow Fetal heart rate. Our last scan on Thursday showed our baby doing well. I was feeling quite nauseous at the beginning but that seems to have gone, my lack of symptoms are causing me some anxiety... I feel much much more anxious this time than I did with DD.

ICuntSeeYourPoint · 01/10/2016 11:21

Lillybug please eat, morning sickness is so much worse when you're hungry. I know it's gross eating when you feel sick, but you'll feel much sicker if you don't. If you can't keep water down they'll prescribe something because it's the dehydration they're worried about, other than that they avoid prescribing anything if possible.

Good luck to everyone with scans this weekend, hopefully lots of fab potato-looking scans and strong heartbeats! Am trying to wait another week before booking a private scan (6 weeks now), but anxiety is so bad this time. I worried a bit with my first, a lot with my second, and constantly with this one!

FoxMulder · 01/10/2016 11:23

lilly call the doctor, seriously. They will help you. I went to see mine to get drugs as soon as I found out I was pg, before I was feeling sick based on how awful it was in my last pregnancy and she had no hesitation prescribing some. I wasn't a massive puker (1x a day) but the nausea is worse I think. At least with being sick you get momentary relief from feeling like you need to be sick. The meds I was prescribed didn't work, and I am on my 3rd kind now and finally I am just about managing. I still feel sick all the time but it's like I can cope with it now...as long as someone brings me food every hour.

talulahbelle · 01/10/2016 12:43

So lunch today - mozzarella/toast sandwiches. Bland, beige.
I did force myself to eat an apple earlier and feel much better and less sick than yesterday. Still shattered though. DD being challenging.

Sonnet18 · 01/10/2016 12:54

I've spewed today! I actually feel happy about it as I was getting really concerned! DD also being challenging...not happy with anything I give her and wants to climb all over me and scream in my ear...
My lunch was a dairylea triangle on a cream cracker. Feel ok after it!

ImYourWomanJonSnow · 01/10/2016 13:20

brightsmoke hope it all went well today, fingers crossed for you

jennymac31 · 01/10/2016 13:31

Afternoon ladies

Hope you're all well.

Journey back from holiday yesterday wasn't too bad but was sick after the taxi ride back from the airport. Still felt a bit jet-lagged and nauseas and was sick when I got up this morning.

Anyone starting to have food cravings? Despite feeling sick I had a massive hankering for a steak pie and chips last night and really want steak pie again now!

Brightsmoke · 01/10/2016 13:49

Back from the scan. Baby is perfect size for the original due date. Saw it's little heart beating away. Was having a good old wriggle and lifting its arms and legs up and down! I'm so relieved! £100 well spent! If anyone is debating it, do it! It's WELL worth the relief!!

Brightsmoke · 01/10/2016 13:49

Oh and my 12 week scan has come through, Friday 28th :)

4sacharm · 01/10/2016 14:01

Fantastic news bright it must be such a relief. I got my booking appointment and scan appt today not until the 25 th of Oct I will be nearly 12 weeks, it feels like forever! We are trying to move house so no why my husband will agree. But am going to pick my battles because I want to get the harmony test, so paying for that privately will cost alot so will wait for that! Am feeling so rough today! X

PeachIcedT · 01/10/2016 14:46

That's great brightsmoke! I'm so pleased for you. I'm pleased you found it money well spent - I caved and booked for £100 too. I feel like I just need to know as depending on the result being positive or negative will affect some major life decisions in the near future. I'm amazed I could book for as soon as tomorrow. Only going to be either 7 or 8 weeks (unsure on when I ovulated) and they said after I booked to bring my notes with me, not possible when I haven't yet had my booking in appointment.
