Anyone else Due June 2017?

1000 replies

pinkiponk · 21/09/2016 20:40

BFP last Friday, will (hopefully) be my second child, as have a 2 year old DS already. Doctor said I was due 2 June Smile
Feeling very excited, but quite nervous as had a MMC before DS, so noticing when symptoms have gone/come back!
Also finding it hard not being able to talk to anyone in RL (obviously DH knows).
Anyone else got this news recently and care to join? Smile

I've switched to decaf as I did last time and feel it's only fair to do the same again Smile
Hope everyone's having a good day... not many symptoms here really except waking for a wee at 3am so it's all good at the mo

themoonandsixpence · 13/10/2016 13:10

Really, do PG tips do decaf? And do they taste exactly the same or is it something you adjust to?

haveacupoftea · 13/10/2016 13:14

I've been taking decaff tea and coffee but allow myself a coke once a day Blush

I've vomited yesterday and today, it seems to kick off around 11am and go on to 3pm! I am still not convinced its not all in my head!

I've told everyone now, I am not a good secret keeper Blush FX all continues to go well.

I have one strong coffee or a couple of weak ones, or Coke. Last time I went completely off coffee because the smell made me feel sick, so I'm enjoying it while I can.

Tbh, I take so many tablets that I just can't see the risk of eating soft cheese or drinking caffeine or getting in a hot tub as that major in comparison to what I'm pumping around my body just to stay alive. So I'm pretty cavalier about it and think if it's meant to be it'll be, as DS obviously was.

Lesley0912 · 13/10/2016 13:48

Hi ladies. I am tentatively joining you. I got a BFP last Sunday. It was very unexpected as I have been on the pill for 10 years! Me and my boyfriend had recently up as well so it has been a hard couple of weeks. I have a 10 year old daughter already but this feels very new as it was so long ago. I haven't had any symptoms yet other than sore boobs on and off. I am slightly worries about my lack of symptoms as with DD I had HG but I don't know when that started as I wasn't too sure on my dates with her. I have my booking in appointment on 28th October so now it's just the waiting!

VeganMama83 · 13/10/2016 13:55

Welcome Lesley!

Re:caffeine that everyone is mentioning I have decaf green tea as I have 4-5 big cups a day (as well as 2 litres of water). I was drinking decaf as long as I can remember as it kept ds up if I drank loads of non decaf as he's bf.

VeganMama83 · 13/10/2016 13:56

Ooh 5+2

Lesley0912 · 13/10/2016 14:22

Oh I forgot that as well

Has anyone thought about when to take maternity leave? I think I will go off mid April, give myself time to myself and to get things done before EDD 2 June. Then back to work mid January. But I am on a fixed contract which ends March 2018 so come January I will only have a couple of months of work and will be looking for something else - something part time probably.

My job is very stressful so I content myself when i'm getting it tight by planning my mat leave!

Skee · 13/10/2016 14:27

Hello Lesley, sorry to hear you've been having a tough couple of weeks Flowers

Tbh - I mostly drink decaf tea, but I need to drive quite a lot with my job, so occasionally have a coffee if I felt tired on a long journey. It's good to know I can have a small coffee on the days I'm feeling tired. Smile

userabcname · 13/10/2016 14:54

Just to join the caffeine talk - I have switched to decaf tea and coke (although can't keep tea down at the mo so it's less of an issue) and I don't really taste a difference. I usually have decaf tea in the evenings anyway so maybe I'm used to it.

Also had my first appointment with the midwife today (mainly just admin and general info) but interestingly she didn't mention caffeine in the food dos and don'ts which surprised me. I think maybe lack of caffeine is partly why I'm so tired all the time!

Next appointment in 2 weeks!

MumofthreeandBean · 13/10/2016 14:54

I don't drink coffee but have decaf tea - not much of it though as it seems to turn my tummy right now 🙄

I am self employed so need to work as long as I can before maternity leave, dreading telling some of my clients as I know they won't cope without me for a few months!!

Looking forward to midwife in a week and getting a scan date!!

peaceloveandbiscuits · 13/10/2016 15:36

My boss is 22mo and a real bastard so don't think I'll be allowed any maternity leave Grin

Alb1 · 13/10/2016 15:45

Hello! I'm going to attempt to join, but I don't normally manage to keep up with the big threads so il probably be more of a lurker.

I'm 4+2 or 3, due around June 19th but il be being induced between 37-38 weeks so first week of June really Smile

I stuck on decaff tea after my last pregnancy luckily so the caffeine switch hasn't been a big deal for me thankfully!

Sixisthemagicnumber · 13/10/2016 15:54

That made me laugh peace. My boss is 12 months old and the assistant bosses are 13 and 15 so no mat leave for me either Grin

I have a pram porn problem already and keep looking at people's double prams when I am out and about to see what looks nice and practical (will need a double as dc3 will only be 21 months when dc4 is due).

Sixisthemagicnumber · 13/10/2016 15:57

Welcome alb1. Blue dye test was right then!

peaceloveandbiscuits · 13/10/2016 16:03

I want a Mountain Buggy Duet but will wait and see how mobile DS is by then. He'll be 2.6. We walk everywhere, though, because I don't drive, so if I want to get anywhere in a hurry I'll need them both in a pushchair!

Alb1 · 13/10/2016 16:14

six it was! Im still doing tests every day and comparing lines like a crazy person, but there deff all positive Grin

VeganMama83 · 13/10/2016 16:46

Getting ready for work now but will join in on the pushchair lust later!

KittyVonCatsington · 13/10/2016 17:03

Welcome Lesley and alb1!

I knew you would always come to my rescue Retro Wink

Those who are waking up at 4am constantly-it's shit now but you will be super prepared when the baby comes and you're doing night feeds-think it's nature's way of getting us prepped!

Feel like I have the hangover from hell today. Am definitely pregnant!! Grin

Buggy-wise, I just gave away my lovely Stokke Xplory but totally impractical for two to a very deserving friend, so will stick with my Maclaren and get some gorgeous slings instead. Loved having DD in a sling-we still use the back carrier for her!

MoonlightMojitos · 13/10/2016 17:36

six it's my first but I'm still dreading telling people, especially work. Me and dp have been together 6 years but we only moved in together 3 months ago (due to money) so I can already imagine the comments. Also I know alot of people in work won't take it well especially as I recently had a promotion.

skee do you have any pregnancy apps? I have ovia and it's very good at some things like it has a symptom checker which is very reassuring. Also food and medicine checker.

moon I drink pg tips decaf in work (have done for years) and Yorkshire tea decaf at home (the best) it honestly tastes the same. No one can ever tell when they come round, I don't tell them I only have decaf lol.

Welcome lesley!

tea I'm already planning my maternity leave lol. Luckily my holiday year starts 1st April so I'm planning on taking a few weeks holiday at full pay before maternity leave. I'm the same, very stressed and today I was thinking only 6 and a bit months to go!

Oh God I have no idea when it comes to prams or anything else baby related at all! I'm going to need lots of research, advice and a shopping list!

6 weeks today :)

MoonlightMojitos · 13/10/2016 17:39

Oh also, my nausea kicked in a few days ago and the only thing that helps is eating so I'm permanently grazing all day. I'm so worried about getting huge already. I know it's something I really shouldn't worry about as long as baby is healthy but I have no self restraint so I'm so worried once I start I won't be able to stop piling it on after getting used to so much extra food. I'm a healthy size 10 at the moment but I think I'll be the size of a whale in a few months time. I'm so knackered as well that I cannot face exercise although I know I should be. All I can think about by 5 o'clock is sleeping.

Skee · 13/10/2016 17:49

Mojitos - me too! I got super fit over the summer, got into triathlon and open water swimming... and now I'm terrified of putting all the weight back on! I'm upper size 12, and I feel like my 14 clothes will be necessary soon, and it's not down to any sort of bump Blush

Ach well, I've got some may leave to get rid of it again!

goes to download pregnancy app

Skee · 13/10/2016 17:49

*mat leave

MoonlightMojitos · 13/10/2016 17:55

Wow skee fair play! Triathlons! I have never been particularly fit but I was forcing myself to do spinning and hiit classes until recently and now there's no way 😂. I'm telling myself I'll get into swimming and pilates once the tiredness is over!
