Anyone else Due June 2017?

1000 replies

pinkiponk · 21/09/2016 20:40

BFP last Friday, will (hopefully) be my second child, as have a 2 year old DS already. Doctor said I was due 2 June Smile
Feeling very excited, but quite nervous as had a MMC before DS, so noticing when symptoms have gone/come back!
Also finding it hard not being able to talk to anyone in RL (obviously DH knows).
Anyone else got this news recently and care to join? Smile

Oh what a busy day - I need to catch up!

Great news purple and I hope you had a nice break mojitos!

Thanks for all of the early scan advice - I'll hold off for week 7 Smile

Funny how I was complaining this morning of lack of symptoms, tonight I've got cramps that really feel like I'm going to get my period Sad

Although, my mind has been put at ease a little when I read that some of you have been feeling the same?

I feel like a lunatic ShockGrin

RetroHippy · 13/10/2016 07:07

Was a little concerned this morning when it occurred to me that by 5 weeks last time I was having to sleep hugging a pillow because my boobs were so sore. This time round - fine.

Then I got up and feel like I've been shotting tequila into the early hours Grin

I am also eating like a horse and loads more thirsty than usual. I think I'm 6 weeks tomorrow.

RetroHippy · 13/10/2016 07:08

Kitty, On my way! Bit worried about toddler + bump too, but at least in the early days they are well snuggled down in your pelvis. So protected for a bit from flying feet and fists!

RetroHippy · 13/10/2016 07:09

Wtf?! I have no idea where on my way' came from Hmm

Pretty sure I didn't type anything there!

MoonlightMojitos · 13/10/2016 07:24

poppy if you Google which guide you can search the options in your area and it tells you some stats and what they have there etc. Might help you narrow it down. The main other thing really is just if you want midwife led unit or hospital.

skee the cramps are definately normal, it's the increased blood flow and everything stretching in there! As long as they don't get really bad.

Sixisthemagicnumber · 13/10/2016 07:58

Is anybody else dreading telling people? I don't plan to tell anyone other than close family and will just let other people figure it out as I grow. Last time I was pregnant some people reacted quite negatively. We got questions like 'was it planned', 'why such a big age gap' and people telling us 'I hope this is the last one' or 'surely that's enough babies now'. This will be dc4 so I expect the reactions will be even worse this time around.
I don't know why people can't simply just say 'congratulations'! DH will have to tell his employer as he will need paternity leave but I know that he isn't looking forward to telling them.

Sixisthemagicnumber · 13/10/2016 08:01

DH even had some people who were rude enough to tell him he needs to get the snip after dc3 Shock

MundayCakes85 · 13/10/2016 08:08

I chose the MLU last time, but then went 2 weeks overdue so ended up at the other hospital. I'm glad I did, as DD was "assisted" out! I'll aim to do the same again (except the overdue bit) and go with the best hospital for the situation Smile
Not sure when to tell people. DH might be abroad with work for the scan so I'm expecting to tell my mum before then so she'll come with me instead.

SleepForTheWeak · 13/10/2016 08:18

Does anyone else not feel pregnant at all?? No chance of an early scan where I live, unfortunately. I didn't have many symptoms with DD but it's really unsettling me this time.

My mum is coming to visit today for a few days, wasn't intending to tell her so early on but it's unlikely I'll be able to keep it to myself (especially when she cracks open the wine ....)

Goingmadttc · 13/10/2016 08:31

Sleep- I'm with you on the no symptoms front. I'm 6+2 today and don't understand how I still don't feel anything! The only weird thing is I keep waking up at 4am and not being able to go back to sleep.. not sure why as don't need the loo or anything.

Skee · 13/10/2016 08:40

Going I'm exactly the same! DH's alarm goes off at 5:30am, and I've slept through it until my own alarm goes off later, for the last 10yrs!

Not this week though, oh no - I'm already wide awake when it goes off, and I can't get back to sleep... I'm missing out on a valuable extra 2 hrs every night!

Skee · 13/10/2016 08:44

Thanks for the reassurance mojitos - this prompted me to do a bit of googling which was helpful too (I normally try to avoid this in case I read something which makes me worry more!)

Cramps have gone this morning. I've never been so aware of my uterus before! Grin

Myfirstbornisacollie · 13/10/2016 08:50

Definitely got the early morning insomnia here. Tossing and turning from 4am
Got my scan tonight keep alternating between the fear of silent mc or twins. Eeek

Goingmadttc · 13/10/2016 08:51

Skee, so glad it's not just me! Though sorry you are suffering too! I get so annoyed as i should be getting at least an extra 2 hours sleep but there I am wide awake, tossing and turning. I thought pregnancy was supposed to make you more tired, not wide awake halfway through the night!

Goingmadttc · 13/10/2016 08:52

Collie! Another member of the 4am club! Wonder why it is?! Good luck with the scan!

Purplefairy21 · 13/10/2016 09:24

Another member of the 4am club and every hour on the effing clock

SleepForTheWeak · 13/10/2016 10:03

I have a 2yo DD who still wakes during the night and who I still bf back to sleep so the sleep issue isn't a new one to me Grin

beanbag19 · 13/10/2016 10:03

I'm waking up at 3am too! Exhausted now!!

SleepForTheWeak · 13/10/2016 10:04

Skee · 13/10/2016 10:04

Good luck Collie!

Yeah what's that all about?! I was wondering when the early pregnancy exhaustion kicks in!

The only reason I'm tired through the day is because of 5hrs broken sleep every night!

And I can't even have a coffee to perk me up! BrewGrin

MumofthreeandBean · 13/10/2016 10:07

sixisthemagicnumber we do have a lot in common!!
I know people will querie the age gap and my age but both dh and myself have said we don't care what people think!!
I havnt told anyone except the kids yet, I know my sister and mum will be pleased, pretty sure one brother in law will be happy for us but the other may not as his mrs will then create as she's always wanted a 4th and he's not budging 😂
My dad will be shocked - but I'm sure he will be supportive.

im still nautious, unsure if it's pregnancy or my IBS 👎

MumofthreeandBean · 13/10/2016 10:08

Oops 7.1

Keep meaning to go on spreadsheet but can't seem to do it on my phone

peaceloveandbiscuits · 13/10/2016 10:28

Skee you can have coffee.

Skee · 13/10/2016 11:20

This is great news!! I read that caffeine is not recommended - but then, neither's falling asleep at the wheel! Grin

My day has improved by a good 30% Wink

themoonandsixpence · 13/10/2016 13:02

Hello newbies, congratulations and welcome to the club

Skee you mustn't exceed 200miligrams of caffeine a day, a homemade coffee is allowed, although I have been avoiding all caffeine based drinks.

I'm thinking of telling my sister tomorrow off the little bean, I just feel that I have already told my line manager, hospital and gp receptionist plus my gym teacher it feels silly not to let family know. I'll be 7 weeks tomorrow. Waiting until the next scan just feels so far away especially when I know others will soon start to guess beforehand.

Finally starting to feel slight nausea after I have eaten.
