Anyone else Due June 2017?

1000 replies

pinkiponk · 21/09/2016 20:40

BFP last Friday, will (hopefully) be my second child, as have a 2 year old DS already. Doctor said I was due 2 June Smile
Feeling very excited, but quite nervous as had a MMC before DS, so noticing when symptoms have gone/come back!
Also finding it hard not being able to talk to anyone in RL (obviously DH knows).
Anyone else got this news recently and care to join? Smile

Me too Purple, today's anxiety is because my boobs don't hurt as much as they did in week 4. They're far less painful, just a bit tender. And it seems like everyone else's boobs are continuously painful...?

I've never over analysed anything quite like this before... Confused

5+2

Goingmadttc · 12/10/2016 09:48

Skee if it helps, my boobs have never been painful! Still having no symptoms. I overanalyse everything! Had acupuncture last night and the acupuncturist said my pulse was still strong and pregnant so that made me calm down a bit!

Goingmadttc · 12/10/2016 09:48

(6+1)

Skee · 12/10/2016 10:01

Jeezo - there really isn't a 'one size fits all' approach to this at all!

Thanks for that going - I love that your pulse was described as 'strong and pregnant' too! Literally the most reassuring thing I think you could've heard - great news!

Goingmadttc · 12/10/2016 10:06

I know! I know it sounds like mumbo jumbo but I swear by this acupuncturist! we tried for 6 months, had 3 CPs and then I have 3 sessions with her and got pregnant!

VeganMama83 · 12/10/2016 10:18

Sorry lixon. Hugs to you xx

Hoping to not have to tell anyone until end of Jan so will be over 20w. Should be ok to hide as I've been fat before so people will just think I've slipped back to old habits. And not doing all the announcing/scan pics on fb anyhow.

5+1

Skee · 12/10/2016 10:29

That's amazing going! I have friends who use acupuncture for pain relief and they swear by it! If it works, it works!

I'm not really sure what to do with telling people yet. I'm so excited and can't wait to share the news, but I'm also really nervous that it's still early days, and anything could happen.

Unfortunately I lost my mum in May, and I wish I'd had the opportunity to tell her. I'd love to tell my MIL - who I'm quite close to, but I'm only 5+2, I wouldn't want her to worry.

Goingmadttc · 12/10/2016 10:34

So sorry to hear that about your mum Skee. We are telling parents and siblings after our early 7 week scan, assuming it is ok. I know they will be so excited that I don't want them to get excited before I feel more confident that it might be ok, particularly after my precious CPs. Work, friends etc we will tell after the 12 week scan. I commute a long way for work so I might need them to be a bit more flexible about me working from home if I start feeling really ill.

peaceloveandbiscuits · 12/10/2016 10:48

Forgot how much weeing on demand there is involved in antenatal care.

beanbag19 · 12/10/2016 10:50

So sorry Lixon

Skee · 12/10/2016 10:55

So I didn't realise you could pay for an early scan until I joined this thread! What a great idea - does it tend to be private companies that do it? Or is this something you can pay for through your GP/midwife?

peaceloveandbiscuits · 12/10/2016 11:53

Private companies, skee. Unless you have a private GP/MW? Wink

Sixisthemagicnumber · 12/10/2016 11:57

Private companies do the scans unless there is a medical concern and then the NHS will do one. You can just google some companies In Your area and phone up and book a convenient appointment.

Dragon5000 · 12/10/2016 11:58

Hugs lixon x x

Yes I'm getting fluttering beanbag could be wind!

Just an my mw who is lovely and laid back. I've got very high BP already so gotta keep an eye on it! Booking appt in 2 weeks

7 today

Dragon5000 · 12/10/2016 12:03

Oh and I snuck into McDonald's for a quick lunch before going back to work because I'm salt deficient so it's medical like!

VeganMama83 · 12/10/2016 12:08

Got a letter for my booking in. Had to reschedule cos it's when I'm working. But got it booked now for when I'm 8+2. Feeling a bit more real now!

Skee · 12/10/2016 12:19

Thank you ladies! Sadly no private healthcare for me Grin

I'll be 9+2 on my first appointment, which just seems so far away. And with so few symptoms now I'm a wee bit concerned, so I think an early scan in week 6 will put my mind at ease. Unless I'm hit with hideous morning sickness before then - at least that would be a sign of things progressing!

It's funny what you wish for in these early weeks! Blush

Goingmadttc · 12/10/2016 12:25

Skee I am having one on Nhs because of my previous history. But there's loads of private companies out there. They usually say try to wait til 7 weeks as then it is more likely they can see the little heart beating which gives you some reassurance! No way can I wait for 12 weeks, if I wasn't having one on NHS I would definitely pay for one !

peaceloveandbiscuits · 12/10/2016 12:28

Skee early scans can be reassuring but at 6 weeks it might be difficult to see anything, which can cause unnecessary concern.

Dontstepinthecowpat · 12/10/2016 13:14

Thinking about you lixon

Sixisthemagicnumber · 12/10/2016 13:35

Try and wait until at least 7 weeks For a scan skee. I waited until 8 weeks last time as it looks a bit less blob like at that stage and you should get a heartbeat for sure. I am waiting until 8 weeks again this time.

NappingRabbit · 12/10/2016 13:51

So sorry lixon, and about your mother Skee Flowers

We've told immediate family and I may tell a couple of friends before 12 weeks as one has already told me she's due within about a week of me, but I plan to keep quiet at work for as long as possible and will tell most friends after the 12 week scan.

Mummyh2016 · 12/10/2016 13:56

Sorry if TMI but is anyone really constipated? I feel like I've not been to the toilet properly since the weekend. Went to my slimming world weigh in last night and put 3lb on in a week which I'm fully blaming on my bowels!

VeganMama83 · 12/10/2016 14:06

MummyH have you told your consultant at SW you're expecting yet? I can't tell mine for ages but I'm at target so it works a bit differently when I do tell her I think xx

Purplefairy21 · 12/10/2016 14:06

Scan successful for been so early on. One fluttering heartbeat and a bean Smile
