Anyone else Due June 2017?

BFP last Friday, will (hopefully) be my second child, as have a 2 year old DS already. Doctor said I was due 2 June Smile
Feeling very excited, but quite nervous as had a MMC before DS, so noticing when symptoms have gone/come back!
Also finding it hard not being able to talk to anyone in RL (obviously DH knows).
Anyone else got this news recently and care to join? Smile

5+3 here. Saw my GP really early at 4+2 as I happened to get a next day appointment when the usual waiting time is 2 weeks. Referral was sent off and I just got my hospital appointment letters yesterday so about a week later. 8+5 for booking appointment and 12+2 for first scan which I think is pretty good?
Will need time off work for the booking appointment so will most likely tell my employer soon. So far only family and close friends know.

peaceloveandbiscuits · 04/10/2016 16:42

Don't use FB here...

Purplefairy21 · 04/10/2016 17:41

I don't actually know when the standard booking in time is as they've probably changed the policy since I was last pg. I shall find out tomorrow at gp appointment. The food tasting weird has started. Cheese unless cooked tastes yeuch and pineapple tastes strange and not edible. Hmm
I'm on a Fb group from when I had ds but honestly I probably wouldn't join if it was set up until I reached second trimester. I spend more time on mn than fb tbh lol so it makes no difference.

themoonandsixpence · 04/10/2016 19:03

I really want to have food cravings but alas I'm eating the same as before. Although I have gone off sweet food
(which is odd for me). I went to Gregg's this morning and wasn't tempted at all by the cakes on offer.

Also is anyone else Googling 'can you eat x when pregnant', lol even though I have re-read the NHS advise I can't help but check.

haveacupoftea · 04/10/2016 19:05

I am having my booking in and scan at the same appointment! Still no symptoms except the sore boobs and heartburn. Would be up for a FB group Smile

MumofthreeandBean · 04/10/2016 19:16

I have my midwife appointment at 8 weeks, so 2 weeks time.

Vegan - it was me and dairy free - I need to google info...

VeganMama83 · 04/10/2016 19:17

Well I'm happy to set a group up as we get further! I must admit I don't like the MN set up! So can't spend long on it before my eye turn square!

Booking in appt timing seems to just be v dependent on which area you are in. I had mine around ten weeks and scan at 13 and a bit in the end I think. I'm hoping that we can get it in for around 12 weeks this time as that will be right before my sons second birthday. It's the only time of the year that all sets of grandparents are together at same time so would be a nice time to tell everyone all being well.

themoonandsixpence · 04/10/2016 19:24

We have an amazing GP, I've never had issues getting an appointment with a nurse or doctor but I was surprised that the midwife only works 2 days a week so appointments get pre-booked. Is this normal?

MrsY87 · 04/10/2016 19:36

We just call the Midwife and book a booking in appointment ourselves, also have to send off for scan appointment myself which is a bit odd!! Moon I think we can only see the midwife certain days too which is a pain to fit in when you are trying to hide it from work! Seems to differ a lot depending on where you are!

NappingRabbit · 04/10/2016 20:09

I've sent off my self-referral form this afternoon. The response email said to expect a letter with details of booking appointment within 2 weeks. Last time my booking was around 10.5 weeks and scan two weeks later.

northernquavers · 04/10/2016 20:21

I got my pack from the midwives today, booking appointment will be 4th Nov so 9 weeks. Feels like a v long way off.

MoonlightMojitos · 04/10/2016 20:40

Wow this is getting very busy, hard to keep up! I went and saw midwives today to get a pack. Had wee sample pot and loads of info leaflets and a questionnaire with millions of questions about me and dp and our families medical history. Booking appointment is 31st when have to take everything with me. Seems ages away yet (I'll be about 8 1/2 weeks then) but glad to have the noticed as booked the afternoon off work (it's at 1.30 and takes around 2 hours!)

I feel exhausted today but I've been off work sick friday and yesterday so have literally been in bed for 4 days and going back to work has taken it out of me.

peaceloveandbiscuits · 04/10/2016 20:42

Yep our midwives are only in the surgery for two days, mornings only. They have to fit in community visits and hospital work as well.
I remember hoping my next appointment would be on a Tuesday because I didn't like the one who worked Wednesdays, even though going on a Tuesday meant arranging cover at work.

JunebabyT · 04/10/2016 21:31

Booking in appointment arranged for 10 weeks, got it on 3 nov.

I'm up for a private Facebook group if someone sets one up. Is there anyone else here in the Bristol area?

Goingmadttc · 04/10/2016 21:52

Hi JuneBaby that is two days before mine. Do you get to see a GP or midwife before then? The NHS website seems to suggest that we do get an earlier appointment before booking in, where they talk you through diet etc but really seems to vary on area that you live as to whether this is offered! I can't wait til 5 Nov, seems ages away! Tempted to pay for a private early scan at 8 weeks as I think I will go mad otherwise.

peaceloveandbiscuits · 04/10/2016 22:00

Booking in is usually your first antenatal appointment.

JunebabyT · 04/10/2016 22:08

Goingmad, I don't have anything before that as my GP website just said contact the midwife for booking in. Based on what the midwife said when I rang, I think I'll just have to wait! Hopefully it will fly by especially as we aren't planning to tell anyone until after the 12 week scan.

MoonlightMojitos · 04/10/2016 22:10

junebaby I'm bristol! (Well, south glos). Thinking of southmead mendip midwife led unit :)

goingmad here you get a group session first which is about an hour long and talks you through nutrition, general health etc and the local options for where to give birth (we have to decide before our booking!). They also give you all the forms which you have to complete and take to your booking.

GiraffesCantDoMentalArithmetic · 04/10/2016 22:27

Thank you for all the reassurance. I've run out of tests, so I can't wind myself up anymore for a few days at least! For now, I'm pregnant, and that's that.

themoonandsixpence · 04/10/2016 22:56

Has anyone expressed any interest in their local NCT group. I've just checked their website and the one for ladies due in June is just down the road Grin and I don't want to look to eager but at the same time I'm not sure if spaces are limited....if you can't already tell it is my first bean

Also what does 4+2 ect mean....I need to find the mum's net acronym list

peaceloveandbiscuits · 04/10/2016 23:21

Wait until after your 12 week scan to book NCT classes. Definitely worth doing for the networking, and the NCT is a fab charity (I volunteer with my local branch). They will find a space for you.

4+2 means 4 weeks and 2 days pregnant.

VeganMama83 · 04/10/2016 23:28

Junebaby I'm happy to set it up but think many may wait longer to join/don't use fb

MrsY87 · 05/10/2016 06:10

5 + 1 today and got 2-3 weeks on a digi this morning so happy to see it's progressed from 1-2 weeks when I last tested on Thursday. Going to try and resist the urge to test again now! Need to call the epu as I was still being monitored for post mc bloods to return to zero so am wondering if they will do bloods as they will want to confirm it is a new pregnancy I suppose, if not I'm going to try and hold out til an early scan in a few weeks!

Anyone else suffer from an unquenchable thirst and dry mouth? Nothing I drink seems to satisfy me!
