Thanks all for being so lovely yesterday when I was completely thrown by my poor friend's news.

I am going to contact some mutual friends I think, to find out how people are contacting her and her husband to send their condolences and best wishes. I don't want to ignore her, but we haven't seen each other for at least seven or eight months - basically the whole duration of her pregnancy - so I want to handle it sensitively. But I am glad you all took it as it was meant - I didn't post to scare anyone or upset anyone, I was just so thrown and shocked. Thanks for understanding all of you Flowers

I've joined a local baby selling facebook group! Grin Just made contact with a woman selling a little bundle of boys stuff - looks like 5 or so different trousers/tops/grows and a snowsuit. So I am pleased! And yesterday we got a few little babygrows (I think... they have feet in so aren't romper suits?) from the Next sale Smile

kikisdelivery · 25/09/2016 11:11

Oh! And coconut oil/moisturiser seems to have calmed those itchy annoying patches down today. They're still there, but way less tight and hot. I'm going to keep slathering it on my back/cleavage/jawline liberally, and keep an eye on it over the next day or so - thanks for the tip, I think it was Vixx Grin

SpinALittleFaster · 25/09/2016 11:14

Our cats haven't responded well to having a tiny person in the house but they're too old and broken to be rehomed. My boy is very typical of the breed and needs constant attention from me so he started acting out when DD came home. I knew would be difficult with their personalities though and other people with ragdolls get on fine.

I use a dream genii which is better than nothing but my hips still get sore by morning. I was referred to physio last time and should probably start doing the exercises again.

LunaPatuna · 25/09/2016 11:16

The small cylindrical one basically performs the same function as the bumper bit on the Dream Genii for me but it's less fixed Evergreen. Trying to prevent lying on my back so it supports right hand side. It's just a case of seeing what works for you! I read it in an article somewhere and it's definitely helping support wise.
It's a pillow fest in our bed at the minute I've got one inbetween me and DP because I can't stand him breathing on me!! Blush

LunaPatuna · 25/09/2016 11:19

I'm just about to pay for my reservation on NCT Antenatal classes but don't think I'll bother with the membership. Hope I won't be missing out on anything worthwhile?

kikisdelivery · 25/09/2016 11:20

And oh god, in cat world we have one boy (the oldest) who's a proper cat tart and who has at least one other home in the neighbourhood (an old lady about 5 doors away who he spends all day with when we're at work) - he's 12 now and has always been really independent, so I can't imagine a baby will throw him much.

Our other two are both girls and both are 9. They're a bit more neurotic in different ways - one is completely thick, to put it mildly, and has managed to get herself lost in the next door neighbour's garden (we heard her howling because she couldn't work out how to get back to us.... despite getting in there in the first place) and the other tries to be aloof and independent but manages to get frights of the most innocuous things. I suspect they'll be 100% freaked out when there's a tiny wailing baby in their midst!

kikisdelivery · 25/09/2016 11:21

Luna I paid for membership, but only because I was tired when I signed up and I got sucked in by their marketing blurb! Hmm. I've literally had nothing from them worthwhile so far... I suspect I may as well have just paid for the antenatal course, like you. I'll see how it goes - I was expecting to be bombarded with local event info and nearly-new sales!

Evergreen17 · 25/09/2016 11:33

London maybe I Should start my pilates dvd today Hmm
20 weeks tomorrow, it is starting to feel more real now GrinGrinGrin
Ahhhh

LunaPatuna · 25/09/2016 11:40

Thanks kikisdelivery I haven't heard much benefits wise and I should really avoid signing up for anything unnecessary at this stage! We have a few nearly new sales events in Glasgow outside of NCT so not too bothered!

My cats are quite similar to yours! We rehomed a brother & sister as 1 yr olds nearly 2 years ago and the teeny tabby female one (Luna) got lost a couple of doors down, howling and unresponsive to the shaking of a Dreamies bag! We also have Frank, a huge big fluffy black boy who I think may be a bear or panther in disguise. He'll go to anyone if they look like they might know where food is...
Both of them already seem startled when my neighbour's little one cries, might have to start playing them baby sounds to get used to it...

divadee · 25/09/2016 12:01

All these cat people on here!! I miss my old cat baby who unfortunately had to be put to sleep last year. :-( I want another one but with moving and bubs on the way thought it might be too much. I miss the fur babies around the place though. And a warm lap in the evening!!

Shellbell0403 · 25/09/2016 12:23

diva u could get a wee kitty as a baby present from ur oh heehee!

london I'm going to start pregnancy yoga, I guess u recommend it? I have had ok sleeping last few days (touch wood)

ever what's ur movement feeling like since we are twins? Haha...

I'm having a relaxing day in the house with DH and his girls baking cakes! Just what the doc ordered... maybe not the scales though! Haha

LondonGirl83 · 25/09/2016 12:54

Yes, I also am doing pregnancy yoga. I recommend both shell. I did both before pregnancy though to deal with old running and back injuries so for me it might provide more benefit than the average pregnant lady!

Blueskies80 · 25/09/2016 13:24

Hi all,

Pilates is genuinely brilliant for reducing aches and pains. I did it a while back and felt like a new woman, having had a bad back since no2 who was over 9lb which is why I had to sign up and get going before I get too big. Don't know much about yoga however, although they are quite similar I think, any thoughts?!

London, I have joined winter bumps on the forum! Well the facebook group. See you at some of the events maybe! Not doing nct this time but did it in ED with no 1 and have some amazing friends five years on, we were lucky and had a great group!

Happy Sunday's everyone xx

Ragdollmum1985 · 25/09/2016 18:51

I have been doing yoga and really enjoy it. Think I might look into Pilates too.

Had a lovely day today. Went to mothercare and looked at prams. We like the icandy peach bugaboo camelon and the egg! Also I bought the dream genie pillow and a few more bras. Came back home and cooked a roast for my best friends (one of which has just had a little boy!) I plan to chill out now on the sofa for the evening Grin

Shellbell0403 · 25/09/2016 19:03

ragdoll i seen a link on fb maybe yesterday for somewhere selling the camelion bugaboo reduced but can't mind where.. just incase it come up on yours. Was on one of the baby pages!!

wispaxmas · 25/09/2016 19:36

Mother are has the bug cam reduced, and so does Natural Baby Shower, to match the discount at the baby and toddler show this weekend (the latter shop anyway). Show ended today, though, but the mother are sale is still on.

I went to the baby and toddler show today and got everything on my list! Bugaboo accessories (newborn bee cocoon, new cup holder, and buggy board with adaptors for the bee and the buffalo) and a Morrck hoodie! I couldn't resist a couple pairs of blade and rose leggings, too Blush

LondonGirl83 · 25/09/2016 19:46

wispa do they offer discounts at the baby show on the bee?

Ragdollmum1985 · 25/09/2016 20:23

Is it likely that they will reduce the bugaboos again? Don't want to miss out on a bargain but wanted to have another look at them!

What car seat are people going for? Has anyone looked at the cybex that goes completely flat??

Wonderlust123 · 25/09/2016 20:42

I was thinking of getting the Bugaboo Bee, and was recommended (by the sales assistant) to get a maxi cosi car seat to go with it. He also said that not all seats will be compatible.
Saying that, I'm just repeating what one person has said, I don't really know myself!

Evergreen17 · 25/09/2016 20:57

Shell twinie, my movements are sporadic and quite subtle. Yours? Scan on Friday! So so so so excited
I am still set on carrying the bubba so no pram here but jealous of these purchases.
I want Friday to come already, I want my scan!!!

wispaxmas · 25/09/2016 21:11

London, all the bugaboos had at least a 10% discount at the show, but seeing as bugaboo pushchairs are rarely on offer it's a good enough savings to be worthwhile. The only other time I've seen them cheaper is when stores are selling their floor models!

LondonGirl83 · 25/09/2016 21:14

Wonder I'm getting the Bugaboo Bee as well. I'm getting the Britax Romer BABY-SAFE PLUS SHR II. Its a Which? Best Buy with a 5 star crash safety rating for both side and front impact. It can be used both with or without a Isofix base (same crash test results) so we went with that as we will mostly be using in cabs and therefore won't necessarily be able to rely on a base (we don't own a car as we live in London).

Its an alternative to the Maxi Cosi which I think is nearly as good safety-wise if you intend to use it with an base but not if you don't according to Which? crash tests (which are more stringent that regulations). However, Maxi Cosi has a much longer history and the Britax can be too upright in some cars which are both considerations before deciding if its right for you.

There is a third brand that's also compatible with the Bugaboo Bee but I haven't looked into in detail.

LondonGirl83 · 25/09/2016 21:20

Thanks wispa I'll go prepared to buy then! I'm assuming that includes all the accessories as well?

wispaxmas · 25/09/2016 21:20

wonder, there are other car seat adaptors for the bugaboo bee, I think. Maybe for britax?

Bisquick · 25/09/2016 23:34

Ah found this thread!
Just got back from a sunny weekend away, and I've eaten my body weight in pasta I think. Scan's not until a Friday and trying so hard to distract myself but feeling so nervous!
