11 weeks tiday and had a really vivid dream that I was bleeding again. end time this pregnancy. All is still fine.

MrsRhubarb · 24/09/2016 08:01

So many lovely scan pictures! Less than a week until mine, I'm so excited. Come on Thursday!

Mumi you have my entire sympathy, I was doing the same shifts last pregnancy and it is just awful.

Knitting I told my nearly three year old. She is over the moon, has asked lots of questions. I got her an Usborne Where Do Babies Come From book which she really likes, and she likes looking at the pictures in my pregnancy book. She will now say "Mummy, are you having a baby?" and I will say "Yes, but not today" and she nods very seriously and replies "Because it has lots more growing to do". Love her!

I'm about to go to m first ever flu clinic. Midwife put me down when I had my booking in. Never been to one before, but it looks like thousands of people are attending. Eep! Hope they're organised with getting us stabbed and out again.

Helbelle75 · 24/09/2016 08:01

^2nd not end.

Celen · 24/09/2016 10:42

Funny how things vary, depending on where you are MrsRhubarb - when I mentioned flu jab to my MW this week, she says it's best to wait til further into Autumn, late Oct/Nov time Confused

Celen · 24/09/2016 10:43

Can you post a pic or URL link to that book please MrsRhubarb? Might be good for my ds too.

marmitecheesetoast · 24/09/2016 11:15

Just found new thread! Thought you'd all gone quiet for a few days!

A quick selfish post from me I'm afraid as haven't had a chance to catch up, but I'm wondering whether I might have a uti? I've had weird twingey pains really low down in my froo the last day and a half and when I need to pee. Sometimes it feels like I'm so desperate to pee it's going to be a massive wee but then it's not that much. I'm just not sure whether this could be normal preggo symptoms as when I've had Utis in pre-preggo days I've reeeeaaallly known about it with that agonising burning stinging pain when you pee which I've not had with this. So wondered if anyone else has had similar symptoms or not? Thanks guys

everdene · 24/09/2016 12:07

Lovely scan Littlespoon!

Is everyone having the flu jab? I wasn't going to as I thought it made me ill last year but I saw a friend last night and she said it's a good idea to have it because flu would be horrendous when pg.

MumiTravels · 24/09/2016 12:46

Hope eveyones symptoms are settling down now. I slept from 7pm last night to 9.40am this morning. Must have needed it.
I'm off until Monday then back in on a day shift. Then a couple of weeks of nights again after that.

I'm really short of breath today. Short walk into town and I couldn't breathe. DS is too little to understand so I think it will be case of explaining when it arrives. He's got a baby doll that he loves.

As for the flu jab I'll get mine when they come round the wards with them jabbing all the staff. They start anytime about now usually.

SharkBastard · 24/09/2016 12:51

The midwife yesterday said that it is advised we get a flu jab and book with the GP. They will be starting soon, not sure I'll bother but will do it if I hear of a strain going about.

My nausea has actually been near non existent today considering I had such a terrible nights sleep...and of course instead of feeling happy, I'm worried! The joys of pregnancy!

Celen · 24/09/2016 13:02

onecrazycook, how are things today?

marmitecheesetoast · 24/09/2016 14:50

I've just been to out of hours nhs walk-in centre. The GP was very strange.. He dipsticked urine and said no sign of infection but given I had some symptoms of uti he would prescribe antibiotics anyway because if there is an infection which is causing irritation it could cause the uterus to contract and 'expel the product' Hmm this was after he's done an examination of me including listening to abdomen with a stethoscope for a while and asking me how many weeks pregnant did you say you were and have you had a scan yet? I told him 12 week scan was next week but that id had 8 week scan at which point he raises his eyebrow and asked if the 8 week has been fine and if they'd found a heartbeat. Wtf. So now of course I've convinced myself I've had a MC... Urgh ffs

onecrazycook · 24/09/2016 15:13

Hi Celen. So far, no further sign of bleeding. I was a bit sore when I went to bed last night but woke up, did the world's most enormous fart and I feel fine again. Not going to worry too much about the spotting unless I see more, and then I'll ring my midwife immediately

Flipping double posting bastard thing

RaRa25 · 24/09/2016 15:22

Bloody hell marmite that GP sounds awful! How odd. I'm sure everything will be ok but you must be worrying now :-(

Celen · 24/09/2016 15:57

That GP sounds awful marmite Angry Can you call your local EPU for advice?

KittyRainbow · 24/09/2016 16:03

Hiya, decided I may as well join in. I'm due 19th April, this is a surprise baby. Due to be sterilised, got a bfp instead... oops.
Have two DC already, DD is 8 and DS has just turned 1. Have scan on 17th October.

finova · 24/09/2016 17:08

Scan here went really well! So lovely to see baby.
Dates the same.
She looked at nub and thinks girl......but quite early at 11+4 so that might change.

I've been told can have flu jab at any stage...I'm waiting till well out of 1st trimester so I'll have around 14 weeks I think.

Hello Kitty!

marmitecheesetoast · 24/09/2016 18:11

Thanks Rara and Celen. Now I've calmed down a bit and thought about it rationally it's probably highly unlikely he'd have been able to hear heartbeat with a stethoscope at 11 weeks and obviously was just an idiot who didn't know what he was talking about!
Feel a bit weird that he's prescribed me course of antibiotics too despite dipstick being clear but I guess if uti can cause miscarriage risk it's better to be safe than sorry just have to brave the inevitable thrush and runs 12 wk Scan on Thursday so just got to hope all is ok then.

My MW told me I couldn't book flu jab til after 14 weeks.

Glad to hear people's scans have been going well

LotsaTuddles · 24/09/2016 18:45

Scan this afternoon. Everything is fine and EDD is 5/4/17 now

Celen · 24/09/2016 19:25

Great news finova and Lotsa Smile

Welcome Kitty Brew

Bubbinsmakesthree · 24/09/2016 19:29

That GP sounds horrendous marmite - most of the GPs I encounter are really good but every once in a while there is a complete idiot who hasn't got a clue. Best to ignore, hope he has not caused you too much worry.

Arrived in Spain. DS has been sick, praying it was a one off and not the start of something. Utterly exhausted following 3:30am start, but hoping to squeeze in a bit of work before bed! Wish I could switch off and relax for the week! Managed not to vomit on the plane or in the car, so that it something!

choccybiscuit · 24/09/2016 19:47

Sorry! And lotsa

MrsRhubarb · 24/09/2016 19:47

Oh Marmite that's awful! Weirdly last pregnancy I had a nurse practitioner tell me I had a UTI because I was being sick, dipstick came back clear, but no I definitely still had a UTI and here are some antibiotics. Rang midwife the next day who was far more helpful and said no, sickness was obviously baby related, she'd get me something to help. No idea what that nurse was playing at.

Celen This is the Usborne book on Amazon though I picked it up much cheaper in Sainsbury's! It's a lift the flap type, and has different animals and their development as well as about human babies.

I think it was just chance I had my flu jab now, when I had my booking in on Tuesday they'd just started booking people in for their first flu clinic of the season. I missed out last time (October baby) as when I first saw midwife in Feb/March it was too late and they'd run out, and by the end of my pregnancy they hadn't got going with that winters batch.

Lovely to see more scans!
