I'm going to try Dorothy Perkins ones next, they've got 25% off maternity wear this week Smile

Celen · 13/10/2016 12:53

From memory, marmite, I cut almost an inch into the waistband down each side. I think I cut into the elastic but not all the way through so it has a bit of extra "give" round the bump. Having said all the above, might be easier buying maternity tights Grin

Theknittinggorilla · 13/10/2016 12:55

Sorry to hear your news one Flowers

And glad the bleeding has stopped jpeg

And hope all those suffering are on the mend soon, hard enough being pregnant without being ill as well!

I've had some good under bump maternity jeans from top shop actually. Also m&s jeggings in a size up are doing quite well at the moment, as my maternity jeans are still a bit big and falling down. Will be looking out for any maternity tight recommendations though, never got any good ones last time.

I finally had my scan this morning, baby was uncooperative and took two scans and 45 minutes but all seems to be well, and measuring exactly 12+5 so no change to my due date! Consultant very happy with an elective section too so don't need to see him again now until 34 weeks. I had so many appointments and scans with ds2, looking forward to ( hopefully) a more straightforward run this time!

Picture not great but here it is

Thanks for the tights and DP discount tips Celen! Star

sarahhh1984 · 13/10/2016 13:05

Glad your bleeding has stopped, jpeg.

Lovely scan picture, Gorilla!

CajunKitty · 13/10/2016 13:41

Hi all, I've been following the thread for weeks but too scared to join until today when I had my scan!
This is DC#1 at 39 so I was petrified something would be wrong, but apart from a slightly uncooperative baby the scan went well, just hope bloods are too. Current DD 26 April.

Been lucky so far with no sickness only feeling nauseous, which is good as I commute to London from Sussex and I sing in two bands!!

I told my boss as soon as I found out I was pregnant as she's an old friend but planning on keeping the pregnancy to ourselves for a little longer, got another MIL who's a bit of a pain. But going on holiday this Saturday to the States where there will be lots of friends at a festival so we'll see if I get called out for not drinking!!

Finally had my scan as well today. It was lovely, one very wriggly baby all present and correct. Feeling very relieved and excited now! Due date has moved back to 29th April, only two days later than previously thought

choccybiscuit · 13/10/2016 14:27

Lovely scans ladies!

I forgot about Dorothy perkins celen I think I bought maternity jeans from there before with dd1 actually.

Bubbinsmakesthree · 13/10/2016 14:33

More lovely scans - congratulations all!

I got my Harmony test results back and all clear, yay!

SharkBastard · 13/10/2016 15:56

Welcome Cajun great scan! Hope you enjoy your festival...I love festivals but couldn't go sober ;)

Love scans all round!

Off work today as I had an awful night of insomnia and nausea. I was unwell with DD for 16 weeks, but this time round my evening sickness is AWFUL!

Feeling for my pregnant ladies who still puking!

Niks2026 · 13/10/2016 17:08

Who was it that said about the double bump...I look like a weirdly shaped chubby person! Jeans tend to give me a slightly better shape but leggings or tights make me look like I have 2 Bellys!
My belly button has changed...normally quite a deep belly button now very shallow and I can feel my stomach muscles have moved up. Being feeling weird crampy pains in the bottom of my back today, very weird.

Finally had a call from ante natal about booking my scan. It's Monday!!! Yay! Should be 12w exactly.
More and more people at work are noticing so after Monday I don't mind sharing the news.

jpeg28 · 13/10/2016 18:04

Hope you feel better soon MrsRhubarb flu and pregnancy doesn't sound a fun mix! And thank you for thinking of me. Haven't had any more bleeding. Having a few sort of twinges, odd little cramps but nothing painful or uncomfortable so I'm hoping it's just my uterus growing.

Celen I have over the bump ones from H&M which I love! Good tip on Dorothy Perkins! I am desperate for clothes now, I'm just getting fatter and fatter!! I've only put on 3lb but I look about a stone heavier!

Lovely scans knitting cajun and lion! And congrats on harmony results bubbin!

BinglyBinglyBeep · 13/10/2016 18:24

Welcome Cajun. I had two sober festivals this year. Quite good fun, but I definitely hit the cake harder to compensate for the no booze!

CastleFeck · 13/10/2016 19:29

Shark I'm still pukey. Can't wait for it to finally end. Sorry you're still poorly too.

My only mat tights are m and s and have survived a previous pregnancy. I can't see them stretching to 40 weeks though.

Bubbinsmakesthree · 13/10/2016 19:36

shark and castle I feel your pain - cannot wait to see the back of the sickness! Hoping to have a restful weekend pack DH off with the toddler as I am sure work and stress have a part to play, I felt SO much better on holiday!

Niks2026 · 13/10/2016 20:21

Anyone got any tips for headaches?? Mine are so painful they are making the sickness worse :(

JennyOfOldstones · 13/10/2016 20:22

Very uncooperative baby yesterday so no pic but all ok and measuring a week ahead so new due date 14th April.

MumiTravels · 13/10/2016 21:24

Hello Ladies,

I've been in work for two long days so just catching up. I'm living in dresses and tights at the moment. Will be hoping just to get some more thick tights and some dresses to see me through winter. I wore loose long shirts and leggings alot last time too. I hated maternity jeans. The band felt in the wrong place as my bump never dropped as he was breech and very high up.

Most of work colleagues know now as we have some aggressive patients on the ward so I can't nurse them. Mainly told them for safety. Some people had started noticing now though. My little pot belly is there all day now.

Got a birthday party to go to on Saturday. The grown up kind. Not a clue what I'm going to wear though. Will have to raid the raid the wardrobe and see what fits. It's 3 hours away and we're staying overnight. All I can think about is the lie in!! Grin

choccybiscuit · 13/10/2016 22:20

niksI feel for you. Headaches are awful. I've had a few this pregnancy as I'm prone to migraines anyway. If it's really bad, I take one paracetamol and lie down in a dark room with a cold flannel on my forehead. Sometimes, because I've pretty much cut out all caffeine, I have a normal tea and sometimes this helps.

Avengerhart85 · 13/10/2016 22:33

We had our scan and new due date is 14th April Smile is anyone else finding out the sex earlier than the 20 week scan? We got an offer on groupon and we find out 2 weeks today I'm so nervous and don't know if I want to know now or not Shock

cantmakeme · 14/10/2016 01:14

Lots of lovely scan pics. Will add mine in a second if it's easy.

I hate tights! I am thin (well, not when pregnant, lol) but they always dig in my waist and make me feel ill. So I buy 70 and 80 denier hold-ups on Amazon, much more comfy!

cantmakeme · 14/10/2016 01:16

Ok, here's my scan if this works. It was yesterday, I'm 14 weeks today, due date changed to 13 April.

cantmakeme · 14/10/2016 01:19

avenger I know what you mean. I don't think I will find out at a scan. I didn't until my dd was born and I love having a surprise. Do you have a slight preference for one or the other?

finova · 14/10/2016 04:16

I think a surprise is lovely and can definitely see the attraction.
However, I love finding out and it's a very special day when you do. To be honest after both my (fast) births I felt a bit in shock and finding out the sex wouldn't have been a wow moment for me anyway.
What they look like, size, what name they suit is still a surprise.
Finally, buying a few gender specific things during pregnancy is lovely. I'm not that keen on a lot of the neutral stuff, but you may be!

CajunKitty · 14/10/2016 05:08

Niks I'm a migraine sufferer and have had a few pregnancy headaches. Sucks only being able to take paracetamol but I swear by the cool strips that you stick to your forehead and I just discovered the 4Head stick which has the same cooling effect.
