Lovely scan news!

I'm feeling miserable as I am loaded with the cold, my throat is sore and I've hardly any voice. I need to go to work tomorrow though as I'm not long back from long term sickness absence. Plus it's DDs birthday party tomorrow night, I must be off my head, 5 11 year olds for a sleepover and no wine for me!!

Finally catching up!

greensofa congrats on the scan yesterday! That is annoying they need to do it again, least you get another peak at your baby!

jobrum I can't believe your mum was like that!! She should love whatever you name your children!! Hope you're ok.

onecrazy what a tough time it must be for you with all the not knowing. So glad there is a teeny baby in there, don't leave us even if you're due in May!! It's a great sign your cervix is closed so I'll be keeping everything crossed for you.

Chat that's such a lovely scan photo!

Hope you had a nice holiday mrsbac and congrats on the scan!

hellebelle I've been wishing it was half term too!! The kids were really irritating me today!!

MrsR I am so happy for you!! After such an emotional time of not knowing what was happening must be great to see the little baby!!

Good luck to everyone with scans tomorrow... sorry if I've missed anyone!!

BinglyBinglyBeep · 06/10/2016 19:16

Scan day today. All signs point to normal, which is a huge relief. After having the scan too early last week I can't believe I have to wait until 20 weeks now to see baby again! I'm back slightly to 12+3, due 17 April.

One delighted for you!

Jobrum I know what you mean about bursting the pregnancy bubble. Would be so nice to keep it to ourselves, avoiding all opinions. Most are well-meaning at least, but I am not looking forward to fending strangers off the bump! I hope your mum stops with the comments.

Shark our shutters are arriving in a couple of weeks. Just one room to make sure we like them. Feels like we're finally doing something to get the house in order!

Beautiful scans all!

Jpeg you forgot to congratulate me on on my chip bap with curry sauce Grin

MyGreenSofa · 06/10/2016 19:50

Oh my ladies, stop talking about chip buttys, I really want one now! Not curry sauce though, just a well buttered bap Grin

MumiTravels · 06/10/2016 20:02

I got curry in the hope that I wouldn't have to share it Grindidn't bloody work

DS remembered that we had been to the chip shop on the way home from playgroup and as we got in the front door he said "chips".
I was hoping he'd have forgotten

I had to do the motherly thing and share Envy

SharkBastard · 06/10/2016 20:27

Shutters are in and they look AMAZING! Home is all cosy and homely instead of squat like!

Great scans ladies Smile

I love chip shop curry sauce, we have a fish and chips van that visits the villages on each day, it was our villages day today but I'm too bloody ill to have anything Angry

MumiTravels · 06/10/2016 20:33

Show me show me.

I love shutters Smile

jpeg28 · 06/10/2016 20:36

I apologise Mumi! I hope the chip butty was good! I would love one right now!
My parents came over tonight to see scan pics and made me so excited! Then I realised it was past my bedtime so now I'm exhausted in bed!

Send us a pic of the shutters!!

onecrazycook · 06/10/2016 21:21

Beep, that's an awesomely clear scan!

onecrazycook · 06/10/2016 21:22

Thanks all for the lovely comments and wishes. Wednesday seems so far away! All we need is a heartbeat!!

SharkBastard · 06/10/2016 21:27

shark what a gorgeous lounge!! Love the shutters!

ChatEnOeuf · 07/10/2016 07:13

Thanks ladies - it is a big relief to have a clear plan.

Lovely shutters, Shark. I'd love them but it would look really out of place in our house. One day, when I get to design everything from scratch...

I'd love a chip butty. Perhaps not right now, but I reckon I'm going to persuade the canteen to sort that out for me at lunchtime today. Mumi I can't believe your friend was so flaky as to miss out on tea and a tuna melt! Rubbish.

Who was asking about frolic? Mine's in combination with vit D - I'll finish the pot (maybe another week or two) and then move on to plain vit D - so I'll be stopping around 14-15w.

Lovely to see more good scan news. Chuckling at the uncooperative babies, they have no idea, do they? DD was a pain at our 20w scan, spent the whole scan with her bottom in the air and her face buried in the placenta.

Bubbinsmakesthree · 07/10/2016 08:01

I can't tell you obsessed I am with the idea of a chip butty now! I was awake at 2am and very nearly ventured out to see if the all night kebab shop could fix me up!

I'm working at home today so planning a visit to the chippy at lunchtime!

choccybiscuit · 07/10/2016 08:19

It was me chat, I'm also taking folic acid with vitamin d, I'm nearly finished my pot and just wondered should I buy some more. I'll definitely buy vitamin d or maybe a pregnancy vitamin with everything in it, i can't decide. It's my scan later this afternoon, I hope it's not camera shy Smile

MrsBac83 · 07/10/2016 11:16

I've been taking Pregnicare since TTC and just bought another load. They say you can take them all through pregnancy. (I think!)

Nice nail there celtic! Not sure if that's your full name on show in the picture? You might want to have it removed if so. Congrats on wriggly baby!

marmitecheesetoast · 07/10/2016 12:28

Skirt and dresses sound lovely Sarah! I've also bought a few normal loose fit tops in size up recently! I've heard good things about ASOS maternity dresses so might have a nosey online at the weekend! Frustrating re trousers. I mentioned this upthread to Jpeg I think, but you could try one of these to allow you to keep wearing your existing jeans that are the right length? www.jojomamanbebe.co.uk/multi-use-belly-band-a9117.html

choccy i've been wondering about folic acid too. I was taking folic acid and vit d separately but have started taking centrum recently after they were on offer. I guess I just keep taking them, it's not like it's harmful to keep taking folic acid in it combined tablet is it?

Hope you feel better soon strubo

Congratulations on all the lovely new scans!

What nicknames is anyone using for their baby? I keep saying 'it' in an attempt to avoid he/she and need to think of a nn we can use for next 6 months!

Celticlassie · 07/10/2016 12:34

Thanks sofa - I noticed and reported straight away but not gone yet! Oops. Can I blame baby brain??

CastleFeck · 07/10/2016 13:04

Lovely scans everyone, still waiting for mine.

Are we supposed to be taking vit D? I'm only taking folic acid.

BinglyBinglyBeep · 07/10/2016 13:52

Choccy I asked my midwife about folic acid as I wasn't sure if I should keep taking the combined. She said the advice is you can stop taking it after the first scan but a lot of women take it the whole way through. So up to you!

Feck loving the username. Yes on the vit d, the whole way through I think. But I'm sure it's fine if you haven't yet, it's only supplements to other sources you get anyway. Some councils have a scheme where you can fill out a form and get it for free from the chemist. I haven't done it yet but maybe ask midwife?

Celticlassie · 07/10/2016 14:19

Trying again. Had scan today - lovely wriggly baby. Due date back to 22nd April. Here's to a less worrisome second trimester.
WRT what to call 'it'- I'm trying to jump between he and she - keep things interesting!

I'm taking whatever I can stomach. I've got a good diet though chip butty aside so I'm not overly concerned. Just put an offer in on a house as last one got snapped up by an investor. It's a doer upper still but mainly because it's like going back 40 years. It would be completely livable with a newborn though once I got the old people smell out.
