jobrum sorry your mother was a cow. You sound sane and rational. Has your mum stolen your pregnancy hormones Wink. Stick to your guns and share your pleasure with those that deserve to share it with you x

onecrazycook · 05/10/2016 22:27

Don't worry Celen! Everything is looking great for you. And your DS is 4! He won't mind what you do as long as it's fun. It doesn't need to cost money!

Where in the world do you live? Maybe we can give you ideas for things to do?

onecrazycook · 05/10/2016 22:33

Update:

Went to the gynae unit tonight with all this pain. Was given an internal exam and doctor says that despite my bleeding (which she. Called minimal) there is no sign of miscarriage as my cervix is shut tight. They tested my urine and I still have a very strong BFP. So if scan on Wed shows a heartbeat, in back in business- albeit belonging to a May or June due date club.

I dare not get my hopes up

I've been given co-dydramol for the pain

MyGreenSofa · 05/10/2016 22:41

Such a confusing time for you onecrazycook but I will keep my fingers crossed for you!

Monkey - what you've described sounds exactly what my early movements were like with DD. I described it as like a muscle twitch or like a bubble popping.

Celen · 06/10/2016 06:24

Thanks everyone for your kind words, (particularly you one with your own emotional time at the moment!). Was having a bit of a wobble yesterday over everything and after a cry and chat with DH, I felt a bit better.

I'm keeping everything crossed for you one, I'm sure we'll all try to keep time passing for you as Wednesday must feel like an age away x

SharkBastard · 06/10/2016 06:42

jobrum your mum sounds draining! Don't let her dull anything with this pregnancy, easier said than done, but I wouldn't even discuss anything with her about it.

Celen hope you're feeling more positive today.

One wow! Fingers crossed for the next scan, and I hope the pain meds help.

Managed to eat a fair size portion of pasta bake last night! But then I felt like shit :( we've had cake at work the last few days and I've not tried a bit, this pregnancy has given me more food aversions than cravings. I'm finding it increasingly difficult to find things to eat Confused

Getting our plantation shutters fitted today...I'm far too excited about this

ChatEnOeuf · 06/10/2016 08:08

Gosh, Jobrum, your mum sounds hard work. Mine is cross I didn't tell her sooner but then told me off for going to work just in case. She thinks I should stay in bed for the next 6m. I told her I didn't want a DVT...

Celen, I'm sure he'd be happy with some cake to share with nursery friends (they might even do a pass-the-parcel with them - ours did) then have a superhero dinner party with his best friend and you guys.

I totally get the anxiety. Despite six scans (and one I did with a stray echo machine...), I was nervous yesterday. Can't wait for movements. One of my friends bought a doppler to get her through the weeks between 12 and movement.

Very positive that cervix is still tightly shut Cook. Hope it stays that way and the little bean stays put. What a story to tell if so!

Scan yesterday - all looks okay, EDD 13th April. Long chat with the consultant about what happened last time and how we might monitor things. So he is doing my detailed scan and extra growth scans, as well as 2-weekly Kleihauer tests to look for fetal blood loss, and MCA dopplers to look for fetal anaemia. Admission at some point, then preterm induction, date to be negotiated - if all is going well, probably 35+w with steroid cover.

jobrum · 06/10/2016 08:30

one hopefully the days go by quickly while you're waiting for your next scan.

celen everyone has wobble days! And they are horrible. Hopefully you're feeling better.

Smile My mum is really lovely, always happy to help where she can, drives over once a week to get to ours for 7.30 on the day she looks after dd. But she always finds the negative in every situation. I am very selective with what I tell her about anything really. Which is a shame. But I'm doing a pretty good job with the one child I have, despite all the things I have apparently 'done wrong' so I try not to listen to her.

jobrum · 06/10/2016 08:31

Oooh, shark I'd be very excited by shutters! I am jealous.

TopKittyKat · 06/10/2016 08:48

One - that's great news. Hang in there! sorry you are suffering so much though. I hope the painkillers help.

jobrum - so sorry to hear your mum is being difficult. Try to ignore her (easier said than done, I know). As others have said, share news with those that can be happy for you.

Celen - I hope you're feeling happier about your DS's birthday. I'm sure he'll have a great time, whatever you decide to do.

Shark - I hope the shutter fitting goes well. We're getting new fitted wardrobes fitted in our bedroom tomorrow. Can't wait to have proper storage at last!

Hayls17 · 06/10/2016 09:12

chat lovely scan

Good luck to the ladies having their scans today, seem to remember a few of you saying it was Thursday

sarahhh1984 · 06/10/2016 09:20

one, that all sounds really promising. Keeping my fingers crossed for you but it sounds good!

Jobrum, sounds like you really don't need that with your mum. Try to ignore her. My MIL is somewhat like that so I just keep pretending she's not really there when she's winding me up. It's not the most mature response but it helps.

Monkey, I'm not quite as far along as you yet but I had that weird twitching feeling the other day. Turned out it was trapped wind. Blush I knew it wouldn't be early movement since I'm still not 12 weeks, so it freaked me out. Amused DH no end though.

Have had to take some time to go shopping today. Desperately need some new clothes. I'm down to three dresses and one pair of dungarees that actually fit me comfortably now. Normally only wear my dungarees in summer but needs must so I've had to team them with a jumper and some boots. DH insists I look very cool but I think I look like the missing member of Rod, Jane and Freddy! Confused

choccybiscuit · 06/10/2016 11:31

Sarah, I got a 30% off code for new look when I signed up to their email. Spent £31 on two pairs of jeans. I'm down to one pair of leggings until they arrive! Shock

jpeg28 · 06/10/2016 12:04

Need to catch up with posts.... but thought I would just post this photo of my scan. Grin I've gone forward two days so due date now 18th April!

MrsBac83 · 06/10/2016 12:11

Hello everyone.

Just back from holiday so taken some time to catch up with all the messages.

Sorry to hear about losses and all those that are still suffering Flowers

Congrats to all those that have had scans and can breathe a sigh of relief Smile

I'm in the latter club. We had our first scan yesterday and was so happy to see a very active baby in there. I haven't really suffered too bad in the way of symptoms so was half convinced I was making it up!!
But all seems well so far. Thank goodness. They put me forward 5 days so thought I was 12+5 today but actually 13+3. Only 5 days but seems a huge leap. Due date now at 10th April.

Not worth putting a picture up as baby was being stubborn (father's trait!) and not wanting to face the 'camera' The lady got all the measurements she needed and suggested me jiggling around - even doing star jumps - but it wouldn't have it! So we have a picture of the back of its head and spine!! It exists though so I don't even care.
The scan lady was really apologetic that she couldn't get a good picture and didn't charge us for it! Bless her. Not her fault. Hopefully 20 week scan will be clearer.

Finally being able to tell people though is amazing!!

Good luck to everyone else who still have scans to come [smile}

marmitecheesetoast · 06/10/2016 12:35

crazycook that sounds really positive that your cervix is still closed! I can't even begin to imagine how much of a roller coaster you must be on right now.

Jobrum so sorry to hear you feel your mums burst your pregnancy bubble. I had a similar feeling a few weeks ago following some of DHs families reaction (tied in to some of the family having fertility problems). It's a horrible feeling but you know your mums reaction is unreasonable and you can't be responsible for it. Hope you can manage to ignore her and rise above it!

Glad to hear you're feeling better Celen

Congrats on the scans chat and jpeg and mrsbac!

sarah where did you buy clothes from? I've been relying on leggings and two pairs of my looser jeans for now!

I think I'm starting to get the round ligament pains now, started last night got a really sharp stabbing pain when I stood up and has been bad this morning too... Fun! On the plus side only been sick one this week so far and nausea much better. Hello second trimester! 13 weeks tomorrow!

choccybiscuit · 06/10/2016 12:37

Great picture jpeg!
Sorry to hear baby was being camera shy mrsbac. My scans tomorrow, looking forward to it!

Helbelle75 · 06/10/2016 13:00

Fab scan pic jpeg and congrats on great scans everyone. I can't believe mine was nearly a week ago. I keep picturing this little wiggly baby in my tummy - it seems quite unreal.
Really impatient at work today. The kids seem really loud, and everything's getting on my nerves. When's it half term?!

MumiTravels · 06/10/2016 13:49

Lovely scans ladies.

I'm waiting on a friend coming for lunch. The tuna melts I've made are now cold Envy. I've drank both cups of tea. I hate faffers.

Don't mess with the pregnant lady.

sarahhh1984 · 06/10/2016 14:05

Congrats on the lovely scan pics, everyone!

Marmite, think I've tried on every pair of maternity jeans and leggings in Liverpool! None were good on me as all too short in the leg. I'm only 5'7" but I have quite long legs so I tend to need longer leg length but this doesn't seem to exist in maternity wear! In the end I bought a nice maternity skirt from Red Herring Maternity in Debenhams. It's just a pull on tube skirt with a bump panel but it's the sort I can dress up or dress down. Then I got three dresses from New Look. They're not maternity ones but looser fit shapes so I just opted for a size or two up. Along with the few dresses I have that still fit me and some oversized jumpers that should keep me going for a while!

Puggleface · 06/10/2016 15:54

Lovely to see more good scan news and pictures!
chat that sounds like a really positive appointment!
one I've been thinking about you! Sounds really promising! I agree, don't go running off and joining any other groups!

MyGreenSofa · 06/10/2016 16:16

Mrsbac - how fortunate you had a nice sonographer. When I had to rebook my scan yesterday because baby was in wrong position they all acted like it was my fault.

Had scan redone today (after making such a fuss about no scan slots available they call me in with only 2 hours notice!) and luckily all measurements done. Due date did change again so 15th April now, 12+5. Nice to see wiggly baby again!

MrsRhubarb · 06/10/2016 17:07

Appointment at EPU went well, baby seen with heartbeat and wiggly arms and legs, measuring correct for dates, no sign of where the bleeding came from (so I'm hoping that means it's less likely to occur again) Good job I already know it's baby shaped, as the pic they gave me requires some squinting and your imagination, but so relieved I don't care!

April 2017 #4 More baby scans, less morning sickness!
choccybiscuit · 06/10/2016 17:12

You must be so relieved MrsRhubarb ! So pleased for you. Sometimes it's just one of those things and we'll never know why we have bleeds. It's a little frustrating though Hmm

MrsRhubarb · 06/10/2016 17:33

Lots of catching up to do!

Hello to the new folks, lovely that the number of April babies is still growing.

Scandi Just reading everything you've got going on is exhausting enough. You are amazing. I'm barely able to contemplate painting DDs room, and tbh DH will probably end up doing most of it.

Mumi I might have to treat me and DD to a chip butty, I think that would properly hit the spot right now. But of course that fancy will probably have passed by the time I get a chance! How dare your friend let a good tuna melt go to waste. You should have eaten it with her cup of tea.

Choccy my folic acid is combined, so can't help you there.

Jobrum my DM was a nightmare when I was expecting DD. I felt like a naughty teenager who'd let her down rather than a grown woman, with a marriage, house and a very much planned and wanted presgnancy. It made it very hard, as she just didn't seem to share my excitement. It took her a while to get over it, quite a while after DD came, but she's great now and was over the moon when we told her about this one. DD was her first grandchild, and perhaps she was mourning that due to her and DF being divorced it wasn't going to be how she'd always imagined having grandchildren would be - going to "Grandma and Grandads house" and such. It made it very difficult for me at the time though.

Shark I hope your shutters are everything you'd dreamed they would be! Grin

Chat It must be a weight off your mind to already have a plan in place for keeping an eye on everything all the way through

Lovely pic Jpeg!

To all of those getting less symptoms, can you please tell my sicknes that? 13+4 here and thrown up three times in the past two days despite more ondansetron. Weight loss has slowed down though, only lost about 3lbs since I started taking it so it's obviously doing some good.
