Behold, the wonder of birth! Members from 6 weeks bfp to post-partum wonder Mamas! No question to grotty or minging.

We've come full circle from obsessing about cervical mucus to now obsessing if it's our vagina baby plug going! What larks!

Lots of talk about poo, ours and now babies too! Baby brain is REAL! This heat can kiss my arse. And who KNEW being so neurotic about which changing mat to buy could be so satisfying and addictive!

Sooo many gorgeous babies now! And equally lovely Mummy's! We are amazing! What a year! Can you believe it's been a year since our first tentative TTC thread!? Look how far we've come!

Roll up, literally, in my case, cause I'm practically rotund! for TTC #1 Grads!

Yay cosmo - hope it kick starts on its own and no need for induction!

LillianFullStop · 13/10/2016 11:57

OMG I'm just crying my eyes out now for no good reason and I can't stop Confused and yes I am now attributing this emotional outburst as a labour symptom. What IS going on with me?!

AudreyBradshaw · 13/10/2016 11:58

Happy birthday indi!

Woo good luck cosmo wishing you a speedy birth

Little lad is now 12lb9 weighed by HV this morning thats 6oz in two days! Such a little chunker.

Have braved shopping with him today (any south east ladies we have come to Lakeside). He is moany about being in the pram as he doesn't like being flat and is constipated so crying for food then straining and crying during a bottle too. Almost wish we hadnt bothered!

Mileymoocow · 13/10/2016 14:27

Oh nev poor little man. It's so difficult being out and about so well done you for doing it! Hope he feels better soon.

Massive happy birthday indi!! Hoe lovely of your DH. Hope you have a brilliant day!

Good luck co5mo! Hope things progress well, how exciting!

bunch that sounds so stressful. Look after yourself - you and little man are most important. In laws sound like they're being total dicks

audrey it's so lovely to hear you're getting on well now! You sound a lot happier Grin

We've been to baby play this morning which was fun. We made these boats out of feet painting. It was supposed to be 1 boat but his feet were so dinky we made 2! Then we popped into my work to see my colleagues which was lovely and he's been so spoilt again. Now having a well deserved feed and hopefully nap as it's been a bust day for him. Hope everyone's had a good day!

Mileymoocow · 13/10/2016 14:38

Excuse all the typos - I'm not used to this one handed typing quite yet. Would also help if I attached the photo

IndiX · 13/10/2016 16:37

Good luck Cosmo how exciting.

So I didn't end up going for afternoon tea. I've been really upset all afternoon. I'm finding the recovery really hard mentally. I'm used to being very independent, doing things when and how I want to and now I can't do anything. My mum has been great in looking after me but it's starting to stress me out and upset me that my house doesn't feel like mine anymore. My mum hasn't been taking over as such and has been really helpful but I just find it so hard to let go of control and I'm starting to really struggle.

My mum is also one of the most sensitive people I know so I mentioned her I want to start doing stuff for myself and that I want to feel normal again etc and she basically turned it round as me saying that I didn't want her here. This has ended in me sobbing all afterrnoon and just feeling guilty and like a shit person for not sounding appreciative to my mum for helping.
I think I'm just really struggling. At first I was finding it hard to adjust to a newborn but I'm getting in to a little routine with Autumn now and feeling a lot better. It's just everything else seems so hard now.

Sorry for the rant, just really upset and needed to vent. DH has been lovely and I also feel bad on him as he wanted me to have such a special birthday. I just feel so guilty that I've wrecked everyone's day.

Pinklily1 · 13/10/2016 21:13

Oh indi CakeFlowers I'm sorry you are feeling down. Maybe mention it to your midwife/health visitor so that they are aware of how you are feeling? Does your mum now understand that her help is appreciated?

PotatosMum · 13/10/2016 21:34

Wow! I have so much to catch up on!

Indi happy birthday Grin

So sorry you've had an emotional day but please don't let your mum make you feel guilty. You're not being ungrateful, of course you want to get back to normal. Your mums reaction says more about her insecurities than your behaviour.
Also, you will still be hormonal so any emotions you feel will be super charged.
I hope you feel better soon x

Lillian Arya's jabs were postponed until next week apparently she can't have them until she's over 8 weeks and she was only 7+5 Hmm
Sorry you're having mental hormones Sad I suggest a course of chocolate cake, it won't stop the crying but crying with chocolate cake is better than crying without it Hmm

Audrey yay! In getting a cot and glad your 34wk appointment went well Smile not long now Smile

Cosmo woohoo! You're having a baby!!!

Nev sorry your little man was grumpy while you were shopping Sad

Miley sounds like you've had a lovely day Smile love the idea of feet painting.

So Arya has been a busy little girl today. She's starting to work out the association between hitting something and the noise it makes. She's been going crazy for two toys with bells in all day. She's also started trying to grab toys and pull them to her, the concept is there, she just needs to work on the hand eye coordination.
She has also made the important development of learning to blow spit bubbles... Babies are delightful! Hmm

IndiX · 13/10/2016 21:54

Thanks pink/ potato, I'm feeling better this evening and me and my mum have had a chat. I'm a major control freak which I think is making this whole recovery process harder as I just want to get back to my normal self ASAP but I know I've had a serious operation. Plus my hormones are going crazy as I can just cry with no trigger sometimes. We've said we're going to do my birthday again over the weekend possibly.
Going to get an early night and hopefully tomorrow is a better day!

Btw what a clever girl Arya is potato. I can't wait for Autumn to start playing with toys.

PotatosMum · 13/10/2016 22:26

indi glad you're feeling better and have cleared the air with your mum Smile

It's lovely watching Arya play, she's still not got the hang of anything more complicated than hitting dangly things and trying to grab them but it's still adorable and not bad work considering she's only 8 weeks tomorro Shock

Does anyone else's baby flail like a dying seagull when you put them down to sleep. Arya can easily spend 20 minutes kicking and waving her arms in her sleep. Confused

mayago · 13/10/2016 22:40

Happy birthday Indi! I'm glad you've been able to have a chat with your mum. Doing your birthday over is a great idea. Tomorrow will be a better day Smile

Potato Arya sounds adorable. How does one even learn to blow spit bubbles? It must be amazing watching her progress.

Miley the footprint boat is so sweet! Baby play sounds like so much fun.

Nev I love Lakeside! Sounds like a completely different experience with a baby though!

Lillian hope the crying session has long subsided Flowers

Co5mo hope everything is going well and baby arrives safely soon!

Stardrey yay for the cot! And baby being engaged-ish. How's your OH enjoying the new job? Hopefully things are a bit more settled for you both.

Hope today was a better day Bunch! It's always trickier dealing with in-laws - you have my sympathies.

T3 started off a little crappy. I didn't sleep much all night, which was annoying as I didn't get up for a wee and I feel such nights should be celebrated! My nose has been bleeding all day, and I'm swollen, sore and headachy. No update on the stolen car, but I've had to talk to my ex-husband throughout the day. I'd rather have teeth pulled. And on that note, I've booked my first dental appointment since I've been pregnant for Monday morning. But on the up side I have been enjoying chocolate cake and kitty cuddles most of the day! And tomorrow will be a better day.

Co5mo · 14/10/2016 07:55

Very quick check in for now. Baby Arthur arrived at 10.45 last night by emergency CS. I will follow up with the full story asap. We're both doing fine. He's sleeping soundly right now, while I have had about 2 hours sleep in the last 30 hours 😪

Nevlet · 14/10/2016 08:02
