Behold, the wonder of birth! Members from 6 weeks bfp to post-partum wonder Mamas! No question to grotty or minging.

We've come full circle from obsessing about cervical mucus to now obsessing if it's our vagina baby plug going! What larks!

Lots of talk about poo, ours and now babies too! Baby brain is REAL! This heat can kiss my arse. And who KNEW being so neurotic about which changing mat to buy could be so satisfying and addictive!

Sooo many gorgeous babies now! And equally lovely Mummy's! We are amazing! What a year! Can you believe it's been a year since our first tentative TTC thread!? Look how far we've come!

Roll up, literally, in my case, cause I'm practically rotund! for TTC #1 Grads!

Audrey soda has nailed it! I took about 5 pairs of breast pads
24 maternity pads
A nightie for delivering in
A set of pyjamas
A dressing gown
Slippers
4 pairs of knickers and a pack of disposables
Toiletries (non scented shower gel!)
Loose fit clothing for going home
Hairbrush and bobble

I packed for baby:
4 sleep suits
4 vests
10 nappies
A cardigan
A blanket
2 hats (wooly ones, not the cotton ones)
Scratch mitts
I took a dummy with me just incase
Cotton wool
An outfit for coming home
A blanket

We have a no visitors after 6pm rule now because it was getting ridiculous danni

canters apparently she's calling in today to make sure I'm OK Hmm I think that's what I hate the most - people telling me they're coming instead of asking if it's OK. Look after yourself, definitely start your ML early! I had crippling pain in the couple of weeks leading up to my waters going.

nev the walk was fine Smile milo is reasonably well behaved so I didn't have an issue - it was surprisingly easy but we only walked around the local park which is about a mile. Sorry you didn't get much sleep but I did have a chuckle at the picture Grin

Mileymoocow · 02/10/2016 09:41

potato Harrison is already outgrowing his first size stuff which is up to 9lb because he's so long Sad it makes me sad, too. We're keeping the outfit he came home in and I have no idea what to do with the rest but I saw a website that makes teddies out of their outgrown outfits so may do that.

Feefeefs · 02/10/2016 10:16

Lovely photos miley!

Eeeek indi that's exciting!!!

That's miserable soda how're you feeling? You in pain?

Congratulations Lisa!

Glad you're feeling more yourself Audrey.

Hope you're feeling better canters sounds like finishing early is the right thing!

Co5mo · 02/10/2016 10:26

Next appointment is Wednesday (for a sweep) Potato. They weren't totally disinterested but it sounded like it wasn't that uncommon a call for them and because the volume was so small they'd expect to see more leaking. I'm pretty certain the membranes are intact as absolutely nothing seems to have changed.

ArtOfKnit · 02/10/2016 11:35

Congratulations Lisa and Indi how exciting! Only a few days to go!

Mileymoocow · 02/10/2016 15:56

Ladies Amazon have a flash sale on for the NimNik slings, they're down to £18! If anyone is interested Smile

Thanks Miley - ordered!

Co5mo · 02/10/2016 21:43

Thanks Miley. That's finally made up my mind and I've bought one.

LillianFullStop · 02/10/2016 23:04

Oh wow congrats on your baby girl Lisa! One more for team pink! Hope you are both doing well and you're enjoying your newborn snuggles.
*
Miley* that photo of Harrison is adorable! If that couldn't sell Sleepyheads I don't know what will - he looks so happy and content!

Canters sorry you've been in pain Confused I would listen to your body and if it says hell no to coming back another week after AL then it's probably right!

Cosmo strange that they didn't seem too concerned - what film did you see?

Indi yay to getting your date moved up!!! I can't believe you'll be meeting your little one so soon! So excited for you!

potato love that you are organised and you already have Christmas presents!! we haven't picked up a grow bag yet - what's the minimum baby weight for them?

So I finished work on Friday yay! Had a lovely leaving lunch (really good pizza place), got a voucher and a bottle of gin - I work with mostly males and I think I harped on enough about how much I miss a G&T! Another big milestone is I'm 37w today! I think LO got the memo because I've become a lot more uncomfortable this weekend - bump doesn't seem too much bigger but feeling definitely fuller and more solid - like she's filling out more of the gaps in there. The Braxton Hicks have ramped up and the fanny daggers have been stopping me in my tracks they are quite bad now actually. ConfusedConfusedConfused I was quite enjoying long walks but with the painful daggers make it impossible and I'm having to walk a lot slower to try to ease them. Been getting period cramps in the evening now too. I feel really pregnant now with all these symptoms!!! So so glad I'm not having to go to work this week!

PotatosMum · 03/10/2016 04:52

Lillian the grow bag I bought has a minimum weight of 8lb8lb but you can get others from birth. I can't recommend it highly enough as Arya sleeps so much better in then, last night she slept from 10 to 4 Shock bliss!!!

Glad your leaving do went well, hope you're not too uncomfortable but not long now!

Mileymoocow · 03/10/2016 06:39

Well i can't quite believe it. Fed Harrison at 11 last night, he woke at 3 for a feed and straight back to sleep until 6! 2nd night of good sleep.

lillian we're using the grosnug because Harrison is still too little for the bags and it really is fab. Plus I find it easier for nappy changes Wink

IndiX · 03/10/2016 07:19

Morning ladies,

Miley Harrison sounds like a little angel, what a good boy sleeping so well 2 nights on the run!

Lillian great news that's you've finished work! Not so great that all your preggo symptoms have ramped up but not long now. I was getting terrible fanny daggers the other night to the point I was yelping every 5 mins and DH kept saying 'oh no are you in labour'. I think it was just beanie headbutting my cervix though..Hmm enjoy your ML, rest and relax.

I'm so excited to hear from Lisa about how her and her baby girl are doing!

So I think I've mentioned it before but my mum is coming to stay with us until Xmas time when the baby arrives, to help round the house and just be an extra pair of hands while I recover and look after Beanie. We've been talking about the day she'll do the 'big drive' since February when I told her I was pregnant.. and today is the day!! It feels so surreal!
Me and my mum are very close and our house is relatively big so I'm not too concerned she'll get in my way or annoy me. I think I'll need all the help I can get.
I think becuase I have a definite day and time that I'm getting admitted that I have more time to think about everything, rather than if I suddenly went in to labour and had to deal with it. I am starting to get anxious about having a baby and will everything be ok etc, I know I'll be fine. Probably just last minute nerves.

I'm going to my last spin class today think I said that last week tooBlush but this is definitely the last time before beanie arrives!

Hope all mums, babies and preggos are doing wellSmile

Feefeefs · 03/10/2016 08:15

Congratulations on finishing and 37 weeks Lillian hope baby is getting ready to make an appearance!!

Adding grobag to the must have list now potato!

Grosnug first tho! Thanks miley! Sounds like Harrison's doing really well.

Enjoy your last class indi! Not long now!!

I'm 30 weeks today! Feeling every bit of it! Last 5 day week in work, 4 days per week after this!! 6 weeks left!!

PotatosMum · 03/10/2016 08:57

Miley yay on Harrison allowing you to sleep.

Arya went straight down after her 4am feed and is still happily snoozing. She's made a couple of thinking of waking noises but appears to be so comfy in her grow bag that she wants to stay where she is Shock plus, it's cold and if I was her I'd want to stay in bed too!!!

Indi enjoy having your mum to stay Smile it'll be nice for you to have a little extra help. I think close to the end most mums become a bit more aware of wanting their baby to be ok. I think it's probably the dawning realisation that the thing kicking you is a separate entity and not part of your body anymore and so your point of view changes.

Feef I would recommend getting grobags/grosnugs either on Amazon or eBay. We paid £35 for ours at mothercare but online you can get them for as little as £15 new Shock ours was worth every penny for how comfy it's made Arya but I won't pay mothercare prices again.

Right, I think Arya has finally decided it's time for breakfast so I had best feed her Smile

Canters15 · 03/10/2016 09:51

Ahhh thanks miley- one nimnik ordered! Did your MIL come over in the end? Did you avoid killing her?! Wow can't believe how well Harrison is sleeping, that's awesome!

indi you're going to be absolutely fine. I think it is a different experience when you know when baby is arriving in that like you say it gives you more time to think about things, but you're going to cope and you have your mum to help. Enjoy spin and try and do a few nice things for yourself before Wednesday!

lillian yay for finishing work! I'm in awe of you managing til 37 weeks!

potato I have the grobags but was wondering about what would be best when the boy is tiny....going to look at the grosnug now!

feefs yay for 4 day week!

Right, I am about to call work and request to start my mat leave....wish me luck!

LillianFullStop · 03/10/2016 11:14

Thanks potato and miley for the gro bag and gro snug recommendations. I might pick up a gro snug for now (birth weight is estimated to be 6lb) then I'll definitely look into those gro bags especially come November/December when it gets colder. So happy to hear Arya and Harrison are both sleeping well!

indi yes I'm very happy to have finished work - trying to get on top of my errands this morning and planning on a relaxing afternoon on the couch Grin. Yes my DH was the same - walking around yesterday he realised he was suddenly walking and talking to himself as I'd abruptly stopped in my tracks and he goes - are you SURE you're not in labour?! Enjoy your last spin class and glad your mum is on her way. Sounds like she would be a wonderful help especially while you are recovering from a C-section. Normal to have some anxiety but just think by Thursday LO will be all cuddled up with you!

Thanks feef LO definitely seems like she is getting ready and keen to come to the party!

canters there was a point where I was considering working until 38w but I am SO GLAD I didn't as I am really struggling this week now. Good luck on bringing your mat leave forward!!

Canters15 · 03/10/2016 15:51

Mat leave confirmed, I am freeeeeeeeeeeee and it feels so good! Now if this baby could just get his feet out from my ribs that would be great.....!

Co5mo · 03/10/2016 16:28

Great news Canters. Enjoy put in your feet up.

Argghhh. MIL has just let herself into our house unannounced and uninvited again. I was in the shower - she stayed long enough to have a poke around, fold up some blankets, move some cups and plates to the kitchen and leave. I came downstairs to a horrible someone's been in the house feeling. She is driving me mad. Would it be unreasonable to have a meltdown at her because I'm very close to it?

Nevlet · 03/10/2016 16:36

Urgh god no cosmo that would drive me mad! Definitely have a word.... mine does similiar but its a text every single morning offering to come and take Bodhi so I can sleep/ clean/ whatever. Its so insistent every day that I feel she wants me to be struggling and not cope just so she can take him away!

AudreyBradshaw · 03/10/2016 16:46

co5mo I think I'd hit the roof. Imagine if you were wandering round naked or something?! Can you leave keys in doors or put a chain across? You definitely need to tell Dh that MIL wandering about uninvited is NOT ok.

AudreyBradshaw · 03/10/2016 16:51

Excellent news canters enjoy your rest! Lovely exciting news about your dm being en route indi Grin somebody asked me when I was due today and I realised I could say "next month!" Good grief that seems to have come around quickly! 33 weeks on Wednesday! And dh has an official start date of next week! Woohoooooo!

Thank you very much potato and everyone for help with the hospital bag situation! You are all very excellent! Has anyone read the 'aibu to want more than toast' post natal thread. It's reminded me to write PACK SNACKS in massive letters at the bottom of my list. And a separate snack bag for dh! 2

OP posts:
BunchOfBobs · 03/10/2016 17:11

Just a quick post to say huge congrats Lisa.

Stardrey the toast is rather epic though. It's all I wanted my entire hospital stay and for the first week at home. Mmmm toast and butter.

Yay canters, rest up now, your body clearly needs the rest.

Co5mo I second the leaving the key in the door trick.

Indi I have my parents here every Sunday through tues/Wednesday, prior to having Atticus I would have said no way I would have Mum with me that much as we were prone to clashes. They've been the most amazing help and as you are already close to your mum I'm sure you'll really enjoy having her there. Woohoo to the big drive being in progress.

It's jab day tomorrow nooo. Also had a bad night last night due to me having an upset tummy. Atticus was a champ though, seems to be choking though so thinking he may have silent reflux which would explain a lot. Will ask tomorrow.

Sorry to those I've missed, I've only got home last night, spent the last few days swing family and due to last night had a really slow start to the day.

Hope Mamas, Babas and Mamas to be all are well.

LovelyFishy · 03/10/2016 17:51

Hello all! Figured it might be about time to dip my toes in the pool.

Fishy

7+3 with terrible nausea

I see a couple of names I recognise, great to see how well everyone seems to be doing! Grin Btw MIL arriving unannounced? I can't think of anything worse!

IndiX · 03/10/2016 18:14

My mum has arrived! Yay!

Lovely congratulations! Sorry you have nausea, I had terrible nausea too from weeks 6-9, no actual vomiting though and the rest of pregnancy has gone smoothly ( except for the odd aches and pains, moans and groans). Wishing you lots of health and happiness in the next 9 months Grin

Aww bunch poor little Atticus. Jab day will be horrible I'm sure but I'm sure he's a strong little thing so he'll be fine, you'll probably be worse than him! Will be thinking of you both. Sorry you're feeling rough, hope your tummy has settled.

Yay canters great news about ML!!

Audrey amazing about DH's start date and yesss you don't have long left!

Cosmo I would go mental!!! My Nan used to do that at my mum's house when we were on holiday but not actually when we were in the house! I would definitely have a word or get DH to!

Thanks Lillian! I can't believe I'm next..aaaahhh!Grin
