Behold, the wonder of birth! Members from 6 weeks bfp to post-partum wonder Mamas! No question to grotty or minging.

We've come full circle from obsessing about cervical mucus to now obsessing if it's our vagina baby plug going! What larks!

Lots of talk about poo, ours and now babies too! Baby brain is REAL! This heat can kiss my arse. And who KNEW being so neurotic about which changing mat to buy could be so satisfying and addictive!

Sooo many gorgeous babies now! And equally lovely Mummy's! We are amazing! What a year! Can you believe it's been a year since our first tentative TTC thread!? Look how far we've come!

Roll up, literally, in my case, cause I'm practically rotund! for TTC #1 Grads!

Sorry I've been awol - I'm enjoying being tended on at my sister's in Canada Smile

Good luck Lisa! I can't wait to read all about the next thread baby.

Art I hope the bleeding turns out to be nothing. I had a tiny bit before the 12 week scan, but have had a pretty uneventful pregnancy thus far!

Sorry Atticus has been difficult Bunch. I hope the decent night of sleep helps you!

Miley I'm glad Harrison is letting you sleep! I hope the sleepyhead works as well for us when our turn comes.

Potato I hope the drops help Arya. I can't stand nasal sprays, but they do work!

Indi the 7th is really soon! That's come around really quickly. I hope they don't move your date - it must be nice to have a bit of a plan.

I'm baby shopping with my sister tomorrow. We've already bought new maternity clothes for me, so it's finally baby's turn.

My sister works with newborns in a hospital. She took me to the maternity ward yesterday and we spoke to the lactation consultant there who has 30 years of experience delivering babies. She took one look at me and said I should have a fairly easy labour as I'm tall and my torso is fairly long. Apparently bigger feet indicate a more accommodating pelvis, so that's another 'win' for me right there. My sister and mum had short labours, and she's anticipating the same for me. My sister's three kids were all early, which freaks me out a bit since I don't want to spend the Christmas holidays in labour Hmm

AudreyBradshaw · 29/09/2016 13:03

Just got two free tickets to the baby show in Manchester next Friday! Didn't think know it would work from the link but it did. So me and DM are going. Made up because I was going to buy tickets last week and then forgot!

Midwife yesterday went well. Measuring fine, all well with baby. Sent off for maternity grant (midwife says we qualify at present) which would be a massive bonus. One more day of dogs and sister, which in fairness, has been fine. Then dentist visit, pregnancy polyps and preggers gingivitis (ew!) So having them cleaned by hygienist in a week or so (that'll be a blood bath for everyone involved, I'm not good with mouth stuff at all, just keep thinking though, if I can give birth, I can do anything, so I need to woman up about the dentist!)

Dh still mildly irritating me, I think it's 70% hormones, but he still doesn't seem to quite get it. Especially with the getting up. He's been off work for a fortnight, he should have got himself into a routine now, Im bored of prompting him so today I've left him be, he's still asleep. No surprise there. I'm worried about him slipping into depression, he's no "reason" to get up, roll on getting this blinking start date!

Phew self centred rant! Right, catch up read!

Fingers crossed for you Art. Hopefully 10 days will fly by and the next scan is reassuring.

Well that's my final scan done. Baby is still on the short side in his arms and legs so we're definition on for a sweep on Tuesday and induction two weeks today. Keep your fingers crossed for me that this one wants to come before that. Not sure how accurate the weight estimate from the scan is but they're estimating he's 6lb exactly today.

leoniethelioness · 29/09/2016 13:57

Co5mo Theodore was estimated at 6 lbs at 35 weeks and was born at 35+1 weighing 5 lbs 13 oz so our scan was fairly accurate.

BunchOfBobs · 29/09/2016 16:35

Ladies if you have a local one get yourselves down to Mothercare to have a look at their sale. Just picked up this adorable romper. Label says £5, it went through as a whole quid!! £1!! ShockGrin

Omg bunch that is beyond adorable!

The mood in Casa Starky will lift considerably once Misery guts (dh) gets back from the gym! We have a payroll number being issued tomorrow meaning he can then have a start date! Woohoooooo! 🎉🎊🎉🎊🎉🎊🎉🎊🎉🎊

Great news Audrey.

Very cute Bunch. I was looking at tiny pumpkin suits today but the smallest they had was 3-6 month so no good for my two week old tiddler come Halloween.

marmitecheesetoast · 29/09/2016 18:52

Thanks all scan went really well! Baby was fast asleep and MW couldn't get him to wake up at all at first (he/she was in wrong position to measure nuchal fluid) but when she eventually go them moving I was amazed at how much they wiggled and bounced around - didn't expect to see them move around so much at all for some reason! Was very surreal and amazing! Still finding it a very abstract concept that that wiggly snowman like thing is inside me and will one day be an actual baby?! Like, how did that happen??!!WinkGrin Potato seeing as you've asked I've attached scan pic, although don't think it's a a very good one! Plus they look like Pinocchio as hand up by face!!
I'm feeling a bit like a pin cushion though as after 2 MWs and 3 failed attempts I was sent over to the phlebotomist! I've got really good veins though and have never had a problem having blood taken before and phlebotomist had no problem so no idea what that was about. My arms are rather sore now and I have a cracker of a bruise developing already Hmm They put me at 11+6 so 2 days ahead of where I thought and EDD now 14th April. Apparently I am also rheses negative so will need an injection later in pregnancy.

Hope your appointment went well Indi and your date doesn't get moved, not far away at all!

Hope the bleeding stops soon Nev hot tub and proseco sounds amazing right now... Be a while away for me!!

Glad GP was reassuring Potato good luck with the drops!!

Hope you treated yourself to something nice in town today Miley!

Bunch that is beyond adorable and what a bargain!! Sorry to hear you've been having a difficult time but glad last night was better, fx for another good night tonight!

I'd seen that was on next weekend too Audrey my friend had a deal for discounted tickets which she offered me. DH away at beer festival though and probably a bit early for us really! I'm sure there'll be lots more opportunities. Great that you got free tickets! And great news that your DH will have a start date soon, what a relief!!

Hope everyone else is well! I've just been to M&S to buy bigger bras! Spent rather more than I intended Blush

Just checking in I hope everyone is doing well - woah cheering on Lisa! Another vanilla baby announcement and either the last September or the first October arrival Star!

Last day at work tomorrow and it will probably be a half day. YAY!

may I hope they are right and you are one of the lucky ones! Meanwhile I am 4'11 with size 2 UK feet so I am expecting carnage to ensue when D-Day comes Confused Confused. I did have a very unrealistic dream last night that I'd given birth to my LO, came home and was confused at the lack of soreness and stitches... then I wondered... "Have they left the epidural in when they sent me home?"

stardrey sorry it's been a rough roller coaster lately but it sounds like DH is closer to a start date now and things settle down!

bunch that is so cute! christmas and halloween outfits are on my shopping list

potato glad it's just some congestion and not asthma - saline drops in the nose will not be fun for little Arya Confused - hope it at least works to clear the congestion.

soda i like the sound of mums and bubs cinema (and cake. and patrick dempsey) i think the cinema near me does something similar so thats something to look forward to! do they keep the sound turned low or the same volume as a normal cinema?

marmite congrats on the happy scan!

art i hope all is well. try to be positive and good luck on the follow up scan. I had some bleeding at 8 weeks but I think it was implantation bleed and my LO is now 36+4

AudreyBradshaw · 29/09/2016 19:39

Marmite this is how addled my brain is but I was just about to type "don't worry about the baby show, I'm sure there's another one in October" .... good grief, baby brain is a thing! Gorgeous scan! I love 12 week scans, congratulations! 🌹

leoniethelioness · 29/09/2016 19:52

Ahhh I'm a size 2, Lillian. Tell me where you buy your shoes, haha! I am living in Skechers.

PotatosMum · 29/09/2016 20:57

Indi Arya was none too impressed by the drops. She didn't cry but has been acting like a grumpy teen ever since having them Confused

Canters sorry you're struggling but I hope you manage to enjoy your week off.

Bunch I read somewhere that babies have a natural crying spike around 6 weeks. Arya's definitely going through this, do you think it may have contributed to Atticus being difficult? Arya's certainly being a little madam at the moment Hmm

Bloody hell that a a bargain! Must go to mothercare!!!

Mayo good that you're having fun in Canada and getting to do some baby shopping. Not sure about the big feet thing, I have size 4's and my pelvis was just about the only thing that didn't cause trouble Wink

Audrey enjoy the baby show Grin glad the midwife went well and hope the dentist goes well too I'll keep my dentist horror stories to myself Confused
Fab news about your OHs start date.

Marmite woohoo! You have your very own jumping bean! Just wait until you can feel all that wriggling Shock

Feefeefs · 29/09/2016 21:19

Have had a mad week sorry for the silence!

Sorry about your disappointing reaction marmite my brother and his wife are struggling too but they have made an effort to be excited hopefully his sisters come around and show a bit more enthusiasm. Lovely scan!

Congratulations on last week in work Lillian.

Sounds like a rough day/week potato hope things are looking up.

Ugh Audrey sounds like a rough night! I almost threw a cereal bowl at DH after I failed my driving test! Lack of sleep is horrendous, the only thing that helps me is taking each day as it comes and trying to be kind to myself. You won't regret this baby and you will get through this rough patch.

That health visitor sounds a nightmare miley!!

Hate when people make comments like that soda!! Busybodies!

Eekkk for Lisa hope we see a picture soon and all is well!
I've got massive feet mayago and am tall but with a short torso? Hopefully also good for labour!!

Awww that romper is so cute bunch! Was at mothercare last night but they didn't have it Sad

Co5mo · 29/09/2016 22:35

So I don't know but that could be my waters gone. Complicating factor... I got out of a swimming pool a couple of hours ago. How can I tell the difference between pool water and amniotic fluid??? What a ridiculous question 😱

IrregularCommentary · 29/09/2016 23:11

How does your bump feel Co5mo? Mine didn't feel hard any more once my waters went. They did go in a big gush though, none of this gentle trickling!

I'd ring the hospital and get advice if you think they may have gone, they'll almost certainly want to check you over.

Good luck! xx

(Ps - I'll be at the Royal tomorrow afternoon with Tam so will think of you when I'm there if it is your waters)

LillianFullStop · 29/09/2016 23:47

Leonie I love shoes but I find it so stressful! For sneakers I can fit into kids sizes (good because they are cheaper Wink) some shops sell size 2 or 3s that run small and I just add insoles. Hobbs, Jones the Bootmaker and Russell and Bromley all do size 2. Also if you don't mind online shopping some US brands do Size 5/35 (Nordstrom or Shopbop ship to UK and include the cost of customs!)

Thanks feef I'm going to take it easy for my last day tomorrow and will be skipping out of there - as best as a 36+5 pregnant lady can skip anyway!

Cosmo I would call in and ask for advice. Ive seen some posters say to put on a pad and lie down. When you get up it you can take a look at what trickles into the pad. Apparently your waters will smell sweet so should easily be distinguishable from urine or pool water? See what your MW says they might get to to come in and check!

Sounds exciting!

Co5mo · 30/09/2016 01:49

Definitely wasn't urine and as I had only had a poolside shower, it's pretty difficult to know what it was as there wasn't a distinguishable smell, but there hasn't been a repeat yet so I think it was probably pool water not that that has ever happened before but I guess pregnancy changes your anatomy

Getting a lot of period like pain so just got up to take some paracetamol. Think I'll leave it to the morning now as I'm not leaking anything.

Hope everything goes well tomorrow Irregular

Mileymoocow · 30/09/2016 07:33

Morning!

Thinking of you lisa, hope baby has made an appearance Grin

co5mo definitely call them, the longer you leave it after waters have gone the more likely you are to be kept in hospital for antibiotics and monitoring. I had no idea mine had gone - I thought I was just weeing a bit Blush

marmite lovely scan! As predicted, I bought myself sweet FA! Harrison got 2 new books and a couple of new outfits though. He was beyond amazing and didn't kick off at all! In fact he only stirred twice for a feed and a bum change. He did projectile poo in the changing room though Shock

bunch that is amazing! Can't wait to see Atticus in it! John Lewis have their baby Christmas jumpers in, I was looking to buy one yesterday but they're so expensive so may have to go for a look in mother care!

lillian happy last day at work! Hope it flies over for you Grin

Audrey lovely that you got tickets to the baby show! And also that your DH can start his job soon! So glad things seem to be on the up for you Grin

OH is back at work today. Had a good night with little man and seem to be averaging about 4.5/5 hours sleep a night. He wakes every 2/3 hours for a feed then settles after about 15 mins so I get to go almost straight back to sleep. We're having a day in the house today after I bled very slightly yesterday (I think from walking around town for a good few hours). Think I'll try the whole 'sleep when baby sleeps' thing.

Co5mo · 30/09/2016 07:40

Think I got myself over excited. Still completely bone dry so unlikely that it was my waters Blush. DH has banned me from aqua next week Sad.

Mileymoocow · 30/09/2016 08:06

co5mo I'd still be tempted to call your PAU. Even if it's a false alarm Smile

OK, daddy has gone, but we have this cracked. For now...

Thread 12 TTC#1 Grads. "You are my favourite thing that ever shit all over my hands"
marmitecheesetoast · 30/09/2016 08:29

Thanks for all the scan congrats! It's definitely beginning to sink in a bit more! Need to start feeling people now!

Enjoy your last day at work Lillian! Hope your colleagues have some nice wee surprises for you!

Ha thanks Audrey! Grin enjoy the show.

Sounds like Harrison has got this shopping thing down already Miley! Wink Appart from maybe the projectile poo! Hope all goes well today he looks so peaceful and cosy there!

Hope all is going well with Lisa!

I started the day violently throwing up two dry water biscuits and a load of bile Hmm that's bad even for me! Breakfast seems to have stayed put though...so far! I told work yesterday afternoon so at least I don't have to worry about hiding feeling crap now.

DH is taking me for Nandos and to see Bridget Jones tonight Grin

Mileymoocow · 30/09/2016 08:35

Ooooo Nandos. One of my favourites! Enjoy marmite Grin I've never seen any Bridget Jones and I feel like I'm missing out! I'll put it on my maternity list. He's zonked for now. He's going through a brilliant phase of feeding for between 5 and 20 minutes every couple of hours but can also demand more boob café after 20 minutes

IndiX · 30/09/2016 11:01

Morning ladies,

OMG I'm so excited my date has been changed to WEDNESDAY 5th!!! 2 days earlier than planned, I could've cried with excitement! Only 5 days to goGrinGrin

Still at the hospital but will catch up soon. Hope everyone is doing well x

leoniethelioness · 30/09/2016 12:05

Wow, Indi! Some advice - make the most of sleep and cuddles with your DH. Both are harder with a newborn!

leoniethelioness · 30/09/2016 12:07

Also, ladies - I'm wearing jeans for the first time in about five months. Yes, they are maternity jeans in a size larger than normal but THEY ARE NOT LEGGINGS! I seem to have a belly about 3 sizes bigger than the rest of my body at the moment. 😣
