Behold, the wonder of birth! Members from 6 weeks bfp to post-partum wonder Mamas! No question to grotty or minging.

We've come full circle from obsessing about cervical mucus to now obsessing if it's our vagina baby plug going! What larks!

Lots of talk about poo, ours and now babies too! Baby brain is REAL! This heat can kiss my arse. And who KNEW being so neurotic about which changing mat to buy could be so satisfying and addictive!

Sooo many gorgeous babies now! And equally lovely Mummy's! We are amazing! What a year! Can you believe it's been a year since our first tentative TTC thread!? Look how far we've come!

Roll up, literally, in my case, cause I'm practically rotund! for TTC #1 Grads!

So many thread babies now! 👶👶👶👶

PotatosMum · 28/09/2016 15:00

Leonie woohoo! On due date Grin

Soda ah, it was a man, that explains a lot. I don't think it's likely a woman would have said anything except "aww you poor thing".

Lisa yay! You're having a baby!!!! Grin

Arya and I have been out and about today. I needed to go to the Drs and then go to the local Health Visitor baby weighing so I decided to go to costa. Arya was having a great time looking over my shoulder at all the women with babies (Costa is opposite the weigh in) getting their coffee.
The weigh in wasn't what I expected. It was a self weigh, there were about a dozen scales set up and to HVs in attendance. We had to take turns using the scales ourselves. There were loads of people there and everyone was fawning over Arya as she was the you gets there.
She's put on loads of weight. And gone from 6lb12oz when she was born to 9lb at 5 weeks Shock

Potato Grin And great news on Arya's weight.

Lisa sounds exactly like how my waters went and they induced me too with the syntocin drip as no contractions. I had an epidural and found it fine. Lots of luck, looking forward to hearing about the next thread baby! Thinking of you.

Danni89 · 28/09/2016 18:38

Wooo good luck lisa!!

potato - same with Mason, bloody chunk has gone up from 7'1 to 8'13 in 4 weeks!

soda, I'm defo going to look into the baby cinema, and that man can sod off and mind his business about the rain cover (remembers to pack rain cover in bag)

Happy due date leonie!

Hope everyone else is ok

Pinklily1 · 28/09/2016 19:16

Good luck lisa, so exciting!!

Great weight gains from Arya and Mason!

PotatosMum · 29/09/2016 03:56

Danni congrats on Mason's weight gain, that brilliant Smile

Wondering if Lisa's gone into active labour naturally over night.

We're a bit worried about Arya's breathing. It sounds like she has phlegm in her throat, it's not all the time but fairly frequently. OH has asthma and I have very severe childhood asthma which had me in and out of hospital like a yoyo when I was about 5 so I'm a little worried Arya will be the same Sad

LisaTheSimpson · 29/09/2016 07:34

Poor little Arya. Is there a test they can do to see if she does have asthma (sorry, I've never had it and know nothing about asthma)?

Still here, no contractions. Nada. Zilch. Nothing. Heading off to the hospital in an hour or so.

Thanks to everyone for your best wishes!

ArtOfKnit · 29/09/2016 07:39

Morning all,

This thread is brilliant - so helpful and much better than any baby book! Good luck lisa!!

marmite I can't believe your sis in law reacted like that - that must have really burst your bubble Sad

I had some spotting a few nights ago that turned into red bleeding (though only when I wipe, no stains in knickers) the next night so I had a scan at the EPU yesterday. They said it was too early to see anything like heartbeat, but could see the embryo and that it looks like it's in the right place for 5weeks. I've got to go for a repeat scan in 10days, and go to my booking in appointment next week, but I'm not feeling very hopeful as I had more red blood last night and this morning. The consultant also mentioned that I had corpus luteum on both ovaries "but don't worry that doesn't necessarily mean twins" Confused

PotatosMum · 29/09/2016 07:59

Art I hope all is well at your next scan. Spotting, even with red blood is fairly common and unless it's heavy it doesn't necessarily mean anything is wrong.

Lisa there's no test for asthma in babies this young and it's probably just me being an over protective FTM. Still, I think I might make her a dr appointment.

Pinklily1 · 29/09/2016 08:04

I hope everything is ok Art, fingers crossed for your next scan.

Good luck today lisa!

potato, I hope Arya is ok. I'd take her to the doctors to be checked over just in case.

For the new mummies, how soon after birth have you/will you start exercising? I've been doing a lot of walking and was planning to wait until after my six week check to do anything else (running and the gym) but just wondered what others have done? I'm starting to get itchy feet and feel the need to exercise, but don't want to do any harm! I have also developed a slight post birth biscuit/cake addiction which needs to. E nipped in the bud ShockCakeCakeCake

marmitecheesetoast · 29/09/2016 08:08

Awesome weight gains by Arya and Mason Potato and Danni - well done mummies!

Sorry to hear you're worried about poor wee Arya Potato hopefully the doctor might be able to put your mind at rest a bit?

Thanks Art it was a bit of a come down. Fingers crossed for you that all is well at next scan. I've heard that spotting in early pregnancy can be quiet common and is not necessarily anything to worry about. Hope the next 10 days go quickly for you.

I'm off for 12 week scan shortly, eek! Have not slept much last night between the excitement/apprehension, weeing and vivid dreams!

Thinking of Lisa!!

leoniethelioness · 29/09/2016 08:21

Pink I'm only just starting to walk a bit more now. I'm 5 weeks post partum - but had a caesarean. I can't imagine finding the time to exercise in the week, to be honest, as I've not got anyone who could watch baby for me so I'll probably stick to walking everywhere.

Danni89 · 29/09/2016 08:36

Itching to do some sit ups pink to get rid of the last bit of podge, but I'm going to wait till the 6 week check up before I start, just to be on safe side. Although, I just about squeezed into old jeans yesterday- just the jelly belly to go.

Good luck marmite for your 12 week scan!!

Danni89 · 29/09/2016 08:37

And I hope everything is ok art, hoping the next few days fly by so you can get some reassurance x

IndiX · 29/09/2016 08:52

Morning ladies,

Good luck for today Lisa so excited for our next thread baby!

Art I hope everything goes well at the next scan, spotting is very common at the early stages but sending you lots of luck that everything is ok.

Good luck for your 12 week scan marmite, it's so surreal and amazing when you see your baby on the screen. Hope it all goes well.

Yeah maybe get her checked if you're worried potato, I have mild asthma (only really sets off with hay fever or if I have a cold/chest infection) I can't remember how I was tested or when it was diagnosed tbh. Hope Arya is ok though and well done for the weight gain!

Pink how many weeks post partum are you now? I think I'll feel the same and it's one of the things I'm nervous about for my ELCS recovery. I get really grumpy and agitated if I can't exercise so I think I'll be doing lots of walking when I'm up to it.

Hope all mummies and preggos are doing well.
I have my pre-op appointment tomorrow morning and I'm really hoping they don't push my ELCS date back. I'm booked in on a Friday and can't really see them booking me in on a weekend but then if they push it back to the week after, that is REALLY close to my 40w due date. I'm probably stressing for nothing, I just have the 7th in my head now and don't want them to change it!

Going to put a wash on, get to the gym and try to clear my head a bit. Hope you all have a lovely day x

Nevlet · 29/09/2016 09:11

Morning! Been away at my parents a few days for my little sisters 21st so lots to catch up on now will try my best but sorry if I miss anything big!

Pink I am starting to use the cross trainer as its no higher impact than walking but waiting till 6 week check to do much more. I want to get out cycling but am afraid it will agitate where my stitches were- they are totally healed but still achey and tender if you poke them about.

Potato hope poor little Arya just has a snotty nose and not asthma!

Indi fingers crossed your elcs date doesn't change!

Its over 4 weeks now and I am still bleeding a fair amount on and off - will stop for a day then start again with a few clots occasionally still. Its brown not red and sorry for TMI but more CM texture than blood. Wish it would just stop for good I want back in the hot tub with a glass of prosecco haha!

PotatosMum · 29/09/2016 09:32

Pink I tried a exercise class I used to find easy at 5 weeks... I managed 10 minutes of it and nearly died!
Also my back was killing me for 3 days afterwards Sad

Good luck on your scan Marmite don't forget to share your scan photos, I miss seeing lots of scan photos Smile

Danni so jealous you can fit into your normal jeans Shock

Indi good luck with the pre-op appointment.

Nev My blood loss went a bit like yours at 4 weeks then stopped at about 4.5 weeks... Then I ovulated almost immediately and my period started just past 5 weeks Hmm

I think I'm going to call the dr in a bit. It can't hurt after all.

Pinklily1 · 29/09/2016 09:42

Good luck for your scan marmite!

indi, I'm 3 weeks pp. it's mainly the running I want to get back into, I'm worried that I'll have lost the ability to run in the past few months!! I'll stick to walking until after my six week check though.

PotatosMum · 29/09/2016 11:18

Just got back from the dr. Arya's breathing sounds fine so the dr thinks she's producing excess mucus which is fairly common so she's given me some salt water nose drops... I'm sure Arya will love those!!!! Confused
Apparently Arya may also have a very slight flow murmur which again is very common and should disappear as she gets older.

IndiX · 29/09/2016 11:41

Oh I'm glad there's nothing to worry about potato. Yeah I'm sure Arya will love nose drops Hmm

Pink I'm sure your first run will make you want to throw up tbhConfused but your fitness will come back. That's what I worry about that I'll lose all my fitness but I ( and you) carried on until late pregnancy so I'm sure we'll get there eventually. Yeah I want to do walks and maybe some swimming in my recovery time.

Canters15 · 29/09/2016 11:45

Morning ladies. Sorry about the bleeding art, keeping everything crossed that all is well.

Glad nothing too serious with arya potato.

I managed a grand total of 30 minutes at work this morning before getting sent home! Having loads of pain low down on the left side of my pelvis plus uti type symptoms (though wee is clear), I think the baby has dropped down, but it's making walking really tricky. Thankfully I've got a week off work now and then just one week before mat leave....I would definitely finish a bit earlier if there's ever a next time.

Hoping all goes ahead for 7th indi!

Mileymoocow · 29/09/2016 11:50

lisa good luck! What an exciting time!

Pink my bleeding has stopped (very lucky at only 2 weeks pp) and had all intentions of waiting until 6 weeks too with the exception of walking but I'm desperate to get back to the gym! I answered the door to HV in my gym stuff the other day and got into trouble for exercising though. I wasn't - it was just one of the few things I could quickly throw on that hadn't been wee'd on or had boob milk on. My stitches feel fine other than itching like mad sometimes so I think I'll be back before 6 weeks.

potato I'm glad there's nothing to worry about with Arya! They do like to make us worry though.

OHs last day off today so we're going to town. Hopefully I'll buy myself some new clothes but more than likely I'll come home with things for Harrison. He deserves it for being such a gem last night - up every 2/3 hours for a feed and bum change then straight back to sleep. The sleepy head is amazing.

Hope everyone is ok! I'll be less ignorant from tomorrow, things have been completely manic with visitors etc and I have no idea where time is going.

BunchOfBobs · 29/09/2016 12:27

Eek I disappear for a couple of days and there's a new thread baby on the way. Thinking of you Lisa.

Sorry I've been awol the last few days. Atticus has been really difficult and I've been struggling with him and the lack of sleep. Feeling much better now (I ran off to my parents as DH had to work away). He slept amazing last night, between 11pm and 6am I got 6 hours sleeep. Amazing. Don't know if it's the lack of DH or the change of mattress i'm on a tempur mattress here, at home it's igel and sprung. DH here tonight so we shall see.
Hope all Mamas, bubbas and preggos are doing well
