Behold, the wonder of birth! Members from 6 weeks bfp to post-partum wonder Mamas! No question to grotty or minging.

We've come full circle from obsessing about cervical mucus to now obsessing if it's our vagina baby plug going! What larks!

Lots of talk about poo, ours and now babies too! Baby brain is REAL! This heat can kiss my arse. And who KNEW being so neurotic about which changing mat to buy could be so satisfying and addictive!

Sooo many gorgeous babies now! And equally lovely Mummy's! We are amazing! What a year! Can you believe it's been a year since our first tentative TTC thread!? Look how far we've come!

Roll up, literally, in my case, cause I'm practically rotund! for TTC #1 Grads!

I don't think I've had any BH yet. But baby's gone back into lying transverse again now, uncomfortable little bugger keeps stretching and I look soo much bigger when it's transverse as opposed to head down!

co5mo he hadn't got a start date yet, but it depends on when the CRB/References clear and come back so it could be a couple of weeks yet. By then ill be at least 33 weeks, and you have to have been employed with a company for 26 weeks to be entitled to anything. Tbh we can't afford it at the minute anyway, and he wouldn't have got any with the last job so nothing lost in that sense!

Thanks all, audrey love the term arsehat to describe GP Grin it's the kind of description my DH would use too!

Love the idea of the teeny baby clothes laundry! Aahh

I might have to check out Kerrang too now to relive my teen years!

Can't wait til 12 week scan on Thursday now, really over the whole secret keeping phase!

Sodasoda · 24/09/2016 23:10

Audrey - I never had any BH at all.

Cosmo - I thought j was in labour when I was really constipated too! Blush

Bunch / pink - Alexa is really dinky! Newborn clothes are still too big for her! I can't imagine her getting bigger, part of me wants her to stay little forever! Smile

ArtOfKnit · 25/09/2016 08:05

Hi all, do you mind if I join you? I know that most of you have already had/about to have your babies, but feel like it might be a little insensitive to post on the TTC board, especially as I wasn't on it for very long

PotatosMum · 25/09/2016 09:33

Hi art, congratulations and welcome Grin don't worry, there are a few people here at the beginning/middle of their pregnancy journey, it's just us oldies who've been here forever tend to be more vocal Wink

So excited, I just bought a blank wooden advent calendar for Arya so I can make her a personalised one she can use every years. I'm going to make 24 little charms so that every day she gets a chocolate and gets to hang up a charm on little wooden pegs Smile the DSC have expensive versions their mum bought them but they're really hard to come by and very expensive so I thought I'd put my art training to use and make something just for her instead Grin

I had a few people over for my birthday yesterday, funnily enough they all brought me little presents... Most of them were for Arya who very kindly threw up on me three times while they were here Hmm
She now has a hand print kit, lots of socks, a new jacket and a fabric book Smile I got a blanket, cake plates and cider so apparently my friends think I need sleep, cake and alcohol lol Grin

Trying to convince OH we should start painting Arya's room today... I don't think he's convinced as he's snoring rather loudly beside me Confused

Mileymoocow · 25/09/2016 09:42

HI art! You're more than welcome here of course. Congratulations on your pregnancy and how incredible you got pregnant on your first cycle!

pink we're having the same issue! For all he's a prem he's so bloody tall! He's outgrown a lot of his sleepsuits already so will definitely take a look at the little white company. I've been cooing over their stuff for a while but the prices put me off Blush

Audrey my BH weren't strong at all, they just felt like a mild tightening in my stomach! Sounds like you're having the dream pregnancy but the shit you're going through with DHs job and family etc you definitely deserve it.

marmite that's ridiculous! Just to echo everyone else - your GO sounds like a wanker.

Hope everyone's OK! We were going to go out and about today but the weather is awful so PJs and a crappy film on the sofa it is Grin Harrison managed to let me get about 5 hours sleep last night so I'm not too shabby.

I'm feeling my milk let down I think? My nipples are tingly every so often Shock

Pinklily1 · 25/09/2016 09:57

Welcome art and congratulations!!

miley, what's the milk let down? I've had tingly nipples too.

If you google The a White Company and voucher codes, there is currently a code for 20% off The Little White Company and free delivery.

LillianFullStop · 25/09/2016 10:28

Welcome art and congrats on the pregnancy! There are other first trimester mums on the thread so don't worry Smile

Picked up a couple of Little White Company bits from the sales a couple of months ago - it's true miley prices are eye watering unless on sale or with a discount code. Especially when you think they will grow out of them so quickly it almost feels like buying disposable things!!!

those presents sound nice potato Grinsounds like a nice birthday!

DH and I realised we both missed our anniversary this year - AGAIN. we started forgetting our dating anniversary since we got married and started remembering the wedding anniversary instead. So we're going out for a belated anniversary meal for lunch Grin 36w today and my stomach must be so squished up now that I can't manage full big meals anymore. I can probably just fit peanuts by the time I get to 40w!

Feefeefs · 25/09/2016 10:42

That advent calendar sounds lovely potato! My mum had a cotton one for us growing up which I doubt was expensive but it was all the thought she used to put in with the chocolates and presents and notes that made it memorable.

Cake sleep and alcohol sounds nice!!!

Congratulations and welcome Art.

I had UTI symptoms at almost exactly the same point Marmite! Bizarrely I had had an early scan like you and was a week before my 12 week scan when I went to the GP! They were equally terrifying but no stupid trying to hear with a stethoscope! I also got antibiotics and the sample came back clear a week later too. I bet it's just some sort of weird body changing that happens around that point! Try and ignore the arsehat! And look forward to he scan.

More fun family times for me, sister lives in New York and our relationships is difficult at the best of times. I have had all of three messages throughout this preganancy and 5 minutes into a conversation today I got a guilt trip for not asking about her life? She hadn't asked about mine and I had literally said one thing about being tired?Hmm the whole rest of the conversation was about my dad's birthday. AngryAngryAngry

BunchOfBobs · 25/09/2016 12:02

Welcome and congrats Art. I completely second what Potato** said, all stages of pregnancy and motherhood represented here so make yourself comfy Smile

Potato that sounds so gorgeous. I'm making Atticus' Christmas sack this week, we bought a load of hessian sacks for sack racing at our wedding but never used them. I've bought iron on letters and fabric to match to line the inside, hopefully it turns out nice. I hadn't even thought of an advent calander. MIL made a quilted one for SILs boys so I may see if I can wangle one out of her Grinsleep cake and alcohol all sounds very welcome to me Wink Hope you had a nice time with your friends.

Pink, Miley, my let down feels like a load of pressure in my boobs, if I look at my nips when I feel it they're leaking. So next time you feel it have a gander to see if it is.

Feefs sorry you have a tough relationship with your sister.

BunchOfBobs · 25/09/2016 12:02

Bloody bold fail!!

BunchOfBobs · 25/09/2016 12:03

Bloody bold fail!!

Co5mo · 25/09/2016 13:00

Welcome Art. Another knitter I presume from your username?

This type of advent calender is a lovely tradition. My Aunt made us calenders when we were younger and at 36 years young I will still get it filled for me. In fact my Aunt was asking whether she could still put alcohol miniatures in it for me this year only the other day. Would love to see a picture of it when you've finished Potato.

Right must get on. Baby cardigan to finish before my sisters show up lookin for Sunday dinner.

Canters15 · 25/09/2016 13:15

Oh my GOD I feel so tired today. Have been feeling quite sick on and off over the last few days, took an antiemetic last night and still feel so groggy from it, it's weird! I feel really under the weather but can't pinpoint what's up, have sent dh and MIL out for the afternoon so I can have some peace and quiet.

Also I had a stupid argument with dh (over fucking ankle tie ballet flats of all things) and feel super sorry for myself!

How's everyone else's weekends going? We did manage a nice lunch out yesterday so at least I have done something productive this weekend.

Congrats on your pregnancy art! Hope you're feeling ok so far?

Did gp say he was trying to listen for baby marmite? Because that sounds very odd, but if not he may well have been listening for bowel sounds which would be relevant if you had said you had tummy pain. Hope you're feeling better now anyway!

AudreyBradshaw · 25/09/2016 13:17

All these Christmas things sound absolutely gorgeous potato I'd also love to see a pic of Arya's advent calendar when it's finished, it sounds absolutely beautiful! And bunch I'm so Into Christmas sacks! I still can't believe that by Christmas I will have a baby! I've genuinely been excited for Christmas since June!

feef sorry your sister is being difficult, that sounds so hard, especially when there's a lot of distance physically. Flowers

miley enjoy your duvet day with Harrison and oh, you deserve it! Hoping it's going to be an easy birth and easy baby too (hollow laugh, I don't think I'll be that lucky Grin )

Welcome art I don't post on the ttc board anymore so much as I feel really insensitive doing it! Congratulations! 🍰🍦👑🎊🎉🎁🎂

Got butter chicken/tikka/korma in the slow cooker (everybody calls it something different! ) might meander up to the farm, dsis is learning to ride side saddle, which she's wonderful at, except when the horse spooks over a jump, she gets thrown and lands in her face! Muppet that she is! (She looks like Lady Mary from downton abbey doing it though! It's all tally Ho and tootle pip!)

ArtOfKnit · 25/09/2016 17:53

Thanks all for the warm welcome! I am indeed a knitter co5mo. Touch wood, I've been feeling pretty good so far - but my nipples are permanently erect and I've been having cramps which come and go.

I was so tempted to buy a beautiful wooden advent calendar last year, but it was just too expensive to justify at the time. I do like the thought of having one as part of a family tradition. Can't believe the chat is already about Christmas Grin

IndiX · 25/09/2016 17:54

Hi ladies,
Hope you're all doing well.

Welcome art! Congratulations on your pregnancy hope you are feeling ok so far.

Miley hope you've had a nice duvet day with Harrison.

Feefs sorry your sister is being a pain in the arse, I'm an only child but my mum has always found her sisters difficult too. Hope you're ok.

Canters hope you're feeling a bit better now and had a nice chilled day?

Potato/bunch the advent calendar sounds lovely and so does the Xmas stocking. It's all so lovely that the magic comes back to Xmas when you have a child.

It's so exciting thinking about Christmas with a baby. We've already booked Beanie in to do a 'breakfast with Father Christmas' and DH's colleagues and their wives have organised a kids Xmas party too. I know she won't remember but we will and I'll have cute photos and memories to cherish.

Audrey enjoy your curry. Your sister sounds impressive riding side saddle, I miss horse riding. Haven't done it for years!

I've been getting period pains on and off for a few hours. Lower belly and back and in to my thighs. Sure it's nothing worth thinking about and I'm now unsure whether I'm convincing myself it's labour because I want something to happen. Even though I don't really want something to happen as I'm a control freak and like the idea that my ELCS is booked on a certain day. Maybe I'm just bored/tired/delusional.

Co5mo · 25/09/2016 19:39

Have you had any other signs Indi? It's exciting that we're getting so close to meeting our little ones. I'm questioning myself at every twinge now even though baby wasn't engaged at last check and I've had no indications he might be on the way.

IndiX · 25/09/2016 20:04

No Cosmo and period pains have stopped. I think I'm just getting paranoid as the date gets closer.
I haven't noticed Beanie's movements much either today, I have been busy though, she has moved but not as crazy as usual. I'm going to keep an eye on it, as I say I think I'm just paranoid.

Feefeefs · 25/09/2016 20:47

Sorry you've had a rough day canters, hope you're feeling better now you've had some alone time.

Curry sounds yum Audrey.

Thanks everyone about the sister sympathy! She is a master of the guilt trip and manipulation. I managed to shut it down reasonably quickly for once but I find it really hard not to get sucked in. The line today was that she couldn't believe I didn't ask about her life sooner as she spends so much time thinking about me Hmm just not putting those thoughts into words obviously.

Keep us updated indi!!

Indi, what would happen if you did go into labour? Would they just bring your ELCS forward and do it straight away? Or would you have to have a vaginal birth?

Fingers crossed beanie stays cooking for a bit longer!

LisaTheSimpson · 25/09/2016 21:22

Also, welcome Art! Hope your pregnancy is going well so far x

Canters15 · 25/09/2016 21:25

Oh feefs, in my woe is me tirade I missed that your sister was being a nightmare! I'm sorry, it sounds really difficult and not what you need at the moment.

A rat, lisa?! Yuk! Keep an eye on the wound, animal bites can be nasty.

indi I get a lot of low down period pain too, I assumed it was stretching but planning to ask midwife on Tuesday. I know what you mean about feeling fed up and almost wanting something to happen so it's done with, saying that if something did happen I know I'd have a total melt down at the idea of being in labour!

I'm feeling a bit better thanks ladies. Just had a bit of a hormonal sob to my mum on the phone which helped. I think I'm just a bit run down and need MIL to do one so I can have my house back

LillianFullStop · 25/09/2016 21:32

You've all made me excited about our first Christmas with baby! I've been looking around for her Christmas outfit and I want to take her to Winter Wonderland in Hyde Park - I haven't been or enjoyed it in years but I think it will different with a new baby.

feef your DSis sounds like a pro on the emotional guilt/blackmail but at least it sounds like you know her well and know how to take it.

sorry you've had a rough day canters - hope you got your peace and quiet.

curry dinner sounds awesome stardrey!

Indix I'm 36w and lately I've been hyper aware (or hyperparanoid) of labour signs and baby movements too. especially since I'm starting my raspberry leaf tea from today and I'm expecting it to work immediately like magic. Might try reflexology next week when I hit 37w.
