Behold, the wonder of birth! Members from 6 weeks bfp to post-partum wonder Mamas! No question to grotty or minging.

We've come full circle from obsessing about cervical mucus to now obsessing if it's our vagina baby plug going! What larks!

Lots of talk about poo, ours and now babies too! Baby brain is REAL! This heat can kiss my arse. And who KNEW being so neurotic about which changing mat to buy could be so satisfying and addictive!

Sooo many gorgeous babies now! And equally lovely Mummy's! We are amazing! What a year! Can you believe it's been a year since our first tentative TTC thread!? Look how far we've come!

Roll up, literally, in my case, cause I'm practically rotund! for TTC #1 Grads!

Potato so sorry I forgot to say Happy Birthday. Adorable OH got you something from Arya .

Miley he asked "so have you started having sex again yet", I full on laughed at him "erm no".
Did you get the key off them yet? Whoop to being discharged from midwife and what a shitter but at least you now know boobs work fine.

Nev glad you're home woohoo.

Danni89 · 23/09/2016 14:44

Happy Birthday potato! Hope you enjoy the rest of your day!

Lovely photos bunch

Glad you and Bodhi are home now nev,

They do love to scare us these midwives, but glad all has been signed off now miley

Hope all the preggos are doing well

I am now combi feeding and finding Mason is sleeping a lot better, my nipples can now have a little break too. He is becoming a right Lil chunk, can't believe he is a month next week! Time is going too quickly!
Booked ourselves on the NCT early days course and baby massage on another day, but both don't start for a few weeks- looking forward to those. Smile before I know it, it'll be Xmas! Yay!

Co5mo · 23/09/2016 16:15

Happy birthday Potato 🍰💐

Very pleased to hear you're home Nev

I've been channelling my overbearing MIL into jobs in the garden that keep her out of my way. That's only going to work for a short while longer. The our baby thing hasn't been too much of a problem, except once when my Mum refered to him as 'my baby'. Fortunately my sister immediately intervened and told her he wasn't her baby and I haven't heard it again.

BunchOfBobs · 23/09/2016 17:54

I thought my DM was going to be really overbearing but she's been amazing, we both thought we would fall out loads and infect we've gotten closer. MIL on the other hand is doing her best not to be interfering so instead comes across as doesn't care Hmm

Little man just had a lovely bath, tried to catch him when awake in a good mood. He only cried when we washed his hair and then when I wrapped him in his towel and gave him a cuddle he obviously decided that was the time for a wee GrinI can't believe how long he's gotten in the last 5 weeks.

Baby massage is lovely Danni but you have to catch baby in the right mood. Atticus is never in that mood during class so we just have to practice at home instead.

Mileymoocow · 23/09/2016 18:27

bunch I can't believe how much Atticus has grown! What app do you use for your photos? I'm putting together a memory box for Harrison and need to start putting some pictures together

danni I really want to take little man to the baby massage etc so please let me know what it's like Smile

OH is back to work next Friday and am crapping myself for going out and about alone! How are breast feeding mums finding it? I'm finding it easier to not leave the house until Harrison has had a good feed and a change because I'm not confident to feed in public. It has me a little on edge when we do go out in case he wants fed and I'm always conscious we're not out for longer than a couple of hours! Does it get easier the more confident I get?

Danni89 · 23/09/2016 18:36

I know want you mean miley it can be daunting getting out and about on your own, I haven't been out long enough to need feed Mason yet either- but I think I'd go to a cafe or somewhere quiet.
I'll let you know how baby massage goes in a few weeks.

bunch.. I have a long baby too, he's going to be tall. Will you get the next size up sleepyhead or not bother?

BunchOfBobs · 23/09/2016 19:22

Miley honestly once you do it once it's easy. Nobody has batted an eyelid at me other than smiling. It helps to have a Muslim to hand if you need to cover up some boob. I stupidly went out for the first time in a button up dress so to feed would have had to whap out the full boob. Thankfully muslin to the rescue. One up one down really helps though and nursing specific clothes.
We use snapseed for photos.

Danni not sure yet, I think we'll try him without then if he needs it we'll get it.

AudreyBradshaw · 23/09/2016 20:47

Happy birthday potato Hope you've had a lovely day! 😆🎁👑🎉🎊🎂💐🍰🍦🍸

He's gorgeous bunch can't believe how much he's grown!

miley I'm sure it must just take practice to get your confidence up with public breast feeding. And muslins! My Dm bought me like a really light circular shrug type thing to drape over which won't blow away, will see if I can find a pic of something similar.

Excellent news that you're home nev Hurrah!

Dh won't be entitled to any paternity leave at all, not sure how we'll do it/work it out, maybe just hope I go into labour on his day off? Or at night? My dm will help, but sort of got fingers crossed that i dont end up needing a c-section or whatnot. He's not got his start date yet because we have to wait for the CRB check to come back ok first. He's been doing the garden, cleaning EVERYTHING! Pretty sure he's nesting! Grin

Happy birthday potato!

Great news that you're home nev

Miley / danni* I had the same thing - have only been out with Alexa when I know she's been changed, fed and was pretty confident she wouldn't wake up. Today the girls from NCT were meeting up so I braved it - took her on public transport to a coffee shop and needed to feed her. I've got one of these which really helped with the confidence https://www.amazon.co.uk/BebeChic-Quality-Cotton-Breastfeeding-Nursing/dp/B008IGC376 and made sure I was dressed in accessible stuff! It all went well and im feeling quite pleased with myself today Smile

Hope everyone has something nice planned this weekend. We've got various people over visiting Alexa and hoping to have a nice Sunday lunch out just the 3 of us.

LisaTheSimpson · 23/09/2016 22:18

Hi everyone!

Sorry (again, feel like I'm always saying sorry) for the radio silence. Had a busy week of tons of hospital appts and blood tests, combined with builders in the house.

Hope everyone is doing well and enjoying cuddles or coping ok with preggo stuff.

Potato - happy birthday! Just getting in on time - hope you've had a great day!

Lillian - thank you asking about me, you're so sweet. Nothing happening baby-wise, I'm afraid. Still pregnant :)

Bunch - so glad poo-gate sorted itself out, and I love the bath picture with the bubbles.

Indi - how are you feeling about it being less than two weeks?? Do you feel ready? (I DON'T!!!!)

Congrats Dr! Lovely to hear your story and hope it's all going well.

The short story from all my tests was that I might not have OC afterall, as my liver enzyme level is high but has halved (from 130s to 70-something), and bile acids dropped from 20-something to single figures. And the fact that I never had any itching.

Anyway, it's obviously still a possibility, and combined with my blood disorder (which makes me high risk anyway), and the fact that this baby is looking big (scan this week estimated 8lb 12 (!)), I'm booked for induction on my due date, which is Mon 3.

Fingers crossed I go naturally before then, but either way baby will be here in ten days or so. Don't feel ready!

IndiX · 24/09/2016 07:03

Morning,
Woken up too early but at least I had no pregsomnia last night..2nd night in a rowGrin

Potato happy birthday for yesterday!! Hope you had a lovely dayCakeFlowersStar

Pink yes pretty much all organised now, just a couple of last minute things to buy when she arrives (sleepyhead etc). I'm so excited now.

Bunch how gorgeous is Atticus?!!

So glad you're home now nev! Hope little Bodhi is doing well.

Miley great news Harrison has gained weight, sorry you were upset the other day when the stupid bloody scales were broken! I'm sure you're doing an amazing job. Hope you got to enjoy some chocolate and cake to make up for the upset and to celebrate your little milk monster Grin

Lisa glad you're doing well and that it may not actually be OC. That's so funny you said 'still pregnant', I say this all the time to people I see when they ask how I amGrin I'm so excited for her to arrive now, in a way I want the next 13 days to hurry up but then again I want to really enjoy this time with DH, since it's never going to be just the 2 of us again. I'm ready in the sense I have everything organised for me and her but I just need to do a big deep clean of the house.
That's great news you've only got 10 days or so until meeting baby! Hopefully you'll go naturally before then thoughSmile

Hope everyone is doing well.
I went to see the new Bridget Jones film last night, it was funny and heart warming. I had to stop myself sobbing when she actually had the baby Blush i still think the first film was the best though.
Hope you all have a lovely day.

LisaTheSimpson · 24/09/2016 08:03

Indi, definitely agree on the DH time. We're trying to spend as much time together as possible (though he refuses to see Bridget Jones with me - not his thing at all). We missed out on seeing Star Trek at the cinema, so I need to find something out we can see.

Anyone have any recommendations for good films on at the moment?

PotatosMum · 24/09/2016 08:16

Miley sorry you had a rubbish time of it yesterday. I'm glad it turned out to be a mistake but it's awful that happened! They should make sure their equipment is working properly seeing as there is so little margin for error!
Yay! For being signed off by the midwife Smile

Pink sorry you're still struggling with feeding.

Bunch aww lovely photos of Atticus.

Audrey even if your DH isn't allowed paternity in pretty sure it's a legal requirement to allow him to go to maternity appointments and I imagine being at the birth comes under that. Can he not take some holiday after baby is born?

Lisa you will be fine. The good thing about babies being so needy is the once they're here you don't have much time or energy for doubting yourself!

Thanks for all the birthday wishes Smile had a nice quiet birthday yesterday and I'm having a couple of friends round for tea and cake (they're all actually coming to see Arya but they're pretending they're coming to see me Confused) need to spend this morning cleaning as the house is a tip. We still have boxes everywhere and a million DIY things to do Sad we also still haven't decorated Arya's room which I really, really want to do now.
Hey ho, can't do everything but maybe we'll be able to hit the nursery next weekend when we don't have DSD.

Speaking of which DSD was doing the annoying, all over Arya while her dad was holding her bet completely uninterested in her once she's back with me. She was also climbing onto her dads lap the moment he handed Arya back saying that she's a baby Confused I hope she gets over this phase.

I officially started my Christmas shopping yesterday. I bought Arya the night before Christmas. I want to start a tradition where she gets a book, some PJs and a special bauble on Christmas Eve every year.

We DTD last night for the first time. It was a bit tender at first but otherwise fine.

Mileymoocow · 24/09/2016 08:37

Omg potato what the hell! Are you superwoman?! I don't feel like I'll ever be able to DTD ever again. I'm not in pain but I am still bleeding a little and am terrified of the peen now!

Thank you for the reassurance centre bunch, soda and audrey! I really should get a cover up, it will help me feel more comfortable.

OH had practically a full nights sleep last night apart from waking up a few times when I got up to feed. He's still in bed and the dog is crying because he wants to go for a walk and I think I might smother him in his sleep Hmm fed at 10.30, 1, 2.45, 4 and 6.45. With episodes of bright eyed and bushy tailed baby inbetween who didn't think it appropriate to actually sleep at night time.

Pinklily1 · 24/09/2016 10:35

Good news on the OC Lisa. It's so exciting that you and Indi will get to meet your babies soon.

I tired to drag OH to see Bridget Jones but he was having none of it.

Potato, that behaviour from DSD would really annoy me. I know she's still a child but she's not a baby! I'm impressed you DTD - how old is Arya now? My OH is super patient and knows we won't be DTD anytime soon, but he definitely wants to! Smile I'm a bit nervous about possible pain and whether it will feel different.

miley, I feel your OH pain! I was awake from 4am-7am with Evelyn (she had awful wind). OH woke up at 5.15am and I mentioned I was about to give her a bottle, he said ok and then rolled over and went back to sleep. If I'd had a free hand and easy access to a pillow he may have been a goner Hmm He slightly made up for it by taking Evelyn at 7am so I could get some sleep for a few hours.

We are really struggling with clothes for Evelyn, she's very long so a lot of the baby grows are big on her tummy and arms but then too short on her legs! I've discovered The Little White Company baby grows are perfect as they are long in the body, but they are expensive when babies grow so quickly.

Feefeefs · 24/09/2016 10:39

2 weeks indi!! Eeek

I think I will try and get him to say something pink i invited her along to come along and look at prams with us and it turned into an all family event her, his dad and his sister, they are both acting totally normal about things so it was probably a good buffer.

She offered to buy the pram and we did that and obviously I have thanked her etc! But the other stuff is too much, I think I'm just going to continue to buy what I want and ignore her.

Glad your sister was a help co5mo!

Glad you're deleting posts too Audrey it must be the lack of sleep!!

That's miserable miley what an awful day!!! I'm glad it turned out to be nothing but sorry you had to go through that.

Very inappropriate bunch but I roared laughing at "it helps to have a Muslim to hand if you need to cover up some boob"

Happy birthday for yesterday potato! Hope dsd gets over this phase quickly!

IndiX · 24/09/2016 11:09

How tall are you and OH pink? I think Beanie will be very long too as DH is just under 6'5 and I'm 5'9. I didn't really think about the clothes situation while they are babies, thought the height may just get more awkward later onConfused sorry Evelyn had wind and I would have definitely felt the same towards my DH if he'd just turned overAngry glad you got more sleep though.

So after my post this morning I had terrible itching down there. I literally started crying also meant that I had to skip my spin class today, again I know I'm a bit crazy. I've googled everything about itching and discharge etc, I really need to phone the Dr's on Monday as even though I don't think it's thrush, I need to be checked out. I've read a lot of women have itching late on in pregnancy due to an increase of discharge and the pH levels can be unbalanced.
Does anyone have any itchy moo tips to sort me out for the weekend? It's not as bad now as this morning but it's tender as I did have an angry scratch earlierBlush ive heard baking soda in a bath? I don't know whether to get any creams or just wait til I see a doctor.

Sorry for long post, just feel desperate for relief!

IndiX · 24/09/2016 11:09

Oh and as a bonus the haemorrhoid is back......today is not going well.

marmitecheesetoast · 24/09/2016 11:12

Hi guys, sorry for a selfish post I'm afraid as haven't had a chance to catch up yet (but happy birthday for yesterday potato!) but I'm wondering whether I might have a uti? I've had weird twingey pains really low down in my froo the last day and a half and when I need to pee. Sometimes it feels like I'm so desperate to pee it's going to be a massive wee but then it's not that much. I'm just not sure whether this could be normal preggo symptoms as when I've had Utis in pre-preggo days I've reeeeaaaallly known about it with that agonising burning stinging pain when you pee which I've not had with this. Wondered if any of you more experienced preggos could shed any light?

Really glad you're both home Nev

IndiX · 24/09/2016 11:15

Marmite I had the same quite early on and didn't have a UTI. I felt like I was desperate for a wee all the time but not much came out and Id had UTI's before and they were much more painful. I'd still get checked at the doctors and do a wee sample just incase but for me it was just an awkward early pregnancy symptom. And drink loads of water!

marmitecheesetoast · 24/09/2016 11:18

Thanks Indi just umming and ahhing about whether to brave the out of hours drop in centre... At the hospital in the city centre by two universities ....in freshers week Hmm can't face sitting in waiting room for hours! I should probably be sensible and get it checked though I guess

BunchOfBobs · 24/09/2016 11:30

Omg feefs I cannot stop laughing. Of course any other faith will also do for boob covering Grin.

Potato hope dsd gets over her neediness soon. Is OH pandering to her or trying to help minimise the behaviour?

Indi no tips other than only wash with water and try not to wear anything tight fitting. Good call on avoiding spin. Hope it feels better soon, definitely get seen.

Pinklily1 · 24/09/2016 11:41

indi, I'm 5"8 and OH is 6"2. Evelyn has long legs and big feet, so we are going shopping today on the hunt for footless baby grows!

No real tips for the itching but I did have a bit of itchiness towards the end. It disappeared when Evelyn was born though.

marmite~towards the end of pregnancy I constantly felt like I needed a massive wee but when I went there was only a trickle. I think that's quite common due to pressure in the bladder. I didn't have any pain though.

AudreyBradshaw · 24/09/2016 11:48

He'll have only been contracted at most 2 months or so potato so he won't even qualify for any holiday leave. Hopefully they'll be kind and let him have a day or so. He will be so worried about not working he wouldn't be able to cope not taking any anyway I imagine. Just found out my DM is booked onto courses bang over my due date week too, so she might not be able to be nearby! Lol. I'm sure we will work it out! Single mothers do it with other kids to look after, just got to hope for an intervention free birth lol. Thinking zen thoughts! And well done on DTD! Amazing work! Lol.

I imagine dsd is insanely jealous and struggling with the changes. She's gone from being the youngest and only girl to being middle child and one of two girls and she's not the cutest anymore. She's probably feeling a bit worried that you both don't need/want her anymore and needs a bit of extra reassurance. Hence the "I'm a baby too daddy, me me me" thing." She'll settle with it eventually. Flowers

Marmite I had the weird wee thing too, wasn't painful as such just uncomfortable and constantly needing a wee. Pharmacist wouldn't give me any thrush cream or even anything for cystitis. Couldn't get a doc appt so just tanked she'd loads of water!

indi your hormones are probably all over the shop, and oh levels do start playing up. Can you ring your midwife? Or OOH doctor for an appt? Itching in the foof all the way till Monday doesn't sound pleasant! Flowers

OP posts:
IndiX · 24/09/2016 13:19

Thanks pink/bunch/Audrey. I'm currently having a soak in a baking soda bath. Sounds so random but the water is surprisingly silky and apparently is a natural remedy for sore foofs and hemorrhoids, 2 birds one stone and all that! I'm hoping this relieves me a bit until I see a doctor on Monday. I don't think my midwife is around on a weekend except for emergencies, I'll cope until Monday I'm sure I'm hoping.

I've also just snapped a false nail. What a fucking dayEnvy

Audrey that sound a bit stressful with your mum and DH not on hand around your due date. My control freak-mess would be out of control. But you're so right, single mums manage and I'm sure DH's boss will give him a bit of time off if he doesn't he's a massive dick head. My DH doesn't get paternity either, he doesn't work long hours so it's fine and I'll have my mum around but I'm in a similar kind of boat. You're doing very well to keep zen likeSmile
