Behold, the wonder of birth! Members from 6 weeks bfp to post-partum wonder Mamas! No question to grotty or minging.

We've come full circle from obsessing about cervical mucus to now obsessing if it's our vagina baby plug going! What larks!

Lots of talk about poo, ours and now babies too! Baby brain is REAL! This heat can kiss my arse. And who KNEW being so neurotic about which changing mat to buy could be so satisfying and addictive!

Sooo many gorgeous babies now! And equally lovely Mummy's! We are amazing! What a year! Can you believe it's been a year since our first tentative TTC thread!? Look how far we've come!

Roll up, literally, in my case, cause I'm practically rotund! for TTC #1 Grads!

Nev so pleased for you both,
Wowza, clearly has had a Horowitz spurt with all that guzzling.

Yay irregular well done Tamsin.

Love love that outfit Miley.
*
Leonie* Theo is so diddy and gorgeous.

Potato Arya is the spit of her Daddy isn't she? Glad she's a bit better but ouch to the red bum. Good on the hodgepig bum, and excellent purchase there!

Well I've had a grand total of 3 hours sleep since 10pm last night. After a huge blazing row with DH at 5am this morning which culminated in me yelling at him to F off Blush he's back from work an hour early baring flowers, smoothies, pizza and a day off tomorrow with a plan of action for the night ahead. He's just out walking the dog, when he gets home he's changing Atticus' bum and after he's fed I'm being escorted to bed for an hour. I could cry I'm so relieved. Also means he can come with me to my 6 week check and hold Atticus whilst my froo is examined Grin

BunchOfBobs · 22/09/2016 17:33

Also the newborn photography prints have arrived and I've popped them on their frames. I cannot wait to add them to the photo wall Grin

Canters15 · 22/09/2016 18:12

Beautiful pictures bunch!

nev so glad Bodhi is being discharged. (My autocorrect just changed his name to Bosnia, glad I spotted that haha).

So many gorgeous baby pictures, it really is making me feel a lot better about bump arriving. Sorry for radio silence, my MIL is staying so it's all been a bit intense and busy! She's lovely, but a bit overbearing at times, I feel awful but will be quite relieved when she goes next week! In other news, I only have 9 shifts left at work!

IrregularCommentary · 22/09/2016 18:55

Argh!!!! Who knew the momma bear rage could be woken so easily. MIL and her incessant, "I think she's got my eyes. She's definitely got my eyes." Repeat about 100 times.

Erm... fuck off?!

Can't believe quite how ragey I feel, but I really really do.

Janubub · 22/09/2016 19:25

Irregular - "she's got at most one quarter of your eyes"

IrregularCommentary · 22/09/2016 19:41

Yes, exactly this Jan! They weren't even bloody open... Angry

MIL may not be my favourite ever person

BunchOfBobs · 22/09/2016 19:52

Jeez what's a Horowitz spurt when it's at home. Totally meant growth spurt.

LillianFullStop · 22/09/2016 20:40

Oh my these baby pics are making me all gooooooooooo! They are so gorgeous I can't wait for my LO to come!

bunch and pink thanks for the advice on paracetamol and codeine - I'm hoping paracetamol would be enough.

nev good news on being able to go home!

irregular totally understandable! Why does MIL have to make it all about her!?

miley love Harrison's knit romper - where is that from?

So went to Holland and Barrett to pick up some raspberry leaf tea, aloe vera gel and arnica. Going to start the RLT this weekend at 36w - aaahhhhh!!!!

Nevlet · 22/09/2016 22:55

Irregular i totally know what you mean! It drove me mad the whole pregnancy that MIL nicknamed the baby around OHs surname... If i had registered him alone he would be Nevlet Nevlet Nevlet just prove a point. And now if she is near him and he moves a muscle we have the oh he has wind. No he has just opened an eye/taken a breath. It does worry me because once someone starts to irritate me even if I know it's irrational it can snowball... I have a college friend who this happened with about 6 years ago who still itritates me for no reason!

PotatosMum · 22/09/2016 23:15

Bunch result with OH, he obviously needed to be made aware that you require more assistance in a louder voice.

Those photos are lovely Smile

Irregular I would feel exactly the same when faced with that.

you ladies make me so glad we have a small family. In not the most tolerant of people and I'm sure I'd lose it if I were you.

Just had the worse poo explosion yet. Arya had poop on her tummy!!! At least it was normal healthy poop Smile

Nevlet · 22/09/2016 23:26

Potato glad aryas tummys better. All the antibiotics have caused the runs here... Cannot wait to get home and normal!!!!

Feefeefs · 23/09/2016 08:08

Sorry I've been a bit quiet! Haven't been sleeping and hence not functioning well! Have come into this three times this week and written a long post and then managed to delete it. Very annoying!!

Love all the baby pictures!

Irregular I'm totally feeling your pain. MIL is ridiculously excited but to an intimidating degree, baby is regularly referred to as "our baby" which really winds me up he's me and DHs baby!! She keeps buying stuff (I'm all for deals but it's always the absolute cheapest of the cheap) and saying "you won't need to buy anything!" Hello I want to buy stuff!!! Also I mentioned a nickname for baby (as will be called after DH and his father) and she did a whole body cringe. We went pram shopping at weekend and I was frequently barged out of the way. It's totally surprised me as although she's normally excitable would never have expected this! Thankfully DH is on my side and keeps just saying "I told you she was mad" and has agreed to say something the next time "our baby" comes up

Feefeefs · 23/09/2016 08:10

Ha ha just realised in that post I referred to baby as a boy three times!! I don't know the sex but I think it's a boy! I have a girls name too

IndiX · 23/09/2016 08:25

Morning ladies,
Hope those precious little babies slept well and hope the preggo's got a good night's sleep!

Irregular/feefs/nev that would seriously piss me off. My DH's mum buggered off on him when he was a kid so I've never met her (there's no contact at all), it sounds terrible but I'm bloody glad. I couldn't stand an interfering MIL. I don't even know what advice to give but as long as your OH's are on your side they could always have a quiet word?
I'm actually concerned because FIL is coming to visit a week after Beanie is born, he smokes A LOT and I mentioned to DH yesterday that I don't want him to touch her unless he has clean hands and clean clothes on. I will go MAD if my newborn precious baby smells of ciggies! DH said of course and he'd mention it but it's already stressing me out the thought of it.

Loving all the baby photos from yesterday, beautiful little cherubs!

Potato glad arya's tummy seems to have settled.

Bunch sounds like DH is well trainedWink hope you had a lovely evening. Also those newborn photos are stunning.

Had bloody fanny daggers in bed last night and the worst acid reflux to the point I was actually sick in my mouth and had to swallow it back downSad feeling ok this morning though, DH has a day off so I'm going to go to the gym, walk the dogs and then think we'll be going for dinner and to see the Bridget Jones film later on.

2 weeks today I'll be having my baby girl GrinGrinGrin

LillianFullStop · 23/09/2016 08:55

Potato lol at poo explosion!

Hi feef! MIL sounds a nightmare Confused get DH on the case early even before LO comes - you'll be more sensitive/vulnerable/protective after giving birth and if this carries on you might just lose it! Our families are all abroad and no in laws coming to visit until our LO is at least 3 months. Part of me is unhappy that I won't have help in the early days like some people will but another (bigger) part is glad it will just be DH and I the first few months to establish and bond with our little family without anyone else around.

Indi wow 2 weeks!!!! how exciting for you! the fanny daggers have got me too. I was in the office for just one day this week (yesterday) and just popping out to get my lunch was an adventure as the fanny daggers decided they would attack me at that exact moment. I've been doing lovely little voms in my mouth too - I've been calling them regurgiburps. Confused must remember to keep a packet of gums or mints on me as it feels so yuck!!!

I hope lisa is doing ok.

Pinklily1 · 23/09/2016 09:45

Morning ladies

bunch, glad your OH has stepped up a bit.

indi, so exciting that baby will be with you in two weeks! Are you all sorted now?

feefs, your MIL sounds like a nightmare. "Our baby" would infuriate me. Your DH definitely needs to say something. Gifts are lovely but I think choosing and buying things yourself is part of the excitement.

AudreyBradshaw · 23/09/2016 10:06

I feel lucky. All my im-laws live a 4 hour car journey away and it wouldn't occur to a single one of them to get off their see and visit, they didn't when we lived 15 minutes up the road! And Mil isn't well, and BIL is a lunatic, him and dh aren't on speaking terms at the minute. It's bloody awful. I do call the baby "our baby" and so does most of my side of the family though.

I'm exhausted already. 4 dogs, my sister and the budgie. Plus next doors alarm going off all night. I've got the shakes I'm so knackered!

Had written a huge long post with individual to everyone, postman knocked, chaos ensued, I jumped and pressed a button and lost the lot!

OP posts:
BunchOfBobs · 23/09/2016 11:29

Morning all.
Woohoo 5 hours sleep last night! What a difference. Turns out little man has been cold as we put a heavier tog grobag on last night. Now I feel I've deserved the shit sleep.

I've just had my 6 week postnatal check. Seems quite pointless really. Was asked how I am and how baby is. Blood pressure was taken, contraception and intercourse discussed. Asked if I had any questions and prescribed more iron as I still look anaemic and apparently need to be in iron for 3 months after hb levels have normalised (last check I was still anaemic).
I suggest you go in prepped with any questions and write them down so you don't forget. I forgot half of what I wanted to ask. Oops.

For those after hooded towels for LOs the Aldi event has them for £2.99.

Nevlet · 23/09/2016 12:24

We are home!

Been back all morning. Away from the hospital and checks I am now worried sick that he has been asleep too long and has been too long since his last feed and therefore he must be ill again. I never thought I would be such a worrier about him.

PotatosMum · 23/09/2016 12:47

Nev sorry you're having problems with LOs tummy too but fantastic that your home. Arya regularly goes 4 or 5 hours between a feed if she's having a good sleep so I wouldn't worry too much.

Feef that sounds like a nightmare! I get irritated enough with DSD and her mum buying MY baby stuff, I don't think I'd be able to handle someone that OTT.

Audrey take it easy, if your sister is visiting get her to run around after you while you have a nap!

So, birthday today, OH got a photo card and mug from Arya for me didn't make me cry at all Confused he's also ordered wingback chair from IKEA that I liked for the living room and were wondering around the shopping centre after having a costa for lunch Smile

Mileymoocow · 23/09/2016 12:52

lillian it's from next, they have some amazing stuff in Grin

bunch those photos are absolutely gorgeous.

Had an absolutely horrendous 24 hours it turns out for absolutely no reason at all. I literally cried from 3pm til just now because Harrison had his 10 day check yesterday and weighed 5lb 11oz which has dropped twice from 6lb 6 at birth then to 6lb 1 at 5 day check. Was told to express and top up after feeds and I felt like a total failure and I was starving my baby. Health visitor called midwife to pop in today after 24 hours of top up to be released weighed and if he hadn't put on we were going to have to go back into hospital. Well, it turns out health visitors scales were faulty because he's been reweighed and he's actually bloody 6lb 9oz! I'm so relieved but also so pissed off that I water a whole day yesterday feeling like utter shit dreading having to take him back in for blood tests etc.

Anyway, sorry for the me me me! I'm going to try to satisfy Harrisons cluster feeding then treat myself to chocolate and cake because actually I'm not failing.

Mileymoocow · 23/09/2016 12:57

Happy birthday potato FlowersGrin

nev so happy you're home! You must be so bloody relieved. Hopefully you can settle for good now.

bunch contraception? Is mangled fan and lack of sleep not enough contraception?

feef my grandma did the whole 'our baby' thing and it seriously wound me up to the point I actually said 'I didn't realise you were there when he was made'. Try to nip it in the bud, my grandma also does the buying thing which winds me up too. I appreciate the generosity but it's far too much.

Pinklily1 · 23/09/2016 13:13

Happy birthday Potato! Cake The mug is a cute present!

miley, so pleased Harrison is gaining weight, but it's so frustrating that you had that unnecessary worry. I forgot about your grandma! I remember you mentioning her before. Has she been letting herself into your house like you feared she might?

I'm still battling a bit with feeding. The health visitor is coming again on Monday so I'm going to ask her about it then.

Nev, so pleased that you are home. If you are worried at all, take him back to hospital, I'm sure they will be happy to check him over again.

Nevlet · 23/09/2016 13:16

Happy birthday potato WineCake!

Miley so relieved to be at home. We are just stuck to sofa watching crappy tv its bloody lovely! OH has gone in to work for afternoon and dog is still at MILs so its just me and the Bodhster Grin

I already went and saw the Dr to get back on the pill... I have really struggled with the change in dynamic in our relationship as I got more and more pregnant and the loss of intimacy has been a big part of that. I can't remember the last time we DTD but I know we haven't since we got engaged and that was June! Once stitches stop feeling tender I will definitely be giving it a go!

Mileymoocow · 23/09/2016 13:19

pink she hasn't been able to. My grandad was due an operation the day after Harrison was born so she can't get here as he's still unable to drive. She keeps texting OH to pick them up for visits on a daily basis but we've told her twice a week is enough because we have so many people calling by. I fear it'll get bad when my grandad can drive again! Yes, I'm a bit annoyed but mainly relieved that my boobs are working and I haven't been starving my child Grin it's such a head mess this breast feeding. Hopefully the health visitor will be able to help you, these little ones really do love to chllenge us.

We've officially been signed off by the midwife, woop!
