No Chat that's a perfect time for pasta!! This morning I ate my whole lunch at 10!
The scales say I'm the same weight but I feel huge!! My face is definitely fatter and I'm the same marmite it's the sandwich and crisps every lunch and big carby dinner... Not the baby making me fat!!

Celen I'm so sorry about your sad news. Both are awful and my thoughts are with you and your families.

Naran maybe you need even more food for brekkie! I haven't fainted but I have had a few times where I have just had to eat or I feel I would.

I've felt marginally better today, which is surprising as I had NO sleep last night at all and just got home after a 12 hour day at school. Hope the energy levels stay up so I can stay awake past 8!

Good luck to everyone with scans and appointments! It's so exciting so many of you are almost in the second trimester... It still feels so far away for me!

Celen · 19/09/2016 19:24

Thanks jpeg 😘

That happens to me all the time MrsRhubarb

My scan is Saturday- so excited (and nervous)

I bought a Doppler a few weeks ago and having been doing it every night just to make sure

So sorry Celen Flowers

Number4OnTheWay · 19/09/2016 19:41

Yes dodgy tum here too, although most of it seems to be wind...I don't want to chance it though Blush

Helbelle75 · 19/09/2016 19:52

I had a dodgy tummy last weekend and ligament pain. I feel very very pregnant, even though I'm only 10 weeks.
Been to slimming world tonight, but put anything in at all, yet i feel my body shape is changing a lot.
12 hour day in school sounds awful jpeg. I've been managing 8 hours, then straight home to sleep!

Celen · 19/09/2016 19:53

Lotsa what Doppler did you buy? Amazing that you're already hearing a heartbeat Smile

OP posts:
Bubbinsmakesthree · 19/09/2016 20:33

Amazing you can hear the heartbeat with a Doppler!

However, please never rely on them for reassurance. A friend was worried about reduced movement in the late stages of pregnancy, tried the Doppler and everything seemed fine. Then she thought better of it and contacted her midwife, who sent her to hospital - she had an EMCS immediately as the baby was not in a good way. He spent a while in NICU and is now a healthy toddler - but if she'd relied on the reassurance from the Doppler it could have been very different.

Sorry for the lecture, I'm sure everyone knows this anyway but I always feel the need to share that warning.

Mummymulb16 · 19/09/2016 20:34

I want to get a Doppler but would be so worried if it didn't work! Hmm

LotsaTuddles · 19/09/2016 20:43

I got this Doppler. Borrowed one from a friend last time. Won't use it once I can feel movements regularly.

April 2017 #3 - looking forward to first scans and the second trimester!
Niks2026 · 19/09/2016 20:55

How awful celen. Such sad news to have at anytime. My thoughts are with you, your friends and family.

I had the most ridiculously busy day that I ate nothing until 4pm. Feel bludy awful but a 1 hour meeting went on for 5 hours!!! No-one at work knows I'm pregnant so couldn't even sneak some food and that be ok.

I've had a couple of fainting dizzy spells and it's definitely been because I've not eaten or drunk enough.

I feel like the second trimester is still miles away too jpeg. I'm only 8 weeks and feel more like 6 months!

MumiTravels · 19/09/2016 23:59

So. My DH taught my 18 month old a new word today.

Tits.

Helbelle75 · 20/09/2016 04:36

Oh dear mumi !
Well, woke up for my nightly wee and starving hungry so taken myself off to the spare bed to eat vegetable crisps and babybel. Feeling quite sleep deprived at the moment. Up at 6.30 for work :-(

LuchiMangsho · 20/09/2016 06:43

Is anybody else being assailed by really vivid dreams? We've had kidnap scenarios, hijackings and I have lost DS so many times in my dream that I'm getting a bit paranoid in real life. Tonight I dreamed that I had moved back to India to give birth (not happening) and in my parents' living room had birthed a 10 pounder that began to speak in clear sentences almost as soon as it came out. WTF?!

AnnaKateNZ · 20/09/2016 07:09

Luchi yes I have been having super vivid dreams. Had an awful one the other night!

I'm 12 weeks today and struggling with awful dizziness today. Anyone found a good cure? Head between my legs helped for a wee bit but it came back.

Celen · 20/09/2016 07:18

Grin Mumi (sorry!)

Yes to both vivid dreams and insomnia, can't remember the last time I had 8 hours straight. Throw in a non-sleeping 3 year old as well and it's really like having a newborn again! Hmm

For the first time since being pregnant I didn't have to get up for the toilet though in the night! Wonder if my bambino is beginning to migrate upwards? Smile

Last thing - any inspiration for the next thread title? Was thinking something along lines of "ultra excited about our ultrasounds" ?

OP posts:
Niks2026 · 20/09/2016 07:22

Loving that title celen. I've booked a dating scan for Monday. I'll be. 9 weeks ish. Can't wait!!

SharkBastard · 20/09/2016 07:28

Anyone else struggling with brushing their teeth?! The toothbrush makes me gag, just thrown up my coffee and cereal...now have to brush again.

Yes to the vivid dreams! So weird but so bloody real!

What food aversions are people having? I have so many it's making eating very tricky! Totally off sweet stuff, DH bought me Ben & Jerry's but the thought of it makes me puke

Helbelle75 · 20/09/2016 07:29

Yes to the vivid dreams! I have a while different life when I'm asleep.
How exciting niks - you'll love it.

ChatEnOeuf · 20/09/2016 07:42

YY to the almost fainting/dizzy spells. Worst one was on last weekend's night shifts. Scrubbed, putting a line in and had to sit down, then had to stop as I just couldn't see straight or think straight. Very frightening - it settled after a short while, but I'd eaten and drunk loads beforehand.

No weird dreams yet, I look forward to those.

No thread inspiration here, I'm still trying not to throw up on people Grin

marmitecheesetoast · 20/09/2016 07:50

Shark that is literally me every other morning. I've switched from electric to normal toothbrush which seems to have helped a bit, though I'm definitely not doing a very throttling job of brushing.

Crazy vivid dreams here too!

Anna I've also struggled with dizziness and fainted a few times. Just make sure you get up really gradually whenever you stand up and snack frequently as probably down to low BP. Kind of obvious I know but that's what MW told me. No other magic fix unfortunately!

Celen how about something based on an amusing pregnancy related e-card?! E.g. see attached hehehGrin

April 2017 #3 - looking forward to first scans and the second trimester!
Strubo · 20/09/2016 08:05

Morning all! I'm going for my 12 week scan today! I'm so nervous but my husband keeps telling me everything's fine so I've to stop worrying. Will update you all later.

ecofreckle · 20/09/2016 08:05

Celen it's a bugger that you are having to deal with all of that now too. My friend got diagnosed in March had her double mastectomy in June and is on her first batch of chemo now. She had a CT scan last week which suggests she's already cancer free. It's harrowing and hard but so many success stories.

I fainted just before I found out I was pregnant this time. Also fainted last time.....I was much further along then but it was half an hour after a massive pub lunch. Doc said that blood going to digestion system probably took it away from my head.

I have taken to having a second dinner at ten ish. Trucklo something terrible. Scampi, fish fingers, oven chips or filled pasta. You have to do what you have to do!

I have a theory about the sickness. Folic Acid. Not sure if there's anything in it but I feel sure I'm sensitive to it. Bleurgh.

marmitecheesetoast · 20/09/2016 08:07

Ok I clearly just jinxed myself by saying every other morning. That was fairly spectacularly bad. Just blew my nose and there is fucking sick coming out my nose now too! Grim.

Anyone else found their sickness actually seems to be getting worse around 10 weeks mark?!

Good luck today Strobo I'm sure your DH is right! Let us know how you get on

choccybiscuit · 20/09/2016 08:21

Good luck struboi'm sure everything will be fine. Good luck to all others who have scans also.
shark the only aversion I have is tea and coffee, cannot stand the stuff now. But I'm loving apples even though I'm intolerant to them, but I don't care Smile

MrsRhubarb · 20/09/2016 08:38

Celen I'm so sorry about your sad news. Also now you mention it, I didn't have to get up in the night for a wee, and this morning I did a massive one. Maybe this baby is starting to head upwards too.

Skittles and Strubo good luck for your scans, I await positive news of wiggly little babies!

Luchi yes to vivid dreams! I think they're tailing off a little now, but they've been so weird.

Shark I read this on the Pregnancy Sickness Support page, there might be somehing in there that will help you. I can't stand sweet stuff either, but everything makes me sick anyway.

Marmite my sickness started at about 8/9 weeks and has been getting progressively worse

DH and DD are both hugely snotty, what a fun week off work this is turning into! Booking in today, slightly worried - I've been telling myself she will be able to do something (magic wand?) to help the sickness, and it's kind of kept me going. If she can't help I think I will cry on her.
