What a lovely photo Smile Looking forward to more photos later ladies.

I'm feeling good today. DH is home so we're going to a farm park with DS as it's tropical where I live. Then lots of washing to get through.

I seem to be getting nausea about 9pm now. I get into bed then a big wave hits me. The heartburn has also kicked in. I kept gaviscon in business with DS. I can't tolerate greasy food at all at the minute, sat down to share a chip butty with DS yesterday and couldn't eat it. DS enjoyed it though.

I hope you all manage to sort your finances and not have to worry about money at such a special time.

Puggleface · 13/09/2016 11:58

Congrats sussex what a lovely scan picture!

MrsRhubarb · 13/09/2016 12:04

What a lovely scan picture Sussex

Roasting here too, and I've just thrown up for the third time this morning. I've mostly just been pathetic lately, but today I'm just pissed off and fed up. DH is kindly cutting the grass, usually something I do but it's looking a bit like a jungle unkempt as I just haven't been up to it. He loathes grass cutting so I must make sure he knows how much it is appreciated.

Theknittinggorilla · 13/09/2016 13:25

Lovely picture sussex Smile

MyGreenSofa · 13/09/2016 13:29

Congrats on the scan Sussex, lovely picture! Was that your 12 week scan?

It's DD's birthday on Thursday so I need to do some wrapping now while she's asleep. First I need to clear up the lunch she decided not to eat, hang washing up then wash the sofa cushion covers because it appears she has managed to smear chocolate all over them. I just want to sleep!

needtoloseastone · 13/09/2016 13:49

mumitravels the thing that helps me the most with heartburn is a drop of apple cider vinegar diluted in some water. The relief is literally instantaneous

Bubbinsmakesthree · 13/09/2016 14:44

Great scan picture Sussex - it never fails to amaze me how fully formed they look at 12 weeks. No wonder we are all knackered!

My booking in could not have been less eventful - I've had more exciting trips to the bank. Was hoping to at least get to moan about feeling crap but she didn't even ask how I was!

Was classed as low risk and recommended for the midwife led birthing centre - wonder how long that will last (I had various complications last time and that was a complete non-starter).

Very tired and woozy today - everything feels like dragging myself through treacle.

Annilack · 13/09/2016 15:54

Wow sussex what a clear scan picture. Im glad we live on am era where we get to experience seeing our babies before they are born.
At the 12 week scan they take the Nuchel measurements do you then habe to go for some more blood tests....I seem to remember getting some paperwork last time?

jpeg28 · 13/09/2016 16:30

sussex what a lovely photo!!! Congrats.

I'm so glad I'm not the only one carbo loading!! It's all I want! Last night I had a huge bowl of pasta and garlic bread followed by half a bar of dairy milk (the big one!) them left overs today. I need to be healthier and I'm not doing enough exercise. My MW would tell me off!!

Sorry to everyone who is exhausted and nauseous... Today has been one of the worst days... The heat!! I wish the kids at school knew I was pg too so they would give me a break! Off home for a nap!

Niks2026 · 13/09/2016 16:40

Sussex what a lovely photo!! I cannot wait for my scab, don't even have a date yet!

Glad to see I'm not the only one overloading on the carbs and bad food. I'm in the mood for lasagna, chips and garlic bread for dinner. Maybe some salad too :)

Jobrum we had to make some cut backs and sacrifices in order to have the whole year off with dd2 but it was very important to me to not feel rushed back. I went back after 7 months with dd1 and had a bit of a breakdown about leaving her. The sacrifices were completely worth it and I'll be doing it again this time. It also means I get more time with my DDs taking them to school and attending assemblies, workshops sessions etc.

SussexTeacher · 13/09/2016 16:43

I was so nervous going into it. There was a part of me that thought I might not even be pregnant! But I cried when she showed me the baby moving, stretching and wriggling. It's my first child so didn't know what to expect, but was amazing seeing the brain and all the little body parts.

I'm also further ahead than I thought. I thought I was 11+5 but the scan calculation was 12+5.

Yes they do the nuchal fluid measurement. Mine was apparently fine. I then had a blood test. She said if there was any concerns with the bloods I would get a telephone call tomorrow. If no concerns I'll get a letter in the post.

Good luck everyone else with scans!

abeandhalo · 13/09/2016 17:00

Holy sh*t that looks like an actual baby. I was expecting to see a little blurry bean. I've got my scan next week which will be 12 weeks on the button I think. My nausea is crippling at weekends but not too bad at work which I suppose is a good thing but it would be nice to actually enjoy my time off! Hoping it's going to start calming down soon anyway.

abeandhalo · 13/09/2016 17:02

And yes I'm with the no healthy food club. To be honest I can't believe people have asked me about it at work - I normally have a smoothie for breakfast and a salad for lunch daily, today I had a ham and cheese white bread sandwich with mini Cheddars!

jpeg28 · 13/09/2016 17:03

It's amazing how much the baby changes in such a few weeks! My scan at 7 weeks was barely a blob!!

If anyone has Facebook look up "mummie mumbles" I've just spent ages reading her posts... So funny and very honest!! Was a good read for a first timer!!

Daisy111 · 13/09/2016 19:08

Good news from my scan - all well, and right wriggler! I am also a bit further along than I thought, so I am 10 weeks tomorrow and due date currently 12 April.

Phew!

Xx

Number4OnTheWay · 13/09/2016 19:14

Struggling with tiredness today...possibly attached to the fact I was up till 3am with sickness :(
Scan this morning was all good, one baby looking happy and healthy, saw a little heartbeat and measuring around 7 weeks.
Then I saw the epau midwife :( she was horrible. Kept going on and on about the risks and had I really thought it through. Talking to me like a nayght school kid who had got knocked up. I have 3 children why would I want to put myself through it again? Over and over. I snapped and told her I was fully aware of the risks, this is pregnancy number 10. But again even as I was walking out she again mentioned the risks, and problems I could face. I just wanted to cry :(
Feeling really low now though.

jpeg28 · 13/09/2016 19:25

Number4 that's so awful that she spoke to you like that! She should be helpful and supportive! Will you have to go back there again? If so you should request not to have her! I'm glad the scan went well tho and you have a little heartbeat in there!!

Daisy great news about your scan too... The second trimester is just around the corner!!

Number4OnTheWay · 13/09/2016 19:30

I shouldn't have to no. Normally I would be pushing for a 10 week scan, but I don't want to see her again so not going to push. She's the early pregnancy midwife not my normal one thankfully.

MrsRhubarb · 13/09/2016 20:32

Congrats Daisy! I'm getting scan envy, still no appointment letter here at 10+2. Grr.

Oh Number4, what a cow! I feel for you.

I've just looked at the weather and it's going to be lovely for the next two days. I'm so annoyed, I just want some nice damp overcast days. I feel better on those days.

Is 8.30 too early to go to bed? No, I didn't think so.

Number4OnTheWay · 13/09/2016 20:38

Mrs I've been in bed since 7.30 Blush I may not be asleep, but im resting!

TheNewWife · 14/09/2016 06:23

Hello ladies
Due my first baby on April 19th.
Thought I would say hello :)

SharkBastard · 14/09/2016 06:25

I was in bed by 8 and asleep by 8:30! Don't feel any better for it but there we go!

Welcome and congratulations TheNewWife

TheNewWife · 14/09/2016 06:33

Thank you SharkBastard
I'm sleeping around the clock and still find myself yawning! For someone who used to rise by 6am every day, I cannot believe I got up at 2pm yesterday!! 2pm!! Hahahahahahaha.

Bubbinsmakesthree · 14/09/2016 08:16

I was asleep at 8pm yesterday too (then was awake for quite a while in the middle of the night!)

Welcome thenewwife

Number4 - wow I would take my totally disinterested midwife over that any day of the week. don't let her get to you.

Anyone do a public transport commute? I'm lucky that I almost always get a seat on the train, as I'm often feeling too sick or woozy want to stand for 40 mins at the moment, but there are so many heavily pregnant women on my route - luckily someone else usually gives up a seat but I feel sheepish that I'm staying sitting when I am not visibly in need.

MrsRhubarb · 14/09/2016 10:03

Welcome NewWife

Slept like a baby, but woke up in the middle of the night as I was roasting, not helped by the fact that DD had come and flopped in between us at some point, and was determind to snuggle up against me - she is like a little furnace.

Praying for a better day with sickness, the weather is blissfully cooler than the BBC said it would be so I'm happy with that. Distracting myself from nausea by crocheting a blanket for baby. I learnt to crochet when I was pregnant with DD, and the first thing I made was a blanket for her which she loves and uses all the time. It feels lovely to be making something to snuggle this one up in, and remind me that the sickness will be worth it!

April 2017 #3 - looking forward to first scans and the second trimester!
