My scan went well! Saw little wriggling bean with good heartbeat measuring 8+6 rather than 9+4 though but with my cycle I expected that. Means my due date is 17th April now.

JennyOfOldstones · 11/09/2016 12:00

Yay! Congrats Sofa fab news.

MumiTravels · 11/09/2016 12:18

@Naranaciata - I hope you find a cosolation cheddar in the supermarket Grin. What about cooked Camembert?

Yay for wriggly bean @Sofa

feetfirmlyofftheground · 11/09/2016 12:19

Hey I'm also due April (about the 17th!)

I'm so pleased there's so many of us :) this makes me less paranoid and alone!

SmileSmile

Esker · 11/09/2016 12:38

Great news sofa!

Naranciata- the second the advice on the baked Camembert. Just get your hands on whatever you want and cook the hell out of it!! (Although sadly that will ruin things like steak of course). I went to France with my mum and sister immediate after discovering I was pregnant and endured many deprivations esp oysters and chilled white wine.

naranciata · 11/09/2016 13:09

Oh I am going to be all over baked Camembert. Also bread. And pastries. And will try and fit some vegetables in there somewhere...

feetfirmlyofftheground · 11/09/2016 13:54

Me due 17th, first one and bloody scared! Chocolate

Daisy111 · 11/09/2016 15:08

Hello ladies

I've been lurking for a while, too scared to join for fear of 'jinxing' my pregnancy... (I know... I'm normally very rational!)

Anyway, my sickness is freaking me out by coming and going, and I'm off sailing in Greece next Sunday, so I have caved and booked a private scan for Tuesday.

If all is well, I will then feel more confident in telling the friends we are going on holiday with. Not that they wouldn't guess the second I turned down a glass of wine.

Has anyone else had the fear that you've imagined the whole pregnancy, and the sonographer is going to look at you with pity and gently tell you that you're a fantasist?!

I realise I'm sounding fairly insane in this post!

Xx

naranciata · 11/09/2016 15:31

Not insane at all Daisy. I did three tests in a row the week before last because I hadn't had any symptoms for a couple of days. Insane. Hopefully the scan will put your mind at rest.

Daisy111 · 11/09/2016 15:42

Thanks Naranciata!

Feet, I think I'm due same as you - 17th.

Partly enjoying not feeling sick today, partly worried by it! Still producing gallons of saliva though (lovely), some suppose that's a positive sign!

Hope you're all enjoying a sunny Sunday.

Number4OnTheWay · 11/09/2016 15:59

Daisy, you are not alone!! I constantly worry that I've just made it all up and I'm not really pregnant. The symptoms are my body tricking me rather than because of an actual baby! Its actually perfectly normal to think and worry like this xx

everdene · 11/09/2016 17:48

I haven't heard about my scan yet - my appointment with the midwife was 10 days ago.

I'm 9+5, when should I chase?

Bubbinsmakesthree · 11/09/2016 17:51

Welcome Daisy and Feet

I'd love a respite from the nausea right now (though know I'd probably panic if my symptoms went!)

Number4OnTheWay · 11/09/2016 18:03

I'd start chasing around the 11 week mark :)

My 12 week scan date gas come through :) and I ended up moving my reassurance scan from Friday to Tuesday. I wasn't going to, but my dd2 has autism and had a massive meltdown. I had to go and see the head so ended up missing the appointment , but did make the assembly Hmm

ecofreckle · 11/09/2016 19:11

Lovely news for a Sunday greensofa.

Welcome daisy and, was it feet?

I'm just back from a week on holiday in Norfolk. Probably my least fun holiday ever. Didn't venture far and was welded to sofa every evening. I even made DH sleep in the spare room for the duration.

I seem to have returned with a chest infection. I'm asthmatic so I'll head to doc tomorrow. Meanwhile as I wheeze away I thought I'd ask if any of you are asthmatic too? I know I can take my blue puffer but it's just not cutting it. The leaflet in my pink puffer says not to take during pregnancy but asthma UK site says asthma drugs are safe to take during pregnancy. Confused. And struggling! Anyone wise out there?

I also came home to a letter advising that the community midwife at my surgery is male. Novel. Anyone else have experience of make midwifery care? Last time I remember being suspicious of midwives who hadn't birthed themselves. Ridiculous really. I shall look forward to discussing mucus plugs and the like with him.

Thanks for lemonade tip whoever that was. Finally a drink I can fancy.

Bubbinsmakesthree · 11/09/2016 19:12

Wow I've never come across a male midwife!

JennyOfOldstones · 11/09/2016 19:19

I saw the grand high midwife once last time when no one else was available and he was a man. I was quite surprised but he was lovely.

Number4OnTheWay · 11/09/2016 20:31

Eco, I'm asmatic. Its ok to take your pink. The leaflets HAVE to say that because it's unethical to test drugs on pregnant women, however the risks of not taking it far out weigh the risks of taking it.
I have a purple inhaler I was first prescribed it while I was pregnant.
If you're wheezing away take it and then talk to your dr tomorrow, but I am 100% sure they will say to keep taking it xx

LuchiMangsho · 11/09/2016 21:46

I went to the GP about 3 weeks ago. Heard absolutely nothing from the hospital so far. No booking in appointment and no scan. I am not sure how to even begin chasing them- go back to the GP or call up the hospital.
I know London hospitals are so busy that things take time, but not sure how long to give it before I start jumping up and down and demanding to be seen?

Daisy111 · 11/09/2016 21:51

Luchi, which hospital are you with? I'm with St George's in SW London, and they have been super efficient - I had my booking in at 7 weeks and my scan date came through a couple of days after. And since then I've had further messages from the community midwives.

Give them a chase, sounds like they're being a bit useless!

LuchiMangsho · 11/09/2016 21:55

Oooh. We probably don't live far. I'm SW London, but going with Chelsea and Westminster. I had DC1 there and my ERPC there as well. They were very good. My other choices were Kingston and West Mid but I don't live that far out and wanted to stay somewhere that is easier to access on public transport.

Bubbinsmakesthree · 11/09/2016 22:08

Luchi I'd phone your GP first, and double check they've referred you through. They might be able to chase it up on your behalf if they think you should have heard already, or at least tell you who to contact.

My letters confirming my booking in and scan were sent out only a few days after my GP appointment - both arrived in same envelope despite being from two different hospitals with the same trust. Nice to see a bit of efficiency within the NHS!

abercorn · 11/09/2016 22:30

hi Daisy,
Same here, no symptoms and the test has come out positive thrice! I am just gonna stay positive and enjoy the extra pampering i am getting from hubby :)
anyone going for st maries paddington or university college hospital euston? i am still torn between the two and seems like at the end of the day you just have to take a chance!

Helbelle75 · 11/09/2016 22:48

My symptoms seem to be changing a bit. Had a masive burst of energy earlier, and heartburn rather than nausea. My boobs aren't quite as sore, but they're really uneven. My right is about twice the side of my left (not difficult - I'm tiny!).
I got my scan date through the day after my booking in appt . Very efficient here I think.

ChatEnOeuf · 12/09/2016 03:36

We have a lovely male mw at our hospital - he totally cares and goes the extra mile every shift. I don't think you have to have delivered a baby in order to be a mw - birth experiences vary so much and some people present a very blinkered view as a result.

Hel my boobs are wonky too, only it's my left side that's grown!

I'd call the hospital appt place Lushi, or antenatal scan. At least then if you're not in their system you might be able to persuade them to give you a date.
