I'm sure the spotting is completely fine Niks but definitely mention it to GP if you get the chance. I wanted to lose a stone before getting pg and didn't! I've been swimming this week but I need to force myself to go more than once or twice a week! I'm too frightened to run I don't know why but I'm scared! Going to walk to town today which is 40 mins each way so hoping that's good exercise!

MumiTravels · 10/09/2016 13:25

Hi Ladies. Just catching up.

The midwife rang this morning and asked if I could do my booking in today instead. So it's all done now. Scan in 4 weeks.

Providing I'm healthy at 37 weeks I should be allowed a VBAC at home. Fingers crossed.

I'm tired today after a late one last night. No alcohol to give you that second wind either.

I'm also dreading any weight gain this time. I was a fair bit lighter last time and weighed less after giving birth than before I was pregnant. Can't see it happening this time.

Esker · 10/09/2016 13:31

Hello all and happy weekend!

Strubo I'm so sorry your friend had that reaction. She shouldn't have said those things to you, but then people can lash out when they are suffering. Hopefully it won't be too much longer before she has success TTC and she'll be able to be happy for you (and maybe apologise!)

I've made it to 11.3 weeks now. Had a scan on Thursday and they confirmed that expected due date is 29 March. It was SUCH a relief to see the little one safely in there and hear the heartbeat again (had early scan at 6 weeks). S/he was moving around like crazy! It's my first child so I have never experienced an ultrasound before (apart from the early one which is of course different) It was amazing to see it using its legs to kick off the side of the uterus as sort of bounce up. Phew!

My stomach is pretty much poking out quite noticeably now. Work trousers too tight so I bought some drawstring waist ones from H&M which are way more comfy but I definitely have a little pot belly. Dresses more comfortable but I think make stomach more obvious.

Anyone got any recommendations for pregnancy pillows?

jpeg28 · 10/09/2016 14:35

That's so great Esker! I cannot wait for the 12 week scan... The early one is just not quite the same.... I don't know about pregnancy pillows but I definitely will want a good one so recommendations would be great!

Bellatrixandstrange · 10/09/2016 17:41

Anyone else vomiting blood? Starting to worry, just called 111 waiting for a gp to call back but there's been bright red blood in my vomit for the last two days. Sensibly it's probably because I've thrown up so much but I'm a bit scared.

Bubbinsmakesthree · 10/09/2016 17:44

strubo that is sad - try not to judge her too harshly, it wasn't nice of her to lash out at you like that, but I've heard many stories of people reacting similarly when they are struggling to conceive. She owes you an apology but give her time.

esker great news on the scan.

Really struggling today - so tired, so sick. Have basically been in bed all day.

SharkBastard · 10/09/2016 17:45

I had a bit of blood in my vomit the other day, I put it down to straining etc. I think it's good you've called 111.

Let us know how you get on

love2003 · 10/09/2016 17:49

Sorry to hear about your friends reaction strubo. It must be difficult to hear when grieving but she has to accept that life goes on and she can't expect other people to stop living their life.

One of my best friends was pregnant as well and we were due two days apart, both with our firsts. Unfortunately she had her 12w scan this week and has had a mmc, I am devastated for her. I have my scan on Thursday this week and although I'm terrified, if everything goes ok, I'm not sure how to approach this with her?! Confused I will obviously be ecstatic but have to broach it sensitively with her.... She has been more than supportive already and has apologised if she has got me worried because of what happened to her, bless her.

Number4OnTheWay · 10/09/2016 18:45

Bellatrix if you've been vomiting a few times over the last 2 days the acid will be affecting your throat. Try not to worry too much, and hang on for that gp call. Theyll be able to asses you and work out if there is anything else going on xx

naranciata · 10/09/2016 18:53

Feeling sorry for everyone suffering!

I have been feeling queasy and have got through 1.5 litres of Sprite Zero. Best friend is a dentist and will KILL ME. Sorry teeth!

Also, went for a wax earlier and it hurt SO much. More blood flow to bikine area etc etc. Ouch.

I want to buy some clothes because I have no nice Autumn/Winter stuff but am a bit stuck for what to go for because (hopefully) by proper Winter I will have a bump to deal with. But equally I don't want to shop now for stuff for then. Maybe, as DH says, I should just stop fucking shopping.

ChatEnOeuf · 10/09/2016 19:09

My wardrobe is a disaster at the moment. I lost a fair bit of weight after DS was born, and cleared out everything that didn't fit. Got pregnant in spring and gained a little with nausea only being eased by eating...didn't really lose it post-MC as all my summer dresses still fitted fine (and to be honest I was probably a bit too skinny to start with). Now I'm eating loads again and none of my trousers fit!

Strubo I'm sorry your friend lashed out. I lost a lot of friends last year - those who had the time to post 30 pictures a day on facebook of their darling kids, but couldn't find 30 seconds to say 'I'm sorry your baby died'. One of my close friends announced her pregnancy when I was at my lowest - not her fault and she did it in the most sensitive way possible, but it still hurt like hell. We aren't as close as we used to be, simply because I couldn't handle being around her when she was pregnant. Give her time, she may well come back, but she may not. Sometimes there are unintended casualties of babyloss.

Finally tried to book a MW appt. Turns out the system has changed, and I have to see the GP first . Apparently, three separate scans aren't enough and I have to see someone in person. So that's Tuesday's activity sorted. Thankfully 12w scan is already booked, or I expect they would be struggling.

JennyOfOldstones · 10/09/2016 20:24

Strubo I have been on the receiving end of some pretty insensitive pregnancy announcements when I was ttc for a long time and it sounds like you went out of your way to break it to your friend gently. Hopefully she comes round soon.

I also have to see the gp first. All that happened last time was a lecture on folic acid.

LotsaTuddles · 10/09/2016 20:46

I just have a normal 'v' pillow, but may have to invest in a better one this time as I'm already suffering with my hips and back.

Anyone else swinging from freezing cold to absolutely sweating?

'D'H got our dog some toothpaste (he's been having dentastick things but practically chews it twice and it's gone) - fucking chicken flavour!! Envy

MrsRhubarb · 10/09/2016 20:50

Sickness is back again today with a vengeance and I haven't been able to keep a thing down so just kind of given up trying to eat now, just as I thought I was starting to feel better. I weighed myself this morning, I've lost over 10lbs since finding out I was pregnant. It's weight I can well afford to loose, but I just hope baby is getting everything it needs at this crucial stage of development. Feeling very sorry for myself as I sit with my peach sparkling water and DH scoffs some nice chocolatey thing he brought back from the supermarket.

Bellatrixandstrange · 10/09/2016 21:21

Back from the out of hours. They tested my wee and I have a high reading of ketones. She's given me medication, cyclizine, and said if I don't get better in 24 hours they need to think about admitting me for iv. Has anyone else taken cyclizine? How was it?

LotsaTuddles · 10/09/2016 21:28

Works for some, doesn't work for others Bellatrix. I had it both times worked with one, but not the other.... Although apparently I just get worse with every pregnancy ShockConfused

Bellatrixandstrange · 10/09/2016 21:37

lotsa that sucks is anything working for you?

Bubbinsmakesthree · 10/09/2016 21:51

My DH bought me Dreamgenii pillow last time - which was good but I don't remember thinking it was worth it's weight in gold or anything. I also had a cheap IKEA v-shaped pillow which I used a bit when I was pregnant but was great postnatal: I liked for feeding in bed and when DS would only sleep on my chest it kept me wedged in a semi-upright position whilst I slept. I think I could have got by with just the V pillow to be honest - the Dreamgenii was too much faff for postnatal use.

MyGreenSofa · 11/09/2016 07:11

Got my private early scan today, eek! Feeling very nervous, hoping for good news!

SharkBastard · 11/09/2016 08:17

Good luck Green, let us know how you get on! Exciting Grin

I have a V pillow and found it really useful especially for feeding! I have a long pillow for heavy pregnancy so I shove it between my knees.

AnnaKateNZ · 11/09/2016 09:23

Good luck Green! I'm on the two week count down till my first scan. You have to be 12 +4 here in NZ and because that falls on the weekend I'll be a day off 13 weeks by the time the scan is booked for!

LotsaTuddles · 11/09/2016 09:39

Nope Bellatrix, I've kind of managed to minimise it so far. I feel more sick and faint if I'm hungry and just bring up bile, so I have to pretty much consistency eat, but then I'm obviously sick Confused I'm used to it now though, just make sure I'm practically drinking all day

MumiTravels · 11/09/2016 09:48

Ladies vomitting blood. Is it streaky blood stained or is it pools of blood? Streaky can just be from the force and frequency. I would get checked out though of it's pools of blood and get your Hb checked.

The H&M sale is very good at the moment. I've bought 3 swing dresses in the next size up that look nice now but will fit a bump under with tights. They also had some of their maternity range on sale too. I found the nursing bras very good last time. Matalan have maternity leggings for £8 which are amazing. Quite thick and no saggy bottom. I also bought a 3/4 sleeve striped top for £6 which is really nice with jeans and a cardigan for casual.

I'm spotting again today. Bright red. 4 weeks until my scan. It's going to be a long wait. My midwife is quite.. erm.. stern. She said I've got to stay active and not have anytime off work etc to maximise my chances of home birth. Also no extra scans etc etc.

ChatEnOeuf · 11/09/2016 11:01

Hmm, I'd take surviving the first trimester over a home birth any day Mumi! I'd be surprised if taking things easy for a month had that great an impact anyway.

I've looked at who's seeing me, Jenny - it's a first year registrar. I bet I know more about pregnancy than he does Wink. I'm drowning in frolic - been on it well over a year!

Good luck for your scan Green

naranciata · 11/09/2016 11:49

Thanks for the H&M tip, I'll check it out.

I'm travelling again. Four weeks in France for work. Staying in a nice apartment rather than a hotel so can cook for myself rather than eating out every night. Feeling slightly sad about missing out on rare steak, soft cheese and wine! Feeling hopeful, I checked the French dietary recommendations for pregnancy because people always say that in France they eat Camembert and rare meat etc - NOT TRUE! The rules are basically the same as ours with a little more wiggle room on charcuterie.
