Hope everyone has a nice week!

Good news is that April babies will start entering trimester 2 from this week. Yay to all of us!

My scan is Tuesday and I'm already doing nervous poos just thinking about it!

LuchiMangsho · 12/09/2016 06:35

As the wife of someone who has worked at St. Mary's, I would tell you to choose UCH over Mary's. Even DH (who is a medic) told me not to go to the maternity unit at Mary's.

gemsbok · 12/09/2016 07:32

Hurrah for 2nd trimester coming round the corner! I'm 11 + 2 now and still exhausted, but the nausea is fading.

I chased my scan at 10 weeks, I'm impatient, but had already received my hospital 16 week appointment to discuss vbac / section. They just made the appointment there and then on the phone! Wish I'd called earlier.

marmitecheesetoast · 12/09/2016 08:12

Morning all, great to see more positive scan news!

So jealous of those nearing the second trimester and really hope you do all feel loads better soon! I'm 9+1 and feel like a zombie. I had two naps yesterday despite a 9 and a half hour sleep overnight!

This hideous cold, which I've now had for a week, seems to be turning into a chesty cough which is making me either feel super nauseous or vom everytime I have a big coughing fit. not impressed!

Also, DH decide to cook a chicken in the slow cooker for his work lunches yesterday. And then make broth with the bones. The whole fucking house stank of cooking chicken all day and all night and had me gagginf left, right and centre.

Need to tell work today or tomorrow really about 'medical appointment' for scan. Timing and location wise it's going to be mean basically the whole morning off. I'm normally really open with my manager after I had some health issues last year so worried it'll seem really weird being mysterious about it Hmm

Hope those waiting for scan dates hear soon!

choccybiscuit · 12/09/2016 08:27

Wonky boots here too! Left is so much bigger than right and you can really notice as I'm usually flat chested lol.
Anyone going to Queen charlottes in West London? They really looked after me with dd2 as she was an emcs.
Had the worst nightmare last night. Really makes you feel like crazy the whole day Sad

choccybiscuit · 12/09/2016 08:28

*boobs not boots

choccybiscuit · 12/09/2016 08:29

Not crazy, crappy! What is wrong with me today!!!

Puggleface · 12/09/2016 09:43

Just catching up on the weekends activities!
Lovely scan news sofa and welcome daisy and feet

Was down in London for a wedding at the weekend, paranoid about being busted for not drinking. I think I was clocked by a work colleague on my table for trying to 'fake' drink for the toasts!
It has absolutley whipped me out though. I napped all yesterday afternoon when we got home and have woken up this morning with swollen glads so extra tired and feeling really sorry for myself!

For those still waiting on scan appointments, I just called Ultrasound direct as it had been 3 weeks since my referral. I think it must have got lost somewhere beacsue my GP did both my consultant referral and my 12 week scan referral. They recieved the consultant one but they can't give me an appointment with him until i've had my 12 week scan apparently! So chased ultrasound and they didn't have my referral but made me an appointment there and then on the phone!

MrsRhubarb · 12/09/2016 09:46

10 weeks, and baby is now the size of petit four.

Sickness has been really awful this weekend, and even now I'm trying not the throw up the half glass of water I've dared have so far this morning. Had to cancel plans to see a friend I haven't seen in ages as I just can't face the drive there.

Still no scan appointment here, and still got over a week to wait for my rediculously late booking in. Fed up of feeling sorry for myself.

Niks2026 · 12/09/2016 10:00

Lovely news on the scans.

I'm only 7w and waiting to hear from a midwife for booking in and a scan date.
I had an awful weekend sickness wise accompanied by ridiculous nightmares and a 3 yr who would not sleep.
I've had to call in sick today because my little DD has been awake since 2am!!! She then threw up all over my bedroom carpet and has a raging temperature. I haven't told work I'm pregnant yet so I just called and said both little one and myself must have a sick bug. Hope they're not too cross I'm not in second week back to school. I feel bad but what can I do if little one is sick and I'm feeling so rough is likely fall asleep at my desk.

SharkBastard · 12/09/2016 10:00

Wish I was nearer 12 weeks! 8+1 and feel awful! Had to call in sick today as I puked this morning and can't keep much down :(

I just hate the thought that I have at least another 4 weeks of this nausea. I really do hate feeling sick!

JennyOfOldstones · 12/09/2016 10:07

Just had my GP appt and booking in with midwife tomorrow. Will have to take DD with me but it was either that or wait 2 weeks. Hope she behaves. The receptionist said it took 1hr20 but I hope it is quicker than that!!!!

Is it just me that's wondering what Gert said!? Advertising maybe???

Bellatrixandstrange · 12/09/2016 11:40

Yes advertising loans, I reported it.

Number4OnTheWay · 12/09/2016 11:59

Nice!! Can't even have a simple antenatal thread without someone trying to sell us something Hmm

Bubbinsmakesthree · 12/09/2016 12:04

marmite - cooking chicken all day is basically grounds for divorce Angry

puggle - I felt the same after the wedding we were at last weekend - next day I was broken. After a fairly hectic fortnight and not being able to let my guard down at home because of DH's niece staying I spent half this weekend in bed. Bless DH he has entertained DS most of the weekend whilst I have been feeling sorry for myself.

I need to get DS some lunch - was planning tuna sarnies but the thought of stinky tuna is making me heave. It'll have to be cheese again then - poor DS has a terrible diet right now!

MyGreenSofa · 12/09/2016 12:05

Haha, usually the antenatal threads get left alone!

The sickness is such a slog! And the tiredness! So much to do but just no energy whatsoever.

Sorry forgotten name of poster whose DD was sick during the night - hope you both get some rest today, don't feel bad about calling in sick, of course you have no choice if your child is ill!

Puggleface · 12/09/2016 12:28

OK random food related question... I've googled and I think its fine but just wanted to see other people's opinions! Prawns, yay or nay? I'm just planning to meet some friends for lunch tomorrow at wagamama's and i'm hankering for a pad thai. what are we thinking?

Daisy111 · 12/09/2016 12:38

I think prawns are fine in moderation - they contain mercury, but are fine in small doses if I remember correctly.

IrnBrufan · 12/09/2016 12:46

Hmmmm I thought prawns were a no no puggle
I was reading something earlier that said to stay away from shark and swordfish and to only eat tuna once a week and it didn't mention prawns but I vaguely remember from last pregnancy that prawns were on the no list

MyGreenSofa · 12/09/2016 12:49

Are prawns considered shellfish? Then I think if cooked should be alright? But I wouldn't go mad with them though! I went totally off fish last pregnancy and pretty much off everything remotely nutritional right now so haven't had much of a problem avoiding them!

jobrum · 12/09/2016 13:32

niks oh dear hope she starts to feel better and you both manage to get some sleep today.

I had a migraine at the weekend and am sure I'm getting another one. Had them really bad during my last pregnancy, two a week but they'd last a couple of days. With a toddler I cant deal with that again so have a drs appt and will request betablockers which will hopefully stop them. I just had a little cry on the loo as Im so worried about them returning. Feeling sorry for myself! Took something different before but the side effects were awful. And I had my mum telling me it would be my fault of the baby was born with deformaties. Thanks mum! I'm sure the doctor would not have prescribed me something unsafe but I was already feeling bad about it!

9 weeks, had nothing for a booking appt or scan but I checked and I have been refered to the hospital. Might chase up booking when ay doctors tomorrow.

Puggleface · 12/09/2016 13:44

I didn't eat any prawns in my last pregnancy, but google tells me cooked shellfish is fine. I'll probably avoid them to be fair, which is a shame... back to the wagamama's menu!

ecofreckle · 12/09/2016 13:57

Jobrum I'm with you on the migraines. Immigran should be okay if you look at migraine association website. Good luck with doc. It's miserable. But come second tri they might go away.

Thanks for your advice about asthma number4. Just back from doc....Fostair is back on and so is a five day dose of eight oral steroids a day. So wheezy. I have to drive for two hours tonight and facilitate a training day for teachers outdoors tomorrow then drive home again. Life is so hard these first few weeks. I keep thinking of my Nan who had 15 children. Same daddy, no multiple births. Eek.
