Great news jpeg what a relief. And what a strange scan luchi hope you get some answers soon.

Oh my god I had forgotten how difficult this is. The sickness and tiredness have hit with a vengeance this week and I am really struggling. My lively 3 year old and 18 month old just want to play and I can hardly move from the sofa. Yuk.

marmitecheesetoast · 04/09/2016 14:20

Fantastic news jpeg!Star

Sounds like a very strange scan Luchi hope you get clarity soon

jobrum · 04/09/2016 14:22

luchi I have loads of discharge like last time but this just reminded me of losing the mucus plug. But a lot smaller I wonder if it's because my cervix isn't what it once was having forced out my massive headed dd!

knittinggorilla two must be hard work. I feel so guilty every time I say "mummy can't pick you up she feels a bit sick". Does the three year old help keep 18m old entertained at least?

Bubbinsmakesthree · 04/09/2016 14:23

Brilliant news jpeg - but sorry your OH has been a dick.

Luchi - hope you get some answers soon, but good to know there is (at least!) one healthy bean in there!

Had a lovely time at wedding and in hotel overnight (and DS has been having a great time with his GPs). DH is very hungover and I feel exactly like I'm hungover - I keep forgetting I'm not!

Number4OnTheWay · 04/09/2016 14:42

Jpeg I'm so glad to hear about the good scan! Luchi how odd, I hope you get good news soon.

I'm think I'm sinking into antenatal depression Sad I had it really bad with my 1st and 2nd pregnancies but didn't have it with my last and was hoping to avoid it this time too :( I'm just so grumpy and low all the time, I burst into tears at the smallest thing and I just feel so sad all the time. I was hoping to not book in for a few more week, but think I'm going to have to do it sooner rather than later :(

cantmakeme · 04/09/2016 14:47

number4 I seem to have a bit of that, too. A sense of constant dread, in my case. I had it with my DD as well, as as I recall it only lasted the first trimester. How long did yours go on?

Theknittinggorilla · 04/09/2016 14:52

jobrum yes he does a bit, they are unfortunately at that stage where they either want to play with exactly the same toy (so fight) or the small one spoils the big ones games (fight). Though actually ds1 is playing 'fetch'

Theknittinggorilla · 04/09/2016 14:55

Oops ds1 just pressed post while I was still writing! Ds1 teaching ds2 to fetch which is keeping them out of my hair temporarily. Most of the time it's fine but my patience is low and I feel rotten. Definitely having moments of what am I thinking (will have three under 5). Will all be worth it in the end Smile
Sorry you are feeling low number4

Theknittinggorilla · 04/09/2016 14:56

And cantmakeme

Theknittinggorilla · 04/09/2016 14:59

And cantmakeme

jpeg28 · 04/09/2016 15:04

Sorry you're feeling like this number4 and cantmake... Hope your midwives can help in some way.

Home from scan... OH has apologised and about to tuck into an extremely unhealthy meal of pie chips and beans! Just really wanted it!

Sorry you're struggling thknittinggorilla... I honestly don't know how you guys do this with other little ones! My house is a mess because I can't find the energy to do anything!

jobrum I had that about a week ago in between spotting days! I googled it and some sites said it could be the mucus plug forming... I'm sure it's completely ok!

SharkBastard · 04/09/2016 15:29

Great news on the scan Jpeg

What a confusing time Luchi, hope you're able to get some sort of answer, seems a bit much doesn't it?!

Sorry to those feeling low, it's a hell of a strain on the brain all these hormones etc, tis a bit shit being a woman brewing a baby, isn't it?

Just having a ginger tea, had a harvesters for lunch as I was hankering for their salad bar but the salad bar at this one was awful! I was gutted and I couldn't enjoy it or my main meal, this pregnancy had made everything taste either bland or just not right iykwim?

Number4OnTheWay · 04/09/2016 15:48

Yes to the mucus plug forming. You can actually loose the plug many times during pregnancy, it rejuvenates itself when you loose a little bit. I really don't think it's anything to worry about.
Can'tmake it got really bad in the 3rd tri with dd1, but with dd2 wasn't so bad....maybe I'm having another girl?!

Esker · 04/09/2016 16:47

So happy to hear about the healthy heartbeats from today's scans.

How lovely to get some reassurance Jpeg after all your worry earlier in the week.

Luchi so pleased you have a little heartbeat in there. How confusing about the other sac... I hope you have some luck getting another scan and some clarity very soon!

MonkeyArms · 04/09/2016 16:51

Does anyone else worry for absolutely no reason at all that their pregnancy isn't going to turn out all right? Had my booking in this week and all the time the MW was talking about what post natal support I had locally, I just felt this real urge to tell her that none of it mattered because I wouldnt get there anyway. I have no symptoms at all to make me worry. Maybe just subconsciously trying to protect myself ahead of 12 week scan in a couple of weeks .

SharkBastard · 04/09/2016 16:57

Hey Monkey, I haven't even arranged a booking in appointment yet and I'm 7 weeks today. I feel like it's all just going to come crashing down around me!

Have you no symptoms at all? How many weeks are you? Is this your first pregnancy?

It's a very limbo time...too scared to get excited, but that little bit of hope hangs in there which is scary

hummingbird100 · 04/09/2016 17:19

I feel just the same Monkey and Shark. I guess I should ring the mw this week as she said to call her the first week in September to sort my booking appointment but I kind of don't want to.

I've eaten all day. A Domino's, many MANY packets of cheese puffs, a tub of cottage cheese, and loads of Chewits. Sure my stomach will appreciate digesting all that.

SussexTeacher · 04/09/2016 17:23

I had my booking appointment at 10+1 so don't worry if you haven't had it yet. Mine was only on thursday.

I then have my scan next Tuesday.... Crapping my pants already as its my first pregnancy and I haven't had an early one.

Good luck everyone going back to school tomorrow. I've got an INSET which is great... Just hoping I don't need to be sick whilst the headteacher is talking!

abeandhalo · 04/09/2016 17:37

I'm in awe of all the women on here doing this with one or two kids to look after already - this is my first time & I feel so awful I can barely look after myself.

I've been pretty lucky as I just managed to do a 2 week holiday & it didn't stop me doing too much, but I'm now very much over feeling sick ALL THE TIME.

Got my midwife app tomorrow to take my bloods, pretty nervous about all of it as when I saw my GP just after I tested positive he said my blood pressure was too high, which I've never had before, & if it still is too high they're going to have to treat me for it. Wondering whether that might be part of the reason I feel so ill though.

At least I feel positive about having the baby now as for the first few weeks I had really mixed feelings, which kind of surprised me as it was planned.

Niks2026 · 04/09/2016 17:41

Fantastic news on the scans ladies. Luchi hope you get a referral for another just to confirm exactly what's happening.
Jpeg glad you and DH have made up.

I'm also feeling low, never had this at all with my other pregnancies. I think it's a combination of the summer holidays being over, back to work/school/nursery routine and the anxiety of having 3 little people! We will now be outnumbered! I didn't have any nausea or sickness with my 2 girls either so I'm finding that a bit difficult to cope with. Thankfully DH is a massive help and my girls (6&3) are quite happy playing babies or barbies if I'm not feeling well.
I've got Drs Wednesday which is such a waste of an appointment. I basically tell him I'm pregnant, he calculates my due date (which I roughly know anyway) to then tell me to see the girls at the desk and leave my details in this midwife book and one will be in contact.
I'm hoping not to tell work until at least October half term....ill be around 14/15 weeks. If I can hide it that long Confused

Hayls17 · 04/09/2016 18:01

I'm with you ladies worrying for no reason! Normal symptoms, no bleeding, no history of mc but in still fearing the worst. I want to get really excited but I have to stop myself. Got growing pains today again, they did come for a few days last week and then stopped. I know it's normal but every little ache or twinge I'm worrying!

MumiTravels · 04/09/2016 18:44

Sorry there's so many of you feeling low. I think it's only natural with that many hormones whizzing around. I'm feeling okay at the moment but suffered after DS1 was born, it took me months to feel like myself again. I wish I'd seen someone professional though but I felt ashamed. From the outside I looked like a really chilled out cool and collected mum but I didn't feel like me. I put so much pressure on myself with breastfeeding too that something that should be amazing got me down. I did it but never enjoyed it and never relaxed with feeding.

I think it all becomes a bit less stressful when you can start telling people so you don't feel like you're constantly hiding from people and even if it's little white lies about not drinking etc it still doesn't feel nice.

I'm hoping to go on my holiday at end of October then tell people once I'm back but I've got a pot belly by the end of the day now so not sure how long that plan will last.

Does anyone know the normal Schedule for scans in the uk? When do you get them? I only had twenty weeks of knowing I was pregnant with DS1 so don't really know the normal, only the whistle stop tour.

Cazbg · 04/09/2016 18:45

I have decided worrying is basically another symptom of being pregnant which isn't documented Smile

I am really bored now of the nausea and the tiredness (running after a 2 year old is making it even worse especially a 2 year old who seems to know mummy is tired and therefore must b extremely difficult).

DH tries his best but I don't think they quite get how draining it is plus the lack of sex drive is not helping (just can't bring myself..)

Really glad scans went well and hope the strange results have them resolved (how do you bold names?)

We have a scan on Wednesday (3rd scan) which hopefully will show heartbeat again and a 9wk - this is when I miscarried last time so a bit anxious.

jpeg28 · 04/09/2016 18:52

Hope your scan goes well Cazbag (for a bold name put a * either side!)
I don't know how you have a 2yo as well! I'm not coping with looking after myself... And I don't feel like sex either! We have only dtd once since we found out I'm pg! I'm just so exhausted!

Sorry to everyone feeling low... It's such a hard time emotions wise... No one tells you that it will be like this!

Number4OnTheWay · 04/09/2016 19:15

Cazbag I also have a 2 yo and I agree it's so hard. DS likes to jump and bounce on me and I just feel like I'm pushing him away all the time :(

Mumi, normal scans are at 12 weeks then at 20 weeks and if you need a growth scan it'll be done at 36 weeks. If you are consultant led you may get extra scans at consultant appointments, but this is uniform across the country.
