I don't know what I'm doing but seen the message saying another thread was needed. I don't know what to add to this but though.

Erm. I'm Derek btw. 35 week on Thursday and due 6/10/16

Sorry but I have no idea what I'm doing 😂

Same to you too tea!

I am hopeful baby makes an appearance before the appointment TBH

Some more crampy pains this evening, two in the last half hour. Pressure on pubic bone too. Seems to be a daily occurrence now

positivity123 · 04/10/2016 19:29

Just been for a tour of the delivery suite at the hospital and it all looks good. There are a few birthing pools and all the midwives seem nice and friendly.
Waiting is so weird I feel like I'm gearing up for a big race or something but just don't know when it will be! I'm due on 12th and I reckon it will be 16th.

DerekSprechenZeDick · 04/10/2016 19:40

Tours?! I don't see them Til I turn up

OP posts:
Afreshstartplease · 04/10/2016 19:42

I never had a tour with any of mine

It was offered with DC1, but I couldn't be arsed .

Figgygal · 04/10/2016 20:36

I did one with ds figure not that much could have changed since.

Due date has passed with no action sweep next Wednesday to look forward to I guess

positivity123 · 04/10/2016 20:42

I was surprised it was offered but yeah they let you go and have a look round so you feel like you know what you are going into. It was good actually, felt like a pretty chilled out place. It only took 20 mins and it was good from my DH to see it as well.

DerekSprechenZeDick · 04/10/2016 22:43

Shooting pains in my stomach. Anyone else have them??

Afreshstartplease · 05/10/2016 08:50

Any news this morning Derek?

38 weeks today , earliest born baby so far was 38+2....

Kariana · 05/10/2016 10:24

Second attempt at turning tomorrow! I've been offered a tour too but I feel I'm in limbo, I have no desire to think or consider anything about a natural birth as in my head I'm now going to end up with a CS and I hate planning for things that won't happen. I'm even struggling with the idea that I'll be at home with a baby to be honest, I feel terribly like it's not going to happen and think at this point a CS might be good just for the sake of my mental state!

In the interests of being more positive, what small things are you most looking forward to after birth? Obviously meeting baby and getting rid of various pains and heart burn probably come top, but what about other smaller things that you didn't realise you'd miss? I think mine are:

  • being able to stand at the kitchen counters without a bump in the way
  • being able to sit back comfortably without having to lean forward all the time
  • actually being able to squeeze through gaps by turning sideways again, rather than realising it no longer works because of a giant bump sticking out
  • rolling onto my stomach in bed
  • no more itching! Grin
DerekSprechenZeDick · 05/10/2016 10:24

None... I even slept well!

omg kariana EVERYTHING on your list plus being able to eat all the banned foods. I've already told DH i want to go for sushi and a good steak once LO arrives! Aaaand soft cheeses!

positivity123 · 05/10/2016 11:43

Mine are

  • not waking myself up snoring
  • having a larger
  • wearing jeans
and sorry to lower the tone but I just want a bit of nice sex. I know that won't be for a while yet. The baby was moving so much last night from 4am and it actually hurt. It went on for 3 hours so I feel quite rubbish today.
ThinkOfAWittyNameLater · 05/10/2016 11:48

Just this morning I realised I was longing for nice knickers. Nothing fancy, although that would be nice too, but getting some nice, normal knickers that aren't the size of Africa. Bliss.

Also, tea. Pregnancy always makes it taste awful to me, and I miss it soooo much.

DerekSprechenZeDick · 05/10/2016 12:02

My stomach is making loud popping and clicking noises. Loud enough for them to be heard on a recording

OP posts:
LillianFullStop · 05/10/2016 15:49

that sounds very strange derek! did a quick google and other mum's have heard something similar!

Alwaysinahurrynow · 05/10/2016 17:49

We didn't get a tour here either, but having been twice before that didn't bother me.

Baby was born on Monday by ELCS at 8lbs 10oz. All was well and the op straightforward. I came home this afternoon, 48 hours after the op, overall experience was significantly better than my previous 2 EMCS (four hours of labour and 13 hours respectively).

Dizzy08 · 05/10/2016 18:09

I've had strange popping/clicking every now and then for weeks - sounds like knuckles cracking it's a little disturbing but when I googled it it wasn't clear if it's my ribs or the baby's joints. But he doesn't seem to have got too upset about it as he isn't making great attempts to leave the cramped home he is occupying! Are the happening a lot Derek?

No tour of the birth center here either but there is a utube video of the birth unit so that's something I guess.

I went for a sweep yesterday (39+3) and been having a bit of bleeding since which I hope is normal but it's quite unnerving! Anyone had much experience of the after effects of sweeps? It dies seem to have got him shifting anyway. Try again next week I guess!

I can't wait to be able to sleep on my stomach and start walking properly again to shift the weight gain.. also really looking forward to a glass of prosecco, but I guess the timing of that will depend how well I get on with breastfeeding!

DerekSprechenZeDick · 05/10/2016 18:39

It happened for about 2 hours on and off today.

I video'd it, I'd upload here if could. Proper weird it was

Thanks

LillianFullStop · 05/10/2016 18:59

I'm due for a sweep in 2 weeks at 39+1 too dizzy so curious to know what to expect re: procedure and bleeding after.

congrats always! glad to hear you're home now and CS was straightforward!

Dizzy08 · 05/10/2016 20:33

To me it was on a par with the discomfort of a smear. I know some people say they don't feel anything when they have a smear so I'm guessing hopefully if you're lucky in that respect it'll be similar for the sweep. But whatever just try to stay as relaxed as you can and try to breathe through any discomfort. I bled straight away after which was a bit scary but apparently normal. My advice is definitely wear a panty liner when you go if you are lucky enough to not already be routinely doing so!! But try not to worry about it. I'm going with as long as the little is still moving and kicking around he must be ok!

AngharadTheSplendid · 05/10/2016 22:22

Congratulations Always!

Yes yes to lying on front, non gigantic knickers, wine, pizza (I have GD) and being able to peel an orange without getting out of breath.

39 weeks now and my doc wants me to be induced tomorrow but the hospital just called and said they're v busy so I'm on 'standby' and they'll call and let me know if they can fit me in. So I could be having a baby tomorrow. I also could not! Just wish I knew. Will improve my chances by not finishing packing my bag and making sure I look like shit tomorrow for any post birth photos.

Afreshstartplease · 06/10/2016 07:52

Ah I wish I knew I was possibly having my baby today

I feel slightly achey but I was holding my wee in bed so think it's self inflicted

38+1

Fraggleface · 06/10/2016 08:14

Congrats to the new mums!

40 + 2 today. Sweep at noon. Fingers crossed...
