I don't know what I'm doing but seen the message saying another thread was needed. I don't know what to add to this but though.

Erm. I'm Derek btw. 35 week on Thursday and due 6/10/16

Sorry but I have no idea what I'm doing 😂

Congrats havetobe! She's gorgeous! And boots is probably the best place to have your waters break with all the stuff you need right there hehe

So I finished work on Friday and 37w today. I think LO got the memo because the fanny daggers have gotten RIDICULOUS this weekend. Really stops me in my tracks now and have moved on from uncomfortable to painful. Been extra tired and sleepy too. So glad I don't have to go to work this week!!!

DerekSprechenZeDick · 02/10/2016 20:57

Fanny daggers are the worst!

I've got a weird popping sensation in my side and I don't know if it's just her living or not

They are the worst derek - this is the first baby for me and I'd like to know how fanny daggers compare to contractions on the pain scale!

popping feeling? Could be hiccups?

DerekSprechenZeDick · 02/10/2016 22:22

I never had the daggers with my son.

Contractions are better as you know the end is near. Fanny daggers are just there for no apparent reason

Huge congratulations havetobe! She is absolutely gorgeous! How many weeks were you when she came? i hope these first days are going well and you're all settling in happily together!

Blueskygirl30 · 03/10/2016 07:06

How's everyone doing today? I was just catching back up on the thread.

Sorry if I annoy anyone who's fed up of waiting for their baby, I hope that you're not waiting to much longer.

My baby boy decided it was time to arrive last Tuesday morning at 38+4. I had lower back ache during the day and a couple of contractions mid arvo but thought they were Braxon Hicks. I finally figured it possibly was actual labour so went in he arrived about 4hrs after I got to hospital, so fairly quick.

For those of you worried about big babies from scans/measurements, my baby was showing 50th percentile the whole pregnancy from both measurements and scans and he ended up being 5th percentile and 8oz lighter than the scan estimate from 4 days previous.

Blueskygirl30 · 03/10/2016 07:09

Havetobe congratulations on the birth of your daughter, she's gorgeous.

Afreshstartplease · 03/10/2016 07:44

Congratulations bluesky!

I don't find the birth announcements annoying! It's lovely to hear of safe arrivals

Nickname1980 · 03/10/2016 08:41

Congruuatons bluesky!

I love the birth announcements! It's so exciting.

It's so funny how they get the size estimates so wrong. My baby has been showing 50th percentile all the way, but my bump is much, much bigger than my other DS (who was 50th) so I do wonder!

LillianFullStop · 03/10/2016 08:46

Congratulations bluesky!! Hope you and bub are doing well and wow for the 4 hour labour! Is this your first?

positivity123 · 03/10/2016 08:50

Congratulations Bluesky! Sounds like the birth was a good one. Hope you are enjoying newborn cuddles!

Blueskygirl30 · 03/10/2016 09:12

Lillian, yes, he's my first. I was rather suprised i progressed so quickly. I don't know if this has anything to do with it but I'd been drinking a mug of raspberry leaf tea almost everyday since 36 weeks, it's said it tones your uterus and encourages a quicker labour, no idea if that's what did it but if I have another baby I would definitely be drinking that tea again!

Tallblue · 03/10/2016 09:25

Congratulations on all the new arrivals so far, it's lovely to hear about all these babies arriving safe and sound!

I'm 37+6 and baby's head 'floating freely' so I think I have a long way to go yet. DC1 arrived at 37+4 so this is the most pregnant I've ever been. I'm on weekly checks with my doctor and hoping for news of some progress at my appointment tomorrow.

Bluesky I've been drinking the tea and I hope it has the same effect!

Where I live, there seems to be no attempt to plot centiles and predict the size of the baby so I have no idea if this is a big or small one.

Kariana good luck with the second attempt at turning, I'm not sure I'd be brave enough for that and I salute you for cracking on with it. I'm a real wimp!

Afreshstartplease · 03/10/2016 09:37

I have a scan next week if I'm still pregnant.....I'd rather have had my baby TBH!

My last baby was 8.6 born on 95th percentile but I'm currently measuring on the 50th so I have no idea what size to expect now! Although baby feels big to me my bump is just all baby.

The smallest clothes I have are up to 10lb and I have very few of those because my 8.6 baby was long are barely squashed into them! If this baby comes out dinky I may have to go and invest in some smaller clothes!

LillianFullStop · 03/10/2016 09:46

Thanks bluesky! I've been drinking a mug every day since 36w too so hopefully my labour will be just as effective. Enjoy your newborn cuddles! Star Star

I'm going to try maternity reflexology this week too - apparently meant to help relax and tone the uterus rather than induce labour. Then I have a sweep booked for 2 weeks from now at 39w - I am hoping I won't make it that far! Come on baby!

AngharadTheSplendid · 03/10/2016 11:08

Lovely news Havetobe and Bluesky! Congratulations to you both on the safe arrivals of your little ones. Love hearing the birth announcements/stories Smile.

Kariana · 03/10/2016 12:48

Congratulations havetobecrazy and bluesky! Lovely news about your babies' safe arrivals.

I think my baby has now decided that the most comfy place is in the gap left by my poor split abdominal muscles. He has wedged himself in there leaving me with a massive lump right in the middle of my stomach. Even dh was alarmed to see the size of it sticking out!

DerekSprechenZeDick · 03/10/2016 16:12

Congratulations guys!

I had raspberry leaf tea today. It is rank...

I've had a few tightenings but not sure how real they are. Currently have pain in lower abdomen and back again.

OP posts:
Tallblue · 03/10/2016 16:32

Ha ha Derek that's the word for it- rank!!

LillianFullStop · 03/10/2016 17:46

DerekSprechenZeDick · 03/10/2016 17:49
