Congratulations BabyDriver2

sorkycake · 07/02/2007 10:42

Simply losing the will to live.
Cadbury your post on TR's thread is exactly what's going on with me . Hope you're having better luck today sweetie x

Cadbury · 07/02/2007 10:58

Oh Sorky! Not you too - this is soooo frustrating. I've done all my ironing in an attempt to let gravity work some magic.

sorkycake · 07/02/2007 11:06

Did it all yesterday. The nip stim thing caused such strong contractions I really thought that it was coming within the hour, convinced the level of pain I was in equated to at least 7 cm dilated! Checked my cervix this morning and sweet f*ck all. (sorry)
I started contracting mildly about 10.30am and got progressively stronger until about 7pm when I needed to take some paracetamol and lie down with a hot water bottle between my legs. All stopped within an hour and I fell asleep exhausted.
Dh had to cook his own tea and put kids to bed. I'm feeling so guilty about the lack of play I'm able to do with them as well.
I really need this baby out now and have started to consider an induction in hospital even tho' I swore I wouldn't do it. I haven't even turned up for the ante-natal appt this morning, I mean really, what's the point?
Sorry if I sound ranty, but I think this maybe my lowest day of the pg.

hairycaterpillar · 07/02/2007 11:25

OH wow! Babies...CONGRATULATIONS Becs and BD2!!

Sorry youre feeling so low cadbury and sorky, really hope things get going for you soon.

I'm only 38+5 (so really shouldnt be complaining) but already am desperate for this baby to come. I too feel so guilty as doing the minimal possible with ds and dd cause I'm so tired and uncomfortable.

Stupidly attempted Tesco shop this morning...gave up less than half way, I was so physically exhausted. Did manage to get massive pineapple reduced so here's hoping!

MoosMa · 07/02/2007 11:53

Congratulations BDtoo!

Hope you feel better soon cadbury and sorky (by better I mean several pounds lighter and holding babies!)

ja9 · 07/02/2007 12:06

hairycaterpiller - recommend online shop. i did it last night about 10pm and it was here by 10am this morning. it was a big one - stocking up on lots of meal things, washing powder etc, to make things a bit easier when bub arrives.
i hate shopping when preg - trolley too heavy and i go slower than norm so whole thing takes so much time and energy...

cadbury - disappointed you've not popped. hang in there...

my homebirth stuff was delivered this morning - 4 tanks of gas and air, baby scales and 2 huge boxes of midwifes stuff. midwifes go on call saturday, but i'm still keeping everthing crossed (ooh - that could be the problem!?) that it'll come b4 sat.

i'm still feeling crap. sick again this morning - only this time stomach was empty so now my insides are aching from all the wretching. . heartburn is so bad that i feel like it has burnt a hole inside me. and i'm munching pineapple like nobodys business to try and speed things along (which doesn't really go so well with the whole heartburn thing!!). so there you are!

Sallyallyally · 07/02/2007 12:12

Congrats BD

Been to see GP this morning as been coughing my lungs up for the last two weeks (caught it off DD!) Have been started on antibiotics...just what I wanted right now!! GP said cheerfully...yup...nasty chest infection..luckily not pneumonia ...yet!!! Yes..I feel lucky.

ja9 · 07/02/2007 12:21

oh sallyally that's all you need. sympathies

DontCallMeYummy · 07/02/2007 12:43

Hello Ladies (and increasingly large and wriggly bumps),
I've not been online for a while as I've just moved house and have been running round London getting the last of the essential accoutrements for the baby which I daresay will be putting, unused, into a charity shop-bound bag in a few months time. The Most Excited Granny To Be In The World (TM) has been keeping me informed as to your progress and of course all the early babies so if you ladies are still reading then congratulations and can I borrow your maternity trousers? Mine have been worn pretty much constantly for the past few weeks and are in danger of disintegrating with the first drop of broken waters.
Good Luck to all!

Tommy · 07/02/2007 13:37

dontcallmeyummy - IIRC I wore my maternity trousers for some months after DS2 was born so everyone might be holding on them for the forseeable future!

I met another woman who is due the same time as me this morning (at the swimming pool - no, I wasn't swimming - just watching DS2!) so we compared aches and pains. I think it might be a race now between the two of us - hey - it wasn't any of you was it?!

qsack · 07/02/2007 13:51

ja9 are you taking gaviscon for your heartburn. if not you can get it on prescription as it's quite expensive to buy. i got the doc to prescribe me some a couple of weeks ago 'cause the heartburn was so bad. x

andyrobo237 · 07/02/2007 14:02

Ooooh more babies!!!

Gaviscon is the pits! I have to wait until this time next week for my bundle of joy - just been to visit a friend with a 6 month old and I have that lovely baby smell on me! He is badly teething and is really miserable - forgot how much they can cry!!

Every day I log on hoping to find more babies - some regular posters are 'missing' so hopefully this is good!

andyrobo - thanks for doing the list again, but it really depresses me to see my name so far down the queue

i've just been to visit a pal and her 2 week old. and it freaked me out because he is massive!! only 8lbs, but looks huge when you think that we'll have to push one out that size. crikey! makes me even more desperate to get bub out before it grows anymore!!

gsack, i have been taken gaviscon (even tho' it makes me want to boak), but it's not having much effect . off for a glass of milk now - that'll supposedly soothe it.

snugglebumnappies · 07/02/2007 14:36

Congratulation Becs and Babydriver, I think you are making a lot of us very envious!

Sorky, sory to hear you are feeling so crappy, it gets so disappointing when those contractions seem to ammount to nothing but in my experience women who have suffered like that seem to have a very quick active labour when things really get going!

I agree with DCMY's ple for maternity trousers, I am now only comfortable in my jeans which are about to fall apart but can't justify paying for a pair to wear for another 2 weeks (hopefully!)

Sallyallyally · 07/02/2007 14:43

So...lots of snow forecast for tomorrow.Anyone up for making a snowman?

bunny3 · 07/02/2007 15:02

Congratulation Becs and Babydriver!!!

I've been having contractions all day, regular but mild. I would love to have this baby today, I am so uncomfortable. Booo.. And I had to have a glucose tolerance terst again this morning.

ooohh, just had another contraction ..

TuttiFrutti · 07/02/2007 15:07

Congrats to babydriver and becs! Somehow I have a feeling we can expect a few more announcments in the next few days, as a lot of people have gone quiet.

I went to see GP this morning and baby's head is now 2/5 engaged, which as it's a second baby apparently means it can only be a few days away. I really hope I can hold on till my booked c-section on Friday, as I have this mental vision of a calm, serene atmosphere - NOT like my last birth .

Have been getting steady pains all day, but not contractions, just constant backache and tummy pains like bad indigestion. Being pregnant is just no fun any more!

suzi2 · 07/02/2007 15:09

Oh Sorky - sending you hugs. My lovely contractions seem to like to kick off all night. Once again they were going last night - every 20 mins from 2am until I got up this morning. But nothing. Still can't find my cervix. Decided to be more active today. I'm in no hurry for baby, but I don't really want this niggling every night and no sleep.

For once it doesn't look like we're getting the snow here. We're usually prone to being snowed in and sods law would suggest that would happen when I'm in labour. At least I have G&A at home - only 2 canisters though, not sure that's enough!

peachygirl · 07/02/2007 15:34

Hi everyone. Sorry to hear about all your aches and pains and illnesses. Dh has terrible cold so I slept on the sofa last night. I know it should have been the other way round but at the moment I can't be bothered to argue about it. I'd rather I just got on with it all, likewise the big shop I did today.
My friend who had the very long baby a couple of weeks ago came to visit which was great, we had a nice cuddle an a lovely chat and my cat was very interested - very wide eyed!!
Also had last visit to midwife who didn't know about all the breech stuff she felt that the baby may have moved as she couldn't believe the big lump at the top of my bump could be all head. I told her everything I had been told and she said it probably was still breech but it would be interesting to know. I thought I might ask at the foetal assessment unit on tues when I see the Anesthetist, if they are not busy she said they might scan me. which ever way it is it is 4/5th engaged.

marmitemad · 07/02/2007 16:03

Hi everyone,
just back from 39 week mw appointment, blood pressure high, so now have to go into dau to be checked, hope it improves as I really don't want to stay in tonight or be induced. was going to meet friends for a drink tonight as well,

Plumpbump · 07/02/2007 16:16

CONGRATULATIONS Mummytojake, Becs, Titchy and Babydriver and BEST OF LUCK to you ladies in labour as we speak! So exciting!

And guess what....we're home from SCBU!!! Jacob came home on Sunday - he's still got his naso-gastric tube in as we're topping up his breast milk feeds with NutriPrem formula, but he's doing well. He's now 6 pound 1, so we're going in the right direction! Very happy (and very tired)!!!

Hopefully not long now for you all, thinking of you, xxx

sorkycake · 07/02/2007 16:18

Woohoo! Pb that's fantastic news!

MoosMa · 07/02/2007 16:19

TF, my LO has been 2/5 engaged for weeks now and it's my 2nd, so I shouldn't believe your doc!

Snugglebum, I emailed you via your website about an order, did I do it right?

I'm feeling a bit more comfy today, I think LO may have shifted to my left side, but as she hasn't wriggled much today (I get most movement in the evening/night) I can't tell too well. I look a more normal shape though and feel more normal. Ironic if she has moved, I spent most of last night on my back or right side. Have I just disproved the whole theory of OFP?

MoosMa · 07/02/2007 16:20

Oh I cross posted PB, happy to hear Jacob's home, it must a big relief for you!
