Starting a fresh new thread for us!

I think Fedup asked about Elderberries and if anyone had heard from her... I haven't seen her name pop up in a while, but I'm not on the FB group either. I've been wondering the same about almondbutter, haven't seen her on here for a while now and know she was really suffering with sickness.

Old not only

bobcat85 · 03/11/2016 13:04

Congratulations Salem, lovely to hear about all the babies arriving.

Had a pregnancy reflexology session today, would definitely recommend it. Was very relaxing and think I actually fell asleep for a bit during it.

Fedupithink · 03/11/2016 19:53

I see Iona thanks for explaining - there is so much to understand with this whole process, it's equally fascinating and terrifying! Hope you don't have to spend too long in hospital.

I've had a bit of a treat today with a spa day, was lovely and I'm feeling very chilled this evening. I can deffo recommend it.

tiredmumrighthere · 03/11/2016 21:21

Sorry but need to have a moan!!

10 days until due date and quite frankly I've had enough..
Got huge piles (sorry tmi),horrendous heartburn every night all night! My pelvis is in bits, got a trapped nerve in my groin which is sooooo painful, living off no sleep, up all night needing a wee, tired and just feeling emotional all the time! I really do need to just feel comfortable now I've had enough Sad

Fedupithink · 04/11/2016 15:57

I'm so sorry Tired I think I hit that wall about a week ago. It does get better.

I think the sheer lack of sleep over the weeks/months is now forcing my body to sleep at least for part of the night and even on 2/3 hours I feel 100 times better.

the heartburn has remained tho, it's awful. People keep telling me to enjoy this period - yeah right! But as least its just me pottering around in the day, I really sympathise with you having children to look after too.

It's all a bit shit isn't it this last bit? Cake for you!

I've spent today cleaning and sorting so really hoping this is some kind of sign although I've had no Braxton hicks or pains or anything. I think she is in it for the long haul. My inlaws have now taken to daily phone calls - No, I have not had the baby and not told you. No, I'm not having any twinges or signs in the last 24 hours since you last asked. Argh!

EllieM22 · 04/11/2016 16:16

fedup that sounds very irritating! Ive not had too much but MIL keeps calling me because she thinks I'm bored/lonely when actually I have so much to do to prepare but feel rude chucking her off the phone! And it always ends with "you're on the countdown now, X days to go.." so I have to remind her my due date is just an estimate!

Spottyladybird · 04/11/2016 18:56

Haha, I paused while on the phone to my mum last night and she was all 'are you ok? Are you having a contraction?'

I feel like if my bump drops any lower it'll hit my knees! Everything aches. Today DD had a tantrum while we were out and I had to carry her out. I could have cried, everything that could be sore was and just got 100x worse.

tiredmumrighthere · 04/11/2016 19:07

fedup I have my MIL text me all day everyday asking how I feel and if I'm getting any twinges! I'm sick of people asking me how long I have left from the cashier in tesco to friends on fb, or them asking if it's my first and when I say no 5th they ask what I've got already Confused I feel to wear a big sign with all those answers on Hmm

Fedupithink · 04/11/2016 20:29

Ahh yes the random strangers - receptionist at the spa yesterday, the Tesco till person, EVERYONE I pass when walking the dog, couriers, the postman!

We should get t-shirts made!
Yes, very pregnant
Next Saturday
It's a girl
Yes I'm very neat/big (delete as req)
No names yet
No twinges
Yes, I'll put up a sign when she arrives

tiredmumrighthere · 04/11/2016 21:06

Lol fedup that's exactly how it is! I'm so done with repeating myself, I feel to stay indoors so I don't have to see anyone Confused

Talking of names..I just read out a list of names to DP and he shot down every single one! We can't agree on anything Hmm

Spottyladybird · 04/11/2016 21:43

What pisses me off is the randoms who feel they can comment on how you look:
You look great/ tired/ shattered
You look ready to drop/ your bump is still so high
You'll be having that baby early/ late

And....
Have you tried:
Raspberry leaf tea
Bouncing
Curry
Cobbled streets
Pineapple
Sex
Etc

I just want to say 'actually, yes. I've been eating curried pineapple while drinking raspberry leaf tea and having sex on my birthing ball!'

Fedupithink · 04/11/2016 22:55

We can't agree either Tired our shortlist is about 9 but we each have one favourite and won't shift! I'm hoping after labour he'll let me choose though guilt!

Yes Spotty! I have told my DH im not going to visit the inlaws anymore - last weekend a quick visit with his parents included his two older sisters and their husbands. 6 adults (plus us) discussing how high/low bump was, where is gained weight and why and discussing the validity of our choice to use the birth centre - we were not involved in these conversations they just sort of happened around us!

JadeT2 · 04/11/2016 23:19

Glad I'm not the only one fed up! Someone in front of me in a queue today was asking me all the usual questions for about 5 minutes. I know they all mean well but it sure is tiring!

TryingNotToWaddle · 05/11/2016 00:14

Ditto here! The worst one for me is "he'll come when he's ready"

No goddamit he will come now!!!

Anyway my due dates today... I'm still having a show roughly three weeks later Hmm... contractions have been happening for weeks too and the bellys very low. No sign of baby though Confused

So far I've tried pineapple eating... birth ball bouncing... clary sage rubbing and bathing... raspberry leaf tea drinking... long walking... stair climbing...

I'm now just resigned to the fact I'll probably be pregnant forever.

Stretchedfortime · 06/11/2016 21:32

Well, we've been in hospital for 5 days and still nothing. Have had a propess and pessaries but nothing doing. We've been waiting 7 hours for the next intervention and starting to lose it a bit tonight. So I'm definitely in the fed up brigade too!

JadeT2 · 06/11/2016 21:51

Stretched that sounds awful..!! What are the next steps for you now?

Stretchedfortime · 06/11/2016 22:31

It is really crap. Meant to have some kind of balloon inserted but we've been waiting since 2 for that to happen. It's really not the staff's fault - they've mostly been fantastic. But they are really stretched and I'm not an emergency. I think I may just ask for a caesarean tomorrow.

Spottyladybird · 07/11/2016 06:24

Poor you Stretched. You could ask to see the consultant to go through options, continuing to put your body under stress isn't going to be good for you or baby.

tiredmumrighthere · 07/11/2016 07:36

Ohhhh stretched that's crap! Bless you, hope the ball starts rolling soon for you Smile

Soooo 39 weeks today and feeling like I'm ready to pop! I need this baby to come this week because every inch of me hurts, I'm so tired Sad don't know how I'm gonna find the energy to give birth, seriously debating talking to my midwife today and asking to be induced or something! So uncomfortable and with four other kids to run around after its no fun let me tell you, I can't even elevate my feet long enough for the swelling to go down Sad

Nearly there girls...

Stretchedfortime · 07/11/2016 10:36

They've agreed to a caesarean this afternoon, thank god. Really glad this ordeal will be over soon. Wish I had spoken up earlier now about the crazy delays in everything. The consultant and midwife supervisor did both apologise and it seemed very genuine, which helped a lot.

tiredmumrighthere · 07/11/2016 11:21

Oh how exciting stretched good luck Smile

bobcat85 · 07/11/2016 12:47

Good luck Stretched, runnish that it took them so long to sort. Must be really exciting for you know you'll be meeting your baby soon.

38+6 today and been getting a lot of sharp pains in my cervix, baby feels really low but as I'm quite short it's hard to tell if my bump has dropped. Went for a very cold walk this morning hoping it will help things along a little bit. Can't believe that I'll be 40 weeks next Tuesday, hoping baby makes an appearance soon.

bobcat85 · 07/11/2016 12:48

Runnish! I meant rubbish, annoying phone.

RuskBaby · 07/11/2016 13:48

Pleased for you stretched hope your little one is soon in your arms.

Ionacat · 07/11/2016 15:33

Ooh Stretched, hope you now have a gorgeous bundle in your arms.

I'm now in hospital until my section on Friday thanks to the unstable lie. Very peaceful and quiet at the moment. Three more full days of pregnancy left and I'm looking forward to actually being with it with this birth rather than out of it and exhausted which happened last time.
