Starting a fresh new thread for us!

I think Fedup asked about Elderberries and if anyone had heard from her... I haven't seen her name pop up in a while, but I'm not on the FB group either. I've been wondering the same about almondbutter, haven't seen her on here for a while now and know she was really suffering with sickness.

Yep MissO! Today I've had two bowls of Frosties, crumpets and jam, and half a packet of biscuits.

mrsdane · 21/10/2016 20:10

I have one word for you: Domino's.

MissObsessed · 21/10/2016 20:16

Thank heavens it's not just me. I can hear my conscience when I pass the fruit bowl to grab more toast/crisps/scones. The baby is going to be 95% carbs at this rate! Blush

Fedupithink · 21/10/2016 21:24

I cry everyday for ridiculous reasons. Today - my DH asked if I was ok. I cried, no idea why!

Miss my diet has turned to shit too. I seem to have got the nausea back so all I really want is carbs and I'm so tired from not sleeping I'm relying on sugar to get me through. I feel so guilty but like you I just cannot seem to help it.

helenatroy · 21/10/2016 21:28

Diet is also shot. Beyond caring now. Was all low carb this, no sugar and 5 a day that. So far have cried about 20 times today and have eaten

1 Ritter sport
1 a bar of dairy crunch
1 small potato
1 sausage of dubious origin

helenatroy · 21/10/2016 21:29

I'm going to have a pizza now and a glass of red wine. Don't even care.

AyeAmarok · 21/10/2016 22:24

Me too! I actually considered that the nausea might be labour coming on but it's been over a week now and no other symptoms, so seems not!

TryingNotToWaddle · 22/10/2016 00:04

Ooh I'm dribbling thinking about red wine now Wine

Today I had an onken yoghurt and a jar of olives for dinner Confused

Spottyladybird · 22/10/2016 09:04

I like to think that I'm like a marathon runner and the carb loading is just getting me ready for the big event!

AyeAmarok · 22/10/2016 09:14

Spotty, I read somewhere recently (think it was on my app) that your body burns 50,000 calories in a typical labour Shock

That is just such an incomprehensible number to me! Even a marathon is a tenth of that.

So yes, carb-loading might be completely necessary!

Spottyladybird · 22/10/2016 09:17

Super excuse anyway!

Seriously though, I did read that you must up your water intake so you're hydrated for birth and labour (and beyond!)

MuffyTheUmpireSlayer · 22/10/2016 09:20

50,000! I feel far less guilty about those 3 slices of toasted white bread smothered in butter and Nutella that I've just devoured now then Grin

Fedupithink · 22/10/2016 11:27

Glad I'm not the only one Aye nobody told me it could come back, I thought I'd passed all that.

I absolutely MUST pack my hospital bag today, I'm 37 weeks and although stuff is near the bag and I've washed all the baby things it's not been packed. Shameful!

EllieM22 · 22/10/2016 16:42

37 weeks now and I had (sorry TMI!) diarrhoea last night and I threw up this morning. Then baby went crazy and bounced up and down on my cervix for hours. Was all excited but seems to have all fizzled out again...

Ionacat · 22/10/2016 18:21

Hmmm carbs and dominos! We went to the pub for lunch at DD's request and had a rather good local burger and chips. I'm starting to re-stock our freezer on preparation lots of casseroles, pasta sauces etc. so hopefully I might eat better this week. (Everything has lots of hidden veg as DD isn't keen on vegetables but with lots of pulses which she loves.) Sausage cassolet is beginning to smell good, I may have to have a bowlful later with some bread that DH made in the breadmaker earlier. Mmmmm

RosyP13 · 22/10/2016 18:35

Iona I'm impressed you have energy for cooking., I had such good intentions of batch cooking and freezing but haven't made a thing; I just want chocolate and crisps all the time!
Lots of crying here too, every day, for no reason.
Only three more days til my c-section. Scared but can't wait to meet baby!

Fedupithink · 22/10/2016 22:23

Ooh that's exciting Rosy!

I'm wishing I had some certainty about when it was all going to happen just so I can plan. Every twinge I think is the start and then I panic that I'm not ready.

tiredmumrighthere · 22/10/2016 22:52

Evening all,

Was back at the hospital today with contractions in my back that have been happening since last night, woke up this morning leaking fluid, waited until 3pm then went in as the pain was getting so bad it was breath taking, they monitored me and could see the contractions that I was getting, waited ages to see the doctor who used a spectrum to see if anything was happening and she said the neck of my womb was closed and that I had thrush again, she gave me another canesten pessary and sent me home at 6! I've been getting intense pain since I got home I'm so exhausted and fed up with being in constant pain! My pelvis is killing me and walking is so painful! If I have this baby at home then so be it as I'm sick of going to the hospital now Sad I feel like no one listens to me when I tell them about the pain because I've been to the hospital so many times lately and been sent home that no one believes me Sad sorry for the rant but I'm fed right up!!

DuckWaddle · 23/10/2016 07:07

Oh you poor thing tired- you're having a terrible time. It sounds like baby will arrive soon though! Are you post 37 weeks now? Are you able to rest now or is the pain too bad?

tiredmumrighthere · 23/10/2016 08:17

Duck, I'm 37w tomorrow so still classed pre term until then, all my others were born early (one at 36w) so really anything could happen any day really! Doctor told me though because she's my 5th the head normally doesn't engage until labour starts because everything is looser they Bob in and out so that's why I'm feeling so much pressure.

I feel much better this morning, no tightening/cramps yet but pain is still there when I walk/stand we are off car shopping today so I'll be sitting down most of the day x

Stretchedfortime · 23/10/2016 17:22

If anyone wants a bit of light relief, I've been reading the humiliating birth stories thread. The funniest one I think is the top of this page by pixwix. Hope you find it as funny as I did. www.mumsnet.com/Talk/childbirth/a1592682-Child-birth-humiliations?pg=7&order=

needanewjob · 23/10/2016 20:09

Oh my dear god! Stretched I'm howling! I'm on pg no 3 and can honestly say so far no poo issues lol! Obvs am now v paranoid after reading some of these howlers!

EllieM22 · 23/10/2016 20:38

This has made my day, thank you!!

Terrified of farting in someone's face now though

Stretchedfortime · 23/10/2016 21:04

I'm so glad you both enjoyed them. Think we all need some cheering up at this stage!

Spottyladybird · 23/10/2016 21:29

I remember reading that thread before and think I shared some of my birth story on there. Very funny bits but ultimately farting will be the least of your worries!
