Starting a fresh new thread for us!

I think Fedup asked about Elderberries and if anyone had heard from her... I haven't seen her name pop up in a while, but I'm not on the FB group either. I've been wondering the same about almondbutter, haven't seen her on here for a while now and know she was really suffering with sickness.

Thanks for the fan advice Bolly, I've bought one as well as some cooling spray.

Great news on the results TiredMum.

I've packed my hospital bag, just need husband to pack some stuff but I'm sure he'll leave it till the last moment.

Spent most the day cleaning the house and sorting out the food cupboards in the kitchen. Now feeling achy. Can't believe that I'm 36 weeks tomorrow.

JadeT2 · 17/10/2016 18:13

I've not heard of evening primrose before Ellie I bought some raspberry tea bags but wasn't too keen on the flavour so may give the tablets a go instead.

Our Mamas and Papas delivery arrived today so have the pram, car seat and moses ready to go. Most of our washing is done now too (thanks to my wonderful mum!) so it's just a case of finding a home for everything now, and a tip run with thousands of boxes!

tp15 · 17/10/2016 21:23

I've just got some raspberry leaf tea, some essential oils to sniff during labour and some grape seed oil for hubby to massage me with!
What does evening primrose do? X

EllieM22 · 17/10/2016 21:42

I have heard it helps to ripen the cervix!! Have a google there are loads of threads about it but i'm not sure and wanted to ask someone who had used it!

Spottyladybird · 17/10/2016 22:32

I've read that it's positive from 36w on. Some people suggest 1000mg orally and 1000mg inserted vagianally. Think I'll do some more reading.

Gembear25 · 18/10/2016 07:52

Pregnancy hit a new low last night when the heartburn got so bad that I threw up my dinner and it turns out that being violently sick at 38 weeks pregnant makes you wet yourself Confused - I'm so ready for this baby to be out now!
Got a provisional date for elcs of 27th October but waiting on a call from the hospital today to confirm!

RuskBaby · 18/10/2016 09:21

Oh Gem been there Blush it's so wonderfully amazing being pregnant and something like that happens just to keep you grounded.
Fingers crossed for the 27th, will they let you know soon?

salemtheteenagecat · 18/10/2016 10:14

Oh...my period cramps haven't disappeared at all! Everyone keeps telling me to ring someone to check? But I don't think there contractions there is no pattern there is no clutching like I imagine. Everyone I have spoken to have said you will definitely know when your contractions starts.

Any advice? I am in bed and just feel exactly like I do when I am on my period -have not missed this at all!

tapismagique · 18/10/2016 11:25

Sorry to hear that, Salem. I had it too last week & like you didn't find much info online. At a regular midwife appointment they (usual mw + a trainee) shrugged & said it was one of those things. And now it's gone away. For me it was intermittent - a few hours of pain, then ok for a day, then more pain etc. If it's constant for you maybe ring the MFAU? The phone number should be on your folder

DuckWaddle · 18/10/2016 11:39

Salem- in my last prefnancy I got period cramps for the real thing but def with contractions. I've had some cramping on and off over the last few months but they haven't lasted long. Sounds like yours are far worse though so it's prob best to speak to your MW? When I brought them up my MW wasn't worried and said prob pelvic pains (in absence of tightenings) - but mine didn't last long

salemtheteenagecat · 18/10/2016 12:02

I would say pain is more in waves then anything else not what I would call tightenings! I will give it another hour or so n give them a ring. I suppose the worst they will say is I am being silly lol x

EllieM22 · 18/10/2016 12:12

salem it doesn't hurt to call and they wont mind! And had this and they told me to come in, it was just random tightenings because i have an 'irritable uterus' but the midwife said often thats how labour starts (not in my case as cervix was extremely unfavourable) but you never know until you call!

Fedupithink · 18/10/2016 12:26

Maybe you're in early labour Salem? My midwife said it can last for days before anything really ramps up to contractions especially if it's your first?

salemtheteenagecat · 18/10/2016 13:05

Yeah I think I will ring and ask because I swear if someone else rings or texts me and says ah it won't be you know where you are I won't be responsible for my actions. Sat now crying because I don't know what to do with myself.

Bloody hormones!!

Spottyladybird · 18/10/2016 18:13

How are things now Salem?

salemtheteenagecat · 18/10/2016 21:08

All stopped ha! Thank you for asking! Feel a bit better and think it was a built of emotions! Midwife on Friday so will see what's going on then x

tiredmumrighthere · 18/10/2016 22:07

Anyone getting (sorry for the bluntness) extremely painful fanny stabbing pain! Blush honestly I keep jumping with the pain Confused

Just done a big order at mothercare and boots, trying to get the last of her bits so I can relax and stop panicking!

CocklesandMussels · 18/10/2016 22:15

Hi all, I hadn't posted for ages. things were ok apart from pelvic pain. Then my growth scan showed some changes in blood flow, and my blood pressure was going up, so in the end I had a section on Monday (36+3) One boy, one girl, both doing well. Little boy is a bit on the small side but other than that they are fine. Still in hospital, hoping to go home tomorrow. I'm still getting over the shock of having two little people to look after!
Good luck to everyone else Smile

JadeT2 · 18/10/2016 23:00

Congratulations Cockles! Hope everything goes well and you're not hanging around too much now!

LittleGreyCatwithapinkcollar · 18/10/2016 23:04

Huge congratulations cockles. Hoping you're home safe and sound tomorrow!

tiredmumrighthere · 19/10/2016 00:10

Congratulations cockles, wonderful news xx

Fedupithink · 19/10/2016 00:32

Ahh congratulations Cockles! So pleased you are all doing well and hope you get to go home soon.

RuskBaby · 19/10/2016 09:19

Congratulations cockles

tired not often but had one yesterday whilst driving that was pretty intense.

MuffyTheUmpireSlayer · 19/10/2016 09:53

Wow congratulations cockles! It's all really happening now, isn't it!

Yes tired I'm having them too, as well as being so uncomfortable around the area where (I think) my cervix is that I walking is really difficult! I keep on convincing myself and DP that it's labour - I don't know how to tell when it's the actual thing! (Despite this being me second child - the first feels like a very long time ago...)

mrsdane · 19/10/2016 10:20

Congrats cockles, that's great news. You were exactly the same date wise as me, lovely to hear you're doing well.

Tired yes, so much yes. I can't tell what's potential period/start of things pain or PGP either. Probably should finish my hospital bag...
