Starting a fresh new thread for us!

I think Fedup asked about Elderberries and if anyone had heard from her... I haven't seen her name pop up in a while, but I'm not on the FB group either. I've been wondering the same about almondbutter, haven't seen her on here for a while now and know she was really suffering with sickness.

Good news Bolly! Fingers crossed for no induction.
Little Grey - hope your obstetrician sorts it for you.

I've just done my birth plan with the midwife and she told me despite being Vbac I can have a water birth if the pool is free and they'll monitor me every 15 minutes rather than continuous monitoring. Apparently that's not in the guidelines but the hospital and midwives are happy to go with it and I've been referred to the consultant midwife to make sure everything is clear in my notes for birth plan before I go into labour. That's so much better than I thought and the midwife is so positive about everything going well this time. Fingers crossed!

mrsdane · 12/10/2016 15:40

Great news Iona, I hope the pool is free on the day for you! You remind me, I should probably write a birth plan...

Glad you're more comfortable at home Bolly.

bobcat85 · 12/10/2016 16:26

Great that you got home Bolly, hope you don't need to get induced. Hope it all goes well and looking forward to updates.

Hope all gets sorted for you LittleGrey, can't believe they've been so rubbish considering all you're going through.

Good news Iona, fingers crossed that the pool is free for you.

Managed to get all my Christmas shopping done online today which is a massive relief. Hopefully I'll have time to get it wrapped and sorted before baby arrives. Had a thought that I should probably buy something for the baby for Christmas but that can wait until he's here. I also have no idea what to buy a newborn for Christmas.

Spottyladybird · 12/10/2016 16:43

We're going to do our Christmas shopping tomorrow and a date day too, might be the last for a while.

Seen MW today- baby's held is 3/5 palpable so that means 2/5 engaged which explains my waddling! 4 weeks until d day- argh!

Cailler · 13/10/2016 09:02

Hi All - you probably don't remember me as I don't think I've posted since the 1st or 2nd thread! But I'm still here, following along - due 22nd Nov with a surprise.

I saw a lovely idea on a thread the other day for Christmas presents for new babies- you each buy the baby something (probably something that they'll need in 6 or so months time) that the other parent knows nothing about so then you can exchange them on Christmas Day

Fedupithink · 14/10/2016 09:45

That's a lovely idea Cailler

We were thinking of doing a little gift to each other "from the baby" just something small and ideally sentimental to mark her first Christmas and our first as parents.

I've been looking at personalised Santa sacks and baby's first Christmas decorations too but don't want to actually buy until she is here.

Had my last London day yesterday for my leaving lunch. It was lovely, got lots of work done and handed over and got very spoilt by my team and friends. I've got one more piece of work to do today and that's it. Setting my out of office yesterday for a return in November 2017 was very surreal!

RosyP13 · 14/10/2016 10:00

So much for hanging on at work til half term - I've had to start maternity leave today. I had a growth scan yesterday which revealed that baby is still not growing, still breech, and that fluid levels are thinning too much and placenta is deteriorating. I've been booked in for a c-section on 25th October (I'll be 37+4) and told I need to rest until then. Bit sad to not have proper goodbyes at work and it's weird knowing when I'm going to give birth now!

Hope everyone's ok, especially Bolly!

Bollyroo · 14/10/2016 11:09

Hurray for everyone starting mat leave today! Well done!

Rosy, are you ok? Glad that they're giving the baby as much growth time as possible and that you've got a plan. Take it easy and try not to worry.

No news here. Had another hospital check up today and poppet doesn't appear to want to move anywhere for the moment. So I'm just at home gently wetting myself Confused. I'm supposed to go to a house warming tomorrow but it's denting my confidence quite a bit knowing that I just keep leaking all the time. But DH is being brilliant and looking after me which is lovely.

salemtheteenagecat · 14/10/2016 11:31

How is everyone doing? I've been awake since 1this morning sleeping on and off but with period type cramps anyone else experienced this? First timer don't want to build hopes up that's it starting so just resting I know nothing is wrong as baby happily wriggling away. Day on sofa it is!

bobcat85 · 14/10/2016 13:49

That's a nice idea Cailler. I was thinking of getting an ornament with his name on but waiting until he is here. I'm also going to get a nice notepad and ask visitors to write something in it then give it to him when he's older.

Hope all goes well Rosy and you're feeling ok. Atleast you can relax a bit before baby appears.

Glad your husband is looking after you Bolly and that something happens for you soon.

salem I had period type cramps the other night for about 10 hours, exactly the same as you're describing. They stopped and then that was it, nothing else happened. I've heard that it could potentially be the baby getting into position so could maybe be that. I found a warm bath helped and also lots of rest.

The first NCT baby arrived yesterday even though he was due next month. Making me feel quite nervous that it could be anytime now. Think I'm pretty much ready if anything did happen, just trying to get husband to pack a bag.

Got my birth plan midwife meeting next week. How's everyone else's birth plans coming along?

DuckWaddle · 14/10/2016 13:57

I've had some period type cramps too but think the must have just been baby positioning. Last time labour started with severe period cramp pains but definite contractions too. We'll see if it's the same this time

salemtheteenagecat · 14/10/2016 14:05

I am due 2nd November so having a baby in October is very possible which hit me the other day I promise you I am normally quite clever ha! Ah its just the unknown but to be fair I haven't stopped "nesting" all week house and car all deepcleaned x

tiredmumrighthere · 14/10/2016 14:31

Hi all, I'm off to the hospital soon with suspected preeclampsia, woke up with huge legs and feet this morning, walked into the doctors and asked them to check me over, blood pressure is fine for now but have protein In urine and other symptoms, she phone day unit at the hospital and they've told me to go in at 4pm, I really hope it's not preeclampsia and that its just water retention, they're most worried about the lack of movement from the baby today although doctor did check heartbeat and that was fine just a case of waiting until we get there and get checked over Confused

mrsdane · 14/10/2016 15:17

All the best tired, hope all is OK and will be thinking of you.

DuckWaddle · 14/10/2016 16:28

Poor you tiredmum- hope all's ok and keep us updated

bobcat85 · 14/10/2016 19:37

Hope all goes ok TiredMum.

FuzzyOwl · 14/10/2016 19:44

Hope everyone is doing well. I don't feel quite so uncomfortable now, so I assume the baby is being a little more cooperative position wise. Despite being over 37 weeks, I have cracked and bought a maternity coat as I figure I'll use it all winter with the baby in the sling.

That's a lovely idea Cailler.

There are two of us (inc me) with that due date salem who are definitely having October babies, so it is definitely very possible!

tiredmumrighthere · 14/10/2016 20:39

Thank you bob, duck and Mrs

Just got home, I seem to have all the signs for preeclampsia apart from the blood pressure (which is lower than it normally is instead of being high) they've taken bloods and are phoning me tomorrow with results, hoping everything is fine and it's just a false alarm Confused

This was my feet earlier Shock

Hope you get the all clear tomorrow tired.

Spottyladybird · 14/10/2016 23:25

Fingers crossed for you tired.

I've got a stinky cold so have felt crap all day, not that DD understands that! She's not been sleeping well and had a mega 45 min strop this morning. Not sure how I'll cope with two!

Bollyroo · 15/10/2016 05:00

Hi everyone. It's a very weepy mr & mrs Bolly here and a very very tiny Zoe Bolly! Born this morning at 9:34 (Syd). She only 2.2kg at 35wks 5days

Bob, your good wishes worked a treat. Started having tightenings at 2am, period type cramps at 3am. Called the hospital as after the waters broke on Tuesday, they told me to call for anything. 2cm at 5am, 10cm at 8am!!! Had paracetamol for the cramps but everything went so quickly there was no time for an epidural or any pain relief!!! Episiotomy (yikes) no time for anaesthetic (double yikes!) but out she came after 1hr active pushing.

We're completely in love! She in the special baby unit and I have to stay in for a couple of days but I can't believe she's here! Can't wait to have our first proper cuddles.

Sorry for the mega ramble. Tired, hope the symptoms calm down.

Holy Crap, I'm a mummy!!

Slumberparty · 15/10/2016 07:10

Amazing! Congratulations!!! Hope you have a speedy recovery. Zoe is a lovely name too x

AyeAmarok · 15/10/2016 07:44

Welcome little Zoe! Number one baby of our group! Yay!

Amazing news Bolly, well done. And thanks for the detail on how it went. Hope you're not feeling too sore and you manage to get some rest.

Congrats again!

Spottyladybird · 15/10/2016 08:04

Congratulations Bolly hope you're recovering well and that little Zoe is doing well. Flowers

bobcat85 · 15/10/2016 08:04
