Starting a fresh new thread for us!

I think Fedup asked about Elderberries and if anyone had heard from her... I haven't seen her name pop up in a while, but I'm not on the FB group either. I've been wondering the same about almondbutter, haven't seen her on here for a while now and know she was really suffering with sickness.

Things do get really uncomfortable at this stage, don't they? I've got backache, rib pain (that I think was mainly trapped wind Blush), heart burn/reflux so bad at night that I throw up 4/5 nights a week and general aches and pains all over. So bloody pleased I brought mat leave forward!

bobcat85 · 11/10/2016 13:13

Cramps seem to have stopped but having the odd twinge. I had a warm bath this morning and have just been sleeping and resting on the sofa. I'm hoping it's just the baby moving position or something as I'm only 35 weeks today so want to hold out until at least 37 weeks.

Spottyladybird · 11/10/2016 13:21

Feeling really uncomfortable here too. Getting odd twinge pains and pelvic pain. Got a weird one too though, if I walk any distance I tend to get a stitch type pain up one side of my bump. Today it was on the way home from dropping DD at nursery then on the way to collect her too. Really sore, am seeing the mw tomorrow so will ask her then.

Bollyroo · 11/10/2016 13:31

So I'm only 35.3 and my waters have well and truely broken. Currently in a huge delivery suite on antibiotics and have to stay overnight. No contractions really, just the odd bit of tightening but poppet is fully engaged and basically bursting to come out. All quite bizarre and unexpected. The midwives reckon there's a high possibility of things kicking off tomorrow. Eek! DH has gone home so I can rest. He's quite pacey so it'll do him some good. I feel fairly calm about things and the midwives are super chilled which is good. Glad I had a good dinner before we came in though. Annoyingly they've said a water birth is completely off the cards so I'm a bit gutted.

So if anyone has a choice about taking mat leave early, do it! I've only had a week and I hadn't even gotten round to seeing Bridget Jones Baby yet!

LittleGreyCatwithapinkcollar · 11/10/2016 16:40

Good luck Bolly - live updates please!!

Just back from seeing my consultant obstetrician and once again feel no further on with what's happening. She hadn't even received any letters from my neurosurgeon (following my appt with him 4 weeks ago!!). Luckily I had requested them electronically from his Secretary 2 weeks ago as I'd not had them so was able to give her a print out. Anyway she did get best to answer my millions of questions but she was basically guessing a lot of it as she hasn't been able to discuss it with him as suggested in the bloody letter!!! So infuriating!! So back to square one and waiting and hoping nothing happens before it's all sorted out!

needanewjob · 11/10/2016 16:53

Good luck bolly wow it's so exciting

MissObsessed · 11/10/2016 17:17

Good luck bolly exciting times!

FuzzyOwl · 11/10/2016 17:49

Good luck Bolly!

That's awful LittleGrey. Can you email the secretary your list of questions and ask her to ensure your receive correct answers, rather than her guesses, by the end of the week?

Spottyladybird · 11/10/2016 18:27

Good luck bolly

JadeT2 · 11/10/2016 20:11

Exciting times Bolly!!

Sorry you're still having such a rubbish time LittleGrey It's crap that the communication is so poor between different areas and departments :(

DuckWaddle · 11/10/2016 20:45

Little grey- I'm really appalled at the treatment you're having. It must be incredibly worrying for you. I hope you can get some answers asap

Stretchedfortime · 11/10/2016 21:38

Good luck Bollyroo.

Littlegrey - have you tried the patient advice and liaison service? Sometimes they can bash heads together. It is rubbish you're having to sort out what the hospital should be doing for you.

I've got terrible reflux/heartburn too. And I'm also just feeling quite vulnerable/clingy. I almost cried when my husband suggested he might go out at the weekend. I just want to stay home and nest with him in the house. Anyone else feeling like this? I'm trying to convince myself this is a natural reaction to hormones but who knows?

Bollyroo · 11/10/2016 21:43

Aww, thanks everyone. I'm slightly emotional after that!! So only very mild cramps have started here. Had a rubbish night (I'm in sydney), about 30mins sleep mainly because I kept getting bitten by mozzies (or nozzles as my mum's autocorrect kept saying - which then led to my sister suggesting nozzles as the middle name..!)

Anyway, the lovely dr checked on me at 3 and brought me food of the gods, toast, apple juice and yoghurt which made me feel a lot better. Other than that, they'll decide in the next half hour whether to induce me (nooooo) or let me rest at home for the day (yayayaayay!). Will keep you updated.

Littlegrey, that's so disappointing. Fingers crossed they sort themselves out and give you the answers you need.

Fedupithink · 11/10/2016 22:16

Sounds promising Bolly

Littlegrey you have been treated really badly throughout, I think on your shoes I'd be kicking off frequently, loudly and st anyone who will listen until something is done. Make sure any calls are backed up by email and cc all parties in all correspondence so there can be no "we didn't know that..." later. You are in a very difficult and I'd imagine a fairly unique situation - they need to take this seriously.

Bollyroo · 12/10/2016 09:39

A quick update. Basically nothing was happening at all so I discharged myself after 24hrs since my waters broke with strict orders to go back if anything changes whatsoever. So looking forward to sleeping in my own bed!

Here's everything I've learnt about waters breaking: Because I'm between 35-37weeks, they like to let nature take its course. Over 37weeks and they induce you within 48hrs of waters breaking. Less than 35weeks and they give you steroids to try to postpone labour and help develop babies lungs. Apparently only 2-3% have waters break before full term and 10% waters break at full term and before contractions.

So they will induce me at 37weeks (10days so she'll be an October baby) if it doesn't kick off before then. I've got to be monitored at the hospital every other day. Definitely a lot happier at home. Hope everyone else is ok. xx

LittleGreyCatwithapinkcollar · 12/10/2016 10:20

That's really good news Bolly. Glad you're in comfortable surroundings.

I think my issue is that it's two totally different hospitals as well as departments. But my obstetrician was furious yesterday and told me to give her a couple of days to sort it. If I've not heard anything in a week I'm calling secretaries etc. And if anything happens before hand I'm going to my local hospital and making them sort it out!!!
