Starting a fresh new thread for us!

I think Fedup asked about Elderberries and if anyone had heard from her... I haven't seen her name pop up in a while, but I'm not on the FB group either. I've been wondering the same about almondbutter, haven't seen her on here for a while now and know she was really suffering with sickness.

Thanks rusk, I'll bare that all in mind Smile

So..ended up on delivery suit last night after a day of intense Brixton hicks! It got to 10pm and and I was having 6/7 every hour and each one felt more painful than the last Confusedcalled them up and the said because I've had a pre term in the past (36w) that I best go in to be monitored, was there a couple of hours and the mw could see that I'd had 7 and they were ranging between 10-15 mins apart, doctor came in and looked at the neck of my womb to make sure Nothing was happening and thanks heavens there isn't Smile but she did say I had thrush so was sent home with some canesten! All this has done is make me panic about how unprepared I am Confused no hospital bag packed, other than a few clothes, car seat and a changing bag, she has nothing! Not even a bed or bottles Blush..seriously need to up my game this weekend

MuffyTheUmpireSlayer · 10/10/2016 10:53

Thank you! I managed to get an hour or so before the neighbour's builders arrived. Don't they know they should be whispering when I haven't slept? Grin I'll definitely be booking an appointment in sooner because it's still killing me! It sounds silly, but do you think if it is SPD it'll affect my chances of using the birthing centre? Having had such ups and downs with my health an previous pregnancies I was so excited when the consultant gave me the OK to use it, I'll be really disappointed if I can't again now Sad

Oh God tired you must have been bricking it! I'm glad all is okay though. You've spurred me on to finish packing my bag!

I'm surprised we've come this far with no babies yet too. I wonder who will be first to pop.

EllieM22 · 10/10/2016 11:04

Oh tired glad all is ok!

I had 2 "this is it" panics and both resulted in trips to L&D to be told it was irritable uterus. Now whenever i have them i know it's a false alarm, but told my mum last night and she said at this rate when it's the real thing I wont realise i'll dismiss it and end up giving birth on the bathroom floor Confused

I just hope i get a sure fire sign like my waters going rather than these flipping BH and cramps!

Can't wait to see who's LO comes first? I'm a ftm so dreading going over to 42 and being induced 😞

Pelvis is aching a lot today after a weekend of long dog walks so hopefully baby's head is doing its job

tiredmumrighthere · 10/10/2016 11:21

Honestly ladies, I said to DP on the way home, imagine if that had of been the real thing and I had no bag, and baby hasn't even got the essentials Confused tbh it couldn't come at a worse time right now as we are having new floor fitted downstairs tomorrow and have still got the skirtings and architraves to go back on next week! She needs to hold on tight in there cos we've still got so much to do to this house Shock

tiredmumrighthere · 10/10/2016 11:22

Ellie my biggest fear lately is not getting to the hospital in time when the real thing does happen, how people have home births is beyond me because I'd be a complete mess Confused

EllieM22 · 10/10/2016 18:49

tiredmum atleast now you'll be spurred on to pack and prepare! My friend is having a home birth - same DD as me (14/11) so I'm keen to see how she does! I'd love to be at home after baby is born but I just feel like the hospital is safer just incase!

So ladies I had some exciting/not so exciting news today. I've been entering the London Marathon ballot for 4 years and today I found out I have a place for April! So 5/6 months after giving birth! I used to run a lot of half marathons pre pregnancy and to do the LM was always a dream of mine. It's so hard to get a place so I really don't want to pass it up but I also don't want to set myself an unrealistic expectation 😞

What do you think?
I have a pregnancy blog on Facebook and I posted on there about it which resulted in some comments where friends have said yes go for it, but none of them are parents, I havent had any advice from mums yet!

Kind of just want to go for it

MuffyTheUmpireSlayer · 10/10/2016 19:10

That's brilliant Ellie! If it's something you've always wanted to do I'd say go for it. Just don't over exert yourself and don't set unrealistic expectations. Congratulations!

Spottyladybird · 10/10/2016 19:26

When do you need to decide by ellie?

Personally, I'd keep in mind that you might not give birth until the 24th Nov and you can't train for 6 weeks post Partum so that takes you to after Christmas. Do you think you'll be able to get to full fitness by April? Can you defer and keep your place for 2018?

helenatroy · 10/10/2016 20:08

Elle. I'm having a. C section and my dr said I'd be running in ten weeks and be capable of distances by fourteen. She's a runner herself and ran a marathon 14 weeks after giving birth

FuzzyOwl · 10/10/2016 22:35

Well done for getting a place Ellie. When do you need to decide by? I guess part of it will depend on the type of birth you have and what gestation your baby is born. I hope you are able to manage it.

We have had a few births but I think some of the posters mainly update in the FB group instead of on here. It's exciting to think that soon we will all have our babies!

Fedupithink · 11/10/2016 04:23

Oh wow Fuzzy this has spurred me on to sort out my works email clash issue, that's job one on today's to do list! You know, when today actually starts for the rest of the non-pregnant country.

bobcat85 · 11/10/2016 06:06

I've had constant cramps since about 10 last night, not sure whether I should bother ringing the labour line or it's just one of those things. It's getting quite uncomfortable though so not really sure what to do with myself.

CakeAndChocolate · 11/10/2016 06:46

I would ring if I were you bob
I've been having cramps in my back for the last hour, it's probably nothing, but I've just downloaded an app to time them and I'll give the ward a ring in a couple of hours if they are still there.

MuffyTheUmpireSlayer · 11/10/2016 07:29

I would call too bob. Good luck and keep us posted!

bobcat85 · 11/10/2016 08:58

It's eased off a bit now, going to see if it happens again and then give them a call.

EllieM22 · 11/10/2016 09:26

Let us know bob!

fuzzy what is the fb group called? Would love to join!

EllieM22 · 11/10/2016 09:27

Need to decide by 24th nov about the marathon which is 10 days after my due date! Leaning towards doing it but taking it easy! We will see how the birth goes

AyeAmarok · 11/10/2016 09:59

Oh nice one Ellie! I think you may as well sign up for it, even if it gets to the day and baby still hasn't made an appearance (which hopefully won't be the case).

It might even be nice to have something (else) to focus on after Christmas once you can start getting out there again, and in a way it might even be a good time as you'll be on Mat Leave, rather than trying to fit long runs around work!

You can just see how you go, and do it with no pressure just for your own enjoyment.

tiredmumrighthere · 11/10/2016 10:41

How's everyone feeling today?

I've been confined to the kitchen as flooring is being done, I'm just eating crap to pass the time Confused looks like I'll be here all day!

I'm so bored!

Feel really uncomfortable and restless today too, lots of fanny stabbing pains and feet in ribs which is forcing me to sit really upright

mrsdane · 11/10/2016 11:35

Congrats on the marathon place, Ellie. As PP have said, it'll be great to have something 'else' to focus on that's just for you in that first six month period. I'd see how you feel, knowing that there are thousands of others who would happily take the place, so I wouldn't worry. Good for you!

Tired - with you on the discomfort. Just had physio and my ribcage moved which helped for breathing, but am just not up to much today at all. Thankfully am woking from home so can avoid the dreaded train/bus journey.

How's everyone sleeping? Badly?

tiredmumrighthere · 11/10/2016 11:42

Mrs-don't even go there with the sleeping! I wake up with a dead side then am forced turn over which must look like the most comical thing ever as it takes a good 1-2 mins Confused

tiredmumrighthere · 11/10/2016 11:42

This is what I resemble!

Ellie just pm me with the email address that you use to log into your FB account with and I will send you the link.

DD is having a nap so I am lying down and trying to get comfortable, which seems to be an endlessly impossible task. Am really worrying about labour now and started sleepwalking which really hasn't helped my energy levels, since I need the loo so often during the night and PGP makes it so difficult to sleep well anyway. Am term tomorrow though, so really looking at the final few weeks.

MuffyTheUmpireSlayer · 11/10/2016 11:53

Hips are still hurting and had another sleepless night last night! I managed to see the midwife this morning and she told me about ball-exercises and said I need to see my GP to be referred to physio (but there's a chance I'll have had the baby by the time I get an appointment!)

I went back to bed for a nap and now I'm trying to prise myself out again so I can get ready for work as I'm teaching this afternoon. I had just got comfy as well Sad

AyeAmarok · 11/10/2016 12:01

I'm feeling a bit rubbish too. Heartburn woke me up last night, I felt the stomach acid (I assume!) shooting up and I immediately choked on it. Then it buuuuuurned. So uncomfortable.

I have some internal bruising too I think. Told DP I feel like my mid-section has been in a car crash!

I'm in the office today with a nightmare client, who's late. I really want to bow out early and crawl back into bed.
