Behold, the wonder of birth! Members from 6 weeks bfp to post-partum wonder Mamas! No question to grotty or minging.

We've come full circle from obsessing about cervical mucus to now obsessing if it's our vagina baby plug going! What larks!

Lots of talk about poo, ours and now babies too! Baby brain is REAL! This heat can kiss my arse. And who KNEW being so neurotic about which changing mat to buy could be so satisfying and addictive!

Roll up literally, in my case, cause I'm practically rotund! for TTC #1 Grads!

Pink just be wary of the top up trap, also pumping is no indication of how much milk baby is getting as they're much more efficient at getting the milk out than a pump is. Baby being on the boob constantly is normal for growth spurts and how they tell your body to make more milk, also she could just be wanting the comfort.
Don't worry you're not giving her enough, as long as you're getting plenty of wet and dirty nappies and Evelyn is gaining weight then you have plenty of milk.

Also they say it's best not to express before milk supply is established (6 weeks) as you can cause your body to create too much milk which can result in enforcement and mastitis.
Have you got any locks breastfeeding support or a la leche league group nearby? They have a 24 hour phone number you can call if you want to discuss it with trained support people. Apparently they're amazing.
Obviously I'm no expert and hope I'm not coming across as holier than thou. Smile

marmite you lucky lady! Please enjoy your lack of sickness. I had hyperemesis from week 5 to week 23 and only then it slowly slowly started to get better. It was hideous to the point I was on a drip in hospital several times.

My milk has come in and my boobs are absolutely enormous. Pretty sure I'm going to get stretch marks on my milkbags after managing to avoid them all pregnancy Blush oh well, totally worth it Grin

pink Harrison only goes about 20 minutes every 3 hours and I worry he's not getting enough too! I guess either way we can't win. I also don't nap... I know I probably should but I have the urge to clean and disinfect everything as well as do at least 1 loads of washing per day. I massively underestimated how much clothing little ones go through!

Hope everyone's ok! 3rd night about to start and I think we have a plan! Feed, snooze, feed, OH takes him for a couple of hours so I can sleep properly, feed then snooze. Hopefully I'll get about 4 hours again because I've been fine today! Managed a walk with the dog and we went to asda Grin

BunchOfBobs · 16/09/2016 05:44

Oh my word Atticus just full on baby giggled in his sleep. I had to wake up DH to let
him hear (earplugs). I'm beaming. Now how to figure out what is funny to this little man to get a real giggle out when he's awake Grin

PotatosMum · 16/09/2016 05:47

Wow, so Arya is making me pay for my two nights sleep. She appears to have painful trapped wind and has been awake grisling or crying at me since midnight. I'm so tired that even breathing is an effort! Sad

Mileymoocow · 16/09/2016 06:34

Been up every 2 hours until 3, woke again just after 5 for a feed but wouldn't latch on to my right boob. He screamed the place down so I gave in and let him on my right. He's now happily suckling away Hmm he's also in the past 24 hours had 2 soaked through nappies, is it normal for them to do such huge wees?!

Mileymoocow · 16/09/2016 06:49

Ah bunch I can't wait for the giggles to come! I bet that completely melted hour heart ❤

Sorry you've had a rough night potato Sad can your OH take her for an hour so you can get your head down?

Nevlet · 16/09/2016 08:15

Miley yes i can't believe how much wee physically fits in then comes out Bodhi!!!

marmitecheesetoast · 16/09/2016 08:25

Ok thanks for managing my expectations ladies, I fully appreciate that the sickness may ease for a few weeks now but could still come back! Anyway I think I may have spoken too soon/jinxed myself yesterday as currently sitting on bus to work feeling incredibly queasy and having to suck strong mints and tell myself I'm not going to be sick. Sorry you had it so bad miley you poor thing

Ok now there's baby and animal pictures! Cuteness overload! Grin

Atticus giggling in his sleep sounds absolutely adorable Bunch!

Co5mo · 16/09/2016 11:08

Elle thanks for the tip. That must be why all the older generation keep telling me to scrub the kitchen floor on my hands and knees!

Indi it's 4 weeks until my due date. Plenty of time yet for him to engage but I'm desperate to avoid induction if possible.

Co5mo · 16/09/2016 11:16

Marmite I went through a phase between about 10 and 16 weeks where I'd get bouts of nausea. It would come and go and sometimes I'd be fine for days and then find myself randomly vomiting in the most inappropriate places. The supermarket was one probably the best!

Ahhh Atticus and his sleepy giggles 💗

LillianFullStop · 16/09/2016 13:21

Oh bunch, baby Atticus giggles! Now that's definitely something to look forward to!

Anyone else glad of the cooler weather today? The tube has been horrendous this week and the swollen (and sweaty - ) feet from the heat need a break.

LisaTheSimpson · 16/09/2016 14:16

Probably a very dumb question - can someone please help me with bedding?

  • do I need sheets in the pram? If so, what kind?
  • how many bedding sets do you have for cribs/ moses baskets?
  • how many sheets / blankets do you need, generally? And what kind?

Realised I don't have much bedding! Grin

LisaTheSimpson · 16/09/2016 14:18

Lillian - oh my god yes, London is actually very bearable today!

I didn't mind the recent heatwave during the last few days as such, it was the nights I struggled with - SO hard to get to sleep.

We've got a gro egg in the bedroom, to start thinking about temperature, and the last few nights have been 27 degrees. When I've got back from work I've put the fan on straight away, opened windows, and tried to cool it down, but to no avail.

leoniethelioness · 16/09/2016 15:14

Lisa I just have a muslin under Theo in my pram.

Four is the right number of sheets for us.

Buy cellular blankets - I don't need to change these very often so I think 2 would be enough. They come in different sizes for cribs and cot beds so make sure you get the right size.

PotatosMum · 16/09/2016 15:51

Bunch Atticus giggling in his sleep is adorable.

Lisa I have 4 Moses basket sheets, about 6 light receiving blankets, 3 heavy blankets and 2 sleeping bags.
I put a blanket at the bottom of the pram.

Arya has been fussy all day, I'm starting to think she might be getting a cold as she's been sneezing all day.

Mileymoocow · 16/09/2016 16:14

lisa After Harrison wee'd in his pram yesterday I'd definitely recommend a sheet 😂 we've bought waterproof pads to put under his muslin square in his pram.

As for blankets, I have 2 cellular, 2 fleece and a couple of others I tend to use for cuddling in for skin on skin time if it's a bit chilly!

marmite thanks, it's all a distant memory now, luckily! He is worth an eternity of morning sickness Smile

We've been shopping Grin got stopped so much but I didn't mind - I'm proud as punch of our little fella, he's awesome.

Any breastfeeding mums having an issue feeding on one side? Harrison really does not like my right boob Sad he will latch on but continue to let go, look for it, latch on again etc... he will be absolutely fine one feed then nothing the next.

leoniethelioness · 16/09/2016 18:37

I can only really feed Theo with my right breast if we are lying down or using the biological nursing position, Miley. Can't seem to cradle him properly. Have you tried other positions?

LisaTheSimpson · 16/09/2016 19:54

Thanks Leonie, Potato, and Miley!

I need to sort this asap. Just had a call from the hospital (they've been taking bloods from me every few days since that weekend ten days ago when I was really sick), and my liver enzymes are still high, and now my bioacids (no idea) are also high.

They're thinking they want me to induce me around 38/39 weeks (will be 38 on Monday), and I've got an appt with a Dr tomorrow to discuss it.

Eeeek! Any advice anyone??

Mileymoocow · 16/09/2016 20:21

lisa my only advice is to make sure you know how to use your car seat and fold your pram! Otherwise that is so exciting for you! Obviously not great that you have medical issues but you get to meet bubs soon!! Grin

leonie pretty much tried them all, he was fine until this morning Hmm now he's hating on my right boob. Hmm, I wonder what it is about babies and the right side, I'm going to speak to the health visitor tomorrow when he gets weighed and see if she has any suggestions.

I have a confession...we gave in to the Bounty lady - I know, I know! We have just got an email through with the link to his photo's and I can't stop crying. I'll share them when I get the proper ones that aren't watermarked

BunchOfBobs · 16/09/2016 20:31

Lisa it'll be your bile acids. Sounds like they think it's OC but they should have told you that. Very exciting baby is coming soon, sounds like it's the best thing for you both.

Miley I take it they're gorgeous then? Grin

Dr not worried about Atticus atall, will see how his belly button is at his 8weeks check up so all well there.

Currently got both gorgeous gingers asleep on me Grin

AudreyBradshaw · 16/09/2016 20:55

Ooooh I so want to see your pics miley I can't get over Harrisons hair! I love it! And doesn't he look like your dp!

bunch sooooo sweet! I'm trying to get coco used to not being in charge. I feel like she's beer going to forgive me once the baby is born, she just about puts up with Nacho!

So fanny daggers! After never knowing what everyone was on about. .well, bugger me! Felt like I was being fisted with a hot poker by Satan! I went "aaaah!" And grabbed my arse cheeks and jumped about! Dh was initially concerned, then found it hilarious! Where the hell do those originate from?!

BunchOfBobs · 16/09/2016 21:51

Audrey wait for the arse javelins Wink
Coco may not forgive you initially but once weaning sets in she'll definitely forgive you Grin

AudreyBradshaw · 16/09/2016 21:54

That's what it was bunch ! Well, I'm not sure! It was sort of originating in my gooch! I thought I'd ruptured a pile! Grin

PotatosMum · 16/09/2016 21:58

Lisa the best advice is just go with whatever your dr thinks is best and try not to worry. Also, if you forget anything in your hospital bag it's not the end of the world, hospitals are used to people being unprepared and will have things like blankets on hand.

Miley there's nothing wrong with getting the bounty baby photos. To be honest the only reason I didn't want them is that we plan to get some professional photos done in a couple of months as we want a full selection of photos including some with Arya with us and her half-siblings Smile

Bunch glad Atticus is ok Smile He looks really cute with Sherlock.

Audrey I shouldn't laugh at your pain but I do have a really comical image of you in my head now.
No idea what causes fanny daggers, I've heard lots of theories from the cervix starting to dilate to baby having long nails Hmm

So, Arya is 4 weeks today. She's still a grumpy bum but became far less grumpy when her daddy got home she likes to pretend that I'm lying when I tell her daddy I haven't been able to put her down all day Hmm so we had another go at playing with toys in her vibrating chair. She really does seem to love her pink bug, it's the only toy she tries to bat. I also got her baby gym out, she wasn't too fussed about most of it but she was fascinated by the mirror, she spent a good 10 minutes looking at it, pulling faces and batting at it. I think she thought it was another baby Grin

AudreyBradshaw · 16/09/2016 22:18

potato it's ok lol, Dh laughed too! It was like a poker got stuck up my anus right through to my belly button! I hope it's not cervix dilating, I read that to earlier! That would certainly freak me out! Definetly need a few more weeks yet! We've not even got our name list sorted!

She's so cute! Look at her concentrating! Clever babies we've got on our thread us!
