Behold, the wonder of birth! Members from 6 weeks bfp to post-partum wonder Mamas! No question to grotty or minging.

We've come full circle from obsessing about cervical mucus to now obsessing if it's our vagina baby plug going! What larks!

Lots of talk about poo, ours and now babies too! Baby brain is REAL! This heat can kiss my arse. And who KNEW being so neurotic about which changing mat to buy could be so satisfying and addictive!

Roll up literally, in my case, cause I'm practically rotund! for TTC #1 Grads!

Congratulations on the move to Singapore, canters.

Indi - pack some straws in your C section bag and massive knickers. I'm wearing size 18 Bridget Jones knickers and I'm normally a 10/12.

IndiX · 13/09/2016 18:27

Thanks Leonie will put straws on my list. Yeah I'm going to get enormous ones. Did you just wear nighties or did you wear any full pj's?

leoniethelioness · 13/09/2016 19:23

I wore a hospital gown initially then a nightie (necessary due to catheter which is in for about 12 hours) but I started wearing pyjama bottoms by about day 4. As long as they are high waisted and loose around the wound, it's fine. I've still not graduated from leggings yet but that's more down to my jeans being too tight, haha!

Janubub · 13/09/2016 19:26

Hello, I'm not a grad but I am a first timer...thought I'd say hey after reading along for a while. Feel I need some other first timer support!
22w now, starting to get a bump which is exciting. Baby is wriggly.
Congratulations to those who have recent arrivals - show us how it's done Grin

AudreyBradshaw · 13/09/2016 19:51

Welcome jan

Waiting for dh to come back from the gym with our treat of a Chinese! Grin
Thanks for all the kindness you guys, it's kept me going! Been saying to dh "this is all a bit Jeremy kyle for me!" So fingers crossed for some positivity now! Just got to be thankful, Dh is healthy, I'm healthy, baby is healthy. We are lucky and blessed to be starting a family.

Tamsin and Harrison are beyond beautiful! I teared up! Feels weird as I'm 30 weeks tomorrow. Where has the time gone?! I'm blooming massive, everyone keeps saying I'll never go full term. Which is a sure fire way of ensuring ill be 40+12 and ready to murder by my induction date.

Hi Jan! Welcome to the thread- glad you've decided to start posting now! How has your pregnancy been so far?

10 weeks to go, Stark! Woohoo!.

Indi - I meant to say that you'll probably be in 3 to 4 days so you might want to pack extra or have DP on washing duty!

IndiX · 13/09/2016 20:27

Leonie the consultant told me they only keep me in for 2 nights, as long as all is well of course, but I'll ask again when I go for my final appt on 30th. How are you feeling now? Are you able to get around much?

Hi Jan! Congrats on your pregnancy and I hope it's been going smoothly so far for you!

Christ Audrey I feel like your pregnancy has gone quicker than mine!

My sciatica is really playing up, I'm so frustrated with it I could scream! I'm already in bed but there's literally no position I can get in that eases itAngry maybe I've done too much in the gym or over the last couple of days.

I was meant to ask..all the new mummy's who suffered with back or pelvis pain when pregnant, has the pain just gone now? Did it go as soon as the baby arrived?
I'm holding out hope that I only have 24 days at the most with this bloody sciatica

Janubub · 13/09/2016 20:28

Hi leonie - pregnancy has been good so far though I was very nauseated in the first trimester. Tired now, work is it's increasingly exhausting! Can't imagine how it will be by the third trimester Confused

AudreyBradshaw · 13/09/2016 20:33

indi it's weird isn't it!? Im sure ive got it wrong and im only about 16 weeks really! I can't believe so many are actually Mammy's already! With actual fruit of our wombs! We were just about discussing OPK'S, frequency of dtd and EWCM this time last year! Can't belive you're so close to meeting Beanie!

Thanks leonie Grin definetly stay in comfy pants as long as possible!

How are we all today?!

Dh still not back with this Chinese! 🍛🍲🍚🍜

Ooh exciting Canters Singapore will be an amazing place to live! I was in Malaysia for 2.5 years and Singapore was our place to go where east meets west.
Welcome Jan hopefully although you'll continue to get bigger it will be cooler for your 3rd trimester which will help!

LillianFullStop · 13/09/2016 21:26

Oh wow canters that definitely sounds exciting! congratulations!

Audrey I know what you mean - I'm 34w now and after weeks of 'we can get it closer to the date' I've realised closer to the date is NOW! Especially with the trend of early arrivals - like indi I'm half expecting to go into labour any moment! Also I'm getting quite uncomfortable/awkward now - not SPD or sciatica or anything serious I don't know how you ladies deal with much worse!

So happy for our new mum's and thread babies (I can't believe there are now 11!) - it certainly reassures me as one waiting in the wings. Our new mum's are so awesome I am hanging on every word for insight, reassurance and tips!

Welcome jan! If you tell me your EDD and Team Blue/Pink/Vanilla i can add you to the list!

Mileymoocow · 14/09/2016 06:01

So I'm on to no sleep since Sunday morning now. Really trying my hardest not to get pissed off with OH Angry he's snoring away in bed and just keeps saying "are you sure?" Whenever I mention sorting the baby out. Yes I have to feed him but ffs how hard is it to take him away for an hour after he's been fed so I can get some sleep?! I think he's scared of having Harrison on his own but all bes gonna do is put him in his poddle pod while he sleeps!

Anyway! Welcome jan! Grin hope pregnancy continues to be smooth sailing.

Audrey seems like yesterday I was saying "only 10 weeks to go!" Wink it really does fly over.

canters what an amazing adventure for you all! It sounds very exciting!

indi everything has gone, it's unbelievable. I can roll o to my side and everything again! Amazing! except the enormous blood clot I passed my bleeding has decreased pretty rapidly and the swelling and pain isn't as brutal as I had imagined - certainly manageable with a slight grimace every time I sit down. Not brave enough to have a poo yet.

Nevlet · 14/09/2016 06:33

Miley sorry you are struggling with OH... Mine has got much the same. He has been doing the post 10pm shift till Bodhi gets to sleep as that can take a couple of hours and I am useless tired by that time so I go to sleep and then do all the rest of the night waking and all day. By 10.20 last night he was moaning like mad that Bodh was still awake and just shoving a dummy in his screaming mouth not cuddling him or anything. I take him downstairs as its pissing me off. He appears at 4am to tell me us not being there upstairs is now stopping him sleeping so up we go. Managed to get Bodh to sleep. 6 am he wakes up for his feed (i have had two hours sleep he has had seven and a half) doesnt even make an effort to get up for him. When i get back upstairs with bottle and mumble to Bodh I am tired he gets in a big huff says he is taking the day off work as I cant cope and then goes back to sleep yet again. What would actually be useful would have been for him to do morning feed etc before work and let me sleep two hours. AngryAngry

IndiX · 14/09/2016 06:35

Oh Miley have you asked DH to take him for an hour or 2? I think men sometimes have to be told rather than us waiting for them to volunteer, as annoying as that is. He probably is a bit nervous, I'm sure I have all this to come with my DH.
How is Harrison feeding and sleeping?
If it helps I feel like punching my DH as he breathes heavily next to me Angry
Also that's great about the back pain, mine is worst at night, I can't wait for it to bugger off.

BunchOfBobs · 14/09/2016 06:42

Yay canters how exciting!!!

Welcome *Jan.

Potato* what did the police say, what an utter shit doing that early hours of the morning. I am a bit woo as have had a few experiences through my life as have my family. DH on the other hand gets freaked out if I even mention ghosts or the like.

Someone asked about baby acne. Atticus has started to get spots on his chin now. Poor little mite.

Pink Atticus is really variable with how long he spends on each side. He sometimes only does 5-10 mins, sometimes 15-20. As long as poo is grainy that shows their getting to the fatty hind milk and are feeding for enough time on each side. If not then you need to keep putting them on the same breast so they get to it.

Indi mine disappeared during labour, it was amazing. Then some hip aching came back but I put that down to everything readjusting. Rolling over in bed has never been so amazing.

Miley, Nev sorry you're both struggling with OHs. It's a huge adjustment to them, we've gotten to grips with it more feeling Baby move the last however many months. I think sometimes blokes need more of a prod and telling what to do. When DH gets up at 6.30 Atticus has usually been up for 2.5 hours (he won't sleep from 4ish unless on me and I won't sleep with him on me for fear of suffocation) so I just hand him over and go to sleep. No asking, no telling I just do it. It works. Of a weekend DH is up with me in the night for support but I let him sleep through the week. In return I make sure he does all nappy changes when home and all weekend.

BunchOfBobs · 14/09/2016 06:45

Well the sod just proved me wrong. Tried to hand him over "oh I've got to get ready for work" Angryapparently he's going in earlier this morning the knob. Thankfully Atticus is back asleep in his sleepyhead bow though. Why are men so awkward!

How did Arya sleep last night potato? Is the new milk still working?

Pinklily1 · 14/09/2016 07:21

Hi all

Welcome Jan! Do you know the sex of your baby?

indi, I had bad hip pain at night whilst pregnant and it's pretty much gone now.

canters, exciting news about your DH's job. When will you be moving?

miley, sorry to hear your OH isn't being great, and yours too nev. Do you think it's a confidence thing? Mine was very nervous about changing nappies but I've been standing with him while he does it and encouraging him he's doing fine, which seems to have helped. I don't think men appreciate how tiring it is looking after a baby all day.

Re the poo miley, drink prune juice by the bucket load! I'm on iron tablets which can cause constipation so the midwife said to eat lots of fruit to keep things moving and make sure there isn't too much pressure on my stitches when I do go.

Did any new mummies experience an increase in bleeding about a week after birth? I had quite an active day yesterday and my bleeding increased. It's settled now but I think maybe I did too much yesterday Hmm

PotatosMum · 14/09/2016 07:42

Dr hope things get moving for you soon Smile

Canters wow, congrats on deciding to move to Singapore. Exciting times, new baby and new country Grin

Welcome Jan

Audrey woohoo for 30 weeks Grin you'll have your own bundle of sleep deprecation in no time Grin

Indi my hip pain disappeared after birth with just the occasional flare up when I was walking. Completely cone now though.

Miley sorry you're struggling with sleep. It does get easier though. My OH was the same when we brought Arya home. I'd be up most of the night feeding and settling her and he'd lay there snoring. It's frustrating but just keep to your guns.

Nev that sounds like a nightmare with your OH. Are you managing to sleep when baby does during the day? Of OH is being a shit about feeding and settling then perhaps Suggest he does the cleaning and cooking until baby is sleeping better so that you can at least rest during the day.

Pink my bleeding was really up and down for 3 weeks. It's nearly stopped now though.

I'm sorry for everyone having trouble getting their baby to sleep. You're probably going to want to throw rocks at me but Arya seems to have a new sleep pattern. She drifts off about 9pm, wakes for a feed about 1 or 2 am and then sleeps until about 6am. I'm now getting a similar amount of sleep to before pregnancy. Best sleepy baby EVER!!!!!

I'm probably going to suffer during teething Confused

It looks like I might have another UTI Sad just waiting for test results.

PotatosMum · 14/09/2016 08:04

Forgot to say, there was no repeat of the kicking last night, let's hope there's none today. Maybe it was just random and not related to the previous owners or maybe the note OH put on the door advising the culprit they were upsetting a young (HA) mum and her newborn made them feel like jerks. We'll see.

Also, saw my mum again this weekend. She was all about imparting advice. One of the things she told me is if I want to leave Arya out in the garden alone I can get a mesh to go over her basket to keep cats from getting in with her... I advised her I will not be leaving my newborn baby in the garden unattended but she insisted that if I want to I should get this cat mesh... It really is a wonder she managed to keep 3 kids alive Confused

Nevlet · 14/09/2016 08:07

Its definitely not a confidence issue when he bothers he is amazing with him!

I think Bodhi has his first cold Sad

Mileymoocow · 14/09/2016 08:11

He was feeding brilliantly indi, he fed every 3 hours until 11 last night then tried to get him back on at 2am and he was having none of it! So 5am he was on for about half an hour. Will try again at 8. His sleeping is awesome, he goes straight down after a feed and when awake he is happy to be left to kick and wave for a while.

Pink I think it's definitely a confidence thing as he is so brilliant when I'm there - he's giving it all a good go. It just seems that he doesn't want to do it on his own which means I have to constantly be awake. It's a good job little one is so adorable.

nev it is so bloody frustrating isn't it! I'm in bed trying him for a feed and OH has had a dull night grim 11 apart from when he woke up when I was changing Harrison!!! Wtf.

Really hope it isn't a UTI potato!

When colostrum is in did your babies feed every 3 hours? I'm really worried he isn't getting enough but not because it's not there - he just doesn't seem interested. He red at 11 then not again til 5! This new mummy stuff is really hard to master

BunchOfBobs · 14/09/2016 08:14

Oh no Nev have you got a snot sucker to help? The thought turns my stomach but I have witnessed how amazing they are with my SILs kids.

Potato glad you didn't have a repeat.
Obviously the new formula is really agreeing with Arya.

Atticus has his usual sleeps for 3
Hours, wakes to feed, sleeps for 1.5 hours, feeds, sleeps for another 1.5 hours feeds then gets trapped wind and won't go down. Infracol doesn't help and gripe water makes him gag. Apparently he should be going through a growth spurt/leap about now so that would make sense why he's being fussy.
I think he's discovered his voice as he keeps shrieking but isn't upset and seems to do it because he likes it and he's cooing and gooing it's adorable.

Re bleeding mine stopped after about 3.5/4 weeks.

BunchOfBobs · 14/09/2016 08:17

Miley. I had to hand express sometimes he first few days as he was sleepy form labour and wouldn't always latch. Don't be worrying about it yet, as long as you're getting plenty of wet and dirty nappies he's getting enough. Try stripping him off and blowing and tickling as Leonie suggested, works a treat.

LisaTheSimpson · 14/09/2016 08:19

Wow, Canters, that's awesome! When will you be moving?

Congrats on 30 weeks, Stardrey! That always felt like such a milestone to me, and proper third trimester!

Welcome Jan! Hope everything is going well with your pregnancy

Lillian - same here! I've been saying to DH for weeks 'no rush, we've got ages', and now I'm 37+2, we might not have ages anymore.....! Scary! My last day at work is tomorrow, and then I really need to sort the house and get washing done.

Miley, sorry about the sleep, but so glad you're feeling physically better and getting back to normal. When you feel up to it, can we have more adorable Harrison photos please? Grin

Bunch - baby acne?? I've never heard of that! Is it a reaction to something? Or just something they grow out of?

Nev, poor little Bodhi having a cold :( Assume there's not a lot you can do, and he just has to get through it?
