Behold, the wonder of birth! Members from 6 weeks bfp to post-partum wonder Mamas! No question to grotty or minging.

We've come full circle from obsessing about cervical mucus to now obsessing if it's our vagina baby plug going! What larks!

Lots of talk about poo, ours and now babies too! Baby brain is REAL! This heat can kiss my arse. And who KNEW being so neurotic about which changing mat to buy could be so satisfying and addictive!

Roll up literally, in my case, cause I'm practically rotund! for TTC #1 Grads!

Bunch Arya isn't interested in toys either, she just happened to look like she was so I snapped a photo Wink

Miley I missed your photos. The teddy one is adorable!!!!
nope you're not the only one who thinks seeing all the babies together would be awesome.
Glad your poo went well lol

aww Bunch Atticus is so cute. I think Arya has lots of bad dreams the way she whines but I don't know what about. The worse thing that has ever happened to her is nappy change, or possibly having to wait 5 minutes while I make a bottleConfused

Welcome Damson and congrats Grin I agree with everything Bunch said.
I also took seven seas pregnancy vitamins. They're a lot cheaper than pregnecare and do the same thing Smile

Canters I think your spot on with your assessment of how blokes adapt. Even mine who's done it twice before was a bit shaky to begin with but he's starting to improve, he goes straight to say hello to Arya when he comes in now and is happy to give her a cuddle or a feed to give me a break (so that I can do stuff Hmm)

Indie glad your 36w appointment went well. Not long now and you'll have your own cute little newborn to share photos of Grin

Nev poor little mite, but at least he's getting better now.
I'd never heard the name Bodhi before you used it but today one of my FB friends liked a photo of their friends newborn called Bodhi... I admit, I checked if the birthdays matched lol.

I'm slightly worried that Arya isn't going to know her name because I keep calling her random things like sausages, petal bum and hiccup. I should probably stop that Confused

leoniethelioness · 14/09/2016 21:55

Sorry to hear Bodhi is poorly, Nev. Theodore seems to have a blocked nose but his temperature is normal. He's a bit sniffly but doesn't seem out of sorts. I feel sorry for him all the same. Full of a cold and lots of baby acne - my poor boy! I feel a bit guilty as maybe we've taken him out too much and exposed him to too many germs?!

BunchOfBobs · 14/09/2016 22:16

Miley it would be so amazing to see them all together.

Nev sorry he's poorly, glad the calool is working. He looks gorgeous in that photo though.

Leonie exposing him is good, it builds his immune system. Keeping him away from everything and washing your hands before touching him etc will only make for a sickly baby in future so I read.

Potato I've attached a photo of how unimpressed Atticus was with the whozit today. He also cried when I sang Disney songs to him. Can't please this boy Wink
Nappy changing or clothes changing is serious torture in this house. To the point the physio who came today to deal with his flat head thought she had accidentally hurt him when taking his babygrow off. Poor thing looked horrified ha!

AudreyBradshaw · 14/09/2016 22:24

My top belly bar scar has torn! Shock ouch!

BunchOfBobs · 14/09/2016 22:25

The photo would help, doh!

Ouch stardrey. Is it bleeding? Salt water bathe it. Hope it's not too sore.

AudreyBradshaw · 14/09/2016 22:54

It's been itchy for a couple of days but I just looked and it has only slightly split down one side but it's weirdly sore! Salt bath! Didn't think of that thanks bunch

He's a beauty!

OP posts:
leoniethelioness · 14/09/2016 23:17

Great photo, Bunch. Is the flat head from delivery or from him lying flat to sleep? I can't see it at all in the photo. Hope the physio helps Atticus.

I would like to sleep but Theo cries whenever I lie him down in his crib. 😂😂😂😂😂😂

leoniethelioness · 15/09/2016 01:05

Why does baby boy wake up just as I've fallen asleep? 😲😲😲😲

IrregularCommentary · 15/09/2016 01:35

I feel your pain Leonie. Tamsin is an utter delight during the day, not fussy, feeds well, sleeps where you put her. Night comes and she's almost impossible to feed, even though she's hungry and she'll only sleep if you're holding her. It's just exhausting.

BunchOfBobs · 15/09/2016 02:14

Leonie,'irregular have you tried warming up the surface you're putting them down on? It's a big shock going from your body to a crib/Moses basket as it'll be much colder. Atticus was the same the first few nights, so we used hot water bottles to warm the surface and now he's in grobags he doesn't need them. Also try white noise.

Ouch Stardrey, hope the salt bath helps.

Leonie it's from having a head turning preference. He came out only wanting to turn his head to the right with a really stiff neck. Could be from the forceps but physio thinks it's from being head down so long in the womb, he could have had his head in that position for a long time.
It's on the right side of his head so left when looking at him so it's just out of sight on the photo. We have to keep him off his head as much as possible in the day so lots of tummy time and up in winding position turning his head to the left. Once he turns his head freely any direction she'll discharge him. He has full range of movement now-
Thanks to cranial osteopathy but it's a habit of him turning on one direction. There's a special pillow called a mimo pillow that's safety tested and completely breathable- no sids risk- that prevents flat spots so she's recommended her as it'll stop it getting worse. It's about £60 with P&up and the cover but amazingly she's giving us her free sample she got from the company. Dinners crossed it works.

This is the first feed since 10pm. I'm in shock!!

Nevlet · 15/09/2016 02:41

Potato what was the Facebook verdict? Same or different bodhi haha? We had never heard the name before and as both being teachers we were after a name neither of us associated with past students!

Thanks for the get wells for him he is so much more his usual self tonight I feel bad I hadnt put his grizzliness and sickiness this week down to him feeling a bit poorly but until yesterday when the cold was obvious he seemed well enough.

Just put him down in the sleepyhead and hiccups have started... Wonder how long till that turns into a cryfest huh?

PotatosMum · 15/09/2016 08:08

Leonie i second what Bunch said. Exposing your baby to germs will help him build up a strong immune system.

Babies have a sixth sense which wakes them up when you're tired, need to do something or are just about to eat Hmm

Bunch lol, I feel your pain with the nappy and clothes. Arya hates it but she also hated being in a dirty nappy Hmm
That photo is so funny.

Audrey ouchy! I hope the belly bar whole heals quickly.

Nev it was a different Bodhi. The birth dates were about a week apart. But of a coincidence though. It must be an up and coming name Grin
Glad Bodhi is feeling better Smile does he often cry when he gets hiccups?

Arya slept 9pm to 3am to 7:30 am last night Grin babies aren't supposed to sleep though the night until at last 4 months but at this rate I think Arya will manage it by 2 months Smile she's such a good baby Halo

Mileymoocow · 15/09/2016 08:11

Oh nev it must be so difficult to see him poorly Sad hope he feels better soon.

We had a pretty damn good night! Fed every 3 hours - straight back to sleep. Bit of a squawk at around 3am so off he went with daddy for a couple of hours. I reckon I've had 4 good hours sleep so I feel loads better. Just having a quick catch up while Harrison squeaks on next to me after his breakfast. We're going to take him out in his pram for a walk with the dog this morning then waiting in for the breast feeding people to turn up! Irregular he is like Tamsin - for some reason he is a total fuss pot at taking the boob on a night time. Hope he isn't too bad for long!

bunch Atticus is absolutely amazing Grin his little expressions are priceless.

audrey bloody ouch! Shock I hope it doesn't cause you too much bother. I have a fear of belly buttons so that sounds traumatic to me! Mine is huge now after being stretched...lovely.

Feefeefs · 15/09/2016 08:18

Hope the sweep works drwhy.

Congratulations on the job move canters.

You sound very organised indi! Eeek that's exciting no more midwife!

Welcome janubub.

Oh god miley so relieved you said all the pain is gone. Woke up every time I rolled over last night.

I'm glad there was no more knocking potato.

Poor little bodhi and his cold hopefully it clears up soon!

Congratulations damson!

IrregularCommentary · 15/09/2016 08:20

Ooh, I'd not even considered the temperature aspect there Bunch - thanks!

We did also invest in a Sleepyhead yesterday and she does seem to like it. After my post last night, dh took her downstairs to let me get some sleep (we were guessing 1-2hrs). I got 4hrs!! He brought her up this morning about 6am as she was fussing and looking like she wanted boob. Gave her to me and she went straight on and fed. She did that 3 times in a row over the course of about an hour and she's since been asleep in the sleepyhead Grin

Honestly, can't tell you how relieving it is. Having real difficulties getting her to feed enough as she just falls asleep all the time. She's slightly jaundiced, which makes her more sleepy anyway, but then I need her to feed to help get rid of the jaundice without the need for treatment.

Last night 11pm - 1am was awful. She was clearly increasingly hungry but just would not latch on and feed. She kept pushing my boob away but then reaching for it as soon as she didn't have it any more. All the time just screaming and screaming at me.

Christ, I don't think I've ever felt so horrible or so useless. All my brain was saying to me was, "you have one job!"

DH was brilliant. Kept taking her back off me and calming her down so we could try again in a different position and then eventually just took her downstairs so I could sleep and then this morning has been so, so much better. I've even managed to put the dishwasher on!

I think one of the next challenges today is going to be first post c section poo. Have heard horror stories about the amount of pressure it feels like it puts on your stitches so not looking forward to it at all!

Sorry for the me post, struggling to keep up with everything but really needed to vent somewhere x

Co5mo · 15/09/2016 08:31

All this baby tall and photos is making me emotional. So excited for this little one to arrive...just need a name for him now.

Ouch, I hope your scar heals Audrey.

So after two days of negotiating following the antenatal class, DH is coming to the hospital with me but I'll have my Mum on standby. How he got squeemish in a class with no photos, diagrams or videos I have no idea. I was quite disappointed by the class. The midwife could have been reading from a book that my midwife gave me a few weeks ago.

Nevlet · 15/09/2016 08:32

Glad you got some sleep irregular it really helps you feel more positive!

I think my little butthead is feeling better he slept all night apart from for feeds and he guzzled them and no sick. He is now convinced he needs a second breakfast!

The last of my stitches came out yesterday so I assume the majority of the tear has healed as they have dissolved? I braved a look with a mirror and all looks normal but I had never inspected my foof with a mirror before to compare!!

shelbTa · 15/09/2016 08:57

Hi ladies

Just wanted to check in and say hi on a rare five free mins!

Congrats to all the new mums!

It's bloody hard ain't it?! Had my first day on my own yesterday and she was awake literally all day cranky, pretty tough. Got piles too now. Apart from that it's ace and she's adorable.

Xx

Mileymoocow · 15/09/2016 09:07

I think we're going to go for a sleepy head today, too. He loves his poddle pod so much and it's basically the same concept but OK for sleeping in!

irregular I could have written that - we had a similar night. He also screeches for boob, pushes it away, rinse and repeat. I got up at about 8, had a shower, have some actual clothes on and now he's sleeping in his moses basket while daddy has a nap and mummy has a cup of tea!

Hope everyone is having a good day. Here's a little Harrison for you Grin total proud mummy

IrregularCommentary · 15/09/2016 09:36

You guys always make me feel better Smile It's hard to keep in perspective at 1am when you're sleep deprived that you're dealing with a tiny baby that's only been in the world for about 80hrs, and wasn't due to have to deal with it for another 3 weeks! As much as it's rubbish that we're all having struggles, it's so bloody reassuring!

Nev really pleased Bodhi is feeling brighter now.

Potato any further info on the door kicker? That must have been awful, really scary. I think I'd absolutely freak if that happened here!

Stardrey - hope you're doing ok, sounds like you've had a really rough ride recently. Congrats on 30 weeks as well, not long now!

Pet owners - how are yours getting on with the new arrivals? We've been really chuffed with Archie so far. He's been really respectful of his distance with Tam and has consistently looked to us for how close he's allowed to get etc. He's not keen on her keeping the house up at night, but seems pretty chilled with her otherwise so far.

I'm totally on board with the idea of pointing babies at each other btw, would be amazing if they all met - they've no idea of the emotional trauma that goes into getting them all here safely!

First poo done. So relieved! Both that it was fine, and also feel better for it I think I just lost 2kg.

IrregularCommentary · 15/09/2016 09:39

Oh, also... Tamsin chilling during/at the end of some skin to skin last night. Totally the calm before the storm, but still! 😍

Nevlet · 15/09/2016 10:03

He is definitely feeling better just changed a wet nappy and had two helicopter wees in the process i was running out of things to use as a shield that werent pee soaked. Change his clothes new muslin etc.

Sit back down in bed. He makes such a cute face at me which I know only means one thing... A shart is coming. We are on shart number 4 in as many minutes and he is still wearing the pushing face... I am afraid the nappy can contain no more but no way am i taking it off till he stops pushing!

Mileymoocow · 15/09/2016 10:21

irregular Milo (labrador) is brilliant! He doesn't leave his side other than to go for a walk. He has had a sniff but he definitely knows his boundaries as he just sits or lies and watches him. He does his head tilts whenever he squeaks though and he also is not a fan of being up all night! 😂

Tamsin is bloody gorgeous ❤

BunchOfBobs · 15/09/2016 10:41

Miley I cannot get over that hair, so so gorgeous. We appeared to follow the old wives tail with our delightful heartburn hey?The sleepyhead is amazing,Atticus loves his.

Hi Shelb! First day alone is hard, I found it helps to have plans for the day but be fine with staying in bed/on the sofa too.

Nev glad to hear you're healing well and Bodhi is feeling better. Hah I love the term helicopter wee, has he peed on his own fave yet? Hilarious when Atticus does it.

Irregular. Miley Atticus does this too and I find it's when he wants to suckle but doesn't want the milk so in comes the magical dummy. Life saver!! Or if he's shaking his head a lot then it's wind.

Irregular Sherlock is doing amazing with Atticus. He was a bit distant at first but now he's adorably protective of him. If he's crying and anyone other than me or DH have him he's straight up to the person with him checking that Atticus is okay. If he's in his swing he is sat on the sofa leaning on the arm watching him in the swing. It's to adorable. Absolutely gorgeous photo of Tam.

We've been to our nurse appointment this morning for an oozing over granulated belly button, umbilical hernia and his lack of pooing but constant straining. They've booked us an appointment with the GP tomorrow, fingers crossed all is well.

Nevlet · 15/09/2016 11:30

Bunch face, head, conservatory wall ... You name it he has peed on it!

My mum is here and on Bodhi duty while I have a shower... Never would have thought I need help to be able to take a shower haha!
