Behold, the wonder of birth! Members from 6 weeks bfp to post-partum wonder Mamas! No question to grotty or minging.

We've come full circle from obsessing about cervical mucus to now obsessing if it's our vagina baby plug going! What larks!

Lots of talk about poo, ours and now babies too! Baby brain is REAL! This heat can kiss my arse. And who KNEW being so neurotic about which changing mat to buy could be so satisfying and addictive!

Roll up literally, in my case, cause I'm practically rotund! for TTC #1 Grads!

Off on hols for two weeks so should manage to catch up this time!

ElleSarcasmo · 13/09/2016 08:20

Congratulations Miley! Harrison is just gorgeous. Love the name too. Hope you're right about A+ types having faster labours! Wink Definitely going to look out for that blanket in asda, it looks so soft!

Love the pic of Arya with her book Potato, hopefully she will repeat her sleeping trick tonight and your neighbours will keep quiet!

Tamsin is gorgeous Irregular, glad you're both doing well!

Soda where did you get fitted for your nursing bras? Did you buy the bras from there as well?

Nevlet · 13/09/2016 08:26

A+ here too once I got to active labour went very quickly too but from waters breaking to 4cm was about 17 hours so maybe not!

Loving the pictures of the new babies Smile

Bodhi is two weeks old today it has gone so fast and he seems big now Sad

IndiX · 13/09/2016 08:40

Miley, Harrison is adorable. I love his hair, I'm hoping Beanie will have a full head of dark hair too I'm hairy but DH isn't so much. So happy that your labour wasn't too long or terrible, hope you recover well and get home soon. I can't believe you're a mummy already! Always thought we'd have babies next to each otherSmile

Irregular Tamsin is beautiful and I'm glad you're both doing well.

Potato sorry your neighbours were total pain in the arses in the night but great news that Arya slept well! Hopefully this will be the new routine for you both.

Canters I don't think my Bump has dropped and I'm 36w tomorrow.

Thanks for all the bra and baby clothes suggestions. Going to start my baby washing today and then tomorrow I'll be able to run in to town and get all my stuff from primark. Just 24 days until Beanie's arrivalGrin I can't wait to join you all by sharing pics and baby stories.

Hope you all have a lovely day xx

Co5mo · 13/09/2016 08:45

Oh my word, I take my eyes of the thread for a few days and look what happens. Congratulations ladies and welcome to the world little ones. All these October babies arriving early has me freezing out at every twinge and movement this morning! I've definitely reached the 'get him out of me' phase so I'm somewhat green with envy.

I just bough more nursing bras in Primark. I've been wearing Primark since I grew out of my normal bras and have found them ok so as I'm not planning long term breast feeding I've just added to them rather than trying anywhere else. It probably helps that I have fried eggs for boobs usually so don't need that much support.

Health visitor came yesterday. That's an hour of my life I won't get back. I understand why they do it but having given all the same info over previously it was quite tedious.

Taking DH to the 'labour' antenatal class today. Wish him luck...this is where we find out if he's going to duck out of being my birthing partner.

DrWhy · 13/09/2016 08:54

Hi folks, sorry I haven't been about much - I have good intentions to get involved in this thread then I find I need to post several times day to even vaguely keep up and give up again - sorry Blush
I can't believe how many babies we have already, they are so cute! I'm 5 days late now and seeing the midwife at lunchtime - had vague period type pains overnight so hopefully that's a little progress, we'll see.
Miley I'm really glad that you and your little one are doing so well despite being early. Very impressed that you've managed to feed too.
Hi to everyone - I hope that both bumps and babies are doing well!

Sodasoda · 13/09/2016 09:16

Elle I was planning on going to John Lewis but couldn't be bothered as my feet were so swollen! I went to jojo maman Bebe and they were great - they measured me and they stock the bravado make there so bought them there too. I also bought a couple of their basic own brand bras for sleeping but have ended up sleeping in the bravado ones too as they're so comfy.

Milk has come in and I look like a porn star! Grin 2 massive boulders!!

Attempting to leave the house for the first time today for a walk and have no idea what clothes to wear. Also don't really know how to dress Alexa - it's 29 degrees in London today Shock

IndiX · 13/09/2016 09:34

Oh dr I thought you would've been a mummy by now! Hope things get started for you very soon and I hope you're feeling well

PotatosMum · 13/09/2016 09:39

Nev I know exactly what you mean about it going too fast. Arya is one month old next week Sad I love her to bits and it's amazing to see her progress but it's so sad to think that she's already growing up so fast.

Cosmo I'm sure your OH will be fine at the class.

Dr good luck with the midwife, hope you have movement soon.

Pinklily1 · 13/09/2016 09:41

morning ladies

potato, noises in the night would freak me out too! Glad to hear Arya slept so well though. Did the health visitor actually ever get back to you about food?

Hi dr! Hope you are feeling ok. Will your midwife do a sweep today?

cosmo, good luck for the antenatal course! Is your OH squeamish?! Mine was adamant that he was staying at my head end and was unsure about cutting the cord, but when it came to it he watched our baby being born and cut the cord too.

miley, Harrison is adorable! He has so much hair!

Re nursing bras, I got Anita ones from figleaves and they are really comfy. They are underwired, which is great as my boobs are currently 32FF Shock I've got sleep tips from Mothercare which are fine.

For those breastfeeding, how long do your babies spend on each breast? Evelyn starts I off really well but quickly falls asleep and then gets too agitated to keep on the breast. I swap her over to the other boob but then the same happens and I end up topping her feed up with formula.

Pinklily1 · 13/09/2016 09:42

Feefeefs · 13/09/2016 11:34

Ugh canters talk about trying to hit you where it hurts! I know I'm feeling paranoid about DH getting irritated by my slowness and pain even with all the reassuring. Try to ignore her and listen to your DH! Easier said than done tho!!

Sounds like a rough week stardrey hope you're getting some time to yourself to relax.

Congratulations miley lovely name too!! Gorgeous pictures!

Lovely pictures of Tamsin too irregular.

PotatosMum · 13/09/2016 11:41

Ok, I'm bricking it. The banging just happened again, it was the front door, it's hook with the force of it, but there was no shadow on the glass panels to show there was someone there and when I opened the door there was no one in the street. To say I'm freaked out would be an understatement.

I'm not usually very woo but yesterday my sister text me to tell me that my dead grandmother who hated me had been to see Arya. Trying not to read too much into it. I'm sure there's an explanation. Confused

LillianFullStop · 13/09/2016 12:21

woah potato that certainly sounds odd! Could have been the postman trying to deliver something did someone leave a note?

Is DH at work? Maybe send him to pop to your neighbours to see if they've heard knocking too.

did your DSis dream about your grandmother what does she mean by what she said?

LillianFullStop · 13/09/2016 12:22

Hope things progress soon for you drwhy!

PotatosMum · 13/09/2016 13:03

Ok, mystery of the door has been solved. Not woo at all, some little bastard has been trying to kick it in!!! Shock I've reported it to the police.

Lillian my family have a history of seeing woo stuff. I was really interested in woo stuff when I was younger but grew out of it and now try to distance myself from that sort of thing as it wasn't good for my mental health. My sister on the other hand is still interested in it.
She just told me that she had a sense that the grandmother had visited Arya.

LillianFullStop · 13/09/2016 13:18

Good to hear it turned out to be fairly harmless potato - but a little too soon for Halloween knock and runs!! and not ideal with a newborn baby sleeping in the house.

oh I try to stay away from the stuff too it messes with my mind too much! My dad is quite into it too but I prefer an oblivious existence thanks very much!

leoniethelioness · 13/09/2016 14:28

Re: breastfeeding - Pink Theodore usually feeds for about 15 minutes on one breast and rarely takes the other. Sometimes he'll feed for longer but his norm is 15 minutes. When he was first born he was so sleepy we were lucky to manage 5 minutes (hence top up feeds of EBM). I have been keeping a feeding diary but haven't done one today as we've been out all morning. We registered him, went for coffee, exchanged some baby grows we were given (same ones but got 3 to 6 instead as we have nothing in that size but loads of 0 to 3), and took him to see my colleagues at work -- and retrieved all my shoes from under my desk!

leoniethelioness · 13/09/2016 14:30

I find it helped to strip Theodore naked to his nappy, blow on him, tickle his hands and feed, and gently prod his cheek to feed him initially. Sometimes had to put him in his crib half way through until he got a bit fussy again and wanted the comfort of breastfeeding.

DrWhy · 13/09/2016 17:36

Thanks for the good wishes folks, the midwife did indeed do a sweep - she says things are favourable and when it does kick off it shouldn't take too long. I have been advised to try to catch up on some rest and to walk. Having spectacularly failed to sleep this afternoon and given that it's cold and grey out I'm going to do some bouncing on a ball and hope that helps!
Potatoes that sounds really intimidating but glad it was a real practical (if obnoxious!) child rather than anything woo!

Canters15 · 13/09/2016 17:55

Oh good lord Tamsin and Harrison are so cute!! My ovaries have melted into a little puddle. Cannot wait for my boy to be here! Glad your birth was relatively ok miley, you sound like you did incredibly well.

Project handbag is not going too well- everything I like is more then I wanted dh is permitting me to spend. Story of my life! I may devote the first few weeks of my mat leave to finding The One.

In other news, dh has accepted the job in Singapore! Mad but exciting!

IndiX · 13/09/2016 17:59

Potato well I'm sorry the little shit was trying to kick your door in but I guess it's better than an angry spirit. I don't know what to believe with all things paranormal, some stories I've heard from friends and relatives are hard to not believe!

Dr I really hope that the sweep works and you're in labour ASAP! Wishing you lots of luckStar

I've now bought most things for my hospital bags except for some big knickers, bras and some other bits that I can grab from town this week. Feeling MUCH more organised and have written 3 different lists on my phone for C-section bag, Baby bag and Overnight bag. Sounds a bit much but it really does add up when you start thinking how much you need for a couple of nights for you and a baby!
I have also got 2 massive piles of white washing and pink washing to do for Beanie. Once they are all washed and dried I can pack the bags properly and get them in the car ready to go.
Feeling very productive and excited ( also much more relaxed IF I was to go before my c section date!)Grin

Hope the rest of you ladies are well xx
