Behold, the wonder of birth! Members from 6 weeks bfp to post-partum wonder Mamas! No question to grotty or minging.

We've come full circle from obsessing about cervical mucus to now obsessing if it's our vagina baby plug going! What larks!

Lots of talk about poo, ours and now babies too! Baby brain is REAL! This heat can kiss my arse. And who KNEW being so neurotic about which changing mat to buy could be so satisfying and addictive!

Roll up literally, in my case, cause I'm practically rotund! for TTC #1 Grads!

Miley good luck!! Hope all is goes well and you and baby Miley will be cuddling soon! Grin

canters I'll remind you about the dress sizes when it's your turn Wink
Sorry your mum upset you, sounds like you need to take her opinions with a pinch of salt Hmm

Audrey that sounds like a total nightmare! Your BIL is a total liability, I know you can't just get rid but try not to let his issues upset you, it's not worth it.

I'm really fed up. The formula change seems to have resulted in Arya constantly having painful trapped wind and OH is unintentionally making me feel like it's my fault my baby is in discomfort.
I'm considering changing to aptimal as a lot of the threads I've read seem to suggest sma is known for causing trapped wind, but I'm worried as HV said changing milk could make her worse. Sad

Canters15 · 12/09/2016 04:29

Omg miley!! This is so exciting!! Wishing you all the luck in the world for a quick and uneventful birth.

I'm quite surprised at how many ladies have gone early on this thread. Finding myself bartering with myself- if baby arrived at 35ish weeks maybe I could stomach a vaginal birth?! This is definitely a sign I'm really fed up of being pregnant!

Pregsomnia is driving me nuts. If I ever have another I'm starting mat leave at 30 weeks!

Thanks for the sympathy ladies. My mum says a lot of weird stuff. Her pregnancy with me wasn't a happy time for my parents (nothing bad happened they just didn't want kids) so I think a lot of this may be jealousy related.

Canters15 · 12/09/2016 04:32

Oh and audrey- bloody hell! No idea what to say but it all sounds incredibly stressful. You sound like you've got a great attitude though, and I did smile at needing a large glass of rose and a fag!

IndiX · 12/09/2016 05:05

Canters I'm in the pregsomnia gang too! I'm really surprised aswell that only Pink ( I think) went overdue. It's actually scaring me a bit as Irregular and Miley were so close to my own due date. I feel like it's all got scarily real nowConfused DH was saying last night we really need to sort my hospital bag, so think I'll be heading to primark this week for big knickers and black pjs ASAP.
Just really hoping Beanie stays put until her ELCS dateBlush

Mileymoocow · 12/09/2016 05:22

indi please do sort your bag! I was so sure I'd go overdue.

Thank you all for your lovely kind wishes! It's so amazing to have so many ladies I've never met rooting for me. Had no sleep, feeling so exhausted but hasn't been too traumatic so far (touch wood!). Couldn't get my cannula in so had to call up a doc to do it after 3 attempts - he eventually managed one in my elbow joint. Now contracting ever so slightly and am waiting to be examined and have my drip started off at 6ish.

IndiX · 12/09/2016 05:41

Oh Miley I'm so excited for you! I'm sure you'll be amazing and everything will go well for you.
I always thought 'once Miley goes then I'm next'..im hoping that's not the case nowBlush but yes I will definitely get my bag prepped.

Good luck, you'll be great and Mini Miley will be here very soon Grin xx

leoniethelioness · 12/09/2016 05:54

Stark Thinking of you. That all sounds hellish.

Miley Best of luck and lots of love.

Re: the list - I think Baby Shelb is called Evelyn.

BunchOfBobs · 12/09/2016 06:42

Miley so exciting. It's common about the cannula, apparently our veins get much bigger and the force of the blood pushed the cannula out/ or so I was told after pudding blood everywhere out of the two holes in my hand. Elbow joint was the result for me too.
Try get some rest (easier said than done I know). I'll be thinking of you all day, I have been at every night feed. Can't wait to find out if you're team pink or blue.

Canters the health visitor that runs the course said we can't do tummy massage on a baby with a hernia. I really wanted to do all the poo massage as Atticus is a sod for holding onto poo. I think it's just my rump that's gone up 3 sizes. My top half seems fine.

Stardrey that sounds so stressful, glad your DH is doing his last shift.'I hope everything else gets sorted.

Pinklily1 · 12/09/2016 06:43

Eek, good luck miley! Thinking of you and hoping all goes well!

I'm also surprised how many early thread babies we have had. As far as I recall I'm the only one who has been overdue so far. Get those hospital bags packed in preparation ladies Wink

PotatosMum · 12/09/2016 07:42

Canters it does seem far more common to pop early if this thread is anything to go by!
It's a shame about your mum but as you say it sounds like it's about her hang ups not about you or your OH.

Miley eee! You'll probably have s baby by the end of the day. So exciting!!!

Waiting for the HVs to start work so that I can chat to them about Arya's formula although so far I'm less than impressed by their advice Confused

Canters15 · 12/09/2016 08:16

bunch that sucks (the massage, not your bum!)

Indi my bargaining is based on baby being smaller then normal and therefore less likely to tear. I expect this is probably rubbish and I'd be horrified to go into labour! I'm sure beanie will hang on for you.

Arghhhhhhhh pregsomnia. I was awake from 2-6am ish in the end. Fml. Cant believe I ever initially planned to work until 37 weeks, I'm now wondering whether to stop at 34!

Go Miley!!! Will be thinking of you today.

Newmrs22 · 12/09/2016 08:21

Ooh Miley hope it goes well today!

Can't believe how many early babies there have been. People always say 'ooh you'll go overdue with your first'

Potato hopefully they can give you some advice. Although Jacob is breastfed and still gets trapped wind which only really started in the last week or so. I think sometimes it just happens. I think in a couple of weeks it should sort itself out. Their digestive systems are figuring themselves out at the moment.

Bunch I'm sure the hernia is nothing you've done. It's just one of those things.

I'm in my own now until tomorrow night. Trying to figure out what to do with myself! DH is away for work

marmitecheesetoast · 12/09/2016 08:27

So exciting Miley good luck and hope all goes smoothly!

Stardrey that sounds so stressful, poor you and OH (especially having to deal with it without wine!!)

Good tip on the different threaded needles for cross stitch potato! I just started my second cross stich at the weekend although it's a pretty basic one! Finding it nice and relaxing.

Canters that's the kind of comment my mum would inadvertently make. As others have said you know DH best so try to just ignore it. Frustrating though.

Hope all those suffering with pregsomnia are hanging on. I feel like a zombie with first trimester exhaustion. I had two involuntary naps yesterday and that was after a massive overnight sleep too! Although I probably shouldn't complain about how much I'm sleeping on here, sorry! Blush

In other news my cold now seems to be developing into a chesty cough with the lovely side effect of additional vom-ing when I have a big coughing fit Hmm

ElleSarcasmo · 12/09/2016 08:38

Thinking of you Miley, hope everything is going well and you're being looked after. Can't wait to hear about baby Miley!

Thanks Potato! I can see myself being in maternity leggings for a long time. Did you change Arya's formula because of HV suggestion? I would think it's worth trying another one if it's made her worse (disclaimer-not a baby expert!). You know her best.

Hope the support stockings aren't too sweaty Feefs!

Soda Sad at the leakage, everything is still healing up down there so hopefully it'll right itself soon. Hope my DH is as lovely as yours if it happens to me, he's not known for his tact at the best of times!

Try to ignore your mum Canters, it sounds like she has her own issues. Your DH sounds like a sweetie.

Audrey glad your DH has finished there. Hopefully the CPS will recognise it for the crap it is. Sorry about your BIL as well, he sounds like a car crash Sad

Hope you feel better soon Marmite. 1st trimester is pretty rubbish Flowers

Another one in the pregsomnia club here, can't bear to look at the clock in the night as it's too depressing. I might have a sneaky Diet Coke today if I don't perk up (no sugar for me unfortunately Sad)

PotatosMum · 12/09/2016 08:52

New normally I'd agree with you but the poop problems were definitely sma and the pain from trapped wind only started when I changed to another version of sma before she got some trapped wind pain but now it's near constant Sad

Good luck managing without OH. In some ways I find it easier to look after Arya without OH as I don't try to maintain a "normal" schedule when we're on our own.

Marmite hope the cold sods off soon.

Elle I changed in HV recommendation as the one I was using made Arya's poo rock hard and massive. I'm now thinking its time to try another brand.

LillianFullStop · 12/09/2016 08:54

will keep watching the thread to day for mini miley news and another Team Vanilla reveal!

yes freaked out a bit with the trend of early arrivals! I'm 34w so finally got my hospital bag sorted last night - just clothes to go home in left to pack but that's easy to pop in on short notice. also had a couple of baby things that were in the 'can get closer to the date' list that I'm going to try to get this week. BH ramping up, along with period pains and fanny daggers so the am-I-in-labour paranoia has started Confused I still have 3 weeks of work to go!

DH and I went to visit friends and their new baby on the w/e. She is 8 weeks old and already on 3-6m clothes! I only have tiny baby and newborn size vests and babygrows but now I'm thinking I'd better get some 0-3 sizes stocked up in case they outgrow the newborn sizes too quickly. what sizes did you all buy?

hope all is well with the HV potato and you manage to get some good advice for Arya's wind.

thanks leonie I think I missed the announcement re: shelb's baby girls name - I'll update the list Smile while I'm at it I could add the stats on how many weeks gestation the babies were born? If the new mums don't mind PM'ing me or posting how many weeks when their LOs came I'll add those details to the list too!

leoniethelioness · 12/09/2016 08:58

Elle Still in the maternity leggings... Since I'm meant to still be pregnant for another 2.5 weeks I'm continuing to eat and dress like a pregnant person. I tried on my maternity jeans this morning but they felt tight by my stitches so they've gone back in the wardrobe.

Nevlet · 12/09/2016 09:13

Potato bodhi is on cow and gate and he poops just fine and his wind isnt too bad as long as i make him have burp breaks and keep him upright for half an hour after a feed

Lillian i had him at 39 + 1 and he was 9lb 4

I am in a mix of maternity and prepreg clothes I have but on 0.3kg thats it but i dont like my saggy belly in some normal clothes. Considering trying some exercise this week too...

Pinklily1 · 12/09/2016 09:15

Lillian, Evelyn arrived at 41+1 weeks.

I'm on my own too today. OH was offered a new job with a start date of today, which he couldn't refuse. It would have been lovely to have him home during the day for longer but so far, we are coping ok (we are both washed and dressed, and Evelyn has been fed, which I class as 'coping ok'!).

Stardey, I hope you are ok and all works out with you OH and jobs.

potato, have you tried Cow and Gate? I am topping up Evelyn's breast feeding with it and it seems ok so far.

Re clothes, I bought newborn and up to 1 month. Evelyn was 8lbs at birth and was in newborn for the first few days (up to 7.5lbs). They were roomy around her middle but she is quite long so the legs were on the short side. We've swapped to up to 1 month now (mainly m&s which fits up to 9lbs 14) and they are huge on her, but at least her poor little legs aren't cramped!!

BunchOfBobs · 12/09/2016 09:18

Lillian Atticus came at 39+3.

PotatosMum · 12/09/2016 09:36

Nev, Pink cow and gate is another one I've been told is good Smile I believe cow and gate and aptimal are made in the same factory but aptimal has added probiotics.

I couldn't get hold of the health visitor. Apparently they'll call me back at 4 but I think I'm going to go ahead and change formula as I don't want Arya being unhappy a minute longer than she has to be!

Pink good luck with going it alone today Grin

And in other, slightly gross news, Arya just sneezed up a grown up sized bogie. Lovely! Confused

PotatosMum · 12/09/2016 09:37

Oh, Lillian Arya was born at 38+6

leoniethelioness · 12/09/2016 09:55

Theo was born at 35+1.

Does anyone else have a baby with baby acne?
