Behold, the wonder of birth! Members from 6 weeks bfp to post-partum wonder Mamas! No question to grotty or minging.

We've come full circle from obsessing about cervical mucus to now obsessing if it's our vagina baby plug going! What larks!

Lots of talk about poo, ours and now babies too! Baby brain is REAL! This heat can kiss my arse. And who KNEW being so neurotic about which changing mat to buy could be so satisfying and addictive!

Roll up literally, in my case, cause I'm practically rotund! for TTC #1 Grads!

pink enormous congratulations! What a beautiful name, too Grin hope she learns to feed soon so you can go home and enjoy your time there. I also hope your episiotomy heals well.

soda that is really exciting! How early are you? You're over 39 weeks now of I remember rightly? which I probably don't because baby brain.

irregular oh that sounds so traumatic! I hope you feel better Flowers

potato I've also been told you can't cuddle babies too much so tell them to piss off Grin

Hi to everyone else! And sorry if I've missed anything. Tying up all loose ends in my final week and struggling to keep up. Hopefully that will change next week.

Sodasoda · 08/09/2016 12:16

I'm 39+1 today miley so waters broke at 39 weeks on the dot. I was so sure I'd be late! ML is within your sights, keep going!

AudreyBradshaw · 08/09/2016 12:23

Massive congratulations pink

Good luck soda

Sending positive vibes out to everyone. Flowers

soda I'm hoping to be right on time - I'm so looking forward to baby being here but I also really want some time to myself to make sure everything is just right for their arrival! I'd still be chuffed if I was a week early though Grin I guess I don't really know what I want. Good luck anyway!

PotatosMum · 08/09/2016 12:28

Hope things get a shift on for you Soda

Pink, Shelb I forgot to say, my great grandmother was an Eveline.

Arya is determine to be in a strop today. Won't settle at all. I'm slightly worried that maybe she doesn't feel well but she was fine last night.

Sodasoda · 08/09/2016 12:32

I was the same miley hoping to be right on time. My last day at work was 38+2 so have really spent the last few days getting everything ready for baby without much chill time. But I also know it would have driven me mad sitting round waiting for something to happen and baby being overdue. Poor baby can't win Wink

Newmrs22 · 08/09/2016 12:53

I highly recommend baby being born on its due date Grin although my waters went 2 days before. I didn't see my phone all day, but when I finally looked I'd had loads of messages saying 'happy due date!' Followed a few hours later by everyone saying 'omg you haven't replied... ARE YOU IN LABOUR?' haha

Sodasoda · 08/09/2016 13:18

Ha new! Yes, at least I will miss out on all the 'has baby arrived yet?' messages - like I'd forget to tell them!

Just bouncing on a birth ball watching bake off on my iPad. No contractions here....

IrregularCommentary · 08/09/2016 14:39

Hey guys, thanks for the support. I'm absolutely fine, just grumpy at the lack of information and general stress caused.

Potato no protein in wee at all, zero signs of pre eclampsia other than swelling (due to heat) and raised bp.

Co5mo this was the General. Hoping to be able to go to St Mary's at Melton for the birth - even more so now tbh!

Canters15 · 08/09/2016 14:42

Congratulations pink! Well done you, hope you're enjoying little Evelyn.

Good luck soda! So exciting that you're within touching distance of meeting your baby. I'm going to bet blue for you too, based on absolutely nothing.

Had my 28 week midwife appointment today, at almost 30 weeks (oops). She thinks I look anaemic, which I suspected as feel exhausted and quite short of breath at times. Am now measuring 2cm behind, which she didn't seem concerned about, but has now got me a bit worried as realised I have only grown 2cm in last month. Just telling myself it's not an exact science and everything else was spot on! I've taken today off sick as just feel really under the weather, back is aching and am on call all weekend....dh wants me to take tomorrow off too but I feel too guilty.

Hope everyone else ok, sorry for the pity party! potato sorry Arya is a bit grumpy, hopefully she'll be back to her normal self soon.

PotatosMum · 08/09/2016 16:18

Irregular glad to hear there was no protein. I wouldn't wish what I went through on my worse enemy!

Canters I wouldn't worry about the bump measurement. It's really not very accurate and can be effected by all sorts including what the baby is doing at the time.

Arya seems to be a bit better now. At least she's sleeping. Smile

Mileymoocow · 08/09/2016 16:43

soda yep! I'm no the most patient person in the world so would probably be the same once the last bit of laundry had dried Hmm

canters if you need time off to recover definitely do and don't feel guilty about it - you and baby are more important than going to work.

Just said goodbye to some of my team as 2 of them are on holiday tomorrow for my last day. Got some lovely gifts and got a little emotional. To top it all off I've even managed to have a movement without any bother at all! Grin I still can't believe after tomorrow I'm going to be away from work for 10 months... it's all I've known for 7 years so it seems really strange.

Co5mo · 08/09/2016 17:21

Canters 3cm either way is the point at which they would send you for a scan to check baby's growth.

Just back from the hospital. Still got short arms and legs but growth curves are normal. Repeat scan in 3 weeks then sweep at 39 weeks and induction at 40 weeks is the plan atm. They don't want to let me go any further just in case there's a placental issue. Not really looking forward to a sweep if I'm not already on my way.

leoniethelioness · 08/09/2016 20:45

Just to say I'm thinking of you, Soda!

PotatosMum · 08/09/2016 21:35

Miley yay for last day before ML, it's really weird to start with but you get used to it far too quickly. I'm now starting to think about what it'll be like going back to work in 8 months. I don't like the thought of it. I don't want someone else looking after my baby Sad

Cosmo good that your growth curve is normal. Hopefully all will be well and baby will turn up without intervention. I think most of us have popped around the 39 week mark.

Soda I hope all is progressing well Smile

Pink how's it going with your new little one? Are you home yet?

Arya spent all evening asleep on my tummy... I was too scared to move her and suffer her grumpiness but the little turn coat was fed and sang to sleep by her daddy this evening without so much as a chirp. Now he thinks I was making up her bad mood to cover the fact I wanted to cuddle her Hmm

OHs interview went as well as could be expected. He won't find out if he got it until next week but he's already in a far more relaxed mood. We're now past the three really stressful events that we had ahead of us at the start of August moving, labour and interview so hopefully things can settle down into a more relaxed pattern. Smile

PotatosMum · 08/09/2016 21:37

I forgot to add, I love this little critter even when she's grumpy!

Sorry you've had such a bad hospital experience irregular - I don't know why they can't treat people like humans instead of just faceless patients - a bit of courtesy just to explain what they are doing and why especially when you are right there and it absolutely concerns you. Grrrrrr! hope you get to still have your birth at MLU instead of hospital.

Potato Arya is getting cuter by the minute how can you not cuddle her!? I don't know why people feel the need to judge or impose their opinions. think pregnancy advice is bad it looks like it gets worse with parenting advice! I know I can't wait to cuddle my LO when she comes and she can have as much as she likes thanks very much!

canters steady growth rate sounds reassuring.

Pink hope you're recovering well and you and baby Evelyn will be home soon.

nev I love your OH's nicknames for Bodhi lol! your planned Devon trip sounds like a dream!

miley enjoy last day at work! lucky you!!!!

hoping to wake up to your birth announcement tomorrow soda - hope everything is going smoothly!

my BH has ramped up - just 2 weeks ago I was saying how I had no idea what a BH was and I never get them. today DH was saying 'What is she doing in there your tummy is a weird shape' YUP good ole BH - oddest is when my tummy took on an almost impossible pointy shape Confused

Also getting the occasional period pains mostly in the evenings so I guess my body is now preparing for labour. hope she doesn't come too early in only 33+4 with 3 weeks of work left and still hoping for a week off to relax before LO comes!

PotatosMum · 09/09/2016 04:46

Thanks Lillian Grin

Well I don't know what's going in tonight but arya is demanding food every 2 hours Confused I'm shattered!!!
I'm wondering if she's having a growth spurt or something as it's such a change from her normal pattern Hmm

BunchOfBobs · 09/09/2016 05:09

Potato she could be, that would account for more frequent feelings. I hope she goes back to her normal routine for you quickly. Atticus is generally awake every 1.5-2 hours so I'm used to it now. Though for the first feed I usually get a 3 hour block. Last night was every hour with 15-20 min feeding so I was ruined by morning. I've been up trying to settle him for an hour as he's had trapped wind. Infracol is back in play. I too now have the most painful pooing sessions from piles. I've been using anusol and they seem to be shrinking but the pain and bleeding hasn't reduced so think I must have internal ones too. Time to use the suppositories I think SadHave the stool softeners helped you any?

Irregular I'm sorry you had such a rough time of it but glad all is well.

Feefs hope the next scan shows improvement, take it easy.

Woohoo Miley ML is almost upon you. I hope you have a lovely last day.

Co5mo sweeps really are fine, no worse than a smear.

Thinking of you soda. Is Oh allowed to stay with you overnight if labour isn't yet forthcoming? Though from your quietness if imagine it is Grin

Nevlet · 09/09/2016 08:01

Potato my nan has a similar obsession that i am "ruining the baby" by holding him so much. He was less than a week old when she first stared that!

Bodhi is having a wierd feeding phase he only seems to want a couple of oz every two hours or so but last night he slept over 4 on just an oz! He seems happy enough though?

This is his cute morning face today

Sorry I haven't read back but just want to update you all - I'm a mummy! It's a girl! Her name is Alexa (Ali for short) and she was 6lb 1oz and totally gorgeous! Born at 4.25 this morning.

The gel to speed things up didn't work so moved to labour ward at 7pm to have the syntocin drip. I had an epidural straight away on docs advice which kept things under control. I was only 2 cm dilated but by 2.30am I was 10cm! So fairly quick in the end. DH with me throughout and allowed to stay before and after. He's been amazing.

Couple of internal stitches which are fairly uncomfortable but totally worth it. I'm exhausted after 2 nights of no sleep but I can't stop staring at Ali and cuddling her! Love to you all xxxx

PotatosMum · 09/09/2016 08:07

Bunch sorry you're dealing with painful poo too. I haven't used much of the stool softener as going for a poo takes me so long and Arya has been so fussy. I'm going to try it properly at the weekend when OH is around.
I just looked up the symptoms of growth spurts and I think it's a fair bet Arya is having one. Bright side is that she should be back to being a little angel in a day or two Grin meanwhile at least it's Friday so I won't feel bad about kicking OH out of bed to help.
